Was literally here not long ago and returning to do a review, but they are closed?!? It's so hard to believe because the lines are long and it's busy. The long lines almost deterred me from staying, but it moved pretty quickly, so glad I stuck around. Here for the BBQ and sandwiches. Excellent flavors and melt in your mouth meat. Decent inside seating area, but they also have outdoor seating. Everything from the bbq meat to the fries were cooked very well. Hopefully they reopen another spot nearby. Luckily they have other Smoke & Fire restaurants, but seeing one go is always sad.
My wife had an appointment with our optometrist so we decided to grab some lunch before we went. After looking at options in Yelp, we decided to check out Smoke and Fire. It turned out to be a great choice. The prices are very reasonable and food was excellent. The brisket was extremely tender and the tangy bbq sauce on the side was great. The Texas Toast was buttery and just the right thickness. Their brisket quesadilla was also quite appetizing and the portion was generous. We'll definitely consider coming back the next time we have another optometrist appointment in the area. The restaurant is located in a large strip mall that's quite busy but there is a lot of parking so no problems there. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself was very clean. They have a patio area next door if you want to take advantage of a sunny day. A good choice if you're in the area.
Casual barbecue spot with brisket, fries, fried chicken, and more! + Brisket Bowl with Street Corn and Pickled Veggies ($16.99): w ranch and comeback sauce. Brisket was very tender, good chunks. Street corn was yummy and sweet. Ranch was on the liquidy side and comeback sauce is like a tangy thousand island (7.5/10)
Let's all have a moment of silence for the OG Stockberger which is no longer on the menu (super disappointing as it was my husbands favorite item to get here). I was trying to think when the last time we came here was so it might have been gone for a while now. We settled instead for a brisket grilled cheese and it was about half the size that it used to be. I get that shrinkgate is happening but there's nothing worse than coming to a restaurant hungry expecting the large portions we used to receive and being completely let down. I tried the new hand rolls - they were just alright but they could definitely do with a crunchy element or something fresh to brighten them up. The fries were good but they used to put onions on them which was one of my favorite parts so that was disappointing. The wings were really good! I love a good buffalo wing and these were my favorite part of the meal. The staff were great, very friendly. 4.5 Stars. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Absolutely love all the outdoor seating options nestled in between the restaurant and northgate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] (Vs being right against the parking lot). Got the hand rolls (brisket) and brisket tacos. Both were delicious. A smidget pricey for the portions, but the quality was good. The hand rolls were a bit oily on the outside (but they are essentially egg rolls), but the meat was cooked super well (moist and tender). The Mac and cheese was inside the rolls, not on the side... not sure how I would have preferred it, but overall it would make a good meal or appetizer. Wish they were able to mix the meats vs making you stick with one meat for all the rolls. The tacos were in the blue corn tortillas. Pretty tiny in size but lots of flavor and same consistent good brisket as the hand rolls had. Overall I would come back for sure, especially with the pup. The wait was a little long to order and get food and it wasn't too crowded. But, everything tasted pretty fresh off the grill so maybe the wait is the trade off. I would recommend
On a Friday evening, we both got the brisket quesadillas ($13.99) and thought they tasted really good and filling. We shared waffle cut fries ($5) and both got a side on the house. I got mac & cheese. We got the smoked cookies and cream dessert ($5). It had cookie bits toward the bottom of the cup, but the ice cream itself tasted unfortunately bland. The staff gave us our dessert upon request after we finished then quesadillas. There were a few people dining here at the time, and the restaurant had sports playing on overhead TVs. It still felt relatively quiet inside at this time, so it could be a good spot for solo diners looking to have a good meal amid peaceful ambience.

