Inchin's used to be our go to spot for Indo Chinese with Nanking in Artesia as the backup. Unfortunately the last couple of visits have been disappointing enough to change that. The food just isn't the same anymore. The flavors are no longer there and the dishes were noticeably heavy on oil. I rarely call out oil because most restaurants lean on oil to boost flavor but this was excessive even by that standard. Also whatsup with vinegar? They put so much vinegar that you could hardly taste anything else. Pricing has also started to feel off.. for e.g. paneer tacos are quite small (3 very small pieces) for $14 price point which makes the value hard to justify. At this point it feels like the restaurant needs stronger direction in the kitchen both in terms of flavor consistency and portion to price balance. For now, we'll be taking our Indo Chinese cravings to Nanking instead. Unless something meaningfully changes or we hear otherwise this won't be a repeat spot for us. read more

Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in recent memory. We called ahead and ordered the hot garlic chicken, roti canai, and Hakka noodles. When we got home, we realized the roti canai was completely missing from the order (to be fair, we weren't charged for it -- so maybe it was never heard or just forgotten entirely). We called again and were told it would be ready in 15 minutes. We showed up 20 minutes later, only to wait another 20 minutes -- a full 40 minutes after calling it in. The staff were kind and apologetic, which I appreciated, but the experience was still frustrating. By this point, I was starving, and even with lowered expectations, the food still managed to disappoint. The roti canai was borderline inedible -- a single chunk of chicken on the bone with two tiny additional fragments, in a flavorless, yellow sauce. The roti itself wasn't the flaky, soft kind you'd expect with this dish -- it looked and tasted like a frozen grocery store version. The hot garlic chicken was at least visually appealing, but again, shockingly bland. I genuinely didn't know Indo-Chinese food could taste this flavorless. It felt like a college attempt at cooking without access to any real spices or ingredients. On the bright side, the interior ambiance was modern and inviting, and the staff was friendly. When the bill came, I immediately noticed two extra dishes added that we never ordered or received. When I pointed it out, they quickly said "oh sorry" and brought the check back, claiming it was "someone else's receipt." That excuse was ridiculous -- there was no one else in the restaurant. It was clearly an attempt to overcharge us, plain and simple. And then, as if that weren't enough, the waiter had the audacity to ask for a cash tip after being caught overbilling us. Second time we waited at least 10-15mins to be seated without a glance or any acknowledgement. Once seated they forgot to give us a menu. Placing our order also took a while and the food took ever longer to come out. The restaurant was not busy and there were many open tables. I think the service was just slow. The food itself is subpar. The paneer tacos and Chinese bhel were very oily. There are better restaurants that are more flavorful and not as expensive. I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

We then tried the paneer tandoori momos, but they tasted more like paneer pakoras rather than traditional momos. Since momos are a staple in Indo-Chinese cuisine, I think the restaurant should work on improving the recipe and preparation. The restaurant was also very quiet for a Friday night, which made us unsure about ordering more food, so we canceled the rest of our order. Absolutely horrible customer service! Ordered takeout online last night and showed up about 10 minutes after the scheduled pickup time. When we arrived we were told 2 dishes weren't available, the Paratha and Rasmalai. He offered either a refund or replacement with Naan and Gulab Jamun. We agreed to the replacement and within a couple minutes he returned to tell us the Gulab Jamun is also not available. Why offer it if you don't even have it?! So now he tells us 5 more minutes for the Naan to come out. We wait and 5 minutes later he comes to the front and says 2 more minutes. We wait another 5 minutes and still nothing! After being frustrated I asked for a refund for him to tell me we'll do it Monday. I didn't trust him at all so I said give me a refund now, do not want to deal with the jokers ever again! Spice level was perfect and reminded me of Chili Chicken I had at an Indo-Chinese restaurant in India. Only downside is that there were a lot of onions in the plate to fill up space. I can't believe this place has 3 star ratings! We came in on a Monday and hardly anyone was here. It has a nice outdoor eating area with space heaters so I'll definitely check that out in the summer time. It is in a beautiful plaza, we actually went to the Hallmark store and saw this near by and stopped in. We ordered the chicken momos and I wish I had taken a picture. They were beautiful presented on a stone platter with delightful toppings. Very flavorful! We ordered the Kung pao chicken and the vegetable curry. Both came with large portions of rice. I asked for the Kung pao chicken to be made with white meat and it was so good! Very delicious. The chili oil was amazing. The vegetable curry was not quite as flavorful, still yummy but it's not the best curry I have ever had. I do love how at the tables they have tons of sauces for you to try. We have recently tried three meals from here, sept 2024. The chicken 65 (7/10), the chili garlic noodle (5/10) and the street side chow mein (2/10). The chicken 65 is definitely something you can get from here as the veggies are fried sizzler style. BUT the noodle selection is not very appealing. The chili garlic noodle did have a taste at first bite but it gets better as you put on the green sauce provided on their table. But the street side is something I would NOT recommend because that had no taste at all. The service was great; we were checked in on and served our food on time (but the restaurant wasn't busy at all). What a delicious meal! Everything we ordered had a very unique flavor profile. Sometimes, restaurants fall into the trap of using similar sauces and ingredients across their menu, making it a cohesive but predictable experience. Inchin's was wonderful because each dish tasted very different. We particularly enjoyed the Cauliflower Manchurian (with gravy). Somehow, although the cauliflower was covered in sauce, it maintained its crunchy texture - not once did it get soggy. The chicken lettuce wraps were a great starter, and the chili bean eggplant was also a stand-out entree item. The fried rice differed greatly from East Asian fried rice dishes that have more of a savory, sesame oil/soy sauce flavor. I encountered a lot of spices and herbs that are not normally used in cooking I come across, so overall, this was an exciting experience. I would recommend sharing everything family-style, because the flavors are rich and the portions are big. The only downside is that our waitress had kind of a weird attitude. She only came by the table to take our order, and put the food down. When we asked if we could get the cauliflower dry with gravy on the side, she said they weren't able to fulfill this request, but didn't give any other explanation. For context, when you order the dish, they give you the option of getting it "dry" or "with gravy." Although the gravy IS very good, I think the perfect balance would have been: dry breaded cauliflower with a little gravy drizzled on top. I guess her standoffish attitude combined with what felt like a "no" just to say no, made the dinner feel less welcoming. Other than that, though, everything was pretty close to perfect! read more
