Would absolutely NOT recommend this repair shop. Brought in a 2012 Mercedes C class sedan for what appeared to be an oil or transmission fluid leak. Was told it would take $1,700 to repair. They then pushed hard to replace the entire engine. Ended up taking Mercedes to another mechanic who found and repaired the car for $400 - problem solved. read more

I used their website to book an appointment. Showed up to said appointment on time and was told they had no record of my scheduling and wouldn't be able to get to my car for at least 2 weeks. NEVER AGAIN. Cannot follow simple instructions!!! Took my wife's 2018 E400 there for an A3 service as indicated by the digital information system on the car. Had been there several years ago for an alignment and was happy with the service. This is the first service for the car after the warranty expired and we felt they were a good option. BIG MISTAKE! Called to schedule an appointment and get a ballpark price for the A3 service and a new battery. Was told the A3 would run around $200-$300 and the new battery would be $400-$450. Sounded very reasonable so we set an appointment for the following week. Took the car in and later that day I received their estimate for the service. The A3 service came in at over $890 and the battery at $390. I was in the middle of a large job at home and approved the work trusting they would be able clarify the increase in the cost when I went to pick the car up. TRUSTING THEM WAS MY MISTAKE! Long story short they decided a more comprehensive B3 service was recommended rather than the A3 the computer in the car indicated. When I picked the car up, they told me this was based on mileage rather than the service the digital information center on the car indicated was needed. Note: The car's computer recommendation reflected the last service performed under warranty which was a B3 that was done about 14 months and less than 10K miles earlier. After a couple of calls, they did decrease the cost of the service by 0.4 hours ($55) to be the same as the A3 service. This visit resulted in unnecessary work (spark plugs and cabin filter) and cost to us for the work they did ABOVE the A3 requirements (specified by the car's digital information center). To show my appreciation to them for performing the incorrect service and handling it so well, I will NOT be doing any business with them in the future and HIGHLY recommend you do the same. Based on my review of previous Yelp! Reviews, it appears I am not the only person dissatisfied with their performance. read more

I took my daughter's jag in after a warning light came on. The guys diagnosed it and gave me reasonable rates for repairs. After speaking with my warranty co it was determined one major repair had to be completed at the dealership due to our warranty. I compared Import Car Center's rates with the dealership (sans the thermostat, which had to be done at the dealership) and they were much cheaper. So, thermostat was done at the dealership at no cost to us and brakes, alignments and other repairs were completed at ICC (at much less than the dealership was going to charge us) and were completed the day after we dropped it off. Both Ronnie and Jason are very accommodating and worked around our schedule. Highly recommend. read more

I have been using Import Car Center for the past 5+ years. The shop isn't the cheapest but they do nice work for a fair value.

When I told the service manager I had two other estimates that were lower and wanted to come pick up my car, he argued with me. "Parts from China...!" "Make sure you're looking at the tax!" "And what about the warranty. We offer a 2 year/24K warranty." Et cetera for 5 minutes. Once someone asks when they can come get their car, that's not the time to try and change their mind. It would be preferable to say ok and thanks, and let them know when the car will be available. Not super cool. read more

I have been taking my car to Import Car Center over the past several years but will NOT take my car there again. Not sure if it is under new management but my last 3 visits were horrible. My air conditioner stopped working in the middle of the summer heat. Import Car charged me for things that did NOT fix my car and required that I had to keep coming back for more diagnostics. Import added Freon to my car, charged me over $500 for that which did not fix my problem. I had to take it to the dealership where they are able to fix the problem which was the air condensor. This required that the dealership put Freon in my car after the repair. Import Car would not refund me the money for the Freon which I paid for 2x due to the incompetence of Import. Prior to this visit I took my car for a repair and they suggested another unnessary repair stating it would likely need to be fixed in the next year or so. Doing both would save me money on the labor. There was no discount applied for the labor. And, also in this same year, I took my car in for service and they said they checked/filled my fluids which was not done. read more

Check engine light on. Said the MAF sensor and filter bad. Spent 2500.00 plus with other maintenance. The car was returned with airbag light on and hole in back window which they said was already there. It was not. The check engine light back on after 3 days. Also larger scratch where they worked on the car. Use to be a good place but definitely not anymore. read more

