Having lived and worked in Manhattan for the past 20 years, I have had the opportunity to try many many vendor carts. Being partial to Indian / Pakistani food, I was always seeking out a cart that was consistently up to my spice and flavor standards. Many had decent enough food and some not so memorable. I got to try My Biryani and the cooking style of Tayyab the owner by fluke. I used to go to a cart near My Biryani but for some reason that cart was not there that day so I decided to try My Biryani Cart. Man, was I surprised and thankful. Tayyab was very friendly and accommodating and offered me various sampling's, all which I liked. I ended up taking extra platters of kebabs and chicken tikka home to the family. Now it's become a frequent ritual to eat as well as take food home to my family. Even when I moved office to downtown, I travel out of my way to get food from this cart weekly. I love this place and it is a regular in the lunch rotation. I tend to go with the chana and/or daal over rice but their biryani is some of the best in the area. They have a variety of sauces and since I prefer some spice, I opt for the green sauce which provides a nice kick without overwhelming the flavor of the dish. It's really fantastic to have a place like this where you feel like you are eating something that came out of a home kitchen, as opposed to the over processed fare that typically gets consumed for lunch. Lastly, the folks who operate the truck are fantastic. Always friendly and quick to recall your last few orders to see if you want the same. With so many carts popping up, it's hard to discern which ones to try, so i would recommend this one if you are looking for delicious vegetarian or biryani. read more

I went to eat the Chicken over Rice here as I usually do after work, however I had the worst experience. The employees were extremely rude and there but 12 get 1 free meal card is the worst. After eating 12 meals for the past 2 weeks I went back to get my free meal however the quality of the meal was absurd. The rice was dry and you could vividly see how the rice was old. The chicken tasted bitter and when I went to buy a drink, the Coca Cola can was dirty and the soda wasn't cold. I do not recommend going to this food cart. But I do recommend the Indian Tasty Halal Food Cart that is on the right of the this cart. The food is great and made right in front of you. read more

Forget about Halal Guys, this is the real McCoy. If you are looking for an authentic, delicious, inexpensive food and a service with a smile then look no further. I have tried various cart foods in midtown but have found My Biryani to be the best Pakistani/Indian food hands down, so much so that even my folks at home ask for it regularly. You can custom order your platter or sandwich anyway you want and Tayyab the owner will ensure that you are completely satisfied with your order. This is my favorite spot when it comes to authentic pakistani/indian food. I always try to at least have lunch here once a week- being that the food is amazing. I would encourage you to give My Biryani a try? You will not be disappointed at all. There are many options to choose from be it meat, fish, burgers, or even vegetarians as well. I've been going to this place for over a year almost on weekly basis, they have really good food!! Well prepare and more importantly clean and delicious!! One important thing, this place is an option for vegetarians like myself. One of their products that I love the most is their chaina ( chickpeas ) yummy!!! This cart is cleaner than most restaurants , the tastiest food and sooo many options for food, Mohhamed even boils an egg sometimes , nobody else does that! Tried this place after my colleagues recommended it. First of all, the food is nicely priced. Secondly, the chicken biryani I had was delicious. And lastly, the owner always serves with a smile. Excellent chicken over rice. Flavorful moist chicken with a good amount of spiciness over aromatic rice. Salad is included, and the white and hot sauce hit the spot.
