Amazing! My first review of a restaurant ever, but this place deserves it. This place is fantastic! The service is incredible, great ambiance with dim lighting, with the nicest owner. You can tell the owner really cares about the people that come to eat at his restaurant. I am from out of state and I am making sure I come here any time I am in town. Everything was amazing. The food was spectacular. To start, we were given lentil crackers with a variety of dipping sauces that were all fantastic. I ordered the Channa Masala Punjabi, which was the most well seasoned channa masala I have ever had, it tasted beautiful. I had Garlic Naan with it, which was very garlicky, but otherwise just standard naan--there was nothing remarkable about it. The rice was cooked to perfection. The service was like a well-oiled machine. The only other place I've been to with a similar quality of service was Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in Carlsbad. We had a different server for everything and they were all friendly and helpful. My water would be 3/4 full and they would still come and refill it. One server mixed together some sauces for our lentil crackers. Another brought our food. The timing was impeccable. The restaurant itself is clean and has a tranquil atmosphere; the lighting is soft and cozy and the walls are adorned with Indian art. The tables have white tablecloths and comfortable chairs. Overall, I would definitely recommend coming here and I will be a frequent customer! It was excellent! read more

Looks can be deceiving. The pictures from previous reviewers and the 4 star rating led us to this restaurant. It was unfortunately very disappointing. Spice- can mean flavor or Spice can me heat. This restaurant made some of the oddest flavored Indian food. I can not say spice was used in the food we got. I can't quite place my finger on the flavor but it wasn't like real Indian food. The only good part was the roti and the rice. We finally asked if the chef was from India and we were told no. We met a nice young man from Peru and another from Ethiopia but not a single Indian. My favorite Indian place is temporarily closed and I tried tandoori guys and was not a fan so was very hesitant to try another place but I am so glad so did!! My husband got tikka masala and white rice and I got Aloo gobi and white rice with a side of naan. Everything was delicious and had so much flavor. I did let them know I'd like spicy and I get like it wasn't really spicy but nbd. The service was good and food was great. Possibly great food and great ambiance. Dinner is a little on the pricey side. They have been cooking Indian food for Americans for 30 years so when you say not spicy, please be aware you are ruining the delight of the Indian food they are serving. India Palace hits it out of the park! We had a table of 8 on a busy Friday evening and still had exceptional service. The food was hot, delicious and served in very generous portions. The owner came by to check on us and pretty much just say Hello since our dinner companions are regulars here. We had saag paneer, chicken tikka masala and naan as our mains and everything was seriously the BEST version of each we've ever had. Other food on the table looked equally yummy and everyone seemed very happy with their dishes. Two of us ordered dessert. I did not try the rice pudding/kheer but heard it was great. The strip mall that this place is located in is fairly basic but the service and food make it worth the visit! We were seated quickly and our waiter was quite helpful in assisting me as I chose an entree. I went with Gobi Manchurian. Delicious! Good sized portion. I chose this restaurant for lunch with my family, bc it was the highest rated Indian place in the area. I paused when I saw the health rating, but we were on the road and they were hungry. I didn't even consider that we were headed into a buffet during COVID. I want to state that the food was solid and replenished frequently. The owner came out to care for the customers. The price was reasonable. At any other time, this would be all fine. But (you all knew there was a "but") there were no hygienic precautions at the buffet. There was no staff serving out the food. I saw a woman licking her fingers before returning to ladle out more food. There were no signs to encourage mask wearing when going up to the buffet. And there were multiple guests that didn't. When the owner stopped by to check on us, I mentioned all this, and he assured me that they were following health department guidelines. He stated that there was hand sanitizer nearby. I feel that this is a no win situation for everyone. I feel hard for business owners right now. I can't imagine the stress and struggle they go through. So my rating does not factor in my misgivings. I thanked him for the delicious food, but it just wasn't a good idea for us to visit a buffet during a pandemic. read more

Some of the best Indian food I've had in a while. Curry chicken tandoor chicken and curry lamb were delicious and had a nice amount of spice. The customer service is great and the people there are really nice. The owner is also really nice and asks everybody how there meal was. I cannot say enough good things about India Palace. My wife and I have been eating at this restaurant and ordering their takeout for years, and they always do an awesome job. Seriously, we have eaten here probably over a hundred times, and they always knock it out of the park. We challenge ourselves to try to find better Indian restaurants every time we travel to a new city, and we haven't found a single place that stacks up. One place in Seattle, Annapurna, came close, and Tandoori Guys is super good, but India Palace reigns supreme. The food is incredible, and the servers take care of you as if you were actually royalty.. even if you are underdressed for the environment (as I often am). After trying the few other options for Indian cuisine in town, India Palace is the best choice in my opinion. Yes the ambiance and decor isn't the best and could be better but we mainly go there for their dishes and good friendly service! Every time we come in we are always immediately greeted with a smile especially when the owner (or manager I am not sure) is there he will always make you feel welcome. I'll be honest I have never tried home made Indian food or been to India to know how "authentic" Indian food is supposed to taste. However I enjoy discovering new tastes and spices and I have to say the food at India Palace does not appear to be bland like most "fusion" places. One of my favorite dish there is the Lamb Vindaloo which is full of flavorful spices and the lamb is cooked very well. The dish has a little kick of spice but you can request change in spice level if necessary. My wife's favorite is the classic Chicken Tika Massala which is also very flavorful and perfect to eat over their delicious Basmati rice. We also enjoy their Chai tea which comes with free refills. There was one dish that was somewhat disappointing to me: the Beef Jalfrezi. It lacked flavor compared to the other two I mentioned and the beef was pretty chewy. But overall we are often satisfied when we eat at this restaurant. India Palace is definitely our go to when we are craving Indian food in town. read more

