I feel pretty comfortable with the Indian places I usually order from: first lil kebab and then himalaya in yorktown. I heard a recommendation about this place and was intrigued. We were ordering lunch at work and decided to see what they had to offer. It's cool that they have lunch "specials" they call lunchboxes. The bummer is that they have a bunch of chicken and meat dishes but the only vegetarian option is just "vegetables lunchbox". What the fuck is that? There was no description whatsoever on their own website. I don't know about you, but i'm certainly not going to leave the quality of my lunch down to "vegetables". I wouldn't be this entitled for pretty much any other cuisine but Indian is one that tends to be more vegetarian friendly and therefore, I find it more disappointing. I didn't get to benefit from their lunch specials but I did try their dal makhani and samosas. The dal makhani was spectacular. It was creamy and delicious. I liked the variety of legumes in there, there were some red kidney beans amongst the lentils. The accompanying rice was also quite good, it contained some spices which added a little zing compared to the basic, white rice provided by pretty much every other place. This dish was really out of this world. The samosa was good too and a reasonable size. The potatoes in there were very tasty but some of them were a TOUCH underdone which negatively affected the overall texture. A colleague gave me some of their naan and this was soft and also very good, definitely better than some other more bland naan i've had elsewhere. Overall, a very positive experience. We had to pay an extra fee to deliver which was annoying and if not for that, I would absolutely order from here again as soon as possible. read more

This place was really good. I'm glad I stopped here. I have heard about this place for awhile, but usually frequent a few other Indian restaurants. I stopped in for dinner. I made a reservation for 5:45 pm. There were only two other people there. It was more busy by the time I left, around 7:00 pm. I ordered the garlic naan, the eggplant, paneer, lamb samosas, chicken masala and the gulab jamun. Everything I had was delicious and flavorful. I'd definitely order each of these dishes again. What a gem! I went here for the first time with a friend, and we decided to try a bunch of different dishes to share. Everything was fresh and delicious. Portions were large. We ordered 2 appetizers, one main dish, and three different naan (garlic, lamb stuffed, and a sweet one stuffed with cherries and almonds), and we couldn't come close to finishing. When we asked for to-go containers for the leftovers, they brought us out a fresh container of rice to take home as well. We sat and lingered for a long time, and we never felt rushed. Way different experience than the last time we came here 2 years ago. The staff were rude and more interested in rushing us out the door than providing us with a nice experience. The drinks were terrible. Last time they had a mixologist on staff. I don't think they have one anymore. Why would you put orange juice in my pregnant wife's virgin mojito? The food had some highlights. Our starter and the naan were good. That's it. On the main course, the bindi bhuna was ok but it definitely wasn't bindi bhuna. The mixed vegetable korma was not tasty and drowned in coconut milk. What kind of North Indian restaurant uses coconut milk? I had been curious to try their sister restaurant, Tandoori Taste of India in Port Chester, but after this experience, I don't think I'll be going to either restaurant ever again. Other restaurants don't even try to use the right flavors or blends, and things are what I call "half-assed." However, Indi-Q does a good job of implementing tandoori food. I ate the malai kebab, but it missed the point of it being malai kebab. Malai kebab is not heavy or intense with garlic. The kebab seemed like it was what others call "safedh kebab" or white kebab (marinated with all things white like white peppercorns, yogurt, etc). Malai kebab's flavor comes from coal and usually melts in your mouth. Would I come for another visit? Maybe to try a few things. Could I say it should improve? Yes, because all restaurants in Westchester need to. You need to have a refined taste in Indian food to know what's the real deal. read more

I hate to give this place 3 stars because it truly deserves 5. Exceptional service, romantic, beautiful, spotless, restaurant. If this review was based only on the service and the restaurant it would totally get all 5. Came in on a Saturday night at an early time so didn't have to make reservations and it was rather quick to get in. After we arrived, it started filling up so it's probably best to call ahead for reservations. The staff was amazing, everyone greeted us with a warm smile and was very attentive at our needs and refilling our water/rice. Im obsessed with Indian food and we've yet to have a bad experience in an Indian restaurant. I usually order dal makhani and basically know the flavor by heart. I ALWAYS love to order it spicy (the real deal) because I feel it enhances the food and really brings out the flavor. Of course when I ordered it came out everything but spicy. It's ok, I'm not going to review this based off of my non spicy lentils. They were nice and flavorful just nothing over the top. Still delicious though. After trying the paneer masala it just felt like cubes of mozzarella cheese dipped in a Campbell soup sauce. Aka, mozzarella sticks with marinara. Not the best experience but it's alright, I wasn't the one to order it so it didn't affect me. Vegetable korma was quite BLAND to say the least. No flavors, nothing exceptional and for a $15 plate of vegetables I had higher expectations on the sauce. Vegetable madras was really good but nothing out of this world. Here's my critique: on he whole ambiance is perfect, I just wish the food leveled up to their reputation. Perhaps this was the wrong night? Different chef? Bad day? My husband and I hosted our baby shower at Indi-Q. The space was beautiful, it was perfect and comfortable for our 60 guests. Jay the owner of Indi-Q was so amazing to work with, he made planning the shower effortless for us! We did a lunch buffet and Jay was very accommodating making sure we had plenty of food options for both our vegetarian and non vegetarian family and friends. The mixed grill and tacos (shrimp, chicken tikka, kemma lamb, paneer tikka), root fritters, baingan burhani and lasooni gobhi were a huge hit and are definitely a must try! I'd heard rave reviews about this spot from a bunch of people, so was psyched to come here for their buffet this Sunday. This family-run restaurant is so delicious, warm, and welcoming. You walk into the buffet, and immediately you're shown to a table and handed a massive plate. You're eating incredible and creamy chicken tikka masala within minutes, saag paneer that's the best I've had, and sipping mango lassis. All the dishes are so well balanced - not too spicy, not too creamy, not too salty. Just right! I recently discovered this second-generation restaurant, run by the son of the family who owns a favorite Port Chester restaurant, "Tandoori Taste of India". Indi-Q is a place worth visiting as you travel to/from NYC on 684. This photo from my second (takeout) visit shows an incredible eggplant dish that is now a must for me. As I had arrived too early for my order to be ready, the host offered me a seat at a table and suggested this eggplant dish to keep me from eating the takeout as I drove back to the city. Lightly fried eggplant, almost like a wafer, dripped with a mixture of sweet and tangy sauces, each bite offering a flavor slightly different from the one before. My staples of chicken tikka, tikka masala, and sag paneer were also robust and fresh when we got home. Perfect for a rainy day Sunday lunch. We fell into the restaurant by proximity from our last locale and it was great. Service was fast and kind. Lunch menu was great and comes packed with nice sides - naan, yellow dal, and rice! Per person! Big portions overall. Good food and it was a nice and quiet space with a chill vibe. Recommend highly. Parking available in the lot outside. We really enjoyed this meal and brought home some leftovers for family or a late night snack. The food here was delicious. We had the chicken tacos, mixed grill appetizers, naan. All were great. Staff was polite. Did they refill my water when it emptied, no. When the waitress came by and saw we had no water didn't bring a jug. I wouldn't say this was fine dining. There were only 2 tables with people and 2 waitresses. I asked if I could have some hot sauce. They brought over some sweet chilli sauce, which I later found out was their vindaloo sauce, for which I was charged $5! I can get a bottle of hot sauce for $5. Thank you for the experience but I will not be back. Next time you should be nicer to your customers. Waitresses should at least make sure the customers are satisfied before expecting a 20% tip. Overall don't recommend. Maybe delivery where you don't have to intact with the staff. read more

