This location has two lanes with outdoor seating. It's also next to a drive-thru Starbucks. So don't park in their spaces unless they're closed. When I come here, the lines in the drive-thru in either lane is not long. The funny thing is when I was in the first lane, that's the one on the right. A lady pulled in on the second lane, the one on the left. As I was finished with my order over the intercom, I see that she is rolling down her passenger window. She wasn't rolling down her window to talk to me. I could tell she is rolling down her window in preparation to order at the intercom for my lane. I had to tell her the other side is where she needs to place her order. I can hear on the intercom in her lane, "Hi, how are you?" The lady's driver side window was up. I really wanted to laugh and at the same time, this seemed really sad that she didn't notice there is an intercom for each lane. read more

Location is a bit slow but decent speed. The main issue is the location forgets a lot of items that you ask for with your order. For example, no straws or banana peppers were provided, but were specifically asked for. When you arrive home with your food it is upsetting to not have what you asked for. read more

Just like any other IN n Out, it tastes great... #2 - No Onion - diet coke with lemon in it! Extra ketchup and 2 spreads! It was decent.. Lets just say Im not the biggest fan of IN n Out because its too small! YES I SAID IT! Size matters, and In n Out burgers are too small and they dont fill the endless pit that I call a stomach! Other than that, it tastes fine... I'm not really a fan of their fries (ducks for flying objects coming her way from her co-workers who swear by their fries)...... I don't like it! This location has no inside seating, so we grabbed some tables outside under the shade, enjoyed our food which took me 2 min to finish (ITS TOO SMALL PEOPLE)... and we were on our way! Last week I had the *cough* joy *cough* of driving around a pair of noisy, whiny children (ages 4 and 18 respectively) to a dentist appointment. They were both starving afterwards cause I lack any motherly-type instincts and forgot to feed them before venturing off to no man's land. After pretending to be Batman and a dozen rounds of hide-and-seek, I was pretty famished myself so I rushed through traffic like a mad woman to get the older kid to school and luckily had enough time to stop by my neighborhood In-N-Out. The friendly voice on the speaker took my order and less than ten minutes later two carboard boxes appeared bearing gifts from the Motherland. I think my pretend superhero senses were still on overdrive, cause I swerved out of that drive thru like a mofo' nearly poppin' a wheelie onto the main road. Using multitasking powers, I steered with two fingers while catching a few stray fries from the cheesy, saucy amalgamated mass sitting in one of the boxes... then my brain exploded for ten seconds and I let go of the wheel. Completely. As in "Look ma, no hands". The fries gave me a serious braingasm and I slumped there twitching mindlessly for a moment. Luckily the squeals of both children brought me to my senses, otherwise I wouldn't be here proclaiming my intense, burning love for Animal-style fries. Or my mad desire for anything In-N-Out, period. Burgers are made with REAL beef and fresh toppings. Granted, it's nothing fancy or premium, but I still get satisfaction from its juice dribbling down my chin. My lettuce is crunchy till the last bite and that thousand island concoction they slather on the patties should win the Noble Prize. And how awesome are those shakes? Another Yelper mentioned they were too thick, but duh! That's their trademark. It's REAL ice cream in there, not some watered down froyo. As for the location, I've tried other places... even across county lines (Downey, Valencia, San Jose, etc), and none really hits the spot like this one. The service I've received on more than frequent visits is always exceptional. Plus they've never messed up my order which scores big points when I've got picky people to feed. A West Coast Burger Story. So I'm a bit of a burger fiend. I've searched the greater NY area for the greatest burger I could find, and have slowly been yelping about it in a burger list. But I keep hearing people tell me..."yo dude, you gotta try and In-N-Out bro!' (yes that is indeed how I recall people from the West Coast speaking to me). So after flying to LA for a short period of time on business, I knew I couldn't leave there until trying it, and I'm glad that I finally did. I asked the morning driver- "so how about this In-N-Out?" He replies- "you have to try the double-double," hereby referred to as tip no.1, and "make sure you eat it with the wrapper on," or tip no.2 Later in the day (I'd been mentioning it as much possible without abruptly changing the topic of the conversation, but I wonder if I used the word burger more times than humanly tolerated when conducting business), I recieve tip no.3- "Animal Style." What is it," I ask? "You're going to have to find out," is the reply. My intrigue rises. Finally, driver no,2 arrives to take me to the airport. My flight isn't until hours later. I tell Driver no.2, a friendly sort named Miguel, that you must do this New York burger fiend a collosal favor- please take an excursion to In-N-Out. Miguel, being the friendly guy that he is, says "no problem buddy- I'm not sure where it is on the way to the airport, but if we can find one we'll go." And so it begins- not quite like Harold and Kumar's search for the ever elusive White Castle, but sort of like that in my mind as my brain starts to go rabid for burger grease. Miguel relates that his daughter loves In-N-Out, and I relate that I wish I looked up locations on the internet. He turns these two vital pieces of information into a plan, and calls his daughter to look up where we can find the nearest place on the internet. In the meanwhile, he gives me control of his GPS device, and I start furiously searching the points of interest. So the wheels are in motion, but then something horrible happens. We lose focus of keeping our eyes on the prize (or the side of the road), and miss an In-n-Out while riding the freeway! "Never fear," says Miguel, as he gets off at the nearest exit and begins tracking back. But after a bit of confusion on the sideroads, we still haven't found the place. So Miguel, reaching deep into his bag of tricks, stops at a gas station and asks a good samaritan. And thus we receive tip no.4- there's an in and out a couple minutes down after making a left! I can smell caramelized onions and feel melted cheese oozing onto my hands. Finally we enter this burger palace. I tell Miguel- for your bravery and effort, lunch is on me. We both go for the double-double combos, animal style (adhering to tips no.2 and 3), and Miguel takes it up a notch and opts for his fries Animal Style- now this is an admirable man. The burgers are fantastic- a double cheeseburger with special sauce, grilled onions, lettuce and tomato. Like combining the best qualities of a Five Guys burger (double meat and fresh toppings) with the Big Mac (double meat and special sauce!), and adding another layer of greasy goodness. The ground beef, a salty, crispy double of delicious flavor. The bun was perfect- not soft and soggy like Five Guys can be, and sufficiently soaked in grease. This is fast food at its artery clogging best. I keep the wrapper on to soak up the grease, as per tip no.1. Oh no! I forgot to tell Miguel about tip no.1! He's a bit of a mess, but enjoying every minute of it. His animal fries are loaded with special sauce and onions, and are delicious. He offers to share. I appreciate the heroism of this man. Later I take my delicious, perfectly cooked plain fries to the airport where I'm greeted with gawking and looks of jealousy, as if I'm a celebrity (after all I am in LA, decked out for business and quite handsome). But its the logo on the bag they're after, and I have no problem admitting, its quite sexy. read more

