I've had their apple pie matcha latte previously and the strawberry basil matcha latte--delicious (I'm not generally a matcha person) The regular biscuit is buttery, tender, and dense; love the honey butter That sweet potato biscuit is yummy!! I tried a piece of my friend's and I wish I had the option to sub it for my fried chicken biscuit That sweet potato cinnamon roll is DELICIOUSSSSS; it has a strong citrus flavor which I really appreciated and did not expect!! I really enjoyed my breakfast at Out West. Very cool vibe, helpful and kind staff, and the food was really good.

I had a great experience with the customer service at this restaurant. The interior is very cozy, and they offer modern outdoor seating with a beautiful fireplace. Both the food and coffee drinks were exceptional. I particularly enjoyed the braised brisket sandwich, which was delicious! The horseradish aioli, grilled onions, and egg added a nice touch, although I felt the sandwich could've had a bit more meat. My friend tried the lamb scrapple sandwich and enjoyed it as well. We also got the apple pie matcha and the Dirty Banana Matcha Latte. Both drinks were rich in flavor and truly unforgettable. I will definitely be coming back! read more

Loved this spot and cannot wait to return! I spoke with about 4 members of the staff and all were super welcoming, helpful, and just all around made my experience feel fun. The first thing you notice, aside from the local art and little marketplace items along the walls, is the fabulous SMELLS of coffee and food! The sandwiches are stacked beautifully-- tall without looking comedic, and the drink menu is not just creative, but thoughtful! I'll gladly go out of my way to come here on a nice weather day. I live near Center City but don't mind finding my way here either by SEPTA or other means, I chat with the neighbors here, shop owners give me a hello or wave, and as a guest in the neighborhood I like meeting new people. Out West, I can't wait to see how your space grows. Big believer that a coffee shop like this is such a great thing for a community to have as a third space. The world around us is on fire, but people still need to eat good food, drink a tasty treat, and we take space and make space for one another. I like that a classy place like this is establishing itself in this primarily gritty part of town from my quick observation. This particular section is in an area that is hoping to gentrify where is in sandwiched between another section that maybe gentrified a bit and another iffy section. There is a nice upstairs and a separate outside courtyard at a different path. I didn't notice the egg in the IG picture for the brisket until I got the sandwich and it works. Were there sauces to choose for both the biscuit and burger? I didn't notice any but maybe there were. I think that would've put this meal over the top for me. The avocado lemonade was fine. This jawn is everything. Very creative menu. I had a tough time choosing a breakfast selection, so many choices. I chose the lamb scrapple sandwich with strawberry jam and an uber latte both were made to perfection. The space is absolutely beautiful and fun. When you go in the backyard you forget for a second that you are still in the city, it's a quiet oasis with fun and elegant seating with gas controlled fire pits, lounge chairs and picnic tables; to accommodate adults and children. Was running some Saturday errands and stumbled across this little hidden gem so I decided to stop inside and grab something to drink. Let me start by saying the customer service here was incredible; I was greeted with a warm smile, given an explanation of the menu along with a few recommendations to try. I went with the strawberry basil Matcha latte which was pretty good; maybe next time I'll ask for more strawberry or to sweeten it a bit, but nonetheless I demolished this in less than 10 minutes. Had the opportunity to check out the upstairs and it was a nice amount of seating to maybe stop by and have a coffee date with friends, but I'm not sure how much work you'd get done on a Saturday (can't speak for the week as I haven't gone during the week yet) but it was quite nosey and kind of hot in there too.. Nonetheless I see tons of potential, and I believe that this business is next up!! As a loyal diner of Down North pizza, we had high hopes for Out West. Our first trip did not disappoint. The space is a brilliantly renovated home, with seating upstairs and on the spacious patio out back with caribbean resort vibes. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly, while service was quick - within ten minutes to receive our meals and drinks came just after ordering. We had the avocado toast and veggie egg sandwich. Both were generously portioned, seasoned perfectly, and packed with freshness. The vegan cinnamon roll was as good as it looked. The cherry on top is knowing that this tasty spot, like its mothership Down North, hires people who may be turned down by other jawns due to prior tangles with the legal system. Great location, great vibe, coffee is decent, food is super impressive, they do vegan stuff well alongside meat stuff - it's clear the chefs take food seriously. A bit pricey, but I'd rather support something local and Black owned. My only plea is that they rethink the layout on the ground floor - it's pretty awkward and in- accessible, it puts your customers in each other's way. If they had the cash register facing the front, and the pastry shelf along the side it would be much better, cause right now if you're ordering facing the cashier you have nowhere to stand that isn't blocking the path to the back, and also you have a counter with seats at it behind you, which cannot actually accommodate anyone sitting there while somebody is facing the cashier . So everybody is constantly apologizing to everybody and moving around while trying to not be in each other's way, but also still wait for their food. read more