Further, the brand boasts a dedicated line of cheekily named brews. Smoke & Fire operates cafeteria-style: place your order and grab a table, and then the staff will bring your made-to-order food once it has been prepared. The La Habra location is in a strip mall otherwise occupied by a nail salon and CVS. Enter past the illuminated fountain and the towering stucco archway, and join the queue to the left. The menu is displayed before the checkout counter on tall, vertical flat screens. Throughout the space, the cement floors are half-polished, and the walls and exposed ductwork are whitewashed with grey shiplap trim. Wall art ranges from poppy, movie-inspired portraits by a local artist to a faux-hedge with roses and a personalized neon sign. In the front of the house, black stainless steel chairs are pressed up to laminated wooden tables, while a single-file line of cramped booths stretches to the progressively narrower rear. Contemporary hip-hop echoes around the room. My family and I arrived for early weekend dinner, which seemed to be peak operating hour: every indoor table was taken, and the queue nearly trailed out the door. We opted for a handful of appetizers to share, followed by several dedicated mains. After placing our order, the apps took a surprisingly long time to arrive. The apps were each a compilation of Smoke & Fire's main meats and standard sides. The limited-time Smoked Street Corn Queso was pictured on the menu in a cast iron skillet beside a charcuterie board of black tortilla chips; however, it arrived in a small paper bowl with a skimpy accompaniment of chips. Nonetheless, the portion felt dense, gooey, and hearty, and the flavor was enjoyable smoky and corn-forward, if not relatively standard. Meanwhile, the waffle-cut Smoked Brisket Fries were sprinkled with pre-shredded brisket, Velveeta-esque cheese, and a tiny drizzle of deliciously tangy barbeque sauce. Unfortunately, the dish never truly exceeded the sum of its parts, and, despite our ravenous appetites, the fries became soggy before we finished. Right around the arrival of the appetizers, the cashier approached our table to share that the restaurant was out of beef ribs, and more were currently being shipped in from another location. He generously offered to make any additional items complimentary as we waited, and we took him up on the offer. We shared a round of drinks and multiple sides of Mac & Cheese to hold us over (probably a $50 value altogether). Another 45 minutes later, the beef ribs were delivered and our entrees arrived. My partner and I decided to split the Mac Rib. Based on its description and price, I figured that it would be enormous, and I wasn't let down. I could barely fit my teeth around the triple-decker sandwich, but my efforts were rewarded with an impressively rich and hearty flavorful combination of flavors. The remaining experience of the messy sandwich proved to be a fork-and-knife affair. Of the meats, my favorite was actually the juicy, grilled-onion smash burger, closely followed by the smokey but occasionally fatty beef rib. In contrast, I found the brisket to be tougher and lacking in flavor. The Texas toast buns were mostly forgettable and somewhat soggy, owing to the generous smear of Thousand Island dressing (which itself was welcomed to cut through the rich meat). Among the sides, the mac was appropriately rich and smokey, although the proportion of cheese seemed to vary by bite, while the cole slaw was light and crunchy, utilizing a vinegar base instead of mayo. Throughout the experience, the staff made sure to check in on our party during our wait, and they were excited to hear that I am an active Yelper, offering me their favorite photo tips. Our meal worked out to around $120 between the five of us (not counting the additional food and drink on-the-house). Overall, the barbeque was good, and, although the staff dropped the ball by not alerting us to the the beef rib shortage before placing our order, they handled the situation with generosity and poise. I may not return, especially if I can find an equivalent barbeque joint closer to home, but I nevertheless have more positive things to say about my experience than negative. If you are planning a visit, you must get the signature Mac Rib, and definitely bring a friend (or two) to share.
We came to watch the dodgers game & get some bbq Our cashier Caitlyn was knowledge, kind, and gave us a complimentary brisket mac n cheese that had great flavor BOGO everyday on beers so we got some bro water & hard lemonade that were good to sip on Food overall was flavorful, warm, and well portioned. Plenty of parking as well. Highly recommend
This place is super nice and clean. The service was fast and served with a friendly smile. Ordered the brisket and Lauren salad. Super delicious... but... the brisket was a little bit too fatty for my liking. That's the reason for the 4 stars. Everything else super perfect
The vibes are here but the food is mid. $46.88 on two sandwiches, one order of fries and two drinks. And then to sit down and see that there's a lunch special which is not on the menu. $10 chicken sando with fries and a drink. But nonetheless the review is about the food. The vegan sando was sooooo hard to eat since it was massive and I couldn't bite it like a regular sandwich. The service was great ! The gentlemen taking our order was nice.
Visiting Cali, and my friend decided to research places that serve Halal meat, and this place serves 100% halal meat. We ordered a bunch of different things and decided to share them. Smashburger - delicious, but expect salty/savory tones. Make sure you can handle that. Lauren's salad - a really refreshing and well-balanced salad, and the vinaigrette was bomb too! Brisket tacos - the brisket tacos were really delicious, with the tortillas being nice and Smokey. Nashville chicken fries - these waffle fries are perfect to soak up the coleslaw, pickles and cheese. The chicken was well-balanced with flavor and spice without being overly spicy. These were my favorite pick of the day. Drinks: the Smokey lemonade was AWESOME and the Bro Water Seltzer tastes like a watermelon jolly rancher according to my friend, so definitely recommend. Also, apparently, there is a happy hour, so definitely take advantage of that! The ambiance is amazing and laid back, and the music being played in the joint was definitely enjoyable! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!!

