This in n out location is hands down the best location in the United States. There's something about the Davis location that just taste better than others. If you go 10 minutes further to Vacaville or 15 minutes earlier in Sacramento you'll have the standard in n out, but if you want to have the best in n out that you've ever had go to the Davis location. From top to bottom this location has always exceeded my expectation. Call me Goldilocks, but they don't undercook nor do they overcook the food. The proportion of each condiment is down to a science here, Their service is top notch, and they've figured out a way to manipulate the drive thru line in such a small parking lot to accommodate extra parking spaces. If you are thinking about stopping at an in n out location this is the place. The people in Davis don't know what a gem they have with this in n out location. For Yelp's Big Night In, my family and I got In-N-Out via the drive thru. During the craziness of COVID19, they only offer the drive thru, so they cleverly wound the line of cars through the parking lot to make great use of their space and prevent cars from backing up onto Olive Drive. Just so you know, you can only access In-N-Out via Olive Drive and not off Richards or through the gas station right now. We got a Double Double (animal style, no cheese), a hamburger with grilled onions (my fav!), and a hamburger with just tomatoes for our little guys. Oh, I can't forget the French fries! They're a must. You can also get them extra crispy if that's your jam. The freshness of In-N-Out's ingredients really shines through. Their meat isn't frozen and their potatoes are freshly cut. Each burger comes with their signature spread (like thousand islands dressing), lettuce, tomato, and onion. I love that fresh veggies are on this "fast food." It makes me feel healthier - haha! They also offer chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry milkshakes. If you're feeling up for it, get all three flavors in one cup for a Neapolitan experience! There is an employee taking orders as the line of cars scoots closer to the restaurant. All of their employees were wearing the same masks, black and professional-looking, which makes me think they were given to them by the store. Hello, I was driving through a couple months ago and grabbed a meal at this restaurant. While eating the double double cheeseburger animal style I felt something in my throat after swallowing. For hours while we drove back home to Reno I couldn't dislodge the foreign matter in my throat. I tried so many things with no success. I ended up going to Renown ER and spent hours there trying to figure out what was stuck. They couldn't see anything and I was exhausted and finished going home. Thank God I didn't do further testing like being scoped to find it because my ER bill would have been so much more. Just before trying to go to sleep I gargled with water again while laying down and felt something poke the side of my throat as I swallowed and it finally cleared. A couple days later when going to the bathroom when I wiped I saw a small triangular shaped maybe hard plastic clear palish rose color piece with pointy edges. Thankfully whatever it was made it all the way through and didn't appear to cause any damage going through. My throat was irritated for a couple days. I called customer service to report this and they sent in a report. I was asking for them to pay for my ER visit. Total bill was $1704. I sent the claim person all the paperwork and am still waiting to get reimbursed for my hospital visit. No emails back after sending repeated emails for an update. Have left a couple phone messages and got one call back saying she was calling but didn't get an update. Was told originally it would take 2 weeks but now it's going on 2 months. So very disappointed that they haven't handled this. I will never go back!! read more

The fries can be a bit polarizing, as they are fresh potato many might think they taste bland or like cardboard, but with some ketchup (or animal style) they are some of the best. This was a great visit to In-N-Out. My buddies and I had just left a party at Theta Xi and we were looking for a late-night bite. In-N-Out perfectly provided those services. I was able to order a Protein Style Double-Double with no sauce and extra grilled onion. Even with how busy the place was, I got my burger in a very relatively quick time. It was AMAZING. It was nice to be able to enjoy a burger so late and be able to eat inside with my buddies. This particular In & Out location can get a bit busy, but the friendly staff will make sure the food gets out to you as quick as possible. I myself, am more of a purist, so I don't like messing with the original way it is made save for one item. The fries. My favorite way to get the fries at In& Out are well done. This makes the fries extra crispy. If you don't like limp fries, this is definitely the way to go. Actually my favorite thing at In & Out are the fries. My usual order is either a hamburger or cheeseburger with a double order of fries. Yes, I'm a fry maniac! The burgers are great. There's the standard, cheese, and double double (which gets you two patties. The server will ask if you want onion on the burger - I usually go with out it as it can be pretty strong. If you want 'more' in the burger, try asking for it 'animal style'. You'll get more onions (cooked, I believe) and more sauce. If you don't mind the calories, the shakes are delicious. There's not much to dislike about In & Out. There's a reason why it's so many peoples' favorite fast food place. If I did have one complaint about this particular location, it is that finding parking during a busy hour can be hard. And the line for the drive through can look extremely scary. The workers are always friendly (despite being super busy) and the last time I went my well done fries were PERFECT. One night me & my friend went to this In n Out & we were sitting for almost an hour waiting for our order, we go up to the counter & ask about it, apparently they called it but someone stole our food? We asked if they could remake the order but they apologized & said they were closing & they just turned off their grills. So my friend asks for a refund & the guy at the register says "Uhhh sure, let me ask my manager". He gets the manager & he says "Sorry man can't give you a refund since I just got done counting our sales total & the money is in the safe, come back tomorrow & we can get you a refund or remake your meal". He explained that he's from out of town & he planned on leaving first thing the next morning. They still didn't offer any kind of alternative compensation, like a gift card maybe? Maybe I'm crazy but I feel like every other In n Out I've been to has gone above & beyond in making sure customers don't leave unhappy or hungry. I've worked in food service & handing out free gift cards or discounts is a no brainer in unresolvable situations like this, just make a note to whoever opens to add it to next day's sales total! But yeah, by the time we left every other restaurant in Davis was closed at that point, so we just went home hungry :( read more

