I went here with a group of 10 last night and had the best time. I loved the atmosphere and appreciated the server's care regarding my allergy. I ordered the Roasted Half Chicken and it was the best chicken I've ever had (!) - it fell off the bone. Paired with delicious orzo, roasted yellow tomato, and Brussel sprouts, the meal was fantastic. The dish usually comes with broccoli rabe but I'm so glad I subbed the roasted sprouts because they were perfect with the dish. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

We came here a year ago for cocktails before dinner elsewhere, and we absolutely loved the atmosphere and drinks. We were so excited to come back this year and try their food. Unfortunately, the meal left something to be desired and we were incredibly underwhelmed by our dishes. The burrata starter was... ok. The sweet potato was an odd addition, but it was decent enough. We had the sausage Ragu and margherita pizza. Both were... ok. The ragu actually had an unpleasant over-salted flavor, making it hard to finish. Everything else was fine, but for a city filled with outstanding dining, this just felt like an average Italian restaurant with a cool atmosphere. The drinks are top notch, and the service is great. So let me start off by saying this is only a review for the brunch but I hear the dinner here is amazing too. The ricotta toast with compote was such an amazing twist on a sweet pancake or roll dessert. I'm happy with the fact it wasn't too sweet and still had a hearty feel to it because of the amazing large piece of toast it sat on. By the way - brought it home and it was just as good cold from the fridge at midnight as it was the first time I ate it (just not as hot and hard!). The eggs and bacon I got for protein were cooked as I asked and perfect. They cook their bacon crispy so if you are particular don't forget to order the way you like! read more

We were thrilled to be able to make last minute reservations upon our arrival in Charleston after 13 hours in the car. We enjoyed sitting at the chef's table in the back of the restaurant watching the bustling kitchen. The Prosciutto Di Parma was excellent and our favorite antipasti on the menu. The Italian salad was good but could have used more seasoning and it was on the smaller side as was the tagliatelle. My husband had one of the pizzas but said he wished it had more sauce. I have visited Charleston for many years and visited Indaco a few years back. I loved it so much then and was excited to eat there again. The ambiance was great, the service was attentive and kind...knowledgeable about the food, but the food didn't fully measure up to last time. Don't get me wrong, it was yummy, it just didn't blow us away. I got a pasta with red sauce and, my friend, a pasta with a lighter sauce. Both of us added salt to our dishes and once we did, we agreed they were much better but we still loved hers the best. I would definitely still go back...again, super great atmosphere and a fun vibe, we left feeling like we had a great night and with full bellies, which is always a win! read more

We ate here this past Friday evening. I believe it was their third night back open since the coronavirus shutdown. We didn't have a reservation & weren't sure we'd get a table. However, we had drink across the street & checked back and were luckily one of their last tables seated that night. Our server was great - attentive without being too hovering. I had the black spaghetti (shrimp with lemon & breadcrumbs over pasta) and my husband and daughter had the mezzaluna (sausage dish). Both were excellent! We also enjoyed a bottle of wine and the relaxing atmosphere of this restaurant. We'd definitely go here again next time we visit Charleston! Indaco is a wonderful choice for a casual dinner downtown, anytime, and a great choice for Restaurant Week (RW) starting with complimentary valet parking. There were a few hiccups; however, so let me get them out of the way. The RW menu, as posted, cites 3 courses for $35.00 per person, with about 6 selections among each of four categories ... Antipasti, Piatti (entree), Pasta and Pizza. Our friendly server, Ariana, explained that the options were an antipasti or pizza, an entree or pasta and a dessert ... and that the catch of the day, Wreckfish, was not a whole fish, per the menu, but rather a 4 ounce pan seared filet. We were also given an option to substitute a glass of Sangiovese or Limoncello in lieu of dessert. The Shishito peppers were a treat and a new dish for me ... blistered, charred and lovingly doused with just the right amount of velvety pepperoncini aioli and a light sprinkle of benne seeds. The portion size was not cut for RW and I ate the whole bowl, give or take 1 or 2. I would have enjoyed a bit more heat and for that reason would not order this app, again. The Lamb and Olive Pizza was nothing short of dreamy. Cooked crisp, the way we love it, it was loaded with braised lamb, Cerignola olives, gooey mozzarella, Calabria chilis and other goodies. Clearly, a winner. Joe's Cavatelli with lamb sugo was a decent portion of pasta with just the right amount of the savory sauce. I would have liked it a little warmer but for my husband, who likes his food almost at room temperature, it was perfect. Though I was anticipating devouring a whole fish, I was thrilled with my entree. The fish was perfectly cooked (still moist) and served over a large portion (and quite refreshing) blend of chilled fregola (pasta similar to couscous), squash, charred okra, a yellow cherry tomatoes and marcona almonds. We were both happy and quite full. That being said, I took a fresh, warm, blueberry Crostata (tart) home. Ariana was attentive and timed the courses well. This was Joe's first time at Indaco and when he said that he'd go back, I knew the evening was a success! read more