Reliably excellent Indian food. Whether you are a fan of a lunchtime buffet or full service Indian cuisine at it's best, we've been a fan of the India Palace for years. Wife had the Lamb Punjabi for her Birthday dinner and I ordered the Dal Meat (also lamb) and an order of Saag Paneer. We happily shared a bit of all three, along with some Garlic Naan and a mountain of rice. Since this is mid-April in the spring of Covid-19 we phoned in the order for pickup. Generous portions traveled well the two mile trip home. Happy to support the India Palace during these challenging times. read more

This is our favorite Indian place. The first time we came we were acknowledged and the server didn't come back for over 15 minutes. So why the five stars? Because the service after that was immeasurable. We travel from OKC to eat here because it's that good to us. On our most recent visit we came during the lunch buffet. Buffets freak me out but I was pleasantly surprised and plenty of favorites were on the buffet (tikka masala, paneer, chutneys and sauces for days). We had the same server and he did great as did the manager. Busy, hard working folks who treat everyone like extended family. The chicken tikka masala is full of flavor and is good cuts of meat. No stringy or greasy chicken. I haven't had any meat I felt the urge to spit out (have you ever had that? It's the worst!!). Can you tell I've been traumatized? Haha. The naan is addictive and if you have a carb limit just don't start because you'll want them all. read more

I went with my daughter for the buffet. It was truly amazing. I was nervous, the food maybe too spicy for me, but actually it really wasn't. If something did start to get a little bit warm in my mouth I'll just take a bite of the white rice which was really good. For my drink the chai tea. It was so creamy and delicious. I recently had occasion to be in the 61st and Lewis area around lunchtime, so I popped into India Palace for lunch. Ever a lover of good Indian food, I wanted to see how this place stacked up. The place itself is slightly upscale and nicely maintained. The buffet sits in the back of the place in a roomy and well list section. The buffet itself is mainly two sections: cold salads and such and hot dishes. I sampled around half the dishes on the buffet and was honestly unimpressed. Tandoori chicken is always a favorite of mine, and while good, IPs was not great. I found it bland and lacking in depth. Granted, this was a buffet serving, but I can't imagine why you'd do a subpar version for a menu. The rices were overly dry, with the chicken fried rice dry to the point of just not being good. There was a grilled chicken dish that I don't recall the name of, but I was wholly unimpressed. The chicken was dry, hard and tough. Once piece was enough. I can't comment on the ala cart dishes, only the buffet. But I can confidently say this is not a buffet offering I would care to take a second shot at. read more

One of our all time favorite places. We were so craving it today, it was so cold and rainy out and this was the perfect place. We usually go on weekdays and were delighted to know that they do their lunch buffet on weekends too. They also are open for dinner and I think they have a full bar-I know they at least have wine. We usually go for lunch versus dinner so I haven't had drinks there before. It's one of our favorite lunch places, we love all of the choices on the buffet. The atmosphere is pretty casual. Started out with a cup of their hot chai and they refill it as much as you want! I love their tomato soup. They have a salad bar but I usually skip that and go right into the soup and hot items. I did get the marinated onions though, those are always good! Every day they feature regular items such as white rice, another rice that has chicken in it (I didn't catch the name of it but it was so good-I always get the seasoned rice dish versus the white rice, but I'm sure the white rice is good too), creamed spinach, veggies with potatoes, naan (Indian bread-yummy) and tandoori chicken. Also had a dish with chick peas today and veggies. Love the meatballs in sauce. Was excited they had chicken tikki masala-I think they have it throughout the week but some days when we hit the buffet they have a different feature-which is always great but tikki masala is my favorite! For dessert I had a little of both the rice pudding and mango custard. I can't say enough good things about this place! Oh and the owner and servers are really nice! We went to India 6 years ago for 2 weeks and we think that India Palace has better food than any place we tried in India-and we went to some fancy places and many regular places too. We have noticed that India Palace is frequented by people from India, so that is always a good sign that it is authentic and so good! read more
