I used to love In and Out but for some reason lately they've been messing up our orders. It happened twice in two different locations, one in Millbrae California and San Carlos California. In Millbrae, I ordered mine with grilled onions, instead they put a huge chunk of raw onions. I am very furious and disappointed, especially when I'm looking forward to have it. If we're talking about burgers. There is probably none higher than the ones being served at these establishment. Not even the golden arches can hold a candle to their burgers. Nope, not even with their secret sauce. So we drop by to purchase ourselves some inflight meal before we board our Delta Airline jet back to Detroit. I figure we get an order of fries and 3 double double for me and my husband to share. Trust me, burgers are fine going through security. They might harass you jokingly about it, but it's definitely better than the lackluster wrap or sammich they sling in the plane. The place is really nice and clean. I have lost my taste for In-N-Out due to this location. The major reason is the inconsistency of the food quality at this location. I like my fries just a little bit more done than normal, so I order light well. At this location that means anything from totally dried out hard rock fries to lamp that they won't even stand out straight. No two orders come even close anymore at this location . Just taking normal fries at this location. You have about a 50% chance of getting totally underdone fries. The burger quality here also seems to have suffered over the last couple years. I can no longer say that they are the best, fast food burger in the area. read more

One of my go-to burger joints when I am unsure of what to eat. I can always count on the consistency of the food and the service is always top notch. You may have heard of the "secret" menu and it definitely adds to the appeal. I love the number 1 animal style which gets you the grilled onions and spread. In additional I get well-done fries, also animal style. The extra crisp in the fries prevent them from getting soggy while you enjoy your burger. Why stop there with the secrets though? This spot has degenerated so much from when I used to come here since I was a child. I grew up in the area and this spot was really nice but over the years food quality started falling and prices went up. I paid $4 for a tiny amount of animal style fries last visit and it was very disappointing when the ones in Daly City are so much better. Also want to point out I haven't had animal fries in a longtime but a couple years ago they filled the box up and it was hefty. Now I felt like I got seriously jipped. Maybe management is very stingy, whatever it is never coming back here of my own volition. I used to go to 24 on Gellert and the in n out nearby were much higher quality and consistency bomb. I don't eat meat anymore so can't say about now but the past years I didn't really enjoy the burgers here. The quality was absolutely declining and probably still is. But I am also aware they used to be so much better so that could also have an affect on my judging this location. If you never had in n out do yourself a huge favor and just go to the one on Gellert in DC, I promise you will not be disappointed. Or try both and be the judge for yourself. I walked back to hotel room and opened my cheese fry box to find a box full of fries that were held together by a massive pile of cheese. I couldn't pick out one fry without picking up the box and 30 other fries. I tried to use a fork, but that do help much. I will say the few fries I had weren't good. The cheese itself wasn't good. Not sure what kind of cheese In-N-Out uses, but it's not the kind I like or the kind I have eaten on other orders of cheese fries from other places. So, let's talk about the burger. It was salty, and just ok. Nothing to write home about and nothing to rave about. I have had better burgers from Five Guys. I do think the burger was better than the fries. However, I think this In-N-Out should take it easy on the onions. I was asked if I wanted onions when I ordered, and I said yes. I didn't think I would get half of an onion on my single cheeseburger. My sister wanted to get in n out one last time before we left SF, so we thought it would be more efficient if we went to this one near the airport right before our flight. We were not prepared for the long line of cars at the drive thru, but an employee was going up to the cars and taking orders so that helped speed things along. We drove up to two different windows after our order was taken - one for paying and the other for picking up the food. We just parked in the lot to eat in the car, but we saw some outdoor seating too. I think this location serves less fries than the one at fisherman's wharf, though the food and taste is what you can expect from any other in n out. I tried a vanilla shake instead of my usual strawberry shake, and while it was yummy, I think I'll just stick to strawberry next time! read more

What makes this location unique is that it's the closest to SFO/the airport. This location boasts a multitude of outdoor tables, more than the average In & Out, which was nice. When we got our order, my burger was incorrect (asked for cheeseburger with grilled onions, got a hamburger with regular onions), so I took it back to the counter and they happily replaced it (though it did take an extra few minutes). I am from Vancouver BC and this is what I have to say. In-N-Out is so popular or famous that its name made it to Vancouver. Every year there is this In-N-Out day where they come with their giant trunks and sell their combo here. Line up is 6 hrs long. Crazy eh!!!! So when I am in Cali, this means a trip to In-N-Out. Second time being at an In-N-Out and I still don't know what so special about it. Got the cheeseburger. It was ok. Tasty. Not so much meat. Patty was small. Fries are sad looking. Wait is about 15 mins. Not too bad. This includes ordering and getting the food. Inside fully packed full of people. Getting Plenty of parking here (I am thinking Panera bread is in the same mall so you can park there too). Cheap food though. read more
