I was looking for a place for a team dinner of 10 and this so happened to be right in front of our hotel. We did not have reservations but we were able to be seated rather quickly. Our server was pleasant and answered all of the questions we had about the menu. Grilled cheese and tomato soup- 3/5 the tomato soup in the pictures looked a lot creamier than the one I received, mine was a bit watery. The grilled ham and cheese sandwich saved the meal. The Chicken skillet was just ok, I was expecting more flavor from this supposed more upscale place. Alot of us were in town for a convention and so this place was very close. It seemed as though many of our attendees ended up eating here. I came in with a large group and considering how many of us there were, it was a rather seamless effort. The menu had many items and I couldn't make up my mind, so I went with the grilled cheese...no ham...and the tomato soup. Portions were large and so I only ate half of the sandwich. Lunch was in order and Cafeteria 15L was on the menu. The restaurant was fairly empty around 11:45 so we got seated fairly quickly. The menu seemed fairly simple and straight to the point. I decided to get the Grilled Atlantic Salmon entree - bad choice. The overall presentation of the dish was great. The base layer was a very delicious creamy corn orzo. That's about all I can say about this dish that was appetizing. Even though the menu does mention asparagus, it was nowhere to be seen, the tomatoes took a day off as well. So basically all I got was a blob of orzo and a "side" of salmon. To call it anything else would be a crime. The patty at McDonalds Fillet O Fish would look like a full entree next to what I was served. The menu says the salmon is grilled. I guess charcoal bricks with a hint of salmon is what their version of grilled is. The salmon was dry and charred. I've had meals at this restaurant before and remember it being much more tastier. Not going to lie this place has been going down hill since losing key employees that worked here. The service is alright some hosts are faster than others but most seem like they don't appreciate or admire their customers time or money. The quality of food here has become more of a hazard than enjoyment. The pancakes are sloppily made and the burgers are often undercooked despite requesting well done or even burnt at this point. Its a nice restaurant with nice scenery inside and outside seating but the quality of food is absolutely disappointing. Came here using my Resy Credit through an American Express card. I've heard a lot about this restaurants from my friends as the new "go to" restaurant - although by now it's been there for quite a while. No complimentary parking, so be prepared to pay either street parking or 15 in their lot, as they do not validate parking. They give quite generous portions, and we got a bunch of tomato based dishes and tater tots as well lol. Highly recommend the truffle tater tots, cobb salad, and shakshuka! We got their after Christmas waffles, and they were just okay. I wouldn't get them again. They didn't taste special and the fruit on top made they pretty soggy. This place is really good. One of the favorites in my rotation whenever I'm in downtown Sacramento. Located near the capitol, this spot can get crowded but with 2 outside patios, inside lounge area and medium to large rooms for private gathering or additional dining space. The menu is expansive with several items available. I enjoy the weekend brunch most. In town for an early Christmas with family. Met up with friends to reconnect after more than a year at this comfortable downtown restaurant for breakfast. Although it was fairly busy we could still hear one another...a plus. I like the patio area however it was very cold and it would not be comfortable. Love this place! Such a fantastic space both inside and outside. We come here for Saturday/Sunday brunch when the weather is warm and you can dine in the very large outdoor covered patio area, and we are always well taken care of by our server. The food for brunch is excellent, as is the overall vibe of the place. I am told it is a nightclub in the evenings (probably Friday/Saturday), and you can tell if you take a walk around the huge space that this is. Great having all these separate rooms and areas. Our food was maybe a 6.5/10. The potatoes had so much garlic it really overtook everything else. Also the English muffin on the eggs Benedict is very very thin. That being said, if you opt for the bottomless mimosa, which you totally should, it's only $18 ,& they truly are bottomless. They will not let your cup get empty. It was great and beyond worth it. This is a large restaurant with various