InDemand Movers was fantastic! At first, to be honest, I was hesitant to use a mover that didn't have hundreds of five star reviews like the Professionals or New City Moving. I was really close to spending the extra dollars for the peace of mind of using a more renowned company. However, I'm glad I took the chance I did! Turns out they just started their company, so the fewer reviews reflect a new entrepreneur, rather than low demand. The crew arrived promptly, and the co-owner John was cordial and professional throughout the entire moving process! Moving is one of the top most stressful things in life to endure, and InDemand made it simple, painless, and easy! They called before they arrived, wrapped my expensive TV carefully with cloth, carried a bunch of boxes like SuperMen in what would've taken me several trips and several hours up and down the stairs. It took less than 2 hours for my apt move! Amazing! And they moved more stuff than I even expected. AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COSTS ! ! ! We moved from Saint Cloud MN to Kalamazoo MI, we called Colonial Van Lines Relocation Division who hired these jokers.. When they called to say that they were within 1 hour of arrival and had to stop for fuel real quick, they didn't show up until 2 and a half hours later with a large rental truck, Only 2 people showed up, even one guy said that they needed another person, No uniforms like the pictures show, they packed things we showed them NOT to pack, INCLUDING OUR BAG WE WERE USING FOR TRASH.... YES THEY PACKED AND SHIPPED A GARBAGE BAG. Our outdoor dining chairs (that were still wrapped frim europe) were scraped up and the wrapping was punctured like they put a fist sized hole in it. tossed items into boxes, placed glass items on the bottom of boxes unwrapped for protection. Dumped drawers of items into boxes LITERALLY DUMPED THEM INTO BOXES. They half wrapped our couches, didn't wrap our dining room table causing it to receive a lot of scratches and scrapes. One of our end tables had all four legs completely broken off when the mover showed me the table he said that someone must've thrown it into the truck.. one of the legs for our couch was missing, when I brought that up with one of the movers, he called the warehouse manager and the warehouse manager tells him that it's still in the warehouse and he's looking at it..(when it was mailed to me the parts where the screws went into to hold to the couch were broken, the screws were still in the couch). My wife's photography stand that was brand new and never used before we moved, was broken...1 mm thick aluminum pipe broken off ! They lost the screws to one of our beds, pegs for our bookshelves are missing, Luckily my wife and daughter werent home when our stuff was delivered because of the foul language the movers used, I heard a lot of "Aww $hit" and "Oh F#ck". Colonial van lines only offered $200 refund from them and $200 from InDemand Movers granted I signed a release of liability statement which is laughable. It's been almost 2 months and we are still going through items that are broken and damaged. Note: all the items that were moved made it FROM EUROPE UNSCATHED, but couldn't be moved without damage from this piss poor company. read more

We have recently moved from Fargo, ND to Chicago. Budget Van Lines contracted InDemand for our move and we couldn't have asked for better service or nicer guys to move our stuff. I am sure that it's possible if we had used a larger vendor such as: United, Allied, Atlas, etc. We may have had a similar experience. However, this one was great. So next time I'll skip the middle man and contact InDemand. The guys drove all the way up here from Chicago. Wrapped our furniture very well. Loaded the truck and were on their way to our new home. Our stuff arrived the next with no damage. I would recommend InDemand and recommendi asking for Jose and Ben - great guys! Costs: I have seen some other low rating reviews posted and I'm not sure if they went through Budget or directly through InDemand. It seems they didn't have a clear understanding of the process. I don't know that it's complicated, but I could see payment being confusing - also if communication wasn't clear. For us both Budget and InDemand were clear about the costs. You sign a Non-Binding contract - meaning the price can/will change. Cost is weight based. So if you underestimate how much stuff you have, what you think you will pay will be different. Once it's weighed the price can definitely go up. Be smart and overestimate. You are charged per pound. I added to my inventory estimate a week before the move and as expected the price went up. More stuff = More Money. We were given a ticket from a certified weight station for the weight of the truck empty and another one at delivery showing the total weight of the truck full. The overestimate worked for us. By overestimating, the final total was close to we expected. We actually owed them $30 less. Win! Going through Budget our costs were broken down into 3 installments. 1st to reserve the date (Credit Card), 2nd for pick up (Credit Card + 3% to use CC, Cash, Money Order) and 3rd for delivery (Cash or Money Order) It was made clear to us that at delivery we could only pay cash or money order. Both Budget and InDemand knew the total cost of the move, and they both have an inventory list. If they trust their guys with the cash/m.o. payment that works for me. I'd recommend them to anyone looking to move. read more

