My boyfriend and I were starving so we decided to eat at this cafe before grocery shopping at Aldi across the street. It's a small, clean cafe, but there is tons of seating upstairs so don't be fooled. I ordered the house salad with chicken. Usually when chicken is served on top of salad at a cafe I have low expectations. I expect the flavor to be subpar and for the chicken to be dry. This chicken though? Honey it was hot, flavorful, and fresh! The salad also had candied walnuts and goat cheese--both of which managed to taste fresh as well. NEVER AGAIN!!!! Wipe this place off my list. And i will make sure everyone i know, knows this place service is horrible Entering i was greeted by the male worker that also took my order for food and coffee. I clearly explained what i would like, paid and sat by the window until my order was ready. There was also another worker, female, that was helping and bagging the food. But before doing so i walked over to the counter to check my food order to make sure it was correct before i leave. When i ask to check the food, the response was, with attitude, "I'm checking it" so i said again, i want to check the food, as i see from what was there, it was clearly wrong. The female shoves my food containers towards me aggressively. I paused and ignored that for a moment as I began to check what was the results of my order which was confirmed wrong. So i proceeded to let the women know what my original order was and as im talking she cuts me off again, and even more aggressive this time. To tell me "this is what you paid for". Which i responded i know what i paid for but the order isn't correct. Now the male worker that took the order sees the problem and stands by her after making a coffee for another customer. With the posture and facial expression of one that is pissed off for some reason. I never said a word to him until I decided to cancel my order because of the female lack of training, attitude, aggression, sarcastic responses, and unprofessionalism, shared no concern for providing a first time customer any hospitality. Shared no concern with what my needs were, yet never really listened to anything i had to say. She did not care that i cancelled my order nor that fact that i said i was a first time customer and the male worker said "and hopefully it's your last". My unmoved response was, you can count on that. As i was about to leave another male worker came out that may have been one of the cooks or im my mind the owner, which i asked was he? He said he wasn't. I asked for the owner and he stated "the owner wasn't available at this time" and asked "was everything is ok." I started to explain what happened but decided to move on before this goes really left. I promised them an awesome review and here it is. The counter workers where white and were extremely ignorant to say the least, when I simply asked to review my order. There was no reason for that type of service that I received. The potential cook that came out who was black, showed more concern about making what was wrong right. From what i can see the food looked good but i never got the opportunity to find out. Compliments to the cook that cared and the 2 clowns at the counter should be fired immediately!!!!!!!! I truly did them a favor by leaving when i did! I never been treated this way at a restaurant, NEVER! I mention the race of the workers because the folks that did come in to the restaurant weren't treated in that fashion. read more

I went there on the first day they had the full menu available. Sandwiches, a wide variety of pastries, soups: it's pretty straightforward cafe fare at a good price and high quality. I thought the latte I had was every bit as good as ones I've had in Center City and Manayunk. I gather that the breads and some (if not all) pastries are by Le Bus. They use Illy beans and have a nice selection of non-coffee drinks (Fizzy Lizzy sodas, etc.) There's a surprising amount of seating for a relatively small storefront, and things are designed such that it's filled with natural light despite having no south-facing windows. I can see it feeling a little tight when all the tables are occupied, but that's a pretty minor complaint. All in all, it's a very nice addition to an emerging neighborhood. read more

It's a neighborhood breakfast joint with no frills. They bring in their bagels from from somewhere else, and they aren't very good. Maybe I'm just not a egg bagel sandwich type of guy, but wasn't a fan. By the time I opened it from the wrapping 5 minutes after I got it, it was soft and chewy when I asked for it toasted. Regardless, if I need something quick, it's a decent place to go. My favorite thing to grab here is actually a side of lox for when I don't have any at home and I'm making my own breakfast. Located in The newly developed Brewerytown area, Imunch is a coffee shop with a really nice conference room and dining room upstairs. Their menu provides breakfast and lunch options with a some of the best sandwiches you can find in Philly..it's like a little know secret ready to be told. It's not too far from the zoo and in an area that is being developed so I see them being very successful once people catch wind of what they have going on. Salmon cake sandwich is delicious. Avacado, lettuce and tomato ALT..and their black bean burger wrap/sandwich is ridiculous.. Everything made to order and fresh everyday..they serve your breakfast favorite but it's a step above diner food..it's more like brunch at a too notch hotel but without the Mamosa. I had never heard of or seen this place before so I can honestly say it was a pleasant surprise when it popped up in a Yelp search. I ordered a ALT (avocado, lettuce, tomato) on multigrain bread. It was delightful. There was an entire avocado on my sandwich, which was fantastic. I was so pleased with my order and they served me fast as well. The food is made to order, and it was ready really quickly. (Like, I sat down, opened my email, started to draft something, and didn't get to send it because the food was already ready.) They're halal, so your options are beef or turkey if you want bacon. I'd never had beef bacon before, and it was great! Staff is friendly. The iced coffee was nothing special, but not at all bad. The most impressive part for me was that the food actually looked like the pictures posted on the website. So no bait and switch here. The smoothie I had was delicious as well and served as a refreshing chaser for the food I had.
