I came to this place for nails and let me tell you I loved Annie and sandy they do an amazing job! I got Annie's number and texted her every time I want a nail appointment and she tells me wait one second and never texts me back and I end up with no appointment ! I call the salon and I make an appointment for two different dates and I go to the first one they tell me sorry you don't have an appointment. I asked them to check the second date and they hadn't marked that one as well. Let me tell you they didn't even care to find someone else to do my nails after I left work early just to make it to my nails to get it done by Annie because she's so good! I said whatever Annie's good despite their horrible service I'll call again and make appointment again I go they tell me I don't have appointment and no one cares to get my nails done after 3 times of doing this to me. So it's my wedding in two weeks ! I call them to make an appointment 3 weeks in advance and Annie is booked out so I tell Her okay let me do sandy she tells me sandy doesn't have time for both pedicure and manicure you can only do one I said okay let me do manicure she goes do you not understand sandy can't do just one for you and she hangs up! So now I'm left with no appointment for my wedding and I usually never write yelp reviews but this place definitely deserves one ! Every time I go they charge me different for French tip and the last time I went they decided to charge me more for getting a neon color. Um... am I missing something? Did I just happen to get the WORST two nail technicians in this place or something? I am so confused. I came here for a mani pedi and was pretty appalled by the experience. First off, their polish's are pretty shitty. Second off, they HURT me the entire time. LIke very aggressive on the cuticle cutting. The manicurist cut my thumb cuticle so badly it started bleeding. She didn't apologize or even act like anything happened! She just got some liquid to pour on it and kept on her way. It burned like a bitch the entire time. The lady giving me a pedi was so rough I thought she was removing a layer of skin while she scrubbed. Oh, and the massage part... did that 15 seconds of lotion rubbing count? Oyyy. THE BEST NAIL SALON IN THE VALLEY! Ladies (mostly ladies are clients there), this is the ultimate nail salon. I almost don't want to advertise it too much, because lately it's been a little tough to get an appointment with the lady I like best, but I won't say her name, just will praise the place. I've been a client for the last 4 years. Every week I go there to get may nails done. Every week for manicure and every 3 weeks for pedicure. Beautiful job, polish stays for a least a week. Always, and I mean it, on every single occasion, I leave satisfied. I've tried other places and it is not the same. Call it a habit if you'd like, but only girls from this salon really know how to get the job done. I don't know if they do such a good job on the acrylic nails. I've noticed that all the clients there go for regular manicures. I am so very happy with this place. All my friends and relatives go here. I am never afraid to refer someone there and people always thank me for referral. Weather it is a special occasion or a regular weekly manicure you can count on them to make your hands and feet pretty. A little tip. Every time I go away for a vacation, I mention it to my manicurist and she puts some special coat that my manicure easily survives a 10 day trip. Rude, impersonal, and extremely disappointing. The most painful and unenjoyable pedicure I have ever had. At 9 months pregnant I was looking forward to treating myself to a nice pedicure and manicure, and after reading the reviews I decided to give this place a try. First off, I had not been looking at colors for more than 30 seconds when the woman came over and said she was ready for me. When I said I needed a moment to pick a color she stood in my face for a second and then grabbed a color an shoved it in my hand telling me "this one is fine." Once I sat down the torture began. She dug so deep and cut so much both of my feet bled a bit and hurt like hell. When I continually pulled my foot away with a look of pain and discomfort, she just grabbed it and kept on digging away. I get a pedicure every few weeks and this was by far the worst I've ever had. She also massaged both of my feet for less than a minute combined, the part I look forward to the most when getting a pedicure. I would never come back here, and didn't even bother to wait for the manicure. After wasting $15, I drove just down the way to the newly opened Casablanca nails and got an amazing manicure. About 20 visits later, I am happy to say this place has my business over any other nail salon in the area. Why? Well here we go: 1) SANDY - Although I have had several techs at this salon, all of which I have been pretty satisfied with, Sandy is my fave. She is, hands down the best tech there, no discredit on the other techs but Sandy puts up with me. I am a pain in the ass and I know it. I'll sit there and watch every last little detail and far too often I'll grab the nail file and file my own nails. I haven't had to do that with Sandy. 