Incas is a great little neighborhood restaurant! They have a really good menu. I had the ceviche mixto and my partner had the vegetarian fried rice. We got a free papas a la huacaina because of our Yelp check in, and we also got some Peruvian popcorn, which was very tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed our food, and our server was very friendly. The portions were very big - we both only ate about half of our meals. So now we have delicious leftovers for dinner. read more

Currently still in Key West, but needed to write a review about this place seeing as on my way there there were some recent polarizing reviews. I loved it! Disclaimer: My mother is Peruvian, once owned her own restaurant in NJ (HUGE Peruvian community) and I test out all Peruvian places just because I can and have a great benchmark. I was surprised how little this place is spoken of considering how good the food is and how well priced it is - at some of the restaurants on Duval we spent over $100 on our first dinner alone! Inca's was half that. So def well priced. Now for the food: Ordered choclo apetizer, lomo and ceviche, with chicha morada. The choclo was good- nothing out of the ordinary to comment on- but good. Lomo saltado was quite tasty- I think the 'watery' component referred to in a review below was confused for what I call 'jugo' the juice/gravy that comes from the stir-fry-ish style in which this dish is cooked. I personally love the gravy for my rice. Perhaps it's a personal preference but the gravy was extremely tasty to me. Second was the ceviche- amazing! I was surprised about this one. I make my own, eat it every time I go to a Peruvian place. There was alot of fish- which is not always the case these days. Peruvian food has made it on the main scene, which means portions have been reduced at some restaurants as the dish is quite popular. I also asked for it to be spicy... out of curiosity I asked them how they did, and they spice it with the real ish! Aji (not spelled ahi) panca and rocotto, the types of hot peppers used in peruvian cuisine. Needless to say it was delish! I asked the owner where they got the ingredients from- turns out they actually get the fish and limes from Peru (probably through a distributor). Peruvian tilapia is a whiter thinner fish than regular tilapia, and therfore it cooks quickly in the lime, and the limes from Peru are not as acidic- better tasting not as sour ceviche Oh, and I asked for the homemade chicha morada (bottled is too sweet for me)... I must say, it was better than my moms! Didn't order dessert because I was stuffed, but they had one of my favorites, alfajol, double decker cookie with a dulce de leche paste in the middle (peruvians call dulce de leche "manjar blanco').. Anyhow, please try it of you go... and let us know! In regards to the paella comment mentioned below- my other half is tied to spanish cuisine-, my father is from Spain and I've spent over 20 full summers there. I would never order paella in any non-spanish restaurant. I think the dish you order was arroz con mariscos, which yes is very different from paella, I imagine they use the word paella because it's more commercial term for rice and seafood for those not familiar with Peruvian cuisine. But I agree, no cuban or peruvian restaurant will EVER make a good paella (if we are talking about the traditional spanish paella). So if you see it on the menu, inquire, it's probably just a mis-use of the word. Anyhow, 1st time in key west and was pleasantly surprised with what seems to be a great off the beaten path restaurant which should definitely get more recognition. read more

Good Peruvian food , I have tried a lot of Peruvian places all over and traveled in Ecuador (which has some similar cuisines) and I was pretty happy with the stuff we ordered. Ceviche and paella were both great!! Choclo (toasted corn) was brought to the table at the beginning, a good sign.. We tried the yuccas a la huancaina, the huancaina sauce was pretty good, comparable to what I have tried elsewhere . The sangria was good, but the fruit in it tasted canned rather than fresh, given that a lot of fresh fruit is grown in the nearby Homestead area year round one would think they could use more fresh fruit. The place is not fancy but clean and has a nice enough ambience. Staff are friendly. Maybe this place is not competitive with the options one has in Miami but for Key West it is quite good... read more

Great service, great food, but not alot of parking, which is pretty standard in key West. I know plenty of Peruvians, but never have been to a Peruvian restaurant. I had some fried rice with chicken, and it was excellent. I really was impressed and the city is fortunate to have some diverse cuisine, make it a priority to give this place a try. I am surprised this place received such good reviews. On the plus side, the server was accommodating and friendly. He sent us home with a free order of ceviche. On the negative side, the food was so bland and tasted nothing like the Peruvian cuisine I've enjoyed. The lomo saltado that everyone raves about was cold and appeared like it had been sitting around for a while. My wife had the mixed seafood (overcooked octopus, squid, tilapia, and shrimp) with rice and beans. Unlike most Peruvian dishes I've had, the neither dish represented the rich and flavorful cuisine of Peru. So many better places in Key West to drop $50.00 for supper. read more

The food is amazing! Definitely away from the atmosphere of Duval St but well worth the visit. The sangria was great and with a generous portion all for just $6. I had the Pescado a la Mancho and the sauce on it definitely made the plate. My boyfriend had the Tallarin a la huancaina con carne and it was equally delicious. Great food! As a native Peruvian I always get excited/nervous to try a new Peruvian place. Excited for the possibility that it may be good but nervous it will disappoint me and others I am with. Well, Incas did not disappoint! My husband and ordered the yucca frita as an app. The salsa a la huancaina was delicious with just the right amount of spice! We then ordered the lomo saltado and ceviche de pescado. Both were right on point! So good and so fresh! We finished our meal with lucuma ice cream which was heavenly! It is evident that Incas is using Peruvian ingredients as opposed to local products. As a result, the prices are a bit high but the food and it's authenticity is worth the extra couple of dollars. What a difference in experience 2 yrs after our initial visits. First of all, although there was only one table of two in there when we arrived, the waiter ignored us for at least 10 minutes or so. My wife ordered the sangria: it came quickly, but was sickeningly sweet. It had fruit in it, but we thought it may have been from a can, because it was very soft. Possibly the sweetness came from pouring the canned juice in. I ordered fried rice with pollo. The waiter brought me fried rice mariscos. It was spiced totally differently from the chicken fried rice I had several years earlier. My wife ordered a ceviche, and she actually got what she ordered. He did not bring out the concha (choclo?) until he delivered the entrees, so poor timing on that. With so many good dining options to choose from in Key West, we've dropped this one from our list. And 2 years earlier, although we were only in Key West for 6 days, we enjoyed it so much we went here twice! Very dissapointing. read more

This place was our favorite restaurant in Key West--we ate there two nights in a row, it was so good. The ceviche is the perfect combination of lime and spice--we took the waitress's advice to go with medium spicy instead of super spicy, and it was a good tip because medium spice was still pretty hot! Delicious. I was not expecting to find such an authentic Peruvian restaurant in Key West. The menu is fairly simple but every dish is well done. The portions are large and they don't skimp on the protein. I would have liked to see anticuchos and pisco sours however. We found the Incas restaurants on yelp. It already has a good rating and was close by to our location. So we decided to attend. It is small and very nicely decorated very neat and clean. Our family loves this restaurant we went here at least three times while visiting in Key West for the week because their food was so good.