The service to this place has gone way downhill. I made an appointment to get an oil change and was told it would take about 90 mins or so, since I was dropping off my car I thought coming back to pick it up 2 hrs later would be suffice which I did mentioned it the guy that I will be back in 2 hrs to get my car. When I came back after 2 hrs expecting just to pay, drive it off. They were no where near completion, I had to wait another hr this is with AN APPOINTMENT. To take over 3 hrs for an oil change is ridiculous, this place is now run by incompetent people that doesn't know what they're doing sadly to say. When Brett was there, the service was great with everything done as promise. I would give it negative star if I could from now on I will be taking my oil change back to the dealership. Beware! Don't waste your time and money going to Import Car Center, they are all about find false issues with your vehicle and charging you an arm and a leg. To top it off the service manager and I believe owner, Bret is the rudest 'service' person you'll encounter. My Land Rover went in to fix a broken hose in the coolant reservoir which they fixed for $120.00. Then They proceeded to tell me that my break fluids and power steering fluids were the worst they had ever seen. Especially since I had replaced the breaks three months prior and had the fuel drained and replaced. I left there and took the car to another highly recommended import auto shop who tested my fluids and confirmed that they were fine. When I sent an email to Bret the manager to let him know he basically told he didn't care about my business. Is this the sort of place you would want working on your expensive automobile? read more

I first brought my cars in for repair there in 1990. I have three BMWs with an average age of 13 years old that all operate like when they were purchased. I continue to bring them back as needed for even complex repairs. First I would like to speak of service. You can always get someone on the phone to discuss your repair. No team of arrogant service writers here, who never even answer their phones. The front office people have been there for a number of years and know their customers. They can nearly always get your car in for repair within a day or two. They are always friendly, and have no doubt become friends with a number of their customers. Their repair rates are less than the dealers. They will always let you know all repairs to consider to keep your car running like new and inform you which you can let slide for a while. Quality of the work is excellent. They check it out thoroughly before completing the job. So repaired on time, right the first time, with friendly service and less than the dealer charges. I purchased a single-owner ML320 from a retired gentleman with just 70K miles on it and obviously was looking for an honest and skilled mechanic to maintain it. The prior owner, and his daughter, provided every single repair invoice or record since new. Once past warranty with the dealership, I could see all work was performed by Import Car Center (ICC) in Grapevine and the daughter praised their integrity - she handled many of her dad's personal affairs so had dealt directly with ICC. Face it, European sedans and vehicles can be incredibly expensive to maintain and fix. I wanted to find a trained and experienced mechanic to work on this ML320 - not someone who just completed a training program only understanding they replace parts based on trouble codes. Import Car Center has met or exceeded my expectations on every visit for being skilled and honest mechanics. Along with every oil change, ICC performs a multi-point (32?) vehicle inspection and list what issues they've found and provide a written estimate to fix the issues as part of your oil change service. Best of all, no high pressure sales tactics to get you to commit to and schedule the recommended work listed - ICC explains which are the critical items to address first if your finances are tight. (I have 3 kids in college and 2 have intensive medical issues that are more expensive than imaginable - another reason why the integrity of ICC is of such high personal value to me.) I believe the greatest compliment you can provide a business, especially a mechanic, is to refer your loved and treasured family to have work done by their business. I have referred my son with an older Volvo V70 needing an oil change - and we'll see what else - to ICC of Grapevine. I know they'll take great care of his vehicle and care of him as a new customer which in turn makes me even happier as their customer. The team at Import Car Center of Grapevine is amazing, I hope you move away from the dealerships to these experienced and honest repair shops such as ICC. read more

These guys went above and beyond! I just needed routine maintenance, state inspection, and my battery had died and was corroded. They did all that and cleaned the battery up. They were honest with me and said I did NOT need a new battery, and they weren't going to try to sell me something I didn't need. (Meanwhile down at the dealership they try to sell you kinds of stuff you don't need!!) These guys are honest and truly care about their customers. He even gave me tips on how to take care of my battery in the future, and they actually washed my car for me!! read more

Not the best experience here. Brought my car in after dealer service department provided quotes and cost savings over dealer cost was promised. However, the quote that came back was 2x the dealer cost. I agreed to have the battery replaced (rather than all services), and not only did the final price not match the quoted price, the cost for the battery was 20% higher than the dealer. Work seemed to be done well and quickly, but my reason for coming here was to save some money and I didn't. read more

