My girlfriend was kind enough to book and prepay for a 90-minute deep tissue massage for me, and decided to book one for herself at the same time. The first 45 minutes were spot on. The original masseuse found the knots in my back, neck, shoulders, and left hip and went straight to work. But midway through the session, someone else entered the room and took over without warning. First off, her hands were freezing. Second, she was completely worthless--zero pressure, no deep tissue work at all, just loads of oil and light rubbing. She "worked" on my right leg, but did absolutely nothing to address the muscle tension. By the end of the session, I was drenched in oil and literally walking with a limp because my left leg had been properly massaged by the first person, but my right leg received zero actual treatment. To make matters worse, when my girlfriend (who had the same masseuse for her entire session) approached the manager about why my therapist was switched, the manager's excuse was: "Oh, because it was her turn." No apology whatsoever. The manager just casually said, "When he comes back, he can request the full session be with the original masseuse." There will not be a next time. Terrible customer service, zero care for a client in pain, and completely unprofessional management. I would never recommend Thai Spa on Eastern Ave.

They kept leaving the room and yet we asked for 90 minutes but only got 60 minutes of massage time. At one point, a guy came into the spa yelling in Chinese and once again the man left the room to go upfront and yell back at the man for ~4 minutes which startled both me and my girl, not to mention was very unprofessional. We let them know how disappointed we were however, it gets worse because a few days later, I developed a hematoma on my back. It is still there for over a week which tells me they most likely aren't properly trained or licensed. Never go there, it is not worth the trouble or the risk.

DISGUSTING! WOW! So I made this appointment weeks in advance and I got there about 20min early. Then I checked in and they told me my account was locked probably because I have multiple accounts (I think they are just talking about the extra account I had for my dad) and that I needed to sign something so I did. But they said they needed to talk to their manager. I waited in lobby for about 10min. Then they spoke to me and said that they won't be doing my massage because the manager said so and that she would need to talk to me. And I told them well this is really inconvenient because I live really far and it took me about 36 min to get here. When I told them this, they could not care less. They said there's nothing they can do because the manager but to not worry because I won't get charged like that's supposed to be some sort of compensation. I said well at least let the manager know I am very upset about this situation since the drive was long and now I have to drive home (which is another 36min). And they become very defensive so I said I just wish I could have been informed about this before I drove all the way over here and they pretty much said that it was my fault and not there's since they didn't know until I showed up which makes no sense at all since they initially told me my account was locked when I got there. I understand they are just the messenger but that's no way to treat a client. It would have been nice if they could have at least apologized about the situation or inconvenience but they never did. That's customer service 101. I run a business and I would never treat even my worst client that way. Very disgusting way to treat a client. They told me the manager will call me but they have my word I will NEVER be back there or recommend anyone to that establishment after this. Very infuriating situation. read more

I went here a few months ago and I gave it 2 stars because my requests were not met. However, this time it really is upsetting because a family member of mine was in a lot of pain because their profession can be grueling on the body. They have been in a lot of pain recently. So I decided to give this place one more shot. We got the best recommended massages for our situations and the massage itself was ok but the reality is my family is still in a lot of pain and they said the massage didn't help them out at all the following day. And I wasn't even really in that much pain before the massage but now I am in a lot pain and soreness which is odd because it's been several days removed now. The place was clean and calm but we only care for the results mostly. The part that is upsetting the most is that it is a premium price the total for everything was about $475 for the two of us. Which is insane to pay a premium price and definitely not get premium service. We will not be coming back. read more