I'll never use this service again. I've worked service industry my entire life, and am quick to show respect and appreciation for a good work ethic. I have worked hard for the items we have and I felt very violated and horrible after this transaction. The entire time, my friend and I were fielding inappropriate comments and were constantly asking the movers to please do their job. Moved within the city, 12 pieces of furniture, 40 - 50 boxes. Scheduled for Saturday morning, 2 movers with a truck. Quoted 3 - 4 hours. Movers arrive and look at our furniture and say that they were only expecting to move 12 pieces of furniture. Also it started to rain so they said they would need to cover everything, which would take more like 7 - 8 hours with 2 guys. They suggested they come back Sunday at 8 am with 3 guys. We agree. I have already taken time off work for this move and I now have to take more time off, but they blamed the office for the misquote. He calls me back an hour later saying they will actually be there at 2 pm instead of 8 am. This is the second reschedule. Guys arrive at 1:30 pm and I sign the contract. The 3rd guy leaves after 15 minutes because he was not feeling well. So we are back to 2 guys. The main guy constantly hits on and harasses my friend, but you know, it is what it is (He tried to get her number at the end of this, which she turned him down). I personally wish he could have kept it more professional. We have a beige couch which I provided wrap for, and showed them that we wanted it wrapped. They did not wrap it. The couch got dirty, I can probably buy some cleaner for that. I wrapped the cushions myself. We have one piece of really heavy furniture, an ikea armoire. I get it, it's heavy, but then the head mover said to me, "it's not even a nice piece of furniture." Ok, but it's my furniture that we are paying you to move. We get to the new place. The head mover got his brother to meet him there, so we are now back up to 3 movers. We had marked all the boxes with what room they belonged in, and they made no effort to help with any of that, we ended up with entire chaos and few broken dishes that had books dropped on them. And then the cherry on top: the mover left our contract at the old place. He sent his brother with our key to go get the contract. He then blamed me for him leaving the contract, saying that "I rushed him out of there." He took a few cigarette breaks, which I'm sure he could have used to reassess whether he had the contract or not. Disclaimer: I've never used a moving service before. read more

I'll never use InDemand movers again! I went through budget moving and they contracted InDemand to move me from Kansas City to Chicago. First off the movers themselves were friendly, curteous and professional but unfortunately they were so slow and had a truck that barely fit my stuff which was all boxed and ready to go. I've moved alot and always prepared so typically it takes the movers 2 hours to pack. These guys took 8 hours on the Kansas City end. When I got to Chircago I guess since they are really local they had a bigger crew to move me in in about 2 hours. Big change and while everything came they damaged my dining chairs that are antique from the late 1800's. They had put one chair inside the other with no padding in between and my 6 chairs were scratched rubbed raw and gouged wood. I put in a claim and finally got a letter saying they came up with a settlement which was $66!!! Seriously to take the 6 chairs alone just to sand and refinish in those areas would cost a lot more! I think the company office must be totally unorganized and even the movers themselves could use training on how to pack and wrap properly. Oh yeah the blankets they used on the furniture were the dirtiest I've ever seen. I blame the company not the loaders. Not only is the $66 an insult they need a signed notarized document from me accepting the compensation. Notarization will cost about $10 so basically I get $55!!! Terrible company from my experience! Our move was within Chicago and went very smoothly. The sales staff answered all our questions and many follow up questions quickly. The movers were careful with our items and fast. They were also friendly and positive which helps during such a stressful time. The price was fair and competitive with the industry, so it was really the customer service that made us choose this mover. InDemand Movers? More like Moving Angels! Best moving company, PERIOD! My husband and I did a move from Washington, DC to Chicago, IL and InDemand movers made our move smooth from beginning to end. The staff was very nice, professional, handled our things with due care, and reasonable in price. They arrived about