Unfortunately the person I spoke to on the phone didn't provide an estimate for the work despite repeated requests to please give me a price range. They said minimum $15. I needed to access my home so I begrudgingly agreed. Once the locksmith came out, he spent very little time attempting to pick the lock or use all of his tools-instead he decided breaking the door handle/lock was the fastest easiest approach for him. Literally maybe 15 minutes in and out. Had the gall to ask me for close to $400! Settled on $350 cash. Stay away! read more

Sam came with his brother from Virginia and tried to fix our Infiniti-QX4 from 2000 they were not able to fix it since they didnt have the computer system cuz it was a very old car, yet didnt take a dollar from me. they told us what we needed and offered to refer us to the person who has the machinery. I was recommended by my sister, she had used their service before and said they were great, for me to use them was a must, and after calling other places because of Labor Day their times were not matching with us. When I called here in the middle of the day, they gave me an amazing price and said they would be here ASAP, didnt mind driving from LA to OC. Felt bad since it's a holiday and I could of called someone more local, but that was not an issue to them at all. Adi was the gentleman who came to the rescue. He was super kind and beyond helpful, took him about 20 min to finish, and so embarrassing that the battery on our vehicle was dead and he charged it for me. Avoid this man. He charged me $1624 (reduced from $1890 when I protested in shock) to drill through my deadbolt & replace it when I locked myself out. He was rude when I objected to the price, muttering something about people who live in $2 million dollar houses (for the record, I don't). He was unresponsive when I tried to reach him by phone. He seemed inept, breaking two drill bits, making a mess which he failed to clean up, and not even carrying a pen for when I asked for an itemized receipt (which was illegible). He never told me his name. His receipt said "24/7 Locksmith Services" with no address or phone number. He requested payment to Im [sic] & Out Locksmith. My call requesting assistance had been made to Melrose Locksmith. He ended up having to come to my house 3 times because he carried no supplies with him and then said that the charges covered his travel from his house. I was probably a fool to pay him and not to have found out up front what his fees were, but I just wanted him to go away. I have never had to write a bad review before, but the service I received from IN N OUT locksmith is *outrageous.* Sam from IN N OUT charged me $400, did not fix my car, then stopped responding to my phone calls. For real. Let me tell my story, to add credibility to my claim. My ignition switch was stuck in "accessory" mode. I called another service. They dispatched Sam to my house. Sam replaced one of the wafers in my ignition cylinder. The key turned in the ignition and the car started without a problem. I paid Sam. Then I noticed a problem. The car didn't recognize that I had removed the key from the ignition. The lights didn't turn off, the remote / keyless entry didn't work. The car was not fixed. I brought the problem to Sam's attention. He didn't know what was wrong, but told me he had to leave to pick his brother up from the airport. He would consult with someone and call me back. He did not call me back. I called him again. He insisted that he had "fixed the problem with the key" and didn't have any further responsibility to me. I pointed out that, from my perspective, I called him to fix my ignition and that he clearly still had work to do. I would pay him for the additional work and parts, but not for an additional base service fee. The conversation was frustrating, but friendly. He said he would call me back after his brother's surgery that night. I reached out to him multiple times. I left friendly messages inquiring about his brother. Then, as weeks passed, I left angry messages. Now I am leaving my first negative review for Sam on Yelp. Sam brought it on himself read more

This is for the one at 1262 Pico. They are AWESOME!!! My car's FOB stopped working so I couldn't lock/unlock my car from it. I also couldn't get battery cover off to replace (by going to AutoZone next door). They walked next door, got the 2 batteries and replaced it all within 5 min for a good price (2 batteries replaced and sealed back up $25-I shudder to think how much that would have been at a dealer or even mechanic. A new FOB key from Mercedes is like $300. They make copies for almost half that. They were also super friendly. I'll get all things key related done here from now on! Thank you!!! read more
