What I like about in-n-out is that it is definitely consistent between locations! This one in Indio is busy since it is off the freeway and on the path from Phoenix to California. It made me laugh how long the drive thru was, so we parked and walked inside and there was NO line. I know I can be lazy too, but not lazy enough to wait in the drive thru for 30 minutes! They had plexiglass up at the registers and everything was clean and spaced out. As mentioned the food was as expected - best on road quick meal! read more

I have always wanted to try In-N-Out Burger and my buddies and I were in Cali for a timeshare near Palm Springs. Perfect idea! I ordered one simple cheese burger and a water. So good! The bun is moist, yet perfectly cooked and I like the toppings with the lettuce and onions and tomatoes. I can see why people say this is one of the best fast food places ever. As always, the food was perfectly prepared by hard working and friendly employees . The bathrooms sparkle too ~ always well looked after . The drive through line was at least 30 cars long so I parked, braved the heat and walked in, only 5 others in front of me so a short wait . Nothing frozen here and they wash, slice and cook the potatoes here minutes before you get them so it's all top notch . This review is not based on staff,food and or service. This review is based on drive thru on the date of writing. For some reason they cut parking spots and made drive thru with normal sized or large vehicles almost improbable to do safe, again this was done by the store owner and lot owner and only effects customers and staff. If you go to this in & out burger just walk inside rather then drive thru unless you have a super tiny car. Food is still good, problem is the changes to drive thru. The food is great typical in and out food hot tasty,employees are always very kind and knowledgeable. The problem is with the homeless people that continually frequent that parking lot pounding on your window wanting spare change. one of my many encounters with some of the homeless people was not pleasant in the least when. I told the man I did not have any cash he asked how am I going to pay for my food I replied if it's any of your business I have a card I'm using this evening. He proceeded to tell me he would wait and follow me to the bank so I could pull out money for him. Needless to say I told him he needed to get away from my car while he still could on his own. This is the only time I would give in N out 3 stars instead of 5. This location is old and run down, the staff not quite as on top of their game as other locations. Super hot inside and a lot of seating, drive thru is a mess and spills into the parking lot. The burgers tasted more like McDonald's than In N Out, not bad, but not what you are served everywhere else. Getting 3 stars and a pass from me since the rest of the dining options in Indio just go downhill from here. read more

Who wouldn't want an In-N-Out Burger in their neighborhood? As desert dwellers we only had 2 Options, drive out to Indio or Thousand Palms. So, we tended to stop along the highway on road trips to get our fix. When we were out of the country the first thing we did on American soil was stuff our face at In N Out. Funny how they are strategically located near airports. We love to take guests from abroad to In N Out. Most recently our French friend loved the 4 by 4 so much he was sending pictures of it to all his friends back home. Secret menus make this place my favorite fast food. Protein style rules. Love the long drive thru line that moves surprising fast. I don't eat the fries but , when I did, animal style was the only way. You have to eat those fries fast or they just don't taste as good when they get cold. Lots of parking with an outside covered patio. Everything that they packed in made my mouth so happy. it was so thick I could hardly bite it, but I decided to put being a lady aside and just dig in. Big. Tasty. So, the last time I had an In-N-Out burger was years ago and I have to admit I wasn't a fan. Yes, it's a good burger, but just doesn't live up to all the hype for me. So on a recent trip back to California to visit my family, who are all In-N-Out fans, I insisted we go so I could try it after all these years. And, I can stand by initial feelings, it's a good burger but still not in my Top 5 or even 10 for that matter. I come and eat here when I attend annual Rivco square dance festival second weekend of November. I just get the cheeseburger with extra onion, extra tomato for $2.85. No charge for Xtras. I ate lunch here every day of the 3-day festival, cos In-n-Out burger stores are not plentiful, and this one is just 2 blocks from the Indio Fairgrounds. I can't believe people sit in their cars in that long take-out line, that gets so long it sometimes interferes with traffic coming into the shopping center. Also the employees cannot get their cars out or whoever parks in the spaces on the street side, because the line is blocking the parked cars. I always go inside to place my order. I eat in. In the time you wait in the take out line, you could order and finish your food, by eating inside. I have had their fries, but never again, cos the fries I feel are too thin, and they are not crispy, rather wimpy and chewy, like the texture of cold tries. So the 4 stars is just for the burger. 1 star for the fries. I always have to wait at least 10 min for my burger, but it is hot and worth the wait. I like it that someone always cleans up the tables as soon as someone leaves, because the tables are needed by incoming people, not like Peter Piper Pizza where every table is full of trash when people leave, and no one buses them. At this In n Out someone comes and offers to take our trays away as soon as we finish eating, but are still sitting there. 5 stars for cleanliness. Women's restroom is really clean, too. Never fail with animal style fries, cheese burger with grilled onions (animal style or not) and a pink lemonade. I love to go here despite the long lines because they move quick and serve up delicious food with great customer service. Being a native to New York, many wonder.. Shake Shack or In-N-Out? This was one of the best In and Outs I've been too. I mean it should be, located just up the block from the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. The hamburger patty was thicker than most In and outs and didn't just fall apart in the sandwich. The french fries were also fresh, hot and well salted. The only thing was that the lettuce in the hamburger was so big it made it hard to eat. The drive thru line is quite long, but they keep it moving. i've never tried this place mostly because the line was always in the next parking lot but recently my eyes have been opened. first let's talk quality, best burgers i've ever tasted by far.. and i didn't get anything big, just a normal cheeseburger.. i can only imagine how good the other burgers must be. the bread was crispy which i surprisingly loved, and i also loved how they don't put pickles unless you ask for them. now let's talk prices, for the quality of the food this is a good deal, CHEAP FOOD always gets people excited.. but i guess from the huge crowds they get every day they can live off the cheap menu prices. dislikes: im into shrek and everything and love onions because of him but the onions are huge. they should really be asking would you like some burger with your onion. the fries lose all flavor after 5 mins, better eat them while they're hot and ask for extra salt on the side. read more