This place is really not worth going to, as it is way overpriced, at least for a non-BMW or Mercedes. They charged me 47 dollars to diagnose a faulty gas tank cap, and then 25 dollars for the replacement the cap, which equals 72 dollars for a gas cap that cost me 5 dollars at another repair shop. The repair guy said that I was lucky that it didn't cost me 95 dollars to diagnose the cap problem. seemed somewhat excessive to me. They also recommended that I get the wipers replaced when I had actually replaced them 2 weeks ago at a previous shop in north carolina. I had just moved from NC, so that's why I had to find a new place to fix my car. They did fix the brake problem that was plaguing the car, so I cannot say that they don't know what they are doing. It cost me 860 dollars, which my previous Honda repair guy in north carolina said would have cost me 200-300 dollars normally. Since my wife had picked up the car, I went back to the repair shop to inquire about the 72 dollar gas cap and the gentleman told me that I was "nothing but trouble" and that the price was not up for discussion. Frankly he seemed angry that I could even bring up the possibility that the price was somewhat above my expectations. I asked him if he wanted my business and he was extremely uninterested in dealing with me. So I decided that I would never return to this shop. I don't think he realized that there are smarter strategies to build an auto repair business than to quickly turn people away who had just spent 900 dollars on repairs. read more

I had an Software upgrade package put on my Imported car here about one month ago. Soon after, I had my car serviced and it knocked the upgraded software off of my car's computer. When I questioned the manager, why he does not tell new customers to be aware of this possibility he was very rude and disrespectful. Further he told me he would charge me $75 to put the software back on my car. Keep in mind the upgrade was $1,200 and had not been in my car for even one week. When I reminded him of this he said that he had to charge me because "my time has to be worth something" Amazing, like my time isn't. He scheduled me for the reboot ($75 charge) one week later. When the day of my reboot came, he cancelled my appointment with zero notice. This place should be avoided at all cost. Plenty of quality place around who do this work. Negative 10 stars here. I would give ZERO stars but can't! Don't trust or go to ICC! They purposely detached vacuum lines from my mothers 2013 X3 for a routine alignment and inspection. They did not acknowledge, admit, remedy, or even apologize for the matter. I have a personal mechanic that does work on my cars and if it wasn't for him she would have gone back to ICC to get the issue fixed that they purposely caused. They were trying to take advantage of my senior parent who was only trying to get some basic work done. ICC is full of scam artists and they are always looking to make a buck on your vehicle. Do not even think about considering them. I took my own BMW to them in 2012 have not gone back since after the issues I had with them. They over charge and your car will have new problems it didn't have before because they are intentionally creating these problems hoping you coming back to them for them to fix and charge you money to fix them. I don't know how they stay in business unless they keep finding a new sucker all the time, don't fall for it and be their new victim! They are a racket and running scams on innocent people that just want their rides serviced. Save yourself the time and headache and find another shop! STAY AWAY FROM ICC!! read more

Closest thing to a $tealer/ dealer. I had taken the my car in for replacing control arm bushings and they did not even bother to check the year of manufacturing before giving me a quote. Then next day, call me up saying that the price of parts/repair is more. Asked them to put the car back as it was & they cannot do that since car is not in driving condition since the bushings broke when they took them apart. Nice!!! So I am forced to get it done. Rude, condescending service manager who should not be in front of customers. Talks to you like you he's doing you a favor since you are in his shop. Every repair breaks something else which made no sense and the manager spoke as if it's my fault. Go figure. Stuff which was working before broke when it entered iCC"s floor. Never again. We had an unfortunate lack of accountability on the part of ICC in not owning up to an error on their part regarding an old valve stem put on a brand new tire. Attempting to resolve the problem by upselling us was not an ok resolution. The puppet game negotiations between advisor and owner were completely unacceptable. I bought my 2004 Passat in for a #2 coil problem. After a so called repair that cots a lot of money, the car has the exact same problem that it came with. The car was therefore not fixed. There was without a doubt something else wrong, and they could not find the problem. I brought it in so it could be properly diagnosed and repaired but it was not. I was told that "we guarantee all our work for 12 months" but they did not stand behind their work. I would not recommend to anyone to bring their car into Import Car Center for any diagnoses or repair. read more