an hour late which was no big deal, we're not all walking GPS's and know exactly where we are all the time. Rudy and Jose wrapped our belongings nicely which we really appreciated. I recently moved to Houston from Milwaukee and used Indemand movers for the first time. I had a great experience. They were assigned my delivery through "Allstate van lines" aka "relo van lines" who are awful on the other hand. Beware of brokers who claim to be moving companies. Book directly with indemand if you can. These guys were great! It was the same faces picking up and dropping off, which was really comforting to see. (I don't think this happens often with long distance, but I'm not sure). Anyways, they loaded and unloaded everything surprisingly quick. They kept in contact with me while in possession of my things, and made sure I was updated on delivery. These guys are very hard workers and gave me realistic expectations throughout. I know I know... its been a full month since moving! But I've been busy, however I wanted to give a review to this moving company because they did such an amazing job! Moving is so hectic. For starters this moving company accommodated us in changing our time and trying to work out the best time for us during one of the busiest weekends (labor day). We were set for 11 am on that Sunday but wanted to get moved sooner, so the tenants after us could move in. They allowed us to move our move time to 8 AM. They showed up at 8:15 AM and started moving immediately. We moved boxes into our apartment and storage unit. The move was done in an hour!!!! I was pleased with this. Great experience moving from Chicago to New York. We are very grateful to InDemand movers for making our long move a success. They were exactly on time picking up our stuff in Chicago. They did send fewer people than expected 3 but it was easy for them to complete the move on time during our freight elevator schedule. We paid an extra for express delivery but they were precisely on time less than 48 hours later in NY. John hand Alan worked really hard, they were very pleasant and handled our stuff with care (only one chair was broken but they could fix it themselves) and they listed to our instructions. When Lee and his company showed up to my door, a lot of things had already gone wrong with our move. We were desperate. We were actually waiting for a different moving company but apparently they had dropped our contract the night before and Lee had picked it up. He was our temporary savior. But as things progressed, I lost more and more trust in Lee. We were hit with a pretty big and unexpected charge. The company had to revise our estimate before they'd move our stuff. We were in a tight spot because we had already paid our apartment complex a few in order to move out. We acquiesced to the fee. What choice did we have? So we sat around and watched Lee and his partner pack our stuff up. They seemed great. We gave them a gigantic tip (each). Lee said that he'd have our stuff at the new location on a certain day. Then the problems began. First, we were slammed with a big insurance fee by a company that Lee uses. The insurance was a result of our new building which required a separate policy to move into our new apartment on moving day. Lee, of course, passed this large fee onto us. He had told us that it would be one number -- turned out it was actually a lot more. The day that our move-in began, Lee told us he'd arrive at a certain time. We waited...and waited...and waited... In fact, we waited from 8am until 4 or 5 pm in the evening. Lee and his company violated the terms of our apartment by moving in so late to our new place. Luckily, there were no repercussions for the peccadillo. But as stuff was moved into our apartment, it became apparent that most of our furniture suffered damage. Everything that we packaged ourselves was doing okay. Everything that Lee and his team packed had some pretty severe damage. In fact, one of our shelves had its back punched through. If I were to estimate our damages, I'd say that (as people who despise damaged furniture), it approaches $1000. We are still finding damaged furniture to this day. I should mention that Lee also charged us the fee for insurance as soon as he stepped from the truck (IN CASH!) before he'd deliver our furniture. It went down like this: Lee arrives at 4 or 5 pm in the afternoon, demands a hundred dollars in cash before he'll unload, then proceeds to unload our stuff and seriously damage our things. On the day that we moved out, I was seriously considering giving Lee a glowing review (5 stars). By the time he had assessed the insurance fee, I had revised my review to 4 stars. When Lee had us waiting around all day for him to arrive on move-in day, I decided I would not write a review because I didn't want to damage the reputation of a small company like this one. Even after all of the damage to EVERY bookshelf, I was decidedly against bad-mouthing this company. THEN, Lee and his colleague brought up a Pottery Barn Lamp that my wife and I had very carefully saved money to purchase. This was an item that