My "double-double animal style, protein style" burger allows me to eat my burger wrapped in lettuce when I'm avoiding the bun/carbs. Their fresh cut fries are unparalleled when eaten soon after they emerge from their hot bath in the fryer. "Animal style fries" is also a tasty indulgence. It's tradition for my dedicated In-N-Out brethren to order a neopolitan shake (chocolate, vanilla and strawberry) to conclude the delicious, greasy, dripping and memorable experience that one will take with them always, (especially if the shirt stain doesn't come out in the wash). The food was okay! But this review is for Alex, pretty sure he was a manager... a tall blond kid. He was very nice to everyone and the shift seemed to be running smoothly, although I think they may have been slightly under staffed (crazy times). I ordered a burger and shake here the other day and was deathly ILL from food poisoning afterward. Almost immediately after consuming the food I felt a tummy ache which then turned into nausea and extreme vomiting. I was in bed for days and couldn't take care of my kids it was that bad. I have body aches and fever and chills and constant pain in my stomach as the body only wants to evacuate and kill the germs of anything I consumed. I have always liked this place but now I can never go back because My of this incident. I believe the workers did not handle the food well or cook the meat thoroughly. No more in n out ever again. However, this one in SB seems to consistently screw up my order. They have successfully messed up my order on 3 separate instances, and the 3rd instance, left my friend out of a burger. All 3 instances were drive thru, so check your bag before you drive off! 1st order : 3 flying dutchmen, grilled onions, peppers and an order of fries, eat in the car. What I got: 3 flying dutchmen. No onions, no peppers. Fries. 2nd order: 1 double/double with whole grilled onions and peppers. 1 cheeseburger, whole grilled onions and peppers. 2 fries, 1 strawberry shake. What I got: double double, grilled onion, no peppers, 1 cheese burger - plain. 2 fries and 1 vanilla shake. 3rd order: 3 flying dutchmen, grilled onions, peppers, 2 fries, strawberry shake and 1 cheeseburger. What I got: 3 flying dutchmen, onions, and peppers. 2 fries, strawberry shake, NO cheeseburger. This 3rd instance, left my friend hungry as they only ate fries. Also, other in n outs give me a fork and knife by default to eat the flying dutchmen. This one has never given me a fork and knife, and left me to eat it like a caveman. Moving forward, I will either double check my orders so that they cant steal my money and not give me what I ordered. In regards to quality of food, it is the standard in n out, and not terrible. I'm usually very pleased with my service but I asked for extra tomato and pickles on my cheeseburger, and it was just regular. We eat a lot of In-N-Out. Every time we make it to California or Las Vegas, we make our trip over. Doesn't matter the time of day or the occasion, we go out of our way to get a burger (isn't that the definition of a 3 star michelin restaurant?). I had planned this weekend trip to California so that we could go up the coast to SLO. On our way, we stopped by here to pick up the usu (yuj? how do you spell the shortened form of usual?): Double double animal style, neopolitan shake with a side of animal style fries. Loved every bite and I'm sure it cost like 6000 calories. But, hey, who needs to eat the rest of the weekend. Like every other location, this place was busy but they had plenty of people outside taking orders and the customers moved through like clock work. We had our food in about 10 min. The trouble is though that their parking lot was all parked up and so we had to drive around and eventually found a residential neighborhood where we ate our food in the car. Love this place. The key to their success is their consistency in 3 important things: freshly prepared food, a clean location, and outstanding customer service. The location in Goleta has all those! It was very VERY busy when I arrived but the wait for my food was no more than 10 minutes. But it's the small things they do that keep me coming back to various locations. Things from religiously cleaning the dining room to holding the door open for guests coming in or leaving to employees that genuinely enjoy their job. Is it the absolute best burger money can buy? i was helped out by arianna. she was very dismissive and had a bad tone but it wasn't just me. she was very rude with every customer she helped and she would never make eye contact unless she was rolling her eyes or making a disgusted face. i kept asking if she had called my order as they were already 15 numbers pass and she said nope and rolled her eyes. asked again because they were now 30 numbers ahead and with the same attitude said no. she made me feel bad for asking if my order was ready. i waited for someone else to help me and they said they already called the number and they tossed it. the person who helped me was very nice and remade the order very quickly and apologized for her actions. so i'm guessing this isn't her first complaint. it overall took 40 minutes read more

Our number was constantly being skipped and when i finally went up to the register they told us was FINALLY being made but mind you, they were 12 numbers PAST OUR NUMBER... There's only two locations in Santa Barbara county, and this is one of them. If you're in Santa Barbara, this is the only place you can get those cheap, delicious burgers. It's located along the 101 in Goleta (Between UCSB/SBA and Santa Barbara). The drive thru line is super long most times I've been. There's plenty of parking in the lot if you're eating inside. The interior is the exact same layout as the other hundreds of locations. Restrooms towards the right, cash registers in the middle, and seating towards the left. I came around 1AM in the morning and left at 1:40 (10 minutes after closing), and there were a substantial number of people still inside. I waited around 20 minutes for my order. A Double-Double is my favorite, but they did burn my hamburger buns one visit. Everyone seems to have different opinions on the fries, but I do enjoy them. They're not as salty, but still crunchy. I like the shakes as well, but it seems like it's getting pricey. Service is great at all In-N-Outs, and this location is no different. I do think the other locations in LA are slightly better in terms of service, but they still serve the same fresh and quality meals regardless. read more

Got to say, I'm a fan. The In-N-Out name here isn't exactly accurate, as you always end up waiting for your food here--a mix of them making it fresh, and the long line of cars and people who also want said food. This location also has a habit of closing off one of the car entrances for no apparent reason, but you can maneuver around it anyway. Service is good, the place is clean, blah blah blah; y'all know this place, so I won't drone on or tell you there's a secret menu like that's suddenly a surprise or something. I always get a double here. I've had them hovering between medium and medium well, but never well done which is good. Beef is good quality and otherwise it's a well made fast food cheeseburger. The fries are nice and fresh but unremarkable otherwise; get them Animal style (melted cheese, grilled onions, thousand island dressing) to kick them up a notch, or just use salt and ketchup.