I went around 11p last night and Service was very unprofessional. Employees that were I'm guessing "off shift" were half dressed inside of the see through room right next to the cars and they were very child like. While I was waiting for my order one employee popped up from behind my car and began to socialize with another through the window, so while I was waiting for my food, his whole back side was in my face. They were chatting with friends that came along in there cars and the service was very slow. I asked for 2 specific things in my burger and to my least of surprise they were missing. Not only that but the quality of the food was very soggy and yucky. Definitely disappointed with my visit last night. Just letting you know up front that this review is a comparison to your average In-N-Out. You should already know that In-N-Out makes consistently delicious burgers and fries; I can't imagine anyone not having heard of it and coming to Yelp to get more information. It's a mainstay of the Southern California landscape and you'd have to be living with the muppets of Fraggle Rock to not know about it. If you're too young to get that reference, how about "you'd have to be kidnapped with an insane Taylor Swift in the Blank Space video with no way out to not know about it" That said, what is this...an In-N-Out for ants?! This location is tiny and is ill-suited to cater the numerous customers that flock to this place. There is no dining area and it is literally for customers who want to be In-N-Out with their food. There is a window where you can order in person that serves pedestrians (or customers who are trying to beat the drive-thru line). There are 2 lines (left and right) that make up the drive-thru that flank the building where the food is served. That means if you're on the left drive-thru then you pay and receive your meal from the passenger side (of your best friend's ride, trying to holler at...nevermind). This is pretty inconvenient when you're by yourself. And the lines, holy crap, the lines take forever. Waiting cars spill out into the streets of Norwalk and since the food preparation area is so small, only around 7 employees can fit in there. They need to be constantly restocked by the storehouse across the right drive-thru - startlingly inefficient for a usually efficient business. I've never been to an In-N-Out that wasn't busy so you can imagine how one with severe limitations would do. So I'm there sitting in my car, waiting for my food, hoping that the length of my wait is long enough for this location to experience evolution, and my only guess is that when they built this place they weren't expecting many customers. No designer can be that unqualified. But the fact is, this location just barely functions. The best tip I can give is that you go to one of the other locations if you want to want a better In-N-Out experience. Or if you prefer to write a novel while waiting for your food, this place is perfect! (But the food is still good as usual, so there's that). read more

