For a fast food restaurant, they have decent burgers, fresh produce and yummy fries. I always get my fries with no salt so that I can adjust it to my liking (a little salt and a lot of pepper!). It's also a huge plus that the prices are fairly low, I can pretty much get a filling meal for around 5 bucks (which is pretty rare nowadays). Living so close to an in-n-out is fairly dangerous as I can easily get a burger on the way home. I worked a drive-thru before, so I understand these amazing people are probably put under a tremendous amount of pressure. In-N-Out is a staple of any college diet, and I am proud to say that during finals week, I packed away 2 double-meats and a side of animal fries AND a Neapolitan shake. Hooray for stress eating! The best part is, it only takes like 10 minutes after you order to get your food. It can take longer, but the staff is on top of it. Best place to get quality and affordable burgers in Davis. Love me some In-N-Out! I was in Davis and had some time to kill and wanted to grab a bite before it got too late. First impressions of the Davis restaurant is that it was busy. Hard to find parking, but they do a good job of planning out their parking situation and having a long drive thru line. Seemed to be organized. The restaurant itself was very clean and there was one employee who was in the dining area busting her butt to make sure it was clean and also took the time to greet people and have a brief conversation with them. I thought she handled her job very well and definitely made the atmosphere better. So shout out to the taller African American female with an awesome smile who was working on the afternoon of 5/2/19 in the dining area. The kitchen area was hopping and very organized. They were popping out order like nothing. I maybe waited 5 minutes for my order which is amazing! What I love about In-N-Out is that there's many options to make the burger the way you want it. This time I chose the 3x3 protein style, which is 3 burger patties and 3 slices of cheese but I also chose not to get the cheese. The protein style is no bun and the burger is wrapped in a bed of lettuce. Got grilled onions and subbed the sauce for ketchup and mustard. This In N Out is closest to my job. Typical INO restaurant. Great service and pretty fast as well. The restaurant is clean. The only con about this particular INO is the parking lot/drive thru situation. The parking lot is tiny and jam packed. The drive thru line also runs through the parking lot as well making it even crazier. If you go at noon I suggest parking (if you can) and heading inside instead of using the drive thru. Definitely my main to-go place for cheap and delicious burgers as a college student! What's also great is that they are open late :) The location of this In-N-Out is quite convenient. Close to the freeway, gas stations, and downtown Davis (which is perfect when you have those late night drunchies) ;) Their burgers and fries have always satisfied my cravings. I remember one time my boyfriend Gabriel N. and I decided to go big and order a 4x4 Animal Style Burger with everything on it and an Animal Style Fries. And let me tell you...I finished the whole damn thing AND I was still a little bit hungry...I probably should have just ordered a milkshake with my meal. Now a days, I can't always order that same meal just because I know better to treat my body better :P My usual meal from In-N-Out now is: *Double-double, with everything on it, double-toasted buns, grilled onions, and extra veggies. My boyfriend and I ordered through the drive through and they messed up the order and we wanted two burgers they gave us one instead of two. We had to order mine separately and the lady told us to pull to the corner and turn our Hazards on. Oh Davis. I'm always reminded I'm in a college town. Whenever I go to this In-N-Out, it's probably lunchtime, right after work (dinner time), or late-night. Always. Busy. Drive-thru lines are so long, they have that "runner" guy stand at the entrance to the drive-thru to start taking orders already so you don't have to wait to get to the first window. Choose to go inside to place your order? Good luck finding a place to sit or stand. Each register has their own way of assigning order numbers (as well as the drive-thru order numbers), so don't be surprised if the food that's ready ranges from Customer Number 32, to 36, to 17 to 55 all in a span of 15-30 minutes). As long as I get my food, it's all good though. As far as secret menu items, I enjoy neopolitan shakes, animal style fries, and cheeseburgers or double-doubles with grilled onions, mustard grilled. I love In-N-Out. I love their cheeseburgers, their grilled cheese, their animal style fries, their flying dutchman, and everything in between. My only qualm is that this location (and maybe all locations) is freezing cold. I have to wear a sweater if I'm going to come here. When I was keto, I would have burgers protein-style or I'd have the Flying Dutchman. Both were awesome choices. DOUBLE-DOUBLES FOREVER.....One of our favorite stops while traveling thru Davis on I-80. In N' Out Burger is the ONLY fast food chain that my wife & daughter will patronize. Even though its a "fast food chain"....its family owned & operated...all of their stores are owned by the Snyder family in Los Angeles. They pay good wages and benefits to their "Associates" (their warm & fuzzy word for employees), most part-timers make over $10 an hour (rare in fast food) while managers can make up to $80k per year. I was about to mention that this location suffers from a crappy parking lot and access, but so does the one in Roseville, Auburn, and Vacaville. Pro-Tip: if you have late night cravings like I do you should really try going through the drive through around 11pm or later. The line is typically a bit shorter and for some reason the food always extra piping hot. The cheese of the cheese burgers get so melty and it perfectly compliments that fresh crunch of ice burg lettuce and special sauce. It also just tastes even more fresh than usual. They are open until 1am weekdays and I think possibly a bit later on weekends (not positive on that anymore due to the pandemic.) Just writing this review is making me hungry. NEVER A PLACE TO SIT!!! Whoever designed In-n-Out needs to wake up because the place is so damn small. Serously, there's never a place to sit. I mean, you have to stand there and stalk other people so you can get their table. Other than that, the food is awesome. The fries are always fresh and the burgers are great. The staff is uber friendly, however they did mess up my order one time. Kinda disappointing, but no big deal. They'll do whatever you ask for though. This place is the worst In and Out I have ever been to...and I have been to a lot. This was the only mistake food wise on our trip. We had several students and two chaperones become extremely ill after eating here. They screwed up orders- which worked out for Ryan because he would have gotten the food poisoning instead of our other chaperone Andy (sorry buddy). The meat was not properly cooked and the grilled onions were to the point where they were inedible. My grilled cheese with grilled onions was borderline edible. I was trying to ween myself off of the meat and starch diet...thank god I didn't get a burger.... the fries were cold and not appealing in any way shape or form. I am sticking to my San Jose, Salinas and Southern California In and Out restaurants.... Back in the day, In N Out was my special burger spot. I thought it was so awesome. Then when I moved to Davis for college, I thought it would be awesome knowing that In N Out was right next to my apartment complex, the Lexington Apts. EVERYDAY I would smell the scent of the In N Out burger and it was nice at first but after a year, not so much. And because of that, I lost my love for In N Out and thus didn't have very many cravings for it. I still eat it but just not as much but this particular location can get really busy!
