Immaculate Roofing just completed a re-roof on my house yesterday. The process went smoother than I could have expected; I can see why Derek and his team have earned their stellar reputation. The first thing I noticed was that everyone is easy to communicate with, starting with Derek and the project manager, Michael, to the foremen who lead the crews that remove the old roof, repair the deck and install the new roof-I felt that I could talk to any one of them and get questions answered right away; they always had a great attitude and took the time to explain each step of the process. This is a rare quality (at least from my experiences dealing with contractors and folks in other trades), and I value this greatly. This good attitude was put to the test last Tuesday when, seemingly out of nowhere, we were hit by RAIN-the day after they removed my roof! I got home from work Tuesday afternoon to find the crew scrambling to put a giant tarp on my house (along with other material to shield the deck from the rain). I asked the crew if they thought there was any danger of rain damaging the attic/drywall and they cheerfully said they could handle it, which is remarkable given that it was raining, it was nearly 100º and very windy (which made nailing down that enormous tarp that much more difficult). I would have forgiven them for having a bad attitude at the end of that day but they did not-again, these are the kind of people you want working on your home. Ultimately there was no damage, thanks to their quick work. The end result was fantastic-they took care to replace any fascia and metal edges they removed in the process, leaving the roof looking pristine and presentable. They also did a great job cleaning up. I only wish Immaculate Roofing did more than just roofing, otherwise they'd be my go-to for everything else I will do for my home. I recommend Immaculate Roofing ...... they did a wonderful job on my Spanish tile roof, which was no small feat. I bought a 1929 Spanish Revival foreclosure, with extensive roof termite damage, so they certainly had a lot of hard work ahead of them! They completed the job within the quoted amount ... so thankfully, no major dollar change orders. It took me a year to gather quotes for my Spanish tile roof complete renovation (lift and reset). Being a single female, you have to be careful of inflated prices. I also follow social media, and would never do business with any company that cannot control their social media reviews (or any reviews for that matter). (Be careful, there are some real shady companies out there) Immaculate Roofing seemed to fit all my criteria ... and their price, while not cheap, was competitive. My roof was started right before all the rains hit ... in November 2016. With rain delays, etc., it took about 3 weeks to finish. The crew seemed very competent and efficient. Their communication (daily calls, times, and updates) wasn't the best ... so if that's important, you'll have to initiate that and stay on top of them. Also, if you have landscaping that is really important to you (I didn't), then you must make sure that they are really careful with their materials in your yard ... (and your neighbors). I did have a few minor touch ups after the job was completed, when we had major downpours. Immaculate Roofing responded quickly to my calls, and took care of all the remaining items. That was very appreciated! We recently moved into our new home in Topanga, knowing that it needed a new roof. Using Yelp and NextDoor resources, we narrowed the vendor list to 3 different, all well-rated roofing companies, and contacted them all to come by and give us a detailed quote. Derek, of Immaculate Roofing, promptly responded and we setup an appointment pretty quick. He arrived, as scheduled, and very professional and thorough during his inspection and assessment. He brought along comprehensive brochures/catalog of the various materials/options and explained them in great detail. I was very impressed with his level of professionalism, and also that Immaculate is a true family business: Derek is the owner, and his crew are full-time employees and not subcontractors. While the quote from Immaculate was not the lowest (of the 3 bids we received), it was the level of detail and follow-through (to my questions) that led us to select them. We were confident in the quote's details and coverage and felt comfortable knowing there would not be any significant surprises. You need to check out the attached pictures to realize our roof was a bit challenging: a 3-story A-frame. Not the largest roof (area wise), but very, very steep. So, there was certainly a premium to pay to keep all the roofers safe; and, we did not want any significant costs on top of that. So, we signed the contract and Derek contacted us a few weeks later, as expected, and they spent about a week onsite: removing old roof and worn solar panels, repairing rotten parts of plywood/sheathing, replacing fascia, installing leak barriers, drip edge, underlayment, new vents/pipes, flashing, "cool roof high def shingles" (in our selected color), raised ridge caps, seals, painted metal flashing and gutters. They were meticulous in keeping the site extra clean; even brought their own porta-potty! It looks like they even cleaned the windows after they were done. They stuck to their schedule, even while the Woolsey fire was nearby, forcing evacuations. Now, that speaks of dedication and commitment. Needless to say, while we were impressed and quite happy with the result; the Calabasas Building and Safety Inspector was too: as he commented afterwards: "beautiful job, and quite challenging because of that roof pitch". I hired IR because of the good reviews here. After my experience I must assume that they only do standard jobs well. The work on my house was not standard! However, they knew from the beginning what the issue was and ended up outsourcing this very part of the job (which I paid extra over the bid for - just to get it done). Derek doesn't work the job himself which almost always is a bad sign. Even the easy parts of the job got messed up, because a lot got lost in communication between him and his workers. I constantly had to check what was going on and if it was done right. I had to call after them to continue and finish the job. A lot of times they didn't show up when they said they would. It was an unpleasant mess - at times comical when I had to listen to him telling me "let me educate you in roofing" after a "no problem"-2 day job (his initial assessment) took them some 6 weeks to finish. read more

