Hate it or not, give it a fair shake or not - whatevs. I was in a line of cars about 20 deep. As I moved along I had several shiny helpful workers greet me, take my order and hand me a ticket, take the ticket and enter it into the magical hand-held box that transmits it to the kitchen. Pay at the window (single cheeseburger, crapton of REAL grilled onions & spread, and fries well done - only $4.25 with tax!), and proceed to a waiting bag at the next window. Efficient, correct, and happy service. 10 minutes in and out (heh) ...which is freaking amazeballs, given the crowd. Food is good. Food is fresh. Food is a total fucking bargain. I love me some In & Out. There's a couple of things you should know before you go. 1. They make your order custom, so if you're in the drive thru, and see a line, expect a wait. 2. If you like your meat well done, you must request well done, I've had burgers that range from medium rare to well if I haven't requested well done. 3. The fries aren't crispy, but can be improved by ordering animal style( grilled onions + spread). 4. The meat patties aren't huge, maybe around 1/8 lb/ piece (purely guessing) So ordering a double double doesn't feel like overdoing it. So I'd give this place a solid 4. Usually I go through the drive thru and am greeted by a really nice younger guy who is just pleasant and hilarious. He makes me laugh and is genuinely nice. I wish I knew his name! So even though it's fast food, I love the customer service. 5 for the people here. The food is pretty good. I'd give it 3. The fries are usually way under, and I always request my double double well done and have gotten medium rare multiple times. Nothing a microwave can't fix. The buns and veggies don't taste super fresh, but it's a burger chain, so I think that's to be expected. Lemonade and shakes are decent. Solid burger joint in Arlington, and I've definitely gone back and will continue to in the future, so recommended! Want to try the spread before you commit to slathering it all over your burger? I have to say, I was very excited about the In-N-Out burger joint going in. I've heard so much hype and I was prepared for a treat. If it were up to ambiance, I'd probably give it a 4 or 5. It's got a retro feel and friendly employees. The ambiance made me want to like it that much more. Then I got the burger and I took it back to work. I'm telling you this to give In-N-Out a tiny 'out' - it was a 3 minute drive. Cheeseburger - I'm going to give the cheeseburger 2 stars here. The veggies were very fresh - and that's what gives it the stars. The meat was about 1/8 of an inch thick and floppy. The cheeseburger was barely warm. I don't think the 3 minute drive to work was the culprit. French fries - I tasted one of these on the way to work and literally looked inside the bag to see what they looked like. The texture was like someone found a bag of the potatoes from the original 1948 store and fried them up. Stale, stale, stale. So gross. I didn't know potatoes could have that consistency. I tried another one mostly because I was in disbelief, but also out of morbid curiosity. Again; gross. I threw them away and ate the cheeseburger. So disappointed. Really, really disappointed. My friend laughed at me and told me I was entirely Texan because eating In-N-Out made me want to run to Whataburger for some fries. read more