2) THEY ARE ALWAYS VERY ATTENTIVE TO ANYONE WHO WALKS THROUGH THEIR DOORS (not just to their regulars, but everyone) - Before I became a regular, I walked in at 6:45pm on more than several occasions and someone always stayed behind to attend me, mind you they close at 7pm. 2) PRICES ARE REASONABLE AND ALWAYS THE SAME - They don't randomly charge you additional "I'm feeling like charging you more today fees", way too many times this has occurred to me when going to a nail salon and getting gel nails with the excuse, "Oh, the $8 extra dollars are to take off your old gels" My response, "oh, well why is that not listed and why wasn't I charged that fee last time?" Came here with a friend last week - if you're looking for ambiance, there isn't much, HOWEVER, I paid $15 for a regular manicure and a week later my nails haven't chipped or gotten run down at all. And I have been working out, showering, washing dishes, typing at work, and they still look great. I'm pretty impressed! In the past I would've given them 5 stars and have been coming for about two years now. They always (now, half the time) do the best job on my cuticles/skin around my nails keeping it clean between visits, but recently not as consistently. My pedicure from Sunday has already chipped, and it is Wednesday. But my biggest issue, that I've been struggling with for almost a year now with them, and have been coming less frequently, is just doing my nails the way I say to do them, especially color choice. I've had them change colors when I'm not looking, paint over a color I've picked with another, and argue with me that another color is better (turquoise toes not a summer color? That's beachy as hell. And, more importantly, WHAT I WANT. Not sea foam green.) I've had them override me when I'm not looking, I've caved in and I've fought back. I've told them nicely and sternly. I've had them trade or refuse to do my colors. I took it as a challenge to stand up for myself, but I'm over it. This last time I wanted a design, nude/tan on top with a large half-moon arch in soft green on the bottom. It doesn't matter if that is rad or lame, it is what I wanted to do with my nails in August. We talked about it, I showed her both colors, both were brought out, and I showed her a picture. We agreed this was it. I took a work call around the time she started, and I also didn't question the order she was painting in (start with green? Ok, makes sense I guess.) Nah. She had decided to give me full green nails with SPARKLE GLITTER MOONS. Screw my request or needs, let's give me teen teenage mutant ninja turtle 80s glitter nails. When the glitter came out, I stopped her. But had to meet a friend and didn't have time to start over. I work in an office. These nails are not appropriate to my daily life. I needed a small pop of color. So I'm stuck with these TMNT nails, and done with In Style Nails. Sorry they couldn't just "do" my nails but had to walk all over my free will one too many times and left me with a lamer outcome than my original ideas (which, I admit, some are better than others, but at least they're mine.) read more

They have been busy every time I have gone there, but they are always accommodating, even if you don't have an appointment. They're open seven days a week, which is an added bonus too. Sometimes, they can be rude, not all the time. Their services are pretty standard, and very reasonably priced. 23 dollars for a manicure pedicure is fine with me. Their waiting area is kind of awkward, because of their oddly shaped waiting room furniture, but I've never had to wait terribly long there anyway. It looks like there is limited parking, but they have a lot on the roof or something like that, so just swing around back and see what you can find. Only open till 7 though, and will probably turn you away after 6:30. ---- I just went back to this place to get a full arcylic set done, and I love it. I've been coming here since I moved to the valley in 2001 and I have never been let down by any of the staff here. Even when I bring my husband with me they are always prompt, pay attention to detail and do an awesome job on my pedicures. Recently they have remodeled and have all new chairs, and a refreshed interior. Pedicures are super reasonable ($15 I think) and a full mani/pedi $23-25 depending on what you get done. I noticed that they are now using an autoclave to sterilize implements between customers and when we've gone in the last few months the tools are opened in front of us - which I appreciate. My pedicure lasts for at least 2-3 weeks. Over all - 10 plus years of coming here for everything ranging from mani/pedi to full set of acrylics for a special occasion - and all done great! Even the times I have botched my own polish they've always just touched it up for me. Tip - be sure to bring cash for the tip as they don't allow tipping on the credit card. The price is reasonable but the quality is not the best. My pedicure has lasted a little over a week but my manicure ended peeling off less than a week. I went in with gels, and the nail tech ground my nail down so much with the drill that several layers of my natural nail were removed. If not by the drill, then by the scraper after the acetone. I have had gels on my nails successfully for over a year and have never had any problems when I see my regular nail tech. However, getting them removed at InStyle was not my wisest decision, and now my nails are flimsy and breaking. The cost for mani/pedi is $25. I went very early on a Saturday morning and it wasn't too crowded yet, although they were very busy. Parking lot is small, but there is metered street parking on Ventura, and minimal side street parking uphill. They take card for payment but cash for tips. read more

