If I could give this company a zero, I would. I was referred to them & they had great reviews on here, so I thought they were legit. We were supposed to move on Sunday, 5/30/2021after following up & confirming on Wed, 5/26. I texted James the morning of the move to ask for an ETA. He called & said that his crew (1 other person) was unresponsive & he was trying to get in touch with his back up, but suggested that I call another company. Call another company on Memorial Day weekend at the last minute when I called damn near 2 1/2 weeks ago?! I told him regardless of the time to please let me know if he was able to find a back up, because I wanted to make sure our furniture was moved in tact. He said he was able to get a guy, then when I followed up - that guy was unresponsive too. He said he could definitely come on Monday morning, 5/31/2021. I asked him to text & confirm. Earlier, I asked if I could still get the discount for the inconvenience-he laughed; I asked if they could drop our stuff off at Goodwill free of charge - he was receptive. He claimed that he had a contract with a furniture store & that he would get us moved. I said, "I hope so." The next morning, he & another guy arrived. He had completed the paperwork & asked for a copy of my driver's license, which I gave. In the hustle & bustle, I forgot to ask him for a copy of the contract. We showed him what all needed to be move & I suggested that they drop the stuff off at Goodwill 1st. James agreed & said the move shouldn't take too long. When they arrived to the Goodwill, they got turned down - even though I called on 5/30 to confirm that they were accepting furniture at this time. I told them to come back, put the stuff on the side of the house & continue the move. He said he didn't back his truck in, because the bricks on the side of the house "almost messed the truck up". They dropped the stuff off & without a word - left. I called him from different numbers, texted him, & he blocked all of our numbers. DO NOT USE THIS SCAM OF A COMPANY!!!! This was my second time using In Motion Movers. I had a good experience the first time. He accepted my last minute appointment, called me multiple times to verify the time. arrived on time and did my whole move in less than two hours. This time I had a move that I was unprepared for. They came and broke my furniture down, wrapped it, and set everything back up in the new place. All of this was done in the rain ! They were very professional and worked quickly. Im glad I decided to use them again because they didn't not disappoint. I see there are many bad reviews here but I've never had a negative experience with them. I definitely plan to use them again in the future and I've been referring friends because they are very affordable for the work that they do. read more

If I could -0 stars I would! This man is a complete scam. Any good reviews you see are fake. He's very sassy, argumentative and he ran off with my deposit. He starts off nice but weird. He makes up things as he goes. He took my deposit and waited until hours before I had to move to say I had to pay all the money UPFRONT before he even moves my things. He'll call you & start talking things that has nothing to do with you before he ask for more money. Then say it's his "policy" i have NEVER in my history of moving experienced what I did with this company. He does not have his own truck. He will ask you for more money upfront to go rent the truck and to pay his workers before they even start the job! He requested MORE money and I refused until he at least got the job done or started, and he got mad because I refused and continued to argue, curse me out and then finally hung up in my face. AND NEVET RETURNED MY MONEY!!! Run for you life!! Even If this is your LAST option, just go ahead and move it yourself. Booking with James Powers will be your worst nightmare and biggest regret. He will also convince you that all the bad reviews are fake like he told me. But I should of listen to gut before I sent him money. This is the most sassy man I ever met in my life! Please RUN!!!! I cannot recommend this company for the following reasons: business is not located in Walmart, damage to property, owner speaks badly about workers to customer, move not complete and owner reneged on reschedule. Owner will not answer or return calls. read more

WORST experience I ever had. Please RUN from this business and save yourself the headache. Acts nice at first but it's all fake bs and his true character will eventually come out. We agreed on a price, I sent my deposit and he tried to go up on the price that we already agreed on AFTER sending my deposit. If I was told up front about the additional charges I would have either never sent the deposit. Then to top it off, while trying to get on the same page with him as far as the price we already agreed on he decided called me broke, said I wasn't getting my deposit back and then blocked me and he wonders why his business is struggling b/c you clearly don't know how to keep your emotions intact and handle business professionally; reputation is everything now a days. I'm not even worried about the money b/c I will just dispute the charge and easily get my money back but I wanted to just warn others. TRUST ME, save yourself the headache and just go elsewhere or you will find out the hard way. Do not use!! He does not own trucks just renting from uhaul (which he lied about) Stressed that I needed him at 9am he agreed and collected my deposit. He called 10 minutes til 9 to say he was going to need another hour, which didn't work for me. I requested a refund because he broke the contract when he didn't arrive on time. He refused and blocked me. My gut told me not to use him, definitely should have went with that. read more

It seemed like an easy move had everything ready to go until... we got to drop off address. My last move took less than 2 hours with more stuff coming from Conyers. This move took well over 2 hours. Between the guy taking pictures of how well my items were packed to post on his business, to his mover getting numbers. The gentleman were polite however was running the clock & damaged my furniture, dryer, the chipped wall paint , and damaged laundry connections lease because of the business owner's negligence.I tried to call to rectify, he hung up the phone and did not. This could've voided my lease fortunately maintenance was able to resolve the pipe issue. Do not use this company, false advertisement along with unprofessional and they will damage your belongings. Didn't expect them to arrive in a uhaul truck , they advertise as having their own vehicle. Hope this helps someone. read more

A friend and I used this service to help her move her and her mom out of their hone and they left us stranded. They didn't show the day they were suppose to, then when they arrived the next day, they left in the middle of the service without any communication. Don't waste your time or energy because when attempting to follow up they were rude and unapologetic. read more

** Do not use these people to move your stuff, I hired them the owner seemed nice enough, very easy to communicate with. we agreed on a price of my move and they showed up about an hour late, not a big deal. The broke my dryer, they dented the pedestal and now the dryer is making some terrible noise. They also dropped the washer on it's head and the front plate fell off. They were supposed to put some of my items back together and they didn't. They broke the feet of one of my desk. I tried to talk to the owner about the damage and he just stop responding to my messages. read more

If it could be a rated a -0 that would be best. The main guy is very cocky which will be a down fall in the future. The movers are not professional more like " Hey you need to make some money today?" kind of situation. You time will not be valued. Your home and furniture will be damaged with no remorse or a apology. The owner James will get instant amnesia oh how your items got damaged even if you watched him through a window not secure a dresser drawer and it falls out to the ground. He will pick it back up look around to see if anyone say it, put it back and place and once you go to the unload will state " I dont know how that got damages, you can use some puddy and paint over it. I always had to reach out and was given multiple excuses.