I used to work for a large California based company and I would hear, at least once daily, about the culinary genius that is In-N-Out burger and how Texas' existence is meaningless until the day God smiles upon us and instantiates one of the burger Mecca's amongst us. As luck would have it, I had to go to headquarters for some training so I made it a point to eat at the fabled establishment. I have to say...Meh...I was underwhelmed. Not that it was bad mind you, I just didn't see what all the fuss was about. It was just OK. There's no escaping the fact it's a fast-food burger. That was five years ago. Fast forward to today, 9/22/2011. There has been a rash of openings for this chain in Texas and today the newest one opened in Arlington just down the street. I decided I'd go for opening day since it was nearby and give it a shot and see if my recollection of the food would match up to the reality of today. The place was packed and there was a line of cars probably 40 deep as I had expected. I decided that it was probably faster to get my burger if I go inside. I was right. I pity those people at the drive through. I ordered a #1 (double double with fries and a drink), and surprisingly it was delivered to me in about 15 minutes. Of course, there were about 20 or so employees behind the counter alone. It was a madhouse. Anyway, I took my burger and absconded to my car as there was no place to sit inside. It was as I remembered. Underwhelming! The burger is about the diameter of a McDonald's Quarter Pounder but a little thicker. The patties were anemic. I'd say there was probably 1/4 pound of meat there, so about 1/8 pound each. The bun was standard for fast food. I do like the thousand island dressing they put on it. Quite honestly though, if you put some mustard on it and gave me a blind taste test between In-N-Out and Whataburger, I probably couldn't tell the difference. Whataburger is a better deal too, I think. Their double double has 1/2 pound of meat, 3/8 pound after cooking according to their website, for around the same price if not a little less. Shake and Steak burgers are about the same size and price range, but they have a much larger selection. I like their meat better as well. The presentation is quite appealing. There's something about the way they wrap it with the top portion of the burger exposed that is very charming. The fries, when they are "sear your flesh" hot, are on par with McDonald's or Whataburger. But once they start to cool down, even slightly, they become chewy and rubbery. Imagine those packing "peanuts" that are biodegradable and made from corn starch. You know the ones I'm talking about. You can squish them with our fingers and they stay compressed...Imaging chewing on some of those. Yeah...it's like that. Horrible. Was it worth the price? Not really. $6.86 after tax for a double double with fries and a drink and it's not really all that. I'm sure I'll come back some day when I'm in a hurry and need a quick burger fix, but I don't see that happening for a while. It's just not that special. read more

I like In-N-Out. In my opinion, it's not the hype that people make it out to be. I think their fast food burgers are tasty and totally legit, but it's not innovative and mind blowing, although I still enjoy their burgers. I'd say that In-N-Out reaches the typical American cheeseburger standards-- the perfect example of how a cheeseburger should be in the U.S. for any foreigner's visit. Their cheese is super melted and really cheesy. All the ingredients are fresh. You can especially taste it in the veggies. Also, their fries taste super starchy and crispy. I don't like starch all that much, so potatoes aren't exactly up my alley but eating these fries won't make you feel guilty after chomping them down because they're less oily and healthier than other fries. You can even ask them to make them extra crispy which is probably what I'll do from now on. I like getting animal style, which is In-N-Out code talk for addition of mustard grilled beef patties, extra pickles and thousand island dressing toward your burger, grilled onions and spread on the fries, or you can get both! Doing this gives your meal a smoked flavor and ups the level of seasoning. Their shakes are fine-- comes in chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry. It melts easily and then you end up with a cup of froth, so I prefer to get sweet tea. I love unsweet tea, but sweet is better here. Ice swear, sometimes they don't give enough ice, so hopefully you order take out so you can come home and put more ice in the cup. They also offer a tray for you to pull forward and eat in the car if you would like. Great place for quality cheap eats! read more

I&O is one of the most over rated chain burgers out there.....but apparently their marketing group is great! :) The cheeseburgers are ok.....just ok. Defintely get it "animal style", and that makes it better. The french fries are just strange, they are "mealy" , and the vanilla shake wasnt worth finishing....which is unheard of! I had eaten at In-N-Out's on the West Coast long before they made their first appearances here in the metroplex, and had never found the food that out of the ordinary. So it was with some confusion that I watched the hordes descend upon this establishment when it first opened its doors. That alone was sufficient in my mind to warrant a second look. So it was that on a recent Sunday morning as we passed this establishment, and the crowd appeared to have parted like the Red Sea, that we made our way in to see what all the fuss is about. Apparently not the food. The burger, though decently made, was nothing special to me. The fries (of the shoestring variety), though freshly-made (you can see them pressing the potatoes into fries behind the counter), were about as vanilla as they come. Perhaps it is because there are so many good burger choices in the area (e.g. Fred's, M&O, Kincaid's, Tommy's, ect.), but the hype surrounding this place simply does not play out in the food. So come here to get your trademarked IN-N-Out cap, if you must, but get your burger somewhere else. read more