Super disappointed with the meals and service, starting from the minute we walked in the door the girl was not very welcoming or helpful. I'm surprised that this place specializes in brisket but does not have a basic brisket sandwich on the menu. They do have a brisket grilled cheese but that wasn't what we were going for. I even asked if we could get the brisket grilled cheese without the cheese, but apparently they don't do that.... Make it make sense... Why do you care if I have the cheese on it or not. I don't understand how you have brisket tacos, brisket quesadilla but don't have a basic brisket sandwich? Seems odd. In the end it didn't really matter because the brisket was terrible anyways. It was definitely not fresh (a dead giveaway was it was about 50% cold and 50% lightly warmed) pretty good indication that it came out of the refrigerator. It was also very dry and when I say "fell apart" it was more like crumbled apart. The one positive though was the mac & cheese! It was out of this world delicious, over the top amazing probably the best mac & cheese I've ever had. It was piping hot and cooked perfectly! I feel like it must've been a very off night for this restaurant, based on the majority of their reviews, I had very high expectations that it would be amazing. We were on the way to Downtown Disney and made it stop here! We tried another Smoke & Fire Social Eatery at Arcadia and the Arcadia location was definitely bigger than this location. Arcadia was also a sit-down restaurant, but this one is a bit more casual where you can sit yourself. I do prefer the more casual style for this type of place! We ordered at the front and the cashier, Jackie, was really kind and efficient. She even offered us these free pretzel bites! After we sat down, service was also pretty quick as we got out order fairly quickly. We got the smashburger, chicken tenders, quesadilla, brisket tacos, and the smashburger loaded fries to share. Everything tasted really good! The sauce they had was definitely unique to them, made everything taste so good! I enjoyed my brisket tacos and thankfully avocados wasn't charged extra. Tortilla was soft, and the brisket was soft and flavorful. The avocado with it tasted really nice. The quesadilla was also pretty nice as well, perfectly grilled! The fries were a bit hard for my taste, but everything tasted pretty nice as well. The pretzel bites, its something we normally wouldn't get, but it was surprisingly pretty good. The pretzel was really soft, and the cheese paired so well with it. Overall, this experience was really good! Especially the service here. read more
We ended up here after being in Yelp and seeing how great the reviews were. We were not disappointed. Omg, the food is so good! It's hard to find a good BBQ place near us. But this..brought back memories of Texas BBQ. The meat is so tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection! The brisket fries were my favorite! I got the cheese on the side but ended up putting it on the fries anyways. It's definitely going to be a regular for us! The service was great too! The cashier was super friendly and helpful! Amazing place with plenty of parking and seating inside/outside. Came on a Sunday night with a big (13) group and they ended up running out of brisket for some of us. Everyone got a free side of Mac and cheese! Tender and juicy! A bit salty for the brisket but overall amazing and great for price. Tons of options even if you don't like brisket (smash burgers, chicken, etc). The Mac is HELLAAAA cheesy. Someone got the vegan mushroom burger that was amazing, and even the medium was pretty spicy. Wait was like 15-20 but they bring it to you and keep to go boxes at the front. DEFFFF coming back and trying something new read more
Sorry for the bad pictures but the food smelled too good to not start eating as soon as it touched the table ! The portions were more than enough for the price ! The service was amazing. They checked up on us every 10 to 15 minutes. Big shout out to our waiter Rocco ! Made my experience a 5 star . Also whoever was playing music ! Good taste read more

I've hardly had brisket in my life but because my partner was craving brisket, we made a bit of a device to come here after seeing the stellar reviews. You order and sit down and the staff will bring you your food. Ambiance is great for hanging out and chatting, it's definitely very casual. Service was great and the cashier was very friendly! The brisket tacos didn't particularly stand out to me. There are definitely some interesting flavors and it pulls apart very easily but was not very juicy. My partner said the brisket was good for California brisket, but not amazing compared to the brisket he's had in the midwest. Brisket fries were great. I wasn't a personal fan of the smoked lemonade. I love lemonade but the aftertaste was a bit strange to me, I wish regular lemonade was there as an alternative option. read more

