Came here for lunch with a few friends after church. The restaurant was beautiful and spacious, with pretty, elegant touches. There was a peaceful ambiance to the place. Menus were displayed on high tech tablets, with photos near each item. I still had a hard time deciding what to order. I finally went for the Goan Fish Curry, featuring Salmon. This was served with a small helping of Basmati Rice. My friend and I also shared Garlic Cheese Naan, which cost a whopping $11! Garlic Cheese Naan was quite tasty with plenty of garlic and the bread was cooked to perfection, but did not have nearly enough cheese! Goan Fish Curry sauce was bold in flavor with a complex mixture of well seasoned spices, while the Salmon was delightfully tender and well seasoned. However, there was not enough pieces of Salmon. We were given complimentary dessert of Galub Jamun, which was satisfyingly sticky and very sweet in the fragrant, delicate sugar syrup with notes of cardamom and saffron. Service was pretty good, but it took awhile to get our check. Everything seemed overpriced, so I would not return. read more

Horrible could not describe this experience. I had delivery for lunch and it felt like a school lunch gone bad. I selected the chicken tikka masala, it had literally 4 small pieces of chicken which was so dry and came with a minimal amount of rice and a very dry and hard naan. I had a movie date with my friend & because I don't eat meat if it's not halal we had find something near by in Times square! I googled it & called them also to make sure the food is halal. I have also asked if they need reservations, they didn't . So we went there to have dinner. It was like 12 min walk from Times Square.. The place was cute, not too fancy ! Not too crowded, lots of empty seats . We both used the restroom & it was too smelly. And not much clean, I was kinda shocked! So I told a person who works there & she was just looking at me like what she is talking about. So I told her to go inside & have a look. I always say if a restaurant has bad smelly bathroom & kitchen is also not good then not a good idea to eat food there! We were already seated so I decided to stay. We ordered Chicken Tikka Sizzler, Goat Biriani , Coke. I liked the chicken but the biryani was not so much. We both had hard time finishing the biryani, kinda disappointed! Ordered goat vindaloo, really tasty but not spicy as vindaloo should be... very disappointing. I would definitely come back and order curries as they are probably cooked more to expectation. Honestly I was super dissatisfied with the service here. The food was alright, drinks were warm. We got charged while the food was being delivered which was super weird and uncomfortable. My family and I were discriminated because we were the only non indian family. Indian food is my absolute favorite but after coming to this place my love for indian food has gone down. The 18% of "gratitude" we paid should be refunded because we were not once checked on and asked if we were doing okay. They made us wait a whole hour to get our food. Mind you I'm pregnant. Super unprofessional! Not only were we discriminated but when we ordered we asked if it was going to be enough food it in fact was not enough food. $213 for 4 small ass plates of food is crazy! My husband and I usually get the chicken tikka sizzler and the saag paneer. The chicken is nicely seasoned and never overcooked. The saag paneer is flavorful with nice sized pieces of paneer. We've ordered other things as well and they've been good. My only criticism is that spicy isn't spicy but then again I am REALLY into spicy. read more

This place is scummy--18% automatic tip (see: no incentive for waiters), sticky tables that I had to "pry myself off of", and ridiculously priced food: $8.27 for the smallest ras malai (less than 1 inch diameter). I am floored at how pathetic this place is. If you're looking for Indian food in the Times Square area, go to Curry India; they're relatively unknown which is a shame given how delicious their food is + the fact that they've been around since 1915 (A little after electricity was brought to Time Square and all the signs were alight). When we swung by for lunch today only two other tables were seated. The waiter still found a way to take forever; not only did he not pour any water (82 degrees out), it took him at least 15 minutes to come and get our order. Even then, he seemed to have left his faculties elsewhere, with significant latency "Is there tandoori on the menu?" "Uhhhh". Uhhh to everything. It seemed evident he had been at the place for a while though so I'm not sure why he didn't know the menu. The other patrons also seemed displeased with the wait--the 2 tables that is. Either way, our tandoor chicken + tikka masala eventually came out. Very generic Indian food not even holding a flame to the the authentic spots where the cabbies eat! I was shaken to the core at how inept the waiter was--but that was before I saw the ras malai. I have never seen such a laughable thing in my life: less than 1 inch in diameter in the tiniest "bowl"--this is the most scanty dessert offering ever $8.27. The real cherry on top--which shall now be also recognized as a dessert having seen this place's "ras malai"--was waiting on the check. The waiter made us wait 10m idly (finished all our food) so we ended up asking a second time. He had to serve other tables when he was literally so close to the register so we had to ask a 3rd time. We were not gonna leave a tip, which is uncommon for us, but they ended up having gratuity anyways. Screw this place. read more

