I have been here a few times and the food seems to disappoint a little. I enjoyed the tuna small bite and the French toast was pretty good. I really LOVED their drink menu. I had the seasonal pear beverage and was shocked at how good and refreshing it was. The front staff was a little snappy and wasn't concerned about being cordial or kind, but was only concerned if we had reservations. We tried to tell them that our party was there alread, and she said "oh someone is here? Do they have reservations " ... some proper restaurant etiquette would be nice. "Hi how are you" etc... The espresso martini wasn't the greatest, but I would def come back for bottomless mimosas . Already fed.

Alot of us were in town for a convention and so this place was very close. It seemed as though many of our attendees ended up eating here. I came in with a large group and considering how many of us there were, it was a rather seamless effort. The menu had many items and I couldn't make up my mind, so I went with the grilled cheese...no ham...and the tomato soup. Portions were large and so I only ate half of the sandwich. It was very flavorful and I enjoyed it. Will have to come back and try something else.

Cafeteria 15L was a pleasant surprise. We came in with no real expectations, maybe because the name reminded me of school lunches. The food, however, was executed extremely well. Nothing overly fancy, just thoughtfully prepared dishes done right.

Went into Cafeteria 15L last Saturday night with my wife and some family. Ryan our waiter was very friendly and did a great job taking care of our table. Our food was Great!! The atmosphere was really nice and the place felt in with the times. Being able to see the opposite sex in the bathroom cause on the sink area only glass separates you which was kinda weird.

Loved our time here. We enjoyed the seating selection and open feel to the restaurant. We were seated fast but took about 15 mins to get our order taken. Besides that the service was nice and the food was very tasty! The portion sizes were good for the prices and omg the cheesecake is to die for. Would definitely come back to try out their brunch on the weekend!

Came here using my Resy Credit through an American Express card. I've heard a lot about this restaurants from my friends as the new "go to" restaurant - although by now it's been there for quite a while. No complimentary parking, so be prepared to pay either street parking or 15 in their lot, as they do not validate parking. They give quite generous portions, and we got a bunch of tomato based dishes and tater tots as well lol. Highly recommend the truffle tater tots, cobb salad, and shakshuka! We got their after Christmas waffles, and they were just okay. I wouldn't get them again. They didn't taste special and the fruit on top made they pretty soggy. Also they didn't mention pistachios, which my friend is allergic, so we had to separate that out from the other food.

Love the private function space at the back. It was a fantastic get together area with adequate seats/couches, standing room is great to socialize and meet. The stage is at the middle of the room and sound system is great. We had a great open bar and the finger food were soectacular!

In town for an early Christmas with family. Met up with friends to reconnect after more than a year at this comfortable downtown restaurant for breakfast. Although it was fairly busy we could still hear one another...a plus. I like the patio area however it was very cold and it would not be comfortable. We all ordered different breakfast items, which all came to the table around the same time. Our meals all arrive hot and for the most part well seasoned. Everyone seemed satisfied with their dishes. Having a group we were automatically charged 18 percent tip.

Love this place! Such a fantastic space both inside and outside. We come here for Saturday/Sunday brunch when the weather is warm and you can dine in the very large outdoor covered patio area, and we are always well taken care of by our server. The food for brunch is excellent, as is the overall vibe of the place. I am told it is a nightclub in the evenings (probably Friday/Saturday), and you can tell if you take a walk around the huge space that this is. Great having all these separate rooms and areas. I really like it! They truly have hit the nail on the head.

I gotta say every time i come to this place with coworkers, it's always a great time. I love their Rigatoni Bolognese and Shrimp Scampi. They have great Brussels Sprouts and their Ice tea is high quality. The service is always the best here with really attentive servers. The ambiance inside is great. Not too loud and not too quiet. Just the perfect amount of noise and great aesthetic inside with a mixture of tables and booths. They have plenty of seating and the also have an outside patio. This place is always a must when in Sacramento

The fare is Mediterranean inspired in a classy mid-town vibe. THE PROS: Wonderful ambiance. Our server, Ferzan, was top notch, both with her service and suggestions. Upscale casual with lots of high end touches. Live jazz and some classic style harp music the evening we were there. We each had a cocktail, split about small plates, and did a dessert. There was not a bad dish in the bunch, but my wife and I agreed the stand-out was the Filet Mignon skewers. Delicious. Cooked perfectly with a wonderful parsley/onion garnish that made an amazing flavor combination. THE CONS: Only a few very minor things come to mind: The shrimp dish, while quite tasty, was a bit salty. A couple FYIs: The lighting, while it made for nice atmosphere, is a bit on the dim side for menu reading. Also, their fresh baked bread is wonderful, but it would be a real plus if it was complementary, because it really goes great with their food and dips. More is better. And to me this one's a head scratcher... in the dining room with moody lighting and classy music they had a big screen tv with ESPN on the whole time. To be fair, the sound was off, but if you were there to watch sports, they have a nice bar with two other screens in there. It was totally out of place in the main dining room. BOTTOM LINE: Yes. Absolutely Yes. It is great for date-night, or any other night when you want a comfortable high end dining experience. PRICE: Items range from about $20-$50 each. Our total was about $150

Dishes are presented in a way that encourages sharing, making the experience feel both communal and intentional. I've yet to have anything that disappoints. Their salads are among the best in the city--vibrant, balanced, and far from an afterthought--and the anchovy toast is nothing short of exceptional. It's the kind of place I'd bring out-of-town guests to showcase why Sacramento proudly carries the title of America's Farm-to-Fork Capital.

From the anchovy toast to the arancini to the pasta, it's all seasonally influenced and prepared with skill and care. The cocktails are great - if you like whiskey, try the Port of Rye. Magpie's also a very good option for vegetarians as there are always plenty of creative meatless options on the menu. Service has been uniformly very good for us. So why not five stars? Two reasons. The first is the noise. WHAT'S THAT? YOU CAN'T HEAR ME? I SAID IT'S THE NOISE!!! Of course, Magpie is hardly the only place in town in which you can barely hear yourself think through a meal, but it's a major strike against them. You're having a wonderful meal with good friends, but conversation is a problem, and that's a really big issue. Seems like it wouldn't be that hard to take it down a bunch of decibels by hanging some stuff off the ceiling? Anyway, it's way too loud in there. Second issue is the wine-by-the-glass list. Come on, Magpie, this is Northern California! While they get credit for spotlighting folks like Craig Haarmeyer on this list, it's ridiculous to have only three red wines on it. So a few less decibels and a few more wines by the glass and this place would be damn near perfect.

We did have to flag down another server a few times for quick questions, but it wasn't a big deal since we weren't in a rush. We started with their happy hour Justin Cabernet, which was flavorful and a great way to kick things off. For appetizers, we ordered the tuna poke nachos (with rice instead and no sauce), the giant pretzel, and the sweet and spicy shrimp--grilled instead of breaded to keep it gluten-free, which we really appreciated. What's frustrating isn't just the selection, but the missed potential. Not one veggie sandwich option. The stuffed peppers could easily have a meatless version; the Brussels sprouts didn't need bacon; the farmers market salad could offer prosciutto as an add-on rather than a default. Small tweaks, big difference. A little more intentionality here would go a long way. On the bright side, the bourbon flights are a real highlight, and the space itself is a win - open, airy, and flooded with natural light, making it perfect for happy hour. The gastro pub vibe is genuinely cool, and you can tell this place has a lot of potential. Meat eaters and whiskey fans will love it here. Vegetarians, though, will find themselves grazing on sides and calling it a meal.
