After getting a few quotes from different roofers, we decided to go with Immaculate Roofing due to their professionalism and level of detail they provided us with before giving us a final quote for the job. They had to "redesign" how the tiles and rain gutters were on the roof due to the fact the water was pooling in various areas causing leaks in the house. A few weeks after the job was completed, the rains hit and there were still problems. We worked together to find a solution. They proposed three different solutions and eventually the problem was fixed. The job clearly wound up taking a lot more work than they had originally anticipated in the final quote as there were unforeseen problems that required a lot more time, material and labor. They eventually fixed the problems and never charged us more than their final quote. Very professional and clean from start to finish. I would recommend and use this company again. If Yelp had the ability to give 10 stars, that's what I would give Immaculate Roofing. Allow me to explain. I don't trust most contactors. I don't like most contractors. I put them on the same level as personal injury attorneys and people that kick dogs. And most contractors, if they're honest with you, will admit even they have been ripped off by other contractors. If you're reading this review and are considering using Immaculate Roofing, you probably feel in angst (like I was) deciding which contractor to choose. The author Hunter S. Thomson wrote this about the music business and I think it applies to the contracting business as well, so I've changed a few words. "The Southern California residential contracting industry is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long wooden hallway where pimps and thieves run free and good men's wallets die like dogs. There is also a negative side" Immaculate Roofing is the complete opposite of above. The owner of Immaculate, Derek, and his right-hand man Joe and office staff (Hello, Linda & Diana!) are amazing - Everything was done with 100% adherence to CA State Contractor Board rules in dealing with residential customers regarding payment schedules and change orders. Rare! -- From my first meeting with Derek he gave me ideas and options, gentle guidance and most importantly, knowledge. Never once did I feel like he was trying to bump me for extras. He explained the pros and cons of everything without a "you're dumb if you don't do it this way" attitude like most contractors - Pro Tip: If a contractor tells you sternly, "I've been in the business for XXX years! and this is the only way to do it!", it's actually code for "I've learned this is the best way for me to make the most money from you in the shortest amount of work time." All the workers were great. It was obvious each person knew their role and they all seemed to like each other. They worked at a steady pace with complete confidence and professionalism. No one was playing grab-ass. They were there to work and I'd say the average age of the workers was mid 30's to early 40's - Pro Tip: If the workers that show up at your house appear to be in their late teens or early 20's, there's an extremely high probability you're about to be screwed. Young = inexperienced and cheap to hire. The foreman Joe is also a true professional and handled all my questions, and I had a ton of them, like a master juggler. Never once dropping the ball. If I sent a text or left a voice mail, it was almost always answered within an hour or less. Never once during the entire process did I get a "Opps....we forgot to tell you" type of surprise. No one ever showed up unannounced. I was always given at least a 24 hours heads-up of any work to be done. Demo crew, underlayment, vents, flashing, shingles. Perfect. Probably the best ay to express my happiness with Immaculate is I actually ENJOYED writing them checks. Thank you Immaculate Roofing. Just go find yourself someone else to put your roof on. 7 year roof and it's now leaking! Their no solar panel clause will come and bite you in the butt even if your panels didn't cause the leak in the roof. We had them try and stop the leak 3 different times where they charged us $500 to repair it until they could get out here to "fix it". By the way I NEED A REFUND! I was told by another roofer the peak was installed incorrectly and that the roof was leaking due to the fact this company neglected to lift the A/C up off the roof to put shingles down. Even if they did supposedly lift the A/C unit off the roof they should have screwed in the bolts straight and not crooked! They didn't take responsibility for their mess up on my roof. We have been getting the run around about scheduling conflicts and for two months now! This began in December and they yet to fix our roof it still leaks! It has cause inside damage thanks to their negligence and here it is February and still in the same if not worse position. As someone who takes customer service very serious in. my own business, I would never ever recommend this company to anyone. Once they knew it was not the panels they should have sent someone out and gave us a deeply discounted rate to fix and repair our roof. But like I said I don't trust stingy customers. read more