I've moved to LA and this place is really close to my apartment. As a first review down in SoCal, let's look a little closer into how good this place is. Location (5/5): This place is situated in a really good plaza. It has a CVS, a really good Northgate Market that I frequent for my groceries and , a popular coffee spot, and is surrounded by lots of foot traffic. Parking is plentiful and the area around is very clean. Atmosphere (4.5/5): The atmosphere here is amazing! I ate outside here with my housemate and they have a dedicated eating area right next to Northgate. Granted, the .5 off is because the heated lamps were unavailable but I'd say during the day that it is a beautiful experience. They have a fountain outside and fairy lights hang in the patio. The outside is very inspired by patio house architecture and I love the alleyway feeling without it being too claustrophobic. Service (5/5): The service here was really nice! Our order was taken by Natalia and they were extremely good at helping me order. They took our order and clarified a couple of things for me, which made it understandable for me when trying to choose some sides. Food (5/5): Food here is what takes the main stage and, wow, it was GOOD. I loved the brisket quesadilla and cornbread. The brisket was nice and tender with a bit of sweetness and not dry at all. The cornbread was really good, not too sweet but crispy on top with a dense crumb that I appreciate when eating a cornbread. Not a dessert cornbread but a meal cornbread which is exactly what I want. The show stealer? THAT POTATO SALAD. Oh my god, this is the best potato salad I've had from a restaurant. Usually, I hate potato and mac salads with a PASSION (substituting Mac salad for extra rice at Hawaiian food spots) but this one is different. Firm potatoes, creamy mayo mixed in, and spices that compliment the side rather than leave my mouth sticky, unflavored, and unhappy. If you come here, GET THE POTATO SALAD. Final Review (5/5): Overall, I would come here again! It's a casual spot that I always see when I go shopping and if I have a hankering for some barbeque, I'm glad to know a spot near me does it decently. read more
Ended up here for a quick lunch after grabbing coffee in the same plaza. Pretty empty on a weekend, which was surprising to me. Outdoor and indoor seating and they bring the food out to you. Decent menu that's full of what I would consider heavy foods. I wasn't in the mood for something heavy so opted for the brisket quesadilla. Came with some pickles on the side and a nice drizzle on top. I really enjoyed it and they didn't skimp on the brisket inside either, which I appreciated. Overall tasted great. They also gave a free side of mac & cheese, which was nice but I assume it was to entice customers to write a good Yelp review. I was going to write one anyway so this didn't affect me. Always delicious! Shout out to Rubi for being so helpful and friendly. She was also very attentive afterwards asking if we needed anything else. The food is still great, the menu has new items and some seasonal items. There are beer options as well. There are TVs with sports and news and the music playing always fits the vibe. The Laurens Salad is what I like to get, the only thing missing is a bit of protein in there... then I pick at my son's or hubby's plate to get a little of everything! Lol! Why haven't I been here sooner?! I've heard about smoke and fire for a long time and my bf loves bbq so we are definitely going to be back. Plenty of parking in the plaza and is next to a Tierra Mia and Northgate market. The service here is amazing. We were greeted by Cailyn and she was very nice while giving us recommendations on what to order. The other staff here were also all friendly and kind. There was a bit of a wait to get the food but it was very busy on a Friday night. We ordered the mac rib and had the Mac and cheese on the side along with the brisket fries. This is probably enough to feed four people. The two of us could've just shared the Mac rib and still probably wouldn't have finished the whole thing. Both the sticker and short rib were very well seasoned and tender. Absolutely phenomenal. The Mac and cheese was just okay, nothing too special about it. Next time we will probably just order the short rib on its own. I didn't really care for the mac rib sandwich as a whole. Bread was plain and the smash burger patties were okay. But the star was the short rib and brisket meat. The ambiance is very casual and clean. Perhaps next time, we might try the Craft location in Anaheim! read more

First time coming here but I've had their brisket before. My cousin bought their Thanksgiving special last year, the next day we were leaving for our camping trip and he decided to take the leftovers. Best idea, we made sandwiches and then brisket fried rice, best thing we had while camping. Today my husband called me when he got out of work, telling me he was starving and that he wanted meat or steak and I suggested smoke and fire. He agreed, we arrived and we each got our own meals. He went with the Mac Rib! He was clearly starving. I got the brisket tacos. We got sides of Mac and Cailyn even threw in a brisket Mac. We dined in, got settled in and then Cailyn came out with our food within a few minutes. Everything looked, smelled and tasted great! I really like their setup inside, good music and chill vibes on a Monday night. Will definitely be returning, might even order some catering for next month. read more

First time at this place. The cashier recommended 1/2 Lb Prime Rib Beef Brisket $13.00. The brisket was so salty!!!! And the brisket was so dry. It was like eating salty beef jerky. They serve 3 beef brisket with some fat layer. Even with the BBQ sauce it didn't reduce the saltiness and dryness that is eaten with each bite. The Mac Rib was really good but with a hefty price $32.99. It comes with 3 meats. The rib was so good, it falls off the bone. The meats was cooked to perfection and evenly sauced with bbq. I have visited Craft Smoke and Fire as well as Villains. We decided to hire them for our office catering, we have about 300 people. They were great with communication leading up the the event. At the event they were phenomenal about service! We had Tri-Tip, Chicken, Mac and Cheese, Street Corn and Cesar Salad. They did on site smoking for us. The Tri-Tip was extremely good! I'm from Santa Maria and these guys got it! Everyone was raving about their Mac and Cheese as well as their BBQ sauce! They are definitely top 3 for me! read more