I wish I could give it 5. This place has tables closed for social distancing. Of course they are doing the right thing and I appreciate that they are closing certain tables. However, they have their biggest section of handicap seats closed. This is definitely not okay. Close down a different table and open up the handicap ones. We've been going to In-N-Out Burger for years ever since the first one we stumbled across in San Francisco at the Fisherman's Warf. Next we found them in Las Vegas. Thank you for finally making it to Texas. What you are going to get here is a good consistent burger. No this burger will not change your life but it is good and it is always good. I've never had one that was not as good as the last. Other than drinks this store has 3 menu items Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, and Fries. With only 3 menu items they had better do them well. I LOVE In-N-Out Burger! I am a California native (lived there for 14 years before coming to Texas in 2006) and I have always been a huge fan of this place. I always get the # 1 meal with no sauce and grilled onions and of course my order is always correct. It's too simple to get wrong anyway! The food always tastes extremely fresh and delicious. I will say that I've had better burgers in my life, especially since I've been in Texas, but nowhere near close to the same price which makes In n out that much more awesome. The food is always super fresh and tastes phenomenal. Amazing, with the hype aside, my whole family loved it. That says a lot, my daughter is more of a chicken tender person. She got the single woth cheese plain and said it was awesome. Son got the songle woth no veggies, again high awesomeness. I had mine animal style (double double) more of their house sauce, and the wife had hers with fried onions and mustard (double double). Neet thing was, I told the gentleman this was only the second time we had been to a In-Out and he gave suggestions and knew the secret menu. Clean inside and out, nice throwback uniforms and friendly staff; toss in great food too, and you have a winner. Will definitely be back when we are in that part of Texas! read more

I don't know what I'm missing here. People seem to love this place, but I think it tastes like a cross between McDonalds and Sonic. Its fast food, so I guess I have to keep that in mind, but with the freakin line of cars stretched all the way around the building you would think this would be some blow your mind, can't live without, amazingly delish burger. But...it's not. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries and the cheeseburger tasted like a Sonic patty with Big Mac sauce. Nothing really special here... The fries are horrible. I ate 3 and gave up. I tried putting salt on them, it didn't help. The fry oil tasted old and gross. The sodas were pretty much all carbonation. The tables were filthy. This place just got worse and worse. The best part of my experience was leaving. And I will not be back. read more

In-N-Out burger has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid back in California. I'm so glad they came to Texas! Amazing burgers, great shakes, and fries to die for when you get them Animal style. I was not impressed at all, and believe me I was ready to love it!!! 9pm munchies with the roomies after a long day of shopping. Good idea? I think so! Cheeseburger Protein Style (lettuce wrap), Chocolate Strawberry Shake, and some Animal Style Fries. The guys at the counter that night were so fun and sweet. They were very friendly and nice which I think In-n-Out is kind of known for. The burger was just okay but I ate all of it. I was so hungry. The shake was good but I wish it was thicker. I only ended up drinking half of it. Now... what I really loved was the fries Animal Style. I loved the way my fries were cooked, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. I didn't even know what Animal Style was but I kept seeing it on Instagram so I had to try it. I can't go back. I've totally come around on In-N-Out. Months and months ago, I wrote a three-star review of my first In-N-Out visit (at another location). In-N-Out was alright, I wrote, but not really a standout. Now? I'm definitely a fan, no question. Here's the thing: you can go to any other burger chain and spend more money or get less or "lesser" food. In-N-Out is consistently fresh, fast, and cheap. You know, every once in a while you get that "I could use a burger" craving. For $2 at In-N-Out, you can totally satisfy that craving. You don't even have to get out of your car. What you'll be getting is unmistakably a burger; beef, in a bun or wrapped in lettuce. Cheese if you want it. Nothing non-burger. All burger. Totally satisfying. Other benefits: It's a simple menu, and so you don't have to worry about getting the best deal on the menu or whether you've picked something not-as-delicious as something else. You don't need coupons. The staff are polite, friendly, and fast. I... don't really see a downside. The fries took a trip or two to get used to, and I just drown them in ketchup. I waffle between ordering a normal hamburger protein-style and a double-double animal style on each visit. Both are delicious. read more