Probably some of the best Indian food I've had, ever. This includes not just the Armonk and surrounding areas, but also restaurants in Los Angeles where I lived for years. The buffet is reasonably priced and has a rotating menu, so coming here you'll not get the same dishes every time. The food is amazing and so very fresh. Their vindaloo is reason enough to make the drive. The owners are very warm and accommodating, and the M-F lunch crowd can fill the place up. There's a reason they have so many regulars. This lunch buffet was just what I needed after handling some business nearby. Especially since not having breakfast, I was ready to throw down. 3 plates later, I was highly satisfied. Chicken and lamb dishes were well seasoned, the meats were not overcooked and the veggie options were tasty as well. I can't remember the name of everything I ate but the buffet definitely had the Indian staples of Chicken Tikka, Chicken Vindaloo, Tandoori Chicken, Lamb and about 4 veggie options on top of unlimited samosas, white rice and naan. There was also a sweet rice pudding available for dessert, and I believe they also had a small selection of beer and wine if you wanted it. And most importantly, budget friendly. $14.95 for the lunch buffet. I'm glad I stopped in. Also, at the time I stopped in, some IBM employees were having a farewell luncheon so they took up most of the tables, but when they cleared out there was a very small and quiet lunch crowd here. Was weirdly in the mood for Indian food and found this place on Yelp and given the amazing ratings I had to go check it out. I am normally not the biggest fan of Indian, but this place really impressed me. The ambience is pretty fancy inside and almost romantic but I was wearing a sweatshirt, oh well. Based on their website I thought the inside would be more trendy and hipster, but it ended up being perfect for a date night. There is PLENTY of parking next to the restaurant and when we walked in we were greeted friendly and promptly. There was only one other couple in there when we arrived so the service was very attentive. We ordered drinks, which was made way too strong for me (but that's good for everyone else - you get what you pay for!) As for the food we had the goat vindaloo, garlic naan, tacos, and veggie samosas. All was THOROUGHLY enjoyed! All the ingredients were fresh, authentic and most importantly tasty. Wonderful surprise on an impromptu date night with me and the wife. Very up-scale feel without the pompous attitude. Wonderful family feel like your being invited in for a homemade meal, but classy service! Since the closure of Bengal Tiger, I have been searching for a solid Indian restaurant in central Westchester. Based on our Sunday evening visit, Indi-Q offers that and more. We began with red sangria and a mango mojito, the latter being excellent and of good size. Our first appetizer up, the Indian tacos - filled with tandoori shrimp, some cabbage, and a sort of corn salsa, was excellent. Next came a mixed grill of reshmi kebab and two types of chicken - portioned for three. All three selections were moist and tender, not even needing the raita accompaniment. Short of full on raan, the boti kebab here is the best way to satisfy a lamb jones. A good sized portion, nicely seasoned, tender, succulent. Madras curry was not exactly what I expected - sort of like a tikka masala with an amped up spice level but still excellent, plenty of tender chicken. The brightness of the spices in the saag paneer was exceptional, the spinach greener, the butter reduced. Entree portions were generous. We didn't have room for dessert, which was sort of superfluous after the sweet and savory peshawari naan. Overall, easily one of the best Indian meals we have had in Westchester. read more

Quite satisfied with my goat Vindaloo and garlic naan. I ordered to go. The Vindaloo is quite spicy with large pieces of gamy goat (yum!), lots of sauce to dip the naan, but be careful of the bones. The sauce is tangy and thick, and you can almost taste the individual spices, like coriander. The garlic naan is bigger than others I have tried and it has little charred spots. It has a very chewy consistency than being bready. The portion size is good for lunch. read more