When we first walked into the Immaculate Roofing show room little did we know that their owner and manager Derek Gonzalez would prove to be more than just a roofer, he held our hand through a major renovation at our home in Woodland Hills. Our challenge was to replace an aging roof, redesign the HVAC system, and match California meter spotter requirements for a new panel. Derek also offered us an option for solar energy, and we collectively decided it would be worth waiting while we got these major changes made. Every step of the way Derek's crew acted professionally arrived on time worked hard for a full day and allowed me to observe their work. (Before the edit, I'd like to address the response left by the owner.) A couple of errors I'd like to respond to: 1. The addition of the Consumer Protection Guide was missed? Seems like the type of oversight to avoid when instructions were quite clear. It was only given to us prior to the solar being turned on because it HAD to be. However, the guide said that we should get several bids before accepting one. I was forced to lie when signing, stating that I had shopped around for at least 5 other bids before settling on Immaculate. What could we do BUT sign if we wanted the solar turned on? 2. You communicate with Michael, correct? So then you should know that he was the one who promised to bring us the box saying "he doesn't normally do this", so she told him yes. We wanted him here in person anyway to fix the antennas. I was right next to her when he told her he would bring it. We only declined the box after we waited for him to show and he never did, so we had to buy it only to discover that it did NOT fix the problem. We informed you of that after the second phone conversation about it when we told Michael he broke his promise. 3. So, if the pictures I posted were of the rafter tails you offered to replace, since we were already buying extra wood despite the lumber prices, why wasn't it done? I was the one who informed YOU about the need to replace the disintegrated ones in the first place, yet you used aesthetics as the reason they DIDN'T need to be replaced because they didn't hold up the roof. We had the conversation about the inflated lumber prices AFTER it was clear you had no intention of replacing the disintegrated ones with the others with the wood we already purchased claiming it was the wrong type. We talked about adding it later only because the job was already done at that point, and I made it very clear I wasn't happy about it.) ***Now to the edit*** When LADWP came and told us we could now turn on our solar, they told us to contact Immaculate. I did so, and was told how EASY it was to get this done. The instructions they sent proved exactly the opposite, i.e. telling me to identify a lever that is NOT shown in the illustrations, so what to do? After several minutes of trying, I had to give up. Due to my disability (as well as my mother's) we are not able to stay out in the sun long without it hurting & making us feel like passing out. Contacted Immaculate, & was told that they would send a technician to get us fully set up, (It would have been nice to skip to that from the beginning as we have made it clear that we are disabled, so not appreciated.) and that they would be here by 1pm and asked if we would be available. I told them yes fully expecting them to show up . Imagine my shock when ten minutes to 2pm rolls around, they are a no show and I am fed up. I let them know how disappointed I was that they hadn't shown or called. My mother tells me that Immaculate calls HER, not ME about the email, saying they made an error and that it was supposed to be for the following day. I then get an afterthought email about half an hour later with the same apology, but the disrespect was complete. The techs arrive the next day (no masks), and I decide to ask was there any point to me trying to do this myself, and the tech admits that it's better for them to do it. What's with the misinformation? Again, we could have skipped right to this! So we went inside to wait, and the kicker is, it took the techs almost an HOUR to finish turning on the solar. But it's an easy setup, right?? ***To Immaculate*** When we tell you we'll let you know about contacting you about any extra services that we'd have to pay for, (i.e. solar panel cleaning that it's way too early for and possibly not needed because I've done my research this time. The panels are 3 months old, and month away from getting rained on anyway.) that doesn't mean send the guy the next day anyway, informing us that you're already here. That does nothing but waste your time and ours. We already informed you we had no extra money, (currently in hock for the 50k roof loan) so unless the service is free, why was he there? Don't get us wrong. We love the new roof because it was badly needed, and the solar panels were a good investment. That's why you got the stars you did. But unfortunately, that's it. I hope this has been as big a learning lesson for your company as it has been a complete eye opener for us. read more

The roof I was replacing was over 20 years old and had seen 20 Woodland Hills summers, there was no choice but to replace it. I had 3 estimates for the same material and warranty and they ranged from cheaper to incredibly over priced. Derek's bid was in the middle I got the material that I wanted and he added newer vents and a solar attic vent. He brought me samples of the materials and explained in details how the project would proceed. So, here's the deal in my opinion... Derek is a personable guy. The prices are in the middle. Maybe slightly lower than the middle. I'm not that sure because I don't get my houses re-roofed that often. I went with someone other than Derek once... the price was about the same, at least in the beginning. And by the time the job was over, it was 4K more than the original bid. So I will probably stick with Derek for my future roofing needs. Here's what I like about Immaculate: -Pretty much the only person I've ever talked to is the owner, Derek. (But that's also why it sometimes takes a while for him to get back to you.) -I've called a couple of times because of a leak or this issue or that issue... years after the original work was done... and Derek came out and fixed the problem, no charge. (Of course, it SHOULD have been no charge but you try getting hold of your roofer 4 years later!!) -I've called Derek and said, I think this roof is really old and may need replacing soon. Derek told me, "this roof is fine... I think you have a few years left on it". - On a different roof he said... "I think your problem is the flat area and the peaked area is OK". So I avoided having to do a complete re-roof and it's been fine. Is Immaculate Roofing perfect? No. But is any roofer or contractor or flooring company? If they were perfect, they'd never be available. But, based on my experience with Immaculate, having had Derek bid/evaluate three houses... he's closer to a five-star company than a four. I have had bids and meetings and roofing done by around 8 or 9 companies in the last 7 years... and Immaculate will be my first call next time. read more