You don't think the fries are soggy? Milk shakes are too thick? Maybe I'm just weird. I've tried it all: animal style, 4x4, protein, grilled cheese sandwich, etc. and after 20+ years I still don't understand why people would drop their panties for some In-N-Out. Nothing against this particular location, it just so happens to be the closest one to my pad. It's a drive thru location and it is very convenient for fast food. This branch has been the default growing up. Location: Pioneer Blvd near Norwalk Square (-) no indoor seating (-) building construction is not the most efficient since drive thru lines can get really long and thus cause some unnecessary traffic to the main street Wait Time: Drive Thru line was spilling into the streets. Usually there's an attendant who's outside getting the drivers' orders to expedite the process. Nope, not this time. Everyone was cooped up in the small kitchen/register area. Service: Sadly, it has gone down hill over the years. The employees (different ones) keep asking the customers, "What did you order?" So, if you especially have a tall order, you better be able to go through that list multiple times. Taste: My mom's and aunt's double double burgers were up to the usual in-n-out standard. I can't say the same for my protein style hamburger. It was sloppily made. I've gotten protein style before at other branches, and theirs were more neat (presentation wise) and substantial. You'd expect more lettuce in protein style, but not here. Even that was lacking. Bottom line: I'd go here during the non-peak hours. Maybe then you'd get better service that's at par with the in-n-out standard. Otherwise, save your time and go to a different branch. read more

This location seems to make alot of mistakes. They made a mistake on my protein style no sauce hamburger. Wasn't happy about since I discovered the mistake after I got home and was too tired to go back. I called corp where they apologized and offered me a coupon for a FREE combo. I was happy about that. Hungry on a school day evening. When you're a student In n Out for dinner is gold!! Compared to top ramen noodles. Sorry to any college student on that diet currently, been there, done that! Anyways! When we rolled into the drive through, there were about 4 vehicles ahead of us (far left entrance). We ordered 3 double doubles and a side of fries. We waited for about 15 minutes for the food. I guess we are spoiled and are used to our local In n Out being a little quicker. We said "WTH is taking so long?? What did these guys order??" We get to the window, finally, and I kid you not this building was a square, their kitchen probably had enough space to touch the walls on each side. I'd have to say that this In-N-Out is an important cornerstone to the neighborhood, because there is not a surplus of good resturaunts in Norwalk. The staff here is great and of course the food is a California Classic. There is a small outdoor eating area with about 2 or 3 tables. The only drawback I can say is there is only enough room for about 4 cars in each of their two drive thru's and the line sometimes extends into Pioneer, which can turn into a fairly busy street at times. Me: Southern CA native I practically grew up on IN-N-OUT. I used to have it almost every week. They never had fish nor chicken.. and never will. Accept it, get over it, move on. For Michael W, get Fries WELL DONE. They lightly cook their fries and since the potatoes are fresh, they tend to shrivel up and get "soggy. Fries at other fast food places get flash-fried THEN go into the freezer for the long transport. and In-n-out do not have freezers.. everything is fresh. An order of Well done fries will get you the crispy crunchiness you are looking for. Here are some of the stuff in their "secret" menu if you guys don't know already: Animal Style - Mustard-seared buns, pickles, extra spread. Grilled Cheese - everything except the meat, double/triple the cheese slices - yes, lettuce and tomatoes.. onions too~ Veggie - same as grilled cheese, minus the cheese Flying Dutchman - two patties w/ cheese in between... thats it.. no buns neither. Neapolitan Shake - they layer all three flavors in your cup. Protein style - no bun, lettuce wrap instead Animal Style Fries - its spread, cheese, pickles over your fries.. but i think fries are best well done w/ ketchup or a dunk in the shake. (not all locations will do this though..) Cheese fries - ask for cheese over your fries, if thats your thing. Why the 4 stars? this location is notoriously slow with their drive thru. This is the second night in a row in which I go to this place and both times I've been disappointed. The fries are extremely hard, and my burgers have no lettuce whatsoever in them. Avoid this place like the plague! The food at this In-N-Out is great, as it always is at any location, but the service is terrible. The drive-thru line was spilling into the street, so I figured I beat the cars and order at the window. I had a pretty simple order: animal-style fries and animal-style grilled cheese (no meat to cook, not even a drink). Yet, it took 20 minutes for me to get my order. Not only did the customers who came after me get their food, but even ~8 cars that came after me in the drive-thru got their orders before mine. I eventually got half my order after I had to ask about it at the window. I was then told that they were still making the other half and I'd have to wait longer. When they finally gave me my order (after almost a half hour of waiting), I didn't even receive an apology for the wait. Plus, the food looked slapped together haphazardly, very unappetizing. I understand that I came during the lunch rush (Wed at 12:40), but this was such a horrible experience that I will not be returning. read more

The customer service has always been top notch. I have been coming to this location for years and the age of the location adds to the charm.