We arrived when they first opened, and service was slow. They advertise that we could order from the menu but kept pushing the buffet. Finally our servers decided that we could order from the menu. I had the tomato soup with about five croutons, and my friends had Butter Chicken and some sort of lamb. They both enjoyed their dishes. Also, we had the Naan Garlic Bread and it was delicious Overall, it was a good experience but the service could be better. The customer service was good but the servers seemed confused. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. Waiter recommended the Goan fish so I got it. The fish was cooked well (slightly crispy on the outside but soft and tender on the inside) but the curry sauce wasn't my favorite. Probably just a personal preference but the sauce felt like it had shreds of coconut, which gave it a weird texture and taste. Service was friendly albeit a little slow. Spacious interior. They do have an intriguing prefix option for $35 that I would've gotten if I had been more hungry. Choose two appetizers, two entrees, a soup plus a dessert. I didn't see how big the portions were but sounds like a good deal to me! They also appear to have a lunch buffet every day for $17.95 (not sure when it starts but I think it goes until 3:30pm), which I might come back to try just to see if I just ordered the wrong thing this visit. read more

The food is delicious. I've been twice and both times the food was very good. I had the butter chicken the first time and the chicken korma the second time and I really enjoyed the food. It's nice inside. The service was just okay, but they were not very attentive. The servers were more focused on their private conversations than on serving the customer. It can be hard to find this place with the small indistinguishable awning entrance but the interior is pretty nice. They have these green velvetly chairs and it's nicely decorated with a painting at the front and some fake vines with flowers at the entrance. I came here already a few times for work lunches and the food has been pretty consistent and good. I had a mango lassi today it was refreshing and they gave it in a pretty big cup. The naan is solid as well as the garlic naan. The samosas are tasty. They have this pan puri which I had never had, it's supposedly Mumbai street food. It's basically like an open, crunchy samosa with some potatoes in the middle and comes with this watery brown sauce. It was different, and pretty good, although this was the first time I've had it The Rajasthani curry was tasty, and the butter chicken was really creamy and came in a thiccc sauce. Very good. I also had the lamb tandoori which tastes great also, and has a slightly nice crispy finish. The tikka masala is pretty standard, very good though as well. It's usually not crowded at all there when we've gone for lunch. As a matter of fact, we were often the only ones there, not sure why being this is really close, basically right on the close outskirts of the heart of Times Square. The reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is the service can be a bit slow, and a few times they forgot an order. I'm usually very forgiving with that as long as a "sorry" is said or they put a pep in their step but since it happened like two thirds of the time we were there when there was barely anyone else in the restaurant, I am holding it against them. However, definitely a solid, and good Indian place in Times Square. I think that's even more credible and noteworthy given the mostly chain restaurants in the area and generally thin dining options for good, authentic food in the immediate Times Square area. read more

Amazing. We came here during their partial opening and the ambience was beautiful with a royal twist in their interior design. The service was impeccable and very professional. We were pretty clueless on what to order but our server Mohan took care of it by recommending vegetable samosas for the appetizer, butter chicken (masala) and chicken curry for the entree with side of regular naan and garlic naan. The food was spot on and of high quality. I really liked the chicken masala; it went perfectly with the rice, the naan, or even on its own. Towards the end of our meal, we were offered a complimentary dessert known as Rasmalai, which is basically cottage cheese soaked in condensed milk. Overall, this is definitely a great addition to the neighborhood and will definitely be back again. It's definitely one of the better Northern Indian cuisine I have had in a long while. read more

This is an excellent addition to the neighborhood. We went for the lunch buffet which cost about $20 each. The buffet had salad, basmati rice, dal makhani, lamb curry, tandoori chicken, peas & carrots, saag paneer, and a dessert dish. The owner came by to give us naan, and check on us a few times. Everything was delicious. Service was excellent. It is very clean and has a nice appearance. It has only been open for 2 weeks, but they seem to have their act together. They do not have a liquor license, as yet, but apparently that is in the works. My only suggestion would be to add a little heat to a few of the dishes which are all quite mild. I would recommend this restaurant for authentic, and tasty North Indian food at a reasonable price. read more

They could really use some help with food serving and presentation as there seemed no effort in that area. Firstly, it's TIMES Square. One of the absolute best Indian restaurants I've ever been to, not just New York but including Boston & Baltimore. Friendly service, good prices, excellent location close to Intercontinental Hotel where we were staying. We were pleased when India at Times Square reopened after closing during the pandemic, because it was a favorite pre-theater dining destination. We gave it a try recently (December 2022) and found the food to still be quite good, although not all of the dishes we tried were the same caliber as previous. For example, the pakoras were a bit greasy and the chickpea flour was a little raw in places, and the sauce on the gobi Manchurian was a tad sweet and the cauliflower wasn't deep fried. However, the butter chicken was excellent, as were the Sikh kebabs, and the breads were really good and still reasonable with 4 pieces per serving. Unfortunately, some of the more interesting menu items were gone, but there also were a few new additions. My only complaint was that service was a bit lackluster, with no excuse because the restaurant was pretty empty. read more