My girlfriend and I bought our house in November 2010. The roof had a major leak, but we didn't have the money to replace the roof until August 2011. The job lasted 4 days, and Derek's employees worked tirelessly under 100 degree heat to finish a fantastic looking roof. Derek was wonderful to deal with. I had to get a completely new roof to replace an old cal shake roof and I also needed new sheathing on the majority of my house since it was spaced. Needless to say it was a big job and was going to cost a lot. The estimates I received varied by over $5,000 from the cheapest to the most expensive. Derek actually gave me the cheapest estimate. Now, it's not always the best idea to go with the cheapest, but he had great reviews and I was not disappointed. Some things to watch out for when getting a new roof are the types of materials being used and the included costs. Here are some differences I noticed between Derek's bid and the next closest bid I received: Derek included radiant barrier, low profile vents, up to 50 linear feet of replaced wood, as well as adding a structure to divert water away from the chimney. The other competitor wanted $600 extra for radiant barrier, was installing dormer vents (those are ugly), did not mention anything about the chimney, and would have charged me for every foot of replaced wood (and his rate was double that of Derek's if we had gone over his included 50 ft). Both gave me a 50 year warranty, but the competitor was only including that as that "month's special". Immaculate roofing had a few unexpected hiccups and fixed a few extra things, but never charge me any extra than the estimate and the final price was exactly what we had discussed. They even installed two solar fans I had purchased from Costco and didn't charge me for it. Miguel the project manager was easy to deal with and he quickly responded to any texts I sent. I'm writing this review as I sit under my brand new, custom built Velux skylights and the relief of no leaks while I see rain pouring down. After purchasing our "fixer-upper" mid-century ranch home, we had the joyous *read crappy* burden of needing a reroof. This is where Immaculate Roofing comes in. Derek was one of five estimates that we got. He was not only the lowest, but was also the most honest, upfront and responsive roofer we contacted. Now for the job. In addition to a new roof, we also recently removed the dated HVAC system from the roof that left a gaping hole on part of the roof. Therefore, our job included rigid insulation (insulation above bottom layer of plywood), new skylights, new electrical conduit under shingles, a build out of the space where the old HVAC was, and an obscene amount of dry rot damage. We recently used Immaculate Roofing to re-roof a section of the preschool at our local church here in the Valley. I met with Derek, the owner, who personally came to do the quote. We have recently used their service and very happy, thankful about it. They are not just a trustworthy company but very genuine people try to make the customer happy. We have first met with Derek, owner of the company and you can say he is top of everything and know what he is talking about roofing. He was the last person I talked and he was very prepared for the roof he is offering. We went with Gaf Timberline shingles with 25 years Golden Pledge warranty they are offering for only Master Elite installer. Immaculate roofing is one of them. His price is very reasonable and he is not cutting the corners to make more money. Besides, he offered more than I expected to leave a happy customer behind. His supervisor Mike and the demolition crew showed up the first day as scheduled and it was messy and noisy as I have been told, but they cover and cleaned up everything before and after the job. Mike is also very responsible and a nice guy to work with. For the preparation, replacing the bad wood and installation of shingle another crew came and their supervisor Joe was also another amazing guy how he is handling the job, preparing the inspection, pay attention all the details and customer's requests. He went beyond my expectation like all the other crew members. He replaced all the bad wood and also Derek ask them to replace front side wood to make the house looks better even though it was an extra cost for him. In 44 years of of being a homeowner we can say without a doubt that Immaculate Roofing was the best experience we have had with any contractor... and crew! Friendly, knowledgeable and honest, Derek will walk you through the process without pressuring you into a decision. We chose to have our roof done in a Spanish style clay "S tile". The work was done with quality materials and workmanship. The rows were straight and consistent, the cement on the ends and at the ridge was neat and clean, and the roof in general looked immaculate. Immaculate Roofing just removed my old wood shake roof from 1981 and replaced it with a beautiful lightweight concrete tile roof. They took care of absolutely everything from tear-off to permit to new roof! They worked efficiently and cleaned up EVERY day after working.