Leah McBirney is second to NONE! I had my first cupping appointment with her at IMR. I was naturally a little nervous going into this appointment but that was noting compared to the excitement I felt to do this for the first time! I had read articles and seen videos on this time tested tradition and couldn't wait for my turn! I am a father of 3, a runner and I work full time. Through that my back has taken a beating. My lower back especially. I was asked to point out my problem areas so they could be focus on. Once the cupping began with Leah, I was surprised at how relaxed I was. During the cupping, there was a TRUE deep tissue massage being applied to the rest of my body. The combination of the two had me melting into that massage bed. My boyfriend offered to treat me to a massage for Mother's Day and I'd really been wanting to try out IMR as I've heard great things from some friends! The receptionist Arika was extremely helpful when helping me book & chose what massage would be best for me! I ended up choosing a hot stone massage and added CBD to the massage! When I arrived Arika helped me chose which CBD oil I would like for my massage. She explained the purpose of each one and I ended up going with the lavender for stress and anxiety. My masseuse was Matt Navarrette and he was awesome! He greeted me with a warm and friendly smile and asked me if there were any areas I wanted him to focus on. I got a massage here 2 days ago for the first time and it was the BEST massage I've ever had and I have had MANY!! Roxanne is a MIRACLE worker!! I've been heavy into sports most of my life so my body is rarely in perfect working order... There's never a day where I don't suffer from some kind of tension. I gave her a vague description of my sports history and the issues I was having and she INSTANTLY found my trouble spots. All of them. I swear after only 5 min I could feel my circulation improving cause I felt tingling in my hands and feet in a way that I've never experienced before, it was amazing!! I've been here a handful of times and I've enjoyed every experience. I've seen Meghan, Roxanne and Anna and they were all wonderful! Every time I come in the front desk staff delivers top notch service by offering water and making everything before and after the massage run smoothly. I started a membership here and I love the great price I get with it. I can't wait to try more therapists, IMR is the first place I've ever been to for a massage and I can't see myself going anywhere else. So far I've tried CBD, cupping and scraping as my add ons and I felt like I was floating after each massage. Please do yourself a favor and book an appointment here. My son took me here in December and I am very disappointed with the results. The massage was good (even though I was in pain at times) at the moment but the next day I felt as though I did not receive a massage at all. I work in construction and I am on the older side so I was excited and really hoping this would help me recover from all the dreaded pain I have had on my body. Normally I would not mind but I feel really bad that my son paid over like $450 I believe for the massages. And this is truly absurd to charge so much since the results simply to do not deliver. Got my first cupping massage yesterday with IMR massage and loved it! The massage begins with a therapeutic massage to loosen the muscles then cupping is added to targeted areas of discomfort and pain. What an amazing experience! My massage therapist was Leah, and she was extremely thorough and professional. Elliott did an amazing job doing the kinesiology taping for my ankles! Due to the strenuous nature of my job my ankles have been throbbing and shooting sharp pains that made my toes go numb on occasion until Elliott performed this service for me! I recently received an hour massage and couldn't be happier. The service was great from beginning to end. When I got checked in, they were very friendly and accommodating. I didn't wait long, but they still offered some water and got to sample some of their balms. During my massage, the atmosphere was relaxing with some soft music and a smell good ambiance. Even with all of the COVID things happening, I felt safe and taken care of. Between social distancing and hand sanitation for the clients it was very mindful. This was by far the best massage I've ever experienced! I was in town on vacation and had to experience cupping and I can honestly say it was worth every penny. After a great massage focused on a problem area, I booked a follow-up appointment with the Associate before leaving. As the date approached, I received no communication, so I called only to be told there was no record of my booking. Then, a month later (on the same date I had originally booked), I received a call from the manager, Karina, asking why I had missed my appointment. I explained the prior issue and that no appointment existed on my end. A week later, Karina called again to say they would "courtesy waive" a no-show fee. I reiterated that there should be no fee at all, as I never booked that date. I also explained an Associate never called me as they usually do to confirm the appointment and asked if their approach had changed. She responded that she needed to pay her employee and close her books, which missed the point entirely. She also mentioned an email had been sent - I later found it in my junk folder, but I had no reason to look there for an appointment I didn't make. Had I seen it, I would have contacted them to correct their error. While I've had positive experiences at Lapis & Oak, I'm disappointed in how this situation was handled. I understand mistakes happen, and I'll take steps like booking directly through their website rather than with a person and checking junk folders more often. However, what I find most frustrating and the reason for this review, is the lack of accountability and the tendency to shift blame onto the customer.