This place is still going strong!!! That vegan mushroom sando is still my fave! That delicious fried mushroom that tastes like chicken! If you haven't tried it, run! Run and get one now! Since my last review, the best addition has to be the opening of Villians brewery ( co owners) and having these locally made beers on tap! My fave is the "I will never financially recover from this" Amber ale but keep an eye out cuz they are popular and the taps are ever rotating! I love the crew that works here! Always super nice and down to earth, Mathew!!. He was so much fun to chat with. People like him make smoke and fire an easy choice for dining. We came for Sunday night dinner and we're excited because the spot is pet friendly. They're is a nice patio area with greenery, fountains, and big TV screens. We placed our order at the counter and was provided a number so I ordered would be brought to us. The staff here is super friendly, attentive, and polite. They offered to bring our pet dog Vinny a puppy patty, which was so nice. Our food came out and Vinny devoured the patty but unfortunately our food wasn't a total hit. I ordered the Lauren's salad that was actually very good, it came with mixed green, raisins, candied almonds, apples, avo top with a nice citrus vinaigrette. I asked for grilled chicken to add some protein but they only had fried chicken so I went with that. The salad itself was very good and well crafted with tons of flavors, which I enjoyed. The fried chicken wasn't a hit, very bland and actually a bit dry. My wife didn't like her hot chicken sandwich, it was too sweet, it was probably because of the cole slaw. She should have ordered something else but didn't want to bother. The waffle fries were good! We'll be back because we enjoyed the service and outdoor patio atmosphere. My spouse, baby, dog and I stopped by while we were in the area for dinner. We ordered half pound brisket, brisket fries, smashburger and they gave us brisket Mac and cheese and a doggie patty on the house! Our server was Cailyn and took great care of us. The food was brought out quick and everything tasted great. We sat outside in the patio area where the scenery is awesome. This place will always be a favorite stop! read more

I was worried coming here that they didn't smoke their meats on site. However, everything that I had was very good. The breakfast burrito was the best thing here. I thought the smoked short rib was just OK a little bit dry. The Smashburger was quite amazing. Even though they don't specialize in burgers, but it was very crispy on the edges. The Texas beef brisket grilled cheese sandwiches actually surprisingly nice with the cheese wrapped around the brisket. I felt the service for F. Casual was absolutely amazing and maybe even the best thing here, Matthew!. The locations in a great location and the restaurant is fast casual so it makes it nice and easy to get in and out. read more

Food was good, and service was great. We ordered the smash burger and the Mac Rib, and the staff gave us free mini fries sampler that also came with a bit of brisket and cheese. I think their fries were pleasant. Mac Rib was monstrous. We packed the leftover and still was enough for another meal (with homemade salad since it's obviously an artery jammer...). The flavor was a bit tamed though; one side of the rib was fatty (greatness therefore) but the other end was very dry and tough. The double patties were overpowered by whatever on top, and I couldn't really taste the brisket. So this was a bit of a letdown. Smash burger did perform--it was a good burger and the meat took the cake. No unnecessary veggies to distract you from enjoying the beef. The look may be deceiving. Do give this a try. If you write them a Yelp review on the spot they'd give you a free dessert (which I didn't). If you Yelp checked in you'd get a free drink (which I did). The smoked lemonade was... interesting. We enjoyed the soda water. Why 4/5? While it was good, I asked myself if I would drive (far) for this. Probably not. read more

Nice looking place. It was too loud inside so we opted for the outdoor seating. The girl at the counter was very friendly and helpful. She even threw in some pretzel bites. Unfortunately, those were pretty hard. Not sure if overcooked maybe. But they came across like day old bread. They gave plenty of cheese sauce, but it was bland. My other half had the Smashed Cheeseburger Mac n Cheese. It was two pretty thin under seasoned paties over mushy bland pasta. The heavy drizzle of some kind of Sriracha based sauce couldn't give it enough flavor. My brisket quesadilla was pretty good. There was a good amount of brisket. They fried a little bit of cheese on the outside, but that seemed to be where most of the cheese was. I really couldn't find cheese on the inside. Overall pretty but lacking substance. read more