Indaco is easily my favorite comfort place on King. The service is always kind and accommodating. I enjoy the close, intimate seating of the restaurant. Open kitchen is a fun concept to watch. But most importantly?! The food is my favorite. I went for a solo birthday dinner to have all my favorites. The Polpette, the Italian salad, focaccia and TWO pasta dishes, my favorite being the cauliflower ragú, a reoccurring dish that even a meat eater like myself can fall in love with. Just tried Indaco tonight for an early birthday dinner and all I can is WOW! I highly recommend getting reservations because we noticed how fast they ran out of times. We each got the $35 3 course meal. (Not sure when it ends) I started out with the fried artichokes which had an amazing walnut vinaigrette on it. For my second course I got the black pepper tagliatelle which is their most well known pasta. I've had a pasta craving and it hit the spot right on. It's a light flavor yet rich and extremely delicious. For dessert I got the peach dish! My boyfriend got the sausage pizza to start, the agnolotti as his second course, and the espresso gelato dessert! All of which he loved as well. We can't wait to come back to Indaco and try more dishes. It was a great experience and our waitress Danielle was fantastic. They even put a candle in my dessert which was really sweet!! read more

My friends and I went to Charleston and a local recommended this restaurant. We were going to go to Husk because it's more famous and I'm glad we chose Indaco. The food and service were amazing! My tagliatelle pasta was amazing. The pasta comes with an egg yolk but you can ask for the egg cooked. I also tried the seafood squid ink pasta my friend ordered and it was amazing. The only thing I disliked is that they charge you for the bread which is not normal. So keep an eye out for that.. read more

Every other assisting staff member that helped our waitress ( maybe Kate ? ) was also so rude as if they didn't want to have the job they have. Wouldn't recommend. Came here for dinner with a group of girls. We had a reservation and they seated us immediately. It was a dimly lit, nice interior space. The service was fast and they were super friendly. I ordered the black pepper tagliatelle and was not disappointed. It was everything I had been craving and more! It was a decent size portion of pasta. There were so many flavors from the black pepper and the bacon. It was just delicious! We also got the burrata appetizer and I only wish we got more of it. It was fantastic. I loved the beans and the sauce it came with. We also got the focaccia bread appetizer, which was pretty standard bread, but the pesto sauce it came with tasted great. I don't think I'd order the bread again but the burrata was awesome. I also got the namastay cocktail and it was delicious. It was like a better tasting Moscow mule. Food quality at Indaco was on point. Very impressed with the Peach Pizza. Highly recommend as the peach is not overbearing and compliments the other toppings well. All the pasta selections looked great and my cavatelli was tasty. This could have been a 5 star review, but service was not in line with the food quality. We sat at the bar. Was not impressed with the bartender's pours or her attitude. Picture the scene from South Park where Edgar Allen Poe comes back and calls everyone conformist. She def was having an off night or just doesn't enjoy her job. All in all I would give this place another shot, but would make reservations to sit at a table. read more