we had left unpacked on move-out day so that Lee's company could take special care of it. I'm sure that we paid them money to pack it. Turns out, the money was a waste. The lamp was bent in a different shape. There goes several hundred more dollars. We had a special Pottery Barn frame that we had wrapped in bubble wrap, a blanket, and put into a special box: heavily damaged. How? I don't even know what Lee's company could have been doing to damage this box?! My wife and I are completely astounded. Our electric piano, which Lee packed, has damage. Our dresser, which Lee packed, has a terrible dent. The only things that didn't get damaged were our boxes. But let me warn you -- some of our boxes had HOLES through them. HOLES! How did the boxes get holes? Compensation? None from Lee. Instead, we received fees upon fees and nothing but damaged goods. I WOULD NOT USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN! I was it's biggest evangelist for several weeks but I absolutely regret moving with In Demand. The worst part was when Lee brought up the bookshelf with the big hole. He said, "this one has a little damage." My thought: "THEY ALL HAVE DAMAGE!" Of course, Lee shrugged at this little mishap. All I saw were the hundreds of dollars that my wife and I have lost to the negligence of our movers. We are grad students and none of this stuff will be replaced. Don't even get me started on the wood floors... The problem is that Lee brings one guy with him to help move. They single-handedly try to put our shelves on a dolly and wheel them around. I actually witnessed some of the damage occurring as one person tried to flip a 50 pound bookcase on its side without any help. One more thing that might discourage you from InDemand: Lee's company was so late that they rushed our stuff into the apartment without regard for its well-being. The worst part was when I was asked by InDemand to help move some of the stuff. Didn't I pay these guys thousands of dollars and hundreds in fees just so I wouldn't have to do this kind of work? Horrible experience. Our price and deposit increase days before our move. Staff was abusive to us when we tried to cancel our move. We were out $700. Additionally they require cash only payment which is completely ridiculous and stated that the driver would determine the final amount owed on the day of our move. We were very satisfied. They went to Pierre, South Dakota and did an exceptional job of packing my fiancée's stuff including china cabinets and a large grandfather clock. They were super cordial and professional. They were in Naperville, IL within 48 hours and did an exceptional job of bringing items in and placing them. I recently used InDemand movers in a long-distance move. The service was very accommodating as well as reliable. In planning the move, individuals with whom I spoke were patient and willing to take time to find me the most desirable dates for pick-up and delivery. Just as well, the price was one of the best around. As planned, everything showed up the day for which we had planned, and everything was set up quickly, with each piece placed where I wanted. My furniture was carefully wrapped, and there wasn't a scratch upon anything upon delivery. This is the first review I do in my life thus far. I used InDemand movers about 2 months ago, so it's been a while. I've tried to just forget about the way they've wronged me, but as I continue to wake up with pain in my back and anger because of the pain, I figured maybe I'll feel better if I write a review. In Demand movers moved the contents of my one bedroom apartment from Chicago to Louisville. My $500 bed mattress arrived to me folded down the midline, and wrapped tightly in that position. The mattress springs have been damaged, and I continue to wake up with back pain. They also returned one of my dressers to me with a broken base, but that kind of thing happens. What was done to my mattress, however, was deliberate and negligent. If you're like me and you don't choose to pay an additional $300 for insurance, you end up feeling really angry. Bottom line: you get what you pay for. They're cheaper than a lot of other companies, but you're also purchasing a substandard service. read more

HOLY MACKEREL THESE GUYS ARE AMAZING. I hired In Demand for my move from Chicago to Westmont, IL. I had quite a bit of furniture and A LOT of boxes. While looking for movers through Thumbtack, Lee sent me a reasonable quote so I decided to hire In Demand. Lee was incredibly communicative from day one, and graciously answered all of my questions as this was my first experience hiring movers. On the big day, Howard, Javi and Angel arrived with a GIANT truck and saved my life. They were so kind from the moment they arrived. Furniture pads and tape were brought to protect my dressers and my television, which was AMAZING. But the real kicker was how FAST they were! In Demand Movers certainly fit the bill for what we were looking for during our complex relocation. We needed a company that could offer us flexibility even during the busy summer moving season, organization, constant