Because we had been shopping next door at Michael's, the grandchildren wanted to eat at Jersey Mikes. I've never eaten at a Jersey Mikes so the grandparents were happy to give it a try. The sandwiches were very good, very fresh. The price was fair for the large sandwiches with drinks and chips. They have a very good root beer and I heard from grandson that the vanilla soda was good, too. The sandwich makers were very gracious and explained how the sandwich was made (ingredients). I love Jersey Mike's and have gone to many different locations all over (NorCal, SoCal, Pennsylvania, Florida, Hawaii) and unfortunately this one so far has been the worst service. The food is great - predictable, consistent, and delicious. Better than other sandwich shops for sure. However the wait here was insane!! I tried to mobile order last week and it said online the food would be ready in 10-15 minutes. By the time I arrived to the shop it had been 15 minutes so I was expecting to only have to wait a few minutes extra upon arrival. Unfortunately I ended up waiting an extra 35 minutes standing at the entrance. A total of 45-50 minute wait for a sandwich is crazy especially with a mobile order. At that point I should have just waited in line and gotten my sandwich MUCH faster. People who did that were in and out in 15 mins... I think they need a better way to handle a surplus of mobile and take out orders during a lunch rush. read more

We got the extra large size which is a great value if you are sharing with another person, as it's cut into four small, easy to eat sections. I love how the meat is sliced and how fine the lettuce is shredded. Most sandwiches come with olive oil, red wine, vinaigrette, oregano, salt, onion, tomato, and lettuce. There's a variety of breads, but I recommend the rosemary Parmesan for a nice touch. Gluten-free is available for an extra charge around $2. Overall, this isn't the best sandwiches in the world, but it certainly hit the spot and enough to go back again. I also hear the brownies and cookies are pretty good. Inside it's your typical sandwich shop not too different than a subway. A few seats if you wanna eat inside. The guy who helped me was nice and offered to get my order for me pretty quick. This time I read some Yelp reviews, and made a better choice on what to order. I went with a #9 Club Supreme, Mike's way, Reg Size. To-Go. This location has a modern decor. It's clean and neat. The staff were very helpful, and answered all my questions. The place has a large indoor dining area, and a few tables outside. Now, I have a dilemma. Which is better.....Jersey Mikes or Togos? I've asked other Yelpers, and it's a hard decision. Togos is my hometown favorite, but it seems Jersey Mikes might be worth a short drive. My Club Supreme Sub was excellent. I got it Mike's Way, with all that delicious good stuff just jammed and stuffed between two pieces of bread. This isn't a footlong like a certain "subway" place. But for nearly the same price, you get a great balance of meat, veggies, and condiments. I didn't get a sense they skimped on anything. Reg Sized Club Supreme was $10.95. Very good sandwich. Mmmm! Great subs. Multiple people help you with your order (it's like assembly line style), and I found everyone to be nice and friendly. I had the club sub made with mike's way. It was delicious! The bread at jersey mike's is so good. It holds up well and has a good bite to it. The texture is nice and crumbly on the bottom from the flour, which I enjoy. The meats (turkey, ham) were sliced thin and piled high. The bacon was crunchy! Yum yum. The "mike's way" adds onions, chopped lettuce, tomato, red wine vinegar, olive oil, oregano, and salt to the sub. I really like what the vinegar brings to the sub, it gives it a little acidity to balance all the savory flavors out. I should try this when I make sandwiches, lol! I will say though they may have gone a little overboard dressing the sub with vinegar (as much as I enjoy vinegar) because the sub was very wet on the side when I sat down to eat it, about 15 minutes later. If it sat longer I'm sure it'd be soggy for sure. Other than that, flavors are on point! Their chocolate chip cookies are surprisingly really good too! I came in there yesterday (March 9) in the evening around 6ish. Ordered a mini #10 and mini #6. I had the tuna. The sandwich was nearly inedible as it had so much "juice" making the bread soggy and the sandwich overpowering of oil and vinegar. The gal working was new or in training. Hey, when friends want a Philly cheesesteak, I refer them to Jersey Mike's here in San Mateo on El Camino. So today I was telling two friends I was with hey let's go get a cheesesteak over at Jersey Mike's and boy was I disappointed and they were not too impressed! With seven people working (that I could count) , the one working, the guy on the grill was slower than molasses. We put our order in at 1:07 and didn't get it until 1:26. My friends ordered the giant Philly cheesesteak with only jalapeños on one side and jalapeños were throughout. It says extra cheese - there was barely any cheese on my regular size. When I asked for an extra slice of cheese, the tall guy who I thought was the manager, but was not he said, went to the back and had to ask around, put on a glove like he was going to grab a piece of cheese and then came back to me and said, did you want one piece or two? At that point "I said forget it my subs getting cold as it is." On a positive note, the team looks like they get along great! But when it comes to attention to customer service, somebody needs to train them better or be there and do a check on them. But what really set the establishment apart, was the staff. There were three people working and each one worked on my order. Came in to grab a sandwich today and settled with a giant #43 Chipotle cheesesteak. The staff was friendly and was nice enough to cut my sandwich in half and wrap it separately. The sandwich cost me with tax $19.35 which seems expensive but is fine when you consider you are getting 2 meals out of it. While I was waiting for my sub, a staff member cleaned my table taking away my water and napkins which I didn't mind because it showed the staff was keeping the dining area tidy. The manager replaced my cup and gave me some new napkins so I could enjoy my meal. Before Jersey Mike's got here I used to go to Jersey Joe''s. The subs were fine but they were all that I knew. While Jersey Mikes is a chain, their subs definitely taste better than Jersey Joe's. This place is well managed and the staff was courteous. I called today to place an order for pick-up of a "sub-by-the-box" and was told I couldn't order over the phone and to order online. Because online pick-up gave me an hour estimate for the pick-up, I decided to drive over immediately to avoid the hour wait. I get to the location and was told I couldn't order the sub by the box at the "order here" counter and would have to order online. I'm aware the box is only 6 sandwiches cut in half. For a chain, it's a damn good sandwich and at decent prices too. I used to go to Mr. Pickles on El Camino since they made a good BLT but after my last visit, I vowed to stop going there after spending 22 dollars for a sandwich, chip and a drink. I usually go with the original Italian, but this time I wanted to try the tuna in addition to that. I got one mini tuna, and one mini original Italian. They ended up making the tuna a regular size (didn't notice until the end) and they were about to charge me for a regular and mini, but ended up charging me for two minis which I appreciated. However, they gave regular mustard instead of honey mustard that I requested. And with the Yelp check-in for a free cookie, I was able to select any cookie at the Santa Clara location but I was unable to pick this time around.
