I really enjoyed my dinner at this Thai spot in FiDi. The interior design from the entering the restaurant to being seated really makes you feel like you left the city temporarily. Looking through their cocktail menu, I noticed everything was made from sake. Not hating on it, just an observation I noticed. We got the Chiang Mai Lady ($16), which was made from Japanese plum wine, sake, lemon juice, cranberry juice, ginger-infused syrup, and fragrant rose water. Sounded like an interesting combination of ingredients and tasted pretty decent. I personally ordered the Thai Coffee Martini ($15), which was on their specials menu. This is made from Thai coffee, sake, and Baileys coffee cream. Good drink to get to stay awake with a Thai twist. For appetizers, we ordered the Thai Dumpling Curry in the Ocean ($14), also from their specials menu. This was more of a vegetarian dish made mainly with chives and mushrooms soaked in Massaman curry. Great for the vegetarians out there. We also got the Grilled Shrimp Mango Salad ($16), which I was surprised how well it tasted. It may have been my favorite dish out of everything we ordered. For entrees, we ordered the Drunken Noodle w Duck ($27). Duck was prepared well. I ended up having this as leftovers for lunch the following day and the duck still tasted great along with the noodles. We also got the Seafood Pineapple Curry ($38), which was massive as they served the dish in a gutted pineapple and anything that didn't fit in the pineapple in its own bowl. Comes with white rice. We also ordered Tom Yum Soup and there was a good amount of large Shrimp. Drunken Noodles with Chicken and Crab Fried Rice were really good. Cute interior space with cherry blossoms and other colorful decor. Service is good, waters are always refilled and they take your order quickly. Onto the food, I loved my half chicken with papaya salad and sticky rice. This was so so good. The papayas salad had some sort of fish sauce dressing which cut through the richness of the roast chicken. The sweet chili sauce was also a great addition. Sticky rice was wonderfully chewy with a crisp exterior. Unfortunately, my friend did not like her pad see ew at all and barely touched it all dinner. I felt terrible but she didn't want any of mine. She said it's very hit or miss here and to be honest, it really just looks ok to me as well visually. The noodles don't seem very bouncy or fresh and the sauce wasn't great. Maybe was an off day. Came here while in town celebrating the Knicks win. The spot was not far from the Pier 11 area. We walked here from our hotel in the Wall street area. Most restaurants were over crowded with long waits but we lucked up when we popped in! There was no wait. We ordered drinks and food. The chicken satay was good. RACIST ESTABLISHMENT - On 9/3/2026 I came to the restaurant, with a reservation for 8:30pm. I arrived early to learn that there was available seating, as a party of two was seated without issue. When I asked to be seated, I was told the only available seating was the bar - despite me seeing available seats. Another party was seated without a reservation, when I asked for a manager. The manager approached me and apologized, but did not offer to seat me. When I asked what accommodations can be made, I was offered a "soft drink." I am African-American man...all the people seated before me without reservations were Asian. I am not condemning preference, but we must not be prejudiced in our business practices. There was a nice heat in each bite, evenly spread through the dish. The noodles were okay, the consistency was decent, if not a bit soft for some bites. Chicken in the dish was fine. I was excited to try this Thai place but completely turn off by the incredibly rude, unprofessional hostess. We tried to walk in early and the restaurant was pretty empty. The hostess ignored me at first then proceeded to to scold me for asking about wait times after I put my name down. I saw her treat other patrons who came in this way during my 15 min wait. A quick search brought up Thai food in the area and Hey Thai came up, so we decided to give it a shot. The calamari came in generous pieces, heavily breaded but with a satisfying crunch, and the sweet chili dipping sauce delivered on flavor. The ambience leans dark with an abundance of artificial plants scattered throughout, giving the space a tropical feel that is either charming or a bit much depending on your taste. The staff was a mixed experience, some genuinely warm and attentive, others appearing less enthusiastic about being there. That is not unusual in food service and it did not take much away from the overall visit. One thing worth mentioning for the sake of honesty. The restroom needed attention during our visit. Pretty standard & traditional Thai menu with a nice drink section as well. This time around we ended up getting the chicken pad Thai & chicken pad see ew. The pad see ew was great, had a nice sweet but savory soy flavor with the flat noodles being the perfect texture. The pad Thai was mediocre as we've had better from other Thai spots. However I do feel like the food did taste better the first time around and probably because we had eaten there instead the first time around. We got the Hey Thai Platter to share along with an order of Crab Rangoons. If you're getting a starter I would def do the platter because it has a little of everything and plenty of sauces as well! My fav of the platter was the golden bags. Also, their crab rangoons were kinda...huge. Which was a pleasent surprise. I feel like most crab rangoons are pretty small but these ones were not only big but seemed to have a lot of crab in them and weren't just cream cheese. I ended up ordering the drunken noodles with beef. It was so much food I could only take a few bites and had to pack the rest. A coworker had been to Hey Thai and said it was good, so decided to have lunch there. Kudos to them for being able to sit our party of 7 during peak lunch hours. They have a decent lunch menu which includes a soup or salad plus an entree. I had the tofu pad see ew, which is my standard order at most regular Thai restaurants. Found this place to have very mediocre Thai food. Only reason we came here was because they opened an hour later than the other options nearby (where we really wanted to go to). Was disappointed in everything we ordered. The Pad Kee Mao might've been one of the worst ones I've ever had. This was my least favorite meal while visiting NYC.