seating areas - outdoors, counters, and indoor tables. We were seated outside under the shade of a large tree. I ordered the Cafeteria burger and a side of fresh fruit. The fruit bowl had excellent raspberries, blackberries, pineapple slices and two kinds of melons. The melons were the usual unripe, tasteless variety but the other fruits were just the right freshness and sweetness. The burger meat, on the other hand, was a disappointment - thin, hard, and tasteless despite its generous size and the 1000 island dressing. They could do better, considering the burger is named after the establishment. The shoestring fries were delicious and the best thing on the plate. The portions here are ginormous, no doubt to please diners' expectations. I would prefer a smaller plate with a more consistent flavor profile. read more

Just OK. This restaurant hits the mark on everything besides food. Fast and friendly service staff, a clean and cute interior, multiple TVs for viewing, a convenient location, and clean bathrooms. I think the only drawback of Cafeteria 15L is the food. I found neither dish I had to be anything worth coming back for or worth the price in regard. My party ordered the mexican skillet and shakshuka, setting us back $17.75 each. The mexican skillet consists of eggs, chicken chorizo, onions, peppers, pepper jack cheese, guacamole, tater tots, and tortillas. Nothing in particular stood out. I expected more flavor and juiciness from the chicken chorizo, especially as it's the main protein in the dish. There was nothing significant about this dish, and I found it pretty basic in terms of its flavor, or lack thereof, but it was filling and inoffensive regardless. The shakshuka came with sourdough toasts that were super lightly toasted, two over easy eggs, and a very light serving of feta cheese throughout. I thought that the base was actually quite alright, but was disappointed with the small servings of eggs and feta, which typically characterizes other shakshuka I've had! The extremely light toast was also a bit disappointing, and we could hardly tell that it was toasted in the first place! Ultimately, Cafeteria 15L is a nice, visually pleasing restaurant to visit at least once, but the food quality to price ratio makes it hard to justify a return. read more

Made a reservation for Cafeteria 15L for Thursday evening, January 8 before attending a Broadway Show. This was my first time dining at this restaurant and my spouse and I really enjoyed the great service and excellent food. The ambiance is inviting and they were pretty busy. I do not recall our server's name but she was an excellent server and we sat at the second table from the corner, just across from the bar. Our cocktails arrived quickly as did our food. I ordered the braised short rib and my spouse ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf. My short rib was tender and tasty on a bed of risotto and mushroom. I ate every shred of the short rib and didn't leave a grain of risotto on my plate. My spouses's bacon wrapped meatloaf came with a generous helping of mashed potatos and string beans. His meal was excellent and the meatloaf had a nice spice kick to it. After dinner we had a second round of drinks and it was a quick walk to our next destination to see a Broadway show. I will absolutely be returning to Cafeteria 15L. I have already eyed my next two meals there from the menu, and I am also looking forward to trying their brunch. Highly recommend Cafeteria 15L. Cafeteria 15L is such a vibe from the food to the service, I was truly impressed. For mocktails, I tried the Lavender Haze, Watermelon Sugar, Hi!, and the Berry Lemonade. I had the fried chicken sandwich with jalapeño mustard, Gruyère cheese, w/o the tomato and it was one of the best chicken sandwiches I've had. It was cooked crispy and the pairing of the cheese and the mustard just worked! For dessert I tried the Mint Chip Mud Pie and I wish I had another one right now because it was just that good! The chicken sandwich was delicious (and randomly the mixed greens were really good as well). I had a Manhattan and it's one of the best I've had in a while. My wife really enjoyed her tomato soup/grilled cheese combo, but there was an issue where the bar tender thought she just wanted the soup. This place was just OK. Came while visiting a friend that lives in Sacramento. Inside is really aesthetic and the service was good. The food was meh. To start, nothing on the menu really stood out as something I NEEDED to try. I got the Mexican skillet which came on a bed of tater tots and it was just waaaaayyy too much tater tot base and not enough eggs/chorizo mixture. Needless to say I didn't eat majority of my plate.