Not only will the owner BRET obtain your PHONE # from the system, (without your permission) and then attempt to inappropriately and unprofessionally TEXT message you and hit on you via text late at night. He might randomly send you pictures of some hobbies he likes to do,- IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY.. OR NIGHT. Or he might send you a picture of his big truck that he drives? or EVEN his favorite food he is cooking for dinner that night? Followed with finding it necessary to ask you a bunch of personal questions about yourself and why you might've tried taking your car to a different service center. Yeah, he'll ask you who they were and why you took them there! And then when I tried to have a serious conversation with him about why he charged me WITHOUT TELLING me, the bill- $60 or so,) and confront him that it was bad customer service... he sends me another inappropriate text message and accuses me of flirting??? Also, I am half his age- I am about 20 years younger than him. Yes, he's a creeper. This man Bret is an over-confident sociopath and will name off all of his "European credentials" any chance he gets. But he says it in a way like that annoying 'smart kid in the class' that we all hated. If you want good service and not get creepily hit on via text AND not get lied to, extorted from your money and conned--- Don't go here. They really need a negative rating in my case. I took in my 2012 BMW 135 (N55) on 4-6-2016, as the shop is convienently located near my office. It had a problem with a really rough idle whenever I came to a stop and/or accelerated from a stop. ICC told me I needed an $800 walnut shell blast to clean the intake valves. I did a little research. Not only was that an excessive price for a walnut shell blast, it was unnecessary. The previous engine on the 135 (the N54) needed this type of service, but not my engine. When I brought this up they doubled down and said it certainly needed the blast. I was skeptical, so I took it to the dealership, they diagnosed the problem as a bad coil, covered under my extended warranty. I now no longer have that problem. I would not trust ICC. read more

I do not recommend this repair center. Have tried it twice. So disappointing as I was hoping to find a good option on my side of town for my BMW. Reviews on this place were mixed, some loved the place, some hated it. But I determined that those that hated it just were the type that weren't happy anywhere and decided to give it a try. Very frustrating experience that resulted in me picking up the car. I realize most places try to find ways to add additional services and don't have an issue. But not calling and informing of work in advance is unacceptable. I simply cannot recommend them. I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. read more

I've been bringing a variety of German cars to ICC for several years, on the recommendation of my neighbor. While I can say that the mechanical work quality has been satisfactory, dealing with Bret leaves one cold, as he's always and not too subtly padding the bill. In a more egregious example, I recently brought one of my German cars in for work needed on 4 separate issues, and I was given a fairly sizable quote for the entire scope of work. When I opted not to do the 2 most expensive pieces of the quote, Bret proceeded to change his quote on the fly at his computer, increasing one of the remaining pieces by 50% and doubling the problem 'assessment' fee, even though the work had already been completed and was included in the earlier quote. His response was that his earlier quote was only a 'preliminary' estimate and furthermore, that I should be happy because he wasn't charging me storage for my vehicle and besides, the dealer would probably charge me twice as much. I suppose it may be asking too much to get sound mechanical service AND ethical business practices, but I'd recommend you keep looking unless you're really desperate or you don't mind feeling like a sucker. read more

After long consideration, I have decided to write a negative review on Import Car Center. We have a 2010 Honda Pilot that's out of warranty . Wanting to find a import car service center that we could trust and bring our business to Grapevine we found Import Car Center. On Tuesday May1st, 2013 we took our Honda Pilot in for a free estimate. We told the cashier/Check in employee we needed sixty thousand mile tune up and our brakes looked at. Later that day we got a estimate for approximately for $1,800.00. Quickly realizing we were being taken my husband told the manager no thank you and that we couldn't spend that much money and we would be there in the morning to get our car. Wednesday May 2nd, 2013 we entered Import Car Center to retrieve our car. With the surprise of a $98.00 bill. The same male cashier that checked us in said we had to talk to the manager. We waited for him to get off the phone to ask what the $98.00 fee was for. He seemed very irritated by our inquiry of the fee and became hostile towards us. Realizing our conversation was escalating we asked to speak to the owner who was watching the whole conversation unfold. To our shock he was not interested at all in our complaint of paying for a FREE ESTIMATE and about being berated by the store manager. We paid the fee for our FREE ESTIMATE and left Import Car Center. Completely amazed that a business in this day could even think of treating a consumer with such hostility. We would never go back or refer them to anyone. read more

Having been raised as an American is Europe, I learned very quickly that owners keep their car for a long time and after 19 to 15 years their cars still looks new and mechanically runs perfectly. Pride and joy. The team at Import car Center will have specialists work on your car and they will give you any advice, guidance on what needs done. no guessing game. You will feel good about it When I leave my keys with the team I am at peace knowing my car is in great hands. If you pay for a cheap mechanic, 9 times out of 10 you will get what you paid for. PLEASE don't skip this place if you want quality work. Also, if the job quoted turns out to be less you will pay less. No one cheats. I've been a customer going in 7 years. No regrets. read more