I got a mani-pedi and it was fast. I'm surprised at the amount of techs working on the floor. I loved the lady that worked on my feet and was less than impressed with the mani tech since she was sloppy and did an uneven polish application job and could not do the somewhat simple design I was asking for. However, I do have to rate this shop on an overall experience. The guy at the front desk/cashier is SHADY. He's kind of stand-offish, rude and barely speaks English-- but those aren't the reasons why he's shady. I asked for him to break my $20 bill so I can tip the nail techs and he ended up giving me 2 fives and 9 ones back hoping he could cheat me out of a dollar. I let him know and he gave me my money back right away without even questioning me-- I think because he knew he had just been caught trying to steal. I have been going to In Style Nails for over 10 years, more regularly in the past 5 years since I moved closer. Some of the girls are better than others but overall they do an impeccable job. My nails look great for a whole week even if I get brighter colors. I have gone to some fancy salons on Ventura and had chipped nails 2 days later. The prices are cheap - $25 for mani and pedi combined. I always end up leaving a nice tip because the results are great. They are always clean, accommodating and friendly to me. They are under a new ownership now - the place is looking much better. I am not sure I'll miss the previous owner because she clearly had mood swings, but even that added a flavor of the place. I hope they keep the girls who have been working there and hope the prices don't jump too high. It's our neighborhood gem. read more

They take the best care of my hands and feet and the polishes always last longer than they do at other places (2-3 weeks for mani, 3-4 weeks for pedi). This nail shop is one of the better ones I have found in Studio City for the price. The staff is very friendly and the shop overall is very clean. They carry a wide selection of Essi, OPI and gel colors. They put fingerless gloves on for you when doing a gel manicure so the UV light doesn't harm your skin. A regular A mani-pedi is currently $25, however their prices are going up to $27 on May 1st, which is a bit on the expensive side. My review is about their utter lack of customer service and complete disrespect that I myself experienced when dealing with them. I had a run in with the gelled up douchebag that sits at the counter. He's the only male in the place. My wife was there yesterday getting her nails done. Later that night she realized she lost her debit card. She's positive she left it at the nail shop earlier in the day. So she calls today and shit bag answers the phone and is completely rude to her. She tells him she's sure she left her card at his shop can he please check. He says "yea it's here" at this point she hasnt even given him her name. So she tells him her name and to please confirm that's the name on the card so she doesn't waste her time driving all the way there after work, since it's in the opposite direction of home, only to find out it's not hers. This asshole just says "I don't have time for this!" And he hangs up. She calls 2 MORE TIMES to get him to confirm the card. All he says is "yea it's here" and he just hangs up. On the final attempt she tells him "my husband is going down there to pick it up for me and if it's not my card he will be upset so can you please confirm?". All he says is "whatever" hangs up. I work from home and she's already frustrated and upset so I decide to go there and retrieve it so she doesn't have to deal with it after a long day at work. I call up before I drive there from home (12miles) I get him and he plays stupid like he doesn't speak English. He puts a girl on the line. I tell her the situation. She finally confirms the name on the card is in fact my wife's. I drive down there and the asshole freezes when he sees me walk in. By my demeanor I'm sure he could tell who I was. Apparently he's very tough being rude to woman on the phone though, but confronted by a man in person, deer in headlights. Then I tell him "I'm the one that called. Give me the card". He says "uh what's your phone number? Or uh your ID? How do I know it's yours?" almost shaking. No exaggeration. I get irate. I had just confirmed on the phone prior to driving down there that the card was the correct one with the girl he himself put on the phone. He pulls the card from his little drawer and holds it up where I can see it was in fact my wife's and I just snatch it from his hand and gave him a "Fuck you" and I walk out. All he had to do was confirm the name when my wife called there and not be a total dick to her. She wasn't asking for info on the card, just to confirm that the info she was giving him was on the card to ID it. There are many other places you can patronize for your nail needs. Avoid this one. You to may easily forget a personal item there and be dealt with this idiot's bullshit. read more

I was 5 mins late for my 4pm appointment & the nail tech was running late too, by 25 mins! (Linda) was very thorough, gentle, fast, & nice. The place was very busy for a Sunday & not relaxing/calming at all so don't be expecting that here. All the staff was friendly though, but the place could have been a bit cleaner (floors, furniture, nail supplies). There seemed to be a lot of locals who have been regular customers for a while, maybe even years, so apparently they're doing something good. You can't beat the price for the quality you get. If you want $50 nails, you HAVE to pay that much. She did pretty good except for a few nails were filed a bit slanted that I'll have to end up fixing myself because I'm just too dam nice to say anything. Nails always look amazing. The staff isn't the friendliest. There are a couple really sweet ladies though. They are the manicurist though. You have to tip cash- so be aware of that. The gel last a month easy. If your nails grow fast you will want to get them done sooner. I just move to Cali six month ago. I had my nails done at 4 other places on Ventura and nail garden at the mall. All of them do a great job but the polish lifts after a few days.