down-n-out at the in-n-out. keep those chili cheese fries down please diners! went in vs. drive thru this time to sit and enjoy. waited 10 minutes in line, then waited 10 minutes for food and then ate in 10-15. waiting time was not the issue... while waiting in line someone upheaved their chili chees fries in front of the "ketchup pump station" as I learned it's called. well, that's ok because that happens too, however... during the whole 30+ minutes I was there, the mess was still not cleaned up. everyone had vacated the nearby tables and no one could really use the ketchup pump. they had 3 people cleaning up the mess with an occassional manager type who would check in every 5 minutes. they were literally reading through a manual on what steps to do. step one and they all went to the back and came back with wet floor danger posts. another step involved getting a face shield and mask. liquids were mixed that would solidify the mess, brooms were retrieved, etc, etc. The manager continued to check on progress as one did the work, another read the manual, and the third watched. ok - i appreciate the sanitation, i believe in safety too. it's good, but your ketchup pump and 5 tables shouldn't be shut down for 30+ minutes for a up-chuck that takes 5 minutes to clean up. if all of the precautions and steps are needed, practice them so you have your stuff down. not at game time during the busiest hours. at any minute there was about to be sympathy vomit everywhere. ps - and the fries were exactly like last time, totally missing the right density and flavor, so it wasn't a bad batch. read more

All of these complaints on Urbanspoon of how In-N-Out burgers are too small. Who uses Urbanspoon anymore anyway ;). For a smaller person, I think it's sufficient. If you want a bigger burger, Big Tex, then go for the three-by-three, or better yet the four-by-four. It'll really make you feel fat. I also am in love with their fries. They don't taste like french fries double-dipped and soaked in vegetable oil. They just taste like fresh fries. I know a lot of people are not fans of their fries. A lot of people still love Mckie D's. I can understand that, but if you really appreciate freshly cut fries without all the over-fried grease, then you'll like In-N-Out's. Also, I LOVE their milkshakes! Especially the Neopolitan milkshake. They somehow dont' mix all 3 flavors into some gooey mess; the shake comes out uniformly into a beautiful swirl of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. You might want to get someone else to help you finish it though - it will be heavy on the stomach. read more

The burger was decent...it just seemed like it was missing something. 3/5 Fries were ok at first but once they got lukewarm it was just a mess 2/5 Best thing was the shake but even that was just so-so 3/5 All in all they have really great service and mediocre food idk maybe this homegrown Texas girl is just used to Whataburger. The price wasn't bad for the quality, I ordered the Cheese Burger combo, which consisted of a cheese burger, fries and a medium coke... The fries were mediocre and the Burger could have really used a competitor's ad... "Where's the BEEF!!!" I thought it was sad that the tomato was thicker than the hamburger. I guess people were thrilled to have one of these in Texas... (Even though it took you guys 65 years to get here.) It's OK for a quick lunch... but not impressed. It is just a run of the mill cheese burger of which any one of the national burger places can out do. The staff is very pleasant and the venue is always kept clean. That is your only saving grace. Yes! Love it. This location stays busy and I'll often drive a few minutes further to go to the one near Mansfield off of 287 to escape the crowd but it's not too bad; like any other fast food joint on a busy highway. Animal style, med rare (if they can, they said the health department no longer lets them do a truly med rare burger any longer), with peppers, and cheese, well done fries, Dr. Pepper, all for $6.05 total. Hard to beat the quality and deliciousness! I love this place. read more

Nope but you can order them and they are tasty and perfect. Additional tip, they have coffee available all day.