communication and the ability to accommodate our rare circumstances. I am very detail oriented and like all of my ducks in a row, questions answered accurately, prompt communication from the company reps I'm working with etc. Our relocation from Chicago to Atlanta in September 2014 was a tough one because we didn't have firm dates while my husband's new company finalized all of the details. We have 2 young children and needed a company who could work with our crazy logistics. Our move was EXTREMELY stressful and filled with obstacles. In Demand Movers, specifically Lee, was always willing to work with us every step of the way, extend our storage needs as they arose and made good on his promise of delivering our items at the stated destination within the timeframe they guaranteed (even though we were the ones who changed dates and addresses as we secured housing) I will say that In Demand is a no frills operation. They are a small company. We interviewed several large moving companies like Mayflower, Stevenson, Allied etc. We spent hours speaking to the sales reps that would show up with company uniforms, business cards and laminated presentation folders. Although many of the reps seemed knowledgeable, none could promise us any more than In Demand could (with the exception of climate-controlled storage which In Demand did not have at the time). In addition, because many of these companies were large and well-known, even getting our move booked with shorter notice than one month was extremely difficult. When Lee from In Demand came over, he was straight forward, simple and cut to the chase in what he could offer us price-wise. His quote for our move was SUBSTANTIALLY less than his competitors and he explained that he was able to cut out much of the padded and middle man costs of other companies. Although In Demand is a much younger company and more of a start-up than ie. Mayflower - Lee explained that he had worked for several years with some of these larger companies and knew the business inside out, hence his ability to give his customers what they really need for less. We did a lot of the packing, wrapping, boxing as well, which helped with our cost Lee patiently answered my multitude of written questions, presented me with the documentation, paperwork and signed statements I wanted and accommodated my request to check out their storage facility where our items would be kept for the duration of our relocation. He worked with us on pricing within our budget, provided all receipts, kept in constant communication with us and Lee and his crew did a very efficient, neat and careful job of ensuring all fragile items were handled with care, loaded and unloaded well. Most importantly, all the crew members we met were courteous, friendly, honest and honored our agreements and requests. My request to have the same faces pick up and drop off were also granted. That was both awesome and comforting after a very hectic couple of months and being away from all you own! In Demand is a great option for solid, simple and efficient service during your move. In preparation for my family's move, I looked for companies based on credible reputations, insured, good reviews and total estimated costs. Based on that I selected InDemand Movers. To schedule the move, I spoke with the Manager/Rep to communicate exactly what needed to be moved and to get an estimated duration and quote. Because we only needed help moving the big items - total of 9 items - I was given an estimate of 4 hours with 2 men. I then agreed to pay for 3 men to ensure that this move could happen as efficiently as possible. Our movers arrived at 9am. By 6pm that evening the movers where still at the first home and still had not yet finished loading the truck. After complaining and talking to the Manager several times to understand what the issue was, we were told that the men were just being extra careful with our belongings. SERIOUSLY!! It had been 9 hours at that point and they hadn't even made it to the house (10 min away) to begin unloading!!! By 11pm the movers were finally leaving and had only put up one bed. I will never use this company again or recommend them to anyone. Terrible, awful service! read more

I wish I could give them negative stars. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, they steal & ruin your stuff just for fun and have no remorse for it what so ever. They arrived late and brought our stuff in 2 shipments could never give an arrival just "well maybe Monday and if not then Tuesday with no arrival time just 8-5??? Really!!! Damaged funiture deliberately, drug our mattresses across the nasty dirty floor of their trucks that they moved our stuff to X's 3 and ruined them right throught the plastic wrap and opened our boxes we packed ourselves and went through them & stole stuff and punched holes in them. Movers BEWARE spend the extra money and do research & read reviews before chossing one. We moved to IL from MI and used Stevens and our stuff made it just fine NO damages what so ever and when we finally get to move back home this is what we get.
