Employees are so kind and the ambiance was lovely! My friend took me here as she really likes this place and there are so many options and spots here to get work done. The coffee was also so yummy and the food looks amazing! I especially took note of the red velvet muffin and the cinnamon roll

This place was like Disneyland for Greeks! It is a cafe/restaurant/bakery/hangout. They have everything from spanakopita, to pastitsio, souvlaki, Freddo Cappuccino, and even gemista! They also carry all the standard Greek chocolates and cookies as well as Greek sodas. Dimitri was very nice and hospitable! I can't wait to go back and try the rest of their menu!!

This is the perfect cafe - they have tons of seating, good drinks at a reasonable price compared to other places in the area, and a plethora of food options! WiFi isn't super fast but is available (password is GTGPhilly) I came midday on a rainy Saturday and it was packed, which I expected, but I was still able to find a seat. I got a drink and baklava to have a snack while I worked. The baklava was two huge pieces. I told myself I would eat one now and save the other for later, but it was so good that I was tempted to eat the whole thing right then! The cafe was half students working and half people grabbing lunch with friends. It's definitely not a quiet place, but I personally liked that. They have wifi and very clean bathrooms. This is about to be my new go to spot in UCity!

Loved it here! The staff behind the counter was friendly and gave us recommendations since it was our first time there! I got a bowl with half rice, half potatoes, beef, zucchini, broccoli, and the salad on the side. I also got baklava, where the man behind the counter scooped up the sugar syrup and extra pastry bits in the serving tray into my to-go container. If you're in the area, I would check GFG out! They serve coffee and have plenty of seating if you're looking to do work somewhere.

Absolutely delicious and authentic Greek food close to Longwood Gardens. Best food I've had since becoming vegan. My only suggestions would be to add fries to the gyro and also play some Greek music :)

Also they now stopped playing greek music....and the vibe is not the same. However this place is still rocking its desserts as long as it doesn't change them. We usually come for desserts and beer. Staff is okay, we have our two favorites from the old crew (they are super nice & work hard) But There is one person, however, that floats between this place and their sister location cross the street, and he has never been nice, although we are regulars and everyone else who is from the old crew knows us. We usually are easy, friendly, don't ask much, tip 20%, and leave fast. But this person, let me tell you....horrible attitude every single time. Usually we see him at the bar. Sad, because he may have spoiled it for us.....I hope it doesn't happen to others customers. Suggestion: come for dessert and beer & sit outside, probably your best bet. That's what we'll do from now on most likely.

We got the IOS chips, spanakopita, beef & lamb flatbread, hummus with pita, Greek salad, halloumi, and a dessert I unfortunately don't know the name of. Not a single bad dish, everything was excellent . I've had my fair share of tzatziki, and not to be dramatic but theirs is next level! Our waitress was also so sweet. She checked on us regularly even though it was a busy Saturday night, and she helped us pick our dessert. Unfortunately for me, I don't live in Philly, but I need to come back here asap.

This time around we ordered many menu items to share once again. I definitely recommend this method with the way this menu is written! Trying both meat and seafood dishes, we have come to the conclusion that Almyra seems to do better with seafood than meat dishes, though this is not to say the meat dishes are bad. For dessert, my brother got the Budino again and my dad got the Baklava. The Baklava was unfortunately dry and hard, so while this is a classic Greek dessert I would opt for another dessert here. The dessert was made special, however, complete with a "Happy Birthday" design on the plate and a sparkler for my dad. The service was once again excellent. Our waitress was very attentive, upbeat, and helpful. Lastly, having come in the winter last time the restaurant was busy, but slightly more toned down. On this summer Saturday night the restaurant was very loud, which made it hard to hear conversation. This is a small thing, but something to keep in mind if you are looking for a more intimate dinner! We will definitely be back to Almyra again! I recommend giving Almyra a try and don't forget to order the Horta!

I was really happy with the lamb. It was very tender and flavorful. It also came hot out of the grill. It didn't have a "strong" lamb flavor and was slightly smoky. The rice was super fragrant. I think it had a lot of butter or oil so it felt moist, and the carrots/raisons inside were a nice touch. The food went really well with the three sauces. I came here solo and ordered quite a bit for one. The food looked beautiful, but a few things…read moredidn't match the experience I was hoping for. I started with the fresh tuna appetizer. The sashimi itself was underwhelming, but the wasabi, ginger, and seaweed added much needed flavor. I also tried the salad, which included sweet beets that weren't mentioned on the menu. The description said roasted, but I couldn't taste that at all. If anything, it tasted more like sweet and pickled flavor. I ordered the Ciuppin next. The server warned me it would be spicy, but it arrived almost completely bland. I had to ask for extra black pepper just to get some flavor. The mussels and shrimp were very good, but the pasta / sauce ratio was off. There wasn't nearly enough sauce to coat the pasta, which left the dish lacking flavor. From the photo, it looks like the sauce would cover everything, but once you start mixing it, you realize it doesn't go far at all. Then I ordered the warm apple cobbler for dessert. I was expecting something baked and comforting. Instead I received uncooked oats mixed with cooked apples and a scoop of ice cream on top. Why is this called warm apple cobbler on the menu? And why didn't they explain in the description that this contains uncooked oats in every bite? I was so disappointed because I don't eat oats and certainly would not have ordered this if I would have known. It resembles a breakfast granola bar rather than a cobbler. It felt lazy and misleading. I paid for my meal using my phone. After I left a tip and completed the transaction, the server told me, "We usually don't accept anything less than 18%," and pointed out that what I left was much lower than what they expect. Then she walked away without another word. Even though the menu clearly states that only applies to parties of six or more. I was dining alone. Tips are earned, and honestly, the food wasn't that good, especially not after being served a trail mix dessert pretending to be cobbler. I was surprised she questioned the amount I chose to leave for a solo meal, especially after everything was already processed. I shouldn't have left anything at all. Tipping is optional, and the experience just didn't earn more.