The parking lot kind of sucks when it's crowded because it's small, but they do try to help with arrows and signs so people don't cut the drive thru line. Let's talk about that parking lot! It is an indefinite maze of cones, chains and hula hoops to jump in n out of (no pun intended) to get to the drive thru. They are located next to a busy gas station off a very busy exit from I-80. Top off the small parking lot with an insanely busy location next to Downtown Davis full of hungry college students and party goers, you are bound to find yourself stuck for quite some time. Customer service was bland and average. Nothing special about it. Surprisingly the drive thru wait time was average, but then again we were there during non peak hours. If you are traveling up north or down south, I highly encourage you to wait to either go to the Vacaville or Sacramento location. Expect LONNNNG wait times or even being in a fender bender. OK so you have to compare this place to similar places. it's a drive through hamburger place. The food is right on par with other locations. There are no differences. Unlike a lot of chains, their menu is pretty limited. That's OK! What they do they do well. On the other hand, there is a secret menu and a little bit of online googling will help you find that. Another thing that is very consistent across locations is employees. Davis is no exception. They have the knack for hiring some of the best people. Employees are helpful and friendly without it out really happy at their job. You can tell! I have found that getting out of the car and going inside is much faster than waiting in line. Like many locations, the line for the drive-through is pretty nuts. There have been cases where it has blocked the road and nearby businesses. I know they've done things to try to prevent that though. The food is definitely better than almost any fast food out there. My only argument would be whether or not it is truly fast. We recently had a kitchen order mix up at In & Out, (only our fries and missing our burger) that was so well handled by their staff, despite the circumstances, that we felt we had to leave a review for them! Despite being a stormy night with a long line at the drive through and being understaffed with only 4-5 members manning the cashier, grill and drive through, David and Austin really exceeded our expectations. It was very clear how busy it was and we were very impressed in how well they both managed their respective, multiple duties and how polite and professional they were. David took the time to even assist us with our condiment requests even as he juggled incoming orders, filling drinks and managed other additional tasks to help the team. When we noticed there was an order mix up, Austin immediately took accountability and told us he would do his best to remedy the situation. He was polite and friendly and we really appreciate his assistance. If anything he turned a possibly stressful situation into a very positive one! We personally feel that the people is what makes a place worth coming back to and we would definitely say this location has great staff here! read more

I don't know if I was just extra hungry, but this In-N-Out provided perhaps the best rendition of an already great meal. Like any other fastfood restaurant, they sometimes use "too old" oil to cook your fries, which will leave a nasty after taste in your mouth. However, the FOOD is what we came for and the FOOD delivered! The consistency of In-N-Out continues to impress me. In n out Burger, a California staple! It's one of the most consistent burger places around and you can expect a great experience every visit. You can't beat the freshness, cheap prices, and fantastic service. Plus they're open late, have a drive thru, and have a simple menu while allowing for customization. Animal style anyone? I usually just ask for grilled onions and extra patties. My go to is the 3x2 (double double with an extra Patty). An extra Patty is 85 cents so it'd a great filling burger for just $5. The only thing I don't like about in n out is their fries. They're really thin and end up being too hard.