It's been about 2 weeks since we finished our roofing job with Immaculate - this is our first home and this was the first time we've ever had to hire a roofer, so I think there were a few things that could've been better but maybe it's par for the course. The scheduling took a bit longer than expected once we had a contract, though we were okay with that. As far as price, they were right in line with what others offered but we felt better about their process and the workmanship guarantee they're able to offer as GAF Master Roofers. When the crew came to work, they were quick and effective. They did an okay job cleaning up at the end of each day (I wasn't wowed but it was suitable to feel safe going in the yard or letting the dog out). We had a complete tear off and re-roof (our home is quite old and didn't have underlayment, just the old old old cedar shake) and it took them about a week from start to finish once they got to work. While they were professional and quick, there were a few things where there was some lack of attention to detail and they had to come back later to touch up - particularly areas where some kind of spray paint had been used which left unsightly areas that no longer matched the home. They returned and made an attempt to correct it but it still doesn't look like a professionally completed task which was a little disappointing as this was a more than 15k job. All in all, I'd work with Immaculate again but would want to be prepared to ask about things like ensuring any touch-up work is well matched to the home. read more

Absolutely 5 Stars - My highest Recommendation!!! I had my tar and gravel roof completely stripped and replaced with shingles back in January 2018. I wanted to wait a couple of months to fully test the roof before writing my comprehensive review on yelp. Below are the reasons why I am giving Immaculate Roofing my absolute highest recommendation! 1) Superb Attention to Detail and Quality of Work - In a word, the new roof and new fascia boards looked absolutely great! As far as attention to detail and quality of work, I completely agree with what the LA City Inspector said (see below). 2) Top Notch Owner, Project Manager and Crew - Derek (the owner) and Mike (the Project Manager) was fantastic and was on top of things. The crew knew what they were doing and operated like a well oiled machine. 3) Timelines Met - In addition to fully stripping our old rock roof, we also had all of the Fascia boards completely replaced (which I definitely recommend despite the added expense), Derek said it would take 5-6 working days to complete the job, and it took exactly that long! 4) Pricing was Fair and Reasonable - Derek's quote was in the middle of the pack. We had received 5 quotes from local highly rated companies on Yelp. One thing that stuck out was Derek's proposal and quote was easily the most detailed. His quote was so detailed that it had provisions on what wood replacement would be covered by the quote. In the end, there were no surprises. We paid exactly what we were quoted. That's what I would call an awesome and accurate estimate! 5) LA City Inspector Feedback - I was working from home the day the inspector came by for final approval to complete the permit process so I asked for his feedback. I asked him what he thought about Immaculate's work and he said it was "great" and went "above and beyond" what was required and what he typically sees during an inspection. These guys set the bar high for themselves and then jumped right over it. If you name your roofing business immaculate, you have set some pretty high expectations for what is usually a pretty messy job. But that is exactly what they did. Everything was clean, professional, and incredibly well managed. Beyond their name and their tidiness, they were just an absolute pleasure to work with. Mike (our PM), Derek, Josh, Eddie and the entire crew were complete professionals. The delivered what they said they would deliver, they finished early, they left the site safe for my daughters at the end of each day, they were incredibly mindful of us during the work, they were responsive to my concerns and addressed every last one (usually going above and beyond), and they were just fun to have around. I found myself almost missing them after the job was done, lol. Even the noise was surprisingly less than what I was expecting which was a huge bonus when getting your roof done whilst working/learning from home. I honestly cant think of a single complaint, or even something minor to pick them up on. One thing in particular that stuck with me and was indicative of how they worked occurred at the very end of the project. There was a loose cable wire hanging off the roof that they were in the process of re-securing back to the structure during the final walk through. I have some painting to do on the siding, so I told them not to worry about it as I would probably need to take the cord back out and reattach later. When I said this, the carpenter had this look on his face of bewilderment. Mike explained to me that he was a perfectionist, and it would be hard for him to just leave the cable sitting there. I told him he was more than welcome to secure it if he wanted to, it just wasn't necessary. He went back up to the eave and got the cord tucked away perfectly. That level of detail, of pride in your work, not wanting to leave the job 99.9% done but 100%; that is incredibly hard to find these days and makes me feel even more secure about all the other work that was done. That's the kind of ethos you are going to get from Immaculate, a job done right. Immaculate originally quoted my 6 unit HOA at $40,000 even to re-do our entire roof. I asked the owner Derek for an updated quote which would include doing all the fascia boards, including painting. Next thing I know, Michael calls me to schedule the roof repair. During the call he tells the quote to redo the fascia boards would be an additional $2k. I say great, send me the updated quote in writing and we'll get started on the roof. Next thing I know, Derek and his team send me vague emails saying that we need to talk. No one will confirm Michael's verbal quote to me. Not even Michael himself! Long story short, Derek calls me days later and says that Michael didn't know what he was talking about and the quote he gave me was highly understated! Derek spoke over me, he didn't let me finish talking, then he said he had to go since he had another "appointment". He offered to call me back, which I declined since the right hand definitely doesn't know what the left hand is doing. We absolutely will not do work with companies that do not keep their word. If they are that flaky before the work starts, I would hate to see what other lies they will tell once they already get paid. read more

Aaron came out. He was highly knowledgeable and experienced and answered all of my questions. They started and were on schedule, and finished around the projected time. Derek handled our account in the back end and was very friendly and professional. If I had more roofs needing to be roofed, I'd call these guys in a heartbeat. read more
