The food is so consistent from one In-N-Out to the other, this place had good food. The prices are cheap and it is relatively fast. I had a double double and a shake. I went inside so the service was pretty quick. The parking was easy the restaurant was clean, people are friendly and competent. 5 hour drive from PHX to Cali became 6 hours with the hour wait in line at 12:30pm till 1:30pm just to hear that 2 Flying Dutchman ( 4 patties with cheese only and a shake) would not be ready and have to wait by the store with hazards on. Patties is literally one of 3 things they sell. When asked the nice employee said it is always this busy. Maybe it is time for management to step in and step up their game and maybe even put a person on order line, with extra cook shifts and a sign that says if you get inline you won't be out for an hour. Another nice employee recommended canes across. This is not an employee problem, it's I-already-get-paid--i-don't care style management problem. The food was delivered and was good. The bare minimum. I have given the new Indio location three tries to get things right and they have failed horribly every time. Why must I wait 20 to 40 minutes to get a very mediocre fast food sandwich? It's not because they are sought after and customers are willing to wait in ling lines. No, it's due to very poor trained staff that have zero experience. When I finally get to the remote ordering station in my car, I know what I want. I have had significant time in line to decide. Don't ask me if I want this, or that. If I didn't order it, ring up my ticket and move on the the next patron. Certainly don't ask me if I want it brought out to my car. Seriously? Your numerous questions which I kept saying no thank you to, resulted in holding up the line. DON'T DO THAT! Final straw. I pull up to the cashier after a 20 minute wait and hand her $12 even for my $11.26 meal. She says hang on a second and leaves her station. Some time has gone by, so I rolled up my window. She finally returns and swipes an employee's card who evidentially wanted to eat something. In the interim, the car in front of me has already left the pick up station. The youngster with zero training then counts out my $12 and then stalls rather than handing me a receipt and change for $0.74. I finally told her to keep it as she was holding up the line and moved to the pick up station. I am done with IN N OUT. It's just not worth the drama on every visit. Brand new store is aesthetically pleasing, but the long waits stem from poor service, not customers lining up for quality food. Avoid like the plague. read more

I Usually only have good things to say about In-N-Out. The employees are always friendly, and the food is fresh and good quality. However, I drove through this location at 1 a.m. on a Friday. There were only 4 cars ahead of me. The 1rst three went pretty quick, but the one directly in front of me must have ordered for 20 people. I was waiting for that one car for almost 15 minutes. It seems to me like a car with a huge order like that should have to park in a special place (like they do at McDonalds) and wait for their gigantic order away from the line. This enables the remaining people in line to get their order in a reasonable amount of time. I only ordered a single burger and fries. Once I got to the window, it only took 30 seconds for me to get my order and be on my way. Not sure if this is related to the long wait, but my burger was cold and the bun was stale :-( I only write this to suggest that you guys work out a better system for people with very large orders. Horrible service, waited over 20 mins for 2 double doubles one was tomatoes wrapped and requested the other burger to be whole grilled onion rapped and specifically asked the order taker to make sure the burger had all the ingredients the usual double double has. I get to the 1st window and my order is repeated correctly and was charged 2 DOUBLE DOUBLE CHEESE BURGERS! I get to the second window and they hand me a box with whole grilled onions cheese and a patty WHICH OF COURSE was not what I ordered or paid for! They organize the lines well and make sure everyone uses both to avoid congestion. Like most In N outs, everything is pretty consistent. Props to the night security guard though. We do get a lot of homeless on drugs walking around and he keeps a good eye out on things. read more
