I was referred to Edo by a friend, and I was pleasantly surprised from start to finish. He gave me a complete breakdown of everything that needed to be done and constantly sent me pictures of the parts that were taken off. He also kept me updated and in constant communication throughout the entire day. He even gave me a loaner car since the work being done would take the whole day. That was a huge surprise for me because I've never had an independent shop offer me a car like that only dealerships! To top it all off, they even detailed my car and fixed the dented area on the side at no additional cost. I've honestly never felt more cared for or supported by a mechanic or auto shop. I had a nail in my tire on my way to a doctors appointment. I pulled in, asking if they could fill my tire up just to get me there safely. I was warmly greeted, offered a tire patch (which I didn't have time for), and then had my tire filled with air with no charge. I was even offered a bottle of cold water and genuinely treated like a longtime valued customer. I can't speak to the quality of work, but I was treated really well here. Please read All of comment to make sure this does not happen to you. I purchased a used Hyundai tiburon with 86,000 miles from this dealership last year in July for $6,900. I have never been taken advantage of in my life and didn't realize it was happening. I had purchased the car paid in cash, the first day I drove the car the clutch broke and had to pay out of pocket to get it towed off the freeway and pay $1,200 for the clutch which they took to there Mechanic (independent auto repair) not knowing they were partners with the dealerships owner. About two months later they said they needed to take the car which was paid in full to get last minute inspections done at CHP they did not return the car that evening and when I tried to get the car back they said I could not have it because Inspections were not done. They loaned me a car which I thought was generous of them but did not realize the tags and plates were illegal. I was pulled over at gun point by police officers because they thought the car was stolen. When I tried to get my car back they would still not give it to me, also told me that the clutch was not working again, without my knowledge they sent it back to their mechanic and replaced the clutch and told me to go pick the car up when I did the mechanic said I owed them $900 which they only take cash which I realized it's because they don't want people to be able to dispute credit card charges. I paid the $900 and about 5 minutes after driving out of the mechanics shop the car would not accelerate. So I pushed it back to the mechanic and he said "it worked fine and test drove it so I don't know why it isn't working" so when he said it was fixed again it broke down 0ne week later so I took it to my mechanic. My mechanic said and have written proof that independence auto shop did not replace or correct the proper pieces needed to make sure the clutch worked properly and that it does look like it was done intentionally so it would be sent back to them for more repairs and more cost. In the past year I have had possession of my car for 5 months out of 12. because of what This dealership and mechanic have put me through costing me a total of a estimated low ball park of $14,000 I am lucky to have not got injured yesterday 7/19/21 I was driving the vehicle when all of a sudden the acceleration was staring to go out and then resume and the engine heated up very rapidly as I tried to pull of the free way I lost all power and could not see due to the smoke. The engine had seized up and now the engine is completely destroyed. I have proof of anything the dealership or mechanics will try to argue or dispute and am only writing this post because I tried to stay positive and everything will workout for the best. But I don't want anyone to have to go through what they put me through. It shows that if you are honest and nice and patient that this dealership will take advantage of that to the fullest. One of the unfortunate parts about moving to the valley was finding a new mechanic. The three things you probably shouldn't replace if you find a good one is your hair dresser, your lawyer and your mechanic. Well, I couldn't make the 1hr commute to my mechanic anymore. I did it for awhile but it was too problematic. So wifey did some research and found these guys. After several trips with my jeep and the wife's VW, I gotta say, I've found my new favorite. Edmond and Arman are a couple of class acts that really know their stuff. Ladies - you know how you go to the mechanic and they ignore you and talk to the man? I know this is a thing because it pisses off the wife and I feel awkward because I probably know less than she does. These guys don't do that. They treat you like family - almost to an embarrassing degree. I've never been there without being offered coffee, tea or water. On occasion, they've offered up part of their lunch as well as cookies from their home country that I'm sure weren't cheap to buy/import. They're both incredibly giving and very gracious. Even to the point of helping back you out of their driveway when you leave. Just class acts. When it comes to their work, I can't complain. They come cheaper than my previous mechanics and have correctly diagnoses past issues that my last mechanic either messed up or missed completely. But when they point it out, they do it with class as to not throw anyone under the bus. (The sort of people you wished you worked with instead of that Peggy gal by the fax machine - she always throws people under the bus!) My wife's last trip was to fix a seal. They had to drop the gas tank and, they didn't need to, but they changed a few other seals as a preventative measure. They're stance is, if you're spending the $400-$900 to drop a transmission, lift out the engine, or the fuel tank, why not replace the *other* $20 seal while you have access to it?! They think ahead to save their customers money down the line. I appreciate that. They also noticed some foam coming out of the AC unit so they vacuumed it out, had a friend detail the car as well as a few other things. I was blown away. The price was more than reasonable and my wife and I were both elated. BUT - they don't spend your money willy-nilly. I've brought my Jeep in for this, that and the other thing. They'll do one thing but tell me not to waste money on the other. They agree it needs to be done, but not right then and there. They will tell you when to save your money and when to pull the trigger. Which is comforting for someone who knows nothing about mechanic-ing. I found Independent Auto Repair while in a panic. My engine was violently shaking. This was the first of two (2) emergency fixes to my '05 Lexus. The first issue, when discussed with Ed, was diagnosed over the phone. Where I had been told by other mechanics that it could be anything from engine mounts to the catalytic converter. Ed told me it sounded like a misfire. He was right. The spark plugs needed to be replaced. Not only did he take me and my broken car late on a Saturday, he was able to fix my car by replacing the spark plugs, he also changed the oil and did a smog check for me. And, he did all of this at what I consider a very reasonable cost. I knew then I had found my new mechanic. And that was a very lucky thing because not 2 weeks later, I lost my alternator. My car had to be towed to the shop, and after Ed diagnosed the problem he called me with an estimate. Again, a very reasonable dollar amount to replace my Alternator. He assured me my battery was OK and holding a charge. I finally have a mechanic I feel I can trust. The fact that both of my issues were rather serious and needed immediate attention were solved quickly, easily, cost effectively and with a big smile means everything to me.
