Pretty low end breakfast. I am of a mind that any cook who hears "over easy" and delivers BURNT! Should be fired for gross incompetence! The cook here is what we call a burner. Meaning he overcooks everything! The eggs were burnt and so were the potatoes. There was no seasoning on the potatoes, but they were edible. The eggs were not so I sent them back. They offered to remake them, but I won't give an incompetent cook a second chance to screw it up. The other big offense in a kitchen is improperly seasoning the food. They have deviled eggs with bacon crumbles on top, but they whipped something really offensive into the egg yolk filling. It was gross. I'll try lunch or supper here, but with breakfast so horribly screwed up, it doesn't look promising. Service was excellent in spite of the revolting food. read more

Still had to wait a bit to get that memo so would have appreciated a sign on the door or post on their social media since their social media only said "reservations recommended" It's street parking and relatively small with a patio. The husband and I treated my mom to a nice Sunday brunch recently at Casa and enjoyed our experience! Service was friendly and informative. Interior felt like you were dining in someone's home (in a good way!). And the food was tasty! We started off with the deviled eggs (no bacon) and they were perfect! I opted for the avocado toast which was on some delightful bread and had a fresh salad on top. The husband and mom both ordered the eggs benedict (husband went with salmon, mom went traditional) and they loved it! The husband doesn't even ordered eggs benedict normally and devoured it. Oh yeah, the mom also ordered a pizza once she saw the table behind us order it and we had a slice each but took most of it home. Was great! Overall, great brunch spot with excellent food. Decided to come here on a Sunday for brunch, and while my reservation was at 30 mins later than we arrived, we were able to be seated early and before the rush. I wanted to like the restaurant a lot, and while food was good, our service unfortunately was not. We sat on the patio when there were 2 other tables half way through their meals. We ordered a cinnamon role to start, and it was fine but not my favorite. The main dishes were brought out together, and while the breakfast pizza (not pictured) was steaming hot, my potatoes came out slightly cold. I ordered a coffee and it wasnt until our meal was done that they asked if I wanted a refill as our waitress seemed to be missing from the patio service area most of our time there. When we paid, it showed that it was $5 for coffee, which seemed pricey compared to other restaurant similar in nature and a very late refill. The last bit is that it took 15 minutes for us to get our check and a box for the left over pizza. I understand that it gets busy, but we had arrived when the restaurant was 75% empty and service was very delayed. read more

I'd also heavily suggest getting a reservation. This place isn't very big; not many people can be served. We came in for brunch with a reservation and were seated promptly. Our first part of our orders, the cinnamon roll came in. It was tough and hard. It took genuine effort to cut into it. That translated into the experience and mouth; it was hard to chew. The top was very cream cheese forward, with notes of brightness. My brunch pizza was ok. I was hoping it would be better. It was interesting, the potatoes were really hot and the other toppings were at a cooler temperature. It went for a surprise when everything was nice and warm and then biting into a potato was bam! The combination of flavors through the toppings were alright, nothing mind blowing. The crust was solid, the type with some char and crisp. The combo of the food and waiting a long time for service made for a time that left something to be desired. The pizza was so good. I did go on lunch so the menu was more limited but the pizza was very good. On lunch you order at the bar and they give you a number then bring the food to your table. My friend ordered some salad she didn't like it. I didn't try for myself. The bruschetta was very good. The ambiance is very cute and it's a vibe. I will definitely come back to try the dinner since I really like the pizza and the cute ambiance here. I also want to say there is no parking lot here you have to get parking on the street. I dropped by Casa East Sac during Sunday brunch time. I actually wasn't looking for brunch but they only had a brunch menu at the time so I went with it (not their bad). This is a nice cozy little restaurant. They have an outside dining area as well as inside. The ambiance and decor is quite nice. It has kind of a rustic, homey vibe, but also nice and clean. FOOD - deviled eggs: these were pretty good. They're topped with bacon. I think they had a touch of horseradish in them, which isn't what I'm normally accustomed to, but it was fine. Good. Not great. - Maximino pizza (red sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, oregano): The pizza here is reminiscent of Selland's. The crust is fairly thin except the edge which is fluffier. The goodness is probably in the same realm IMO. I think the amount of pepperoni was a bit much, so it ate a bit salty. The sauce was on the bright/acidic side. - Vic pizza (herbed ricotta, mozzarella, roasted mushrooms, white truffle oil): this pizza was reminiscent of the mushroom pizza at Obo. The touch of truffle oil is subtle enough to not overpower the rest of the dish. They had lots of Urban Roots beers on tap, which was nice since I happen to be a fan of theirs. I have dined at Casa East Sac many times for brunch, for lunch and for dinner. It's a hidden gem in East Sac. Street parking only and limited. Arrive early to park on residential street. I recommend making reservation in advance. Weekend brunch can get busy. They have a small covered patio. I saw someone had a private bridal shower in the patio and thought that was such a cute idea. I love EVERYTHING here. My go-to is the deviled eggs. Can't go wrong with breakfast with eggs but you must try their pancakes and waffles. I think they rotate their menu periodically. For lunch/dinner, we like to order their pizzas and a salad. Simple but so good! They are a small local business. Go support them whenever you can. read more

We came here late on Sunday for lunch and it was such a nice surprise. I wasn't sure what to get but when I heard about the steak and eggs special I had to go for it. The 8oz filet had black truffle on top and the eggs were poached perfectly. The steak was one of the best I had in a long time, I couldn't eat it all so I brought it home for my husband and he loved it two hours later. The pizza was also really great, we got the "kids" pepperoni and it was huge, the crust and pepperoni were both really good. I would love to come back for pizza sometime. Pops Pizza toppings were great but the whole center of the pizza was burnt and for thin crust, you can't "just scrape it off". The deviled eggs were barely edible (ratio of filling, and overly firm egg white). The beet salad was.... An arugula salad with a few hidden beets. Got hardly any beets! Finally the New York Strip steak. Ordered medium well for my daughter and she loved it. Fun local restaurant with great ambiance, welcoming and attentive service and a varied American - style menu. We shared the wedge salad which is a delicious twist on a traditional wedge. The dressing is a mild and creamy blue cheese. We also shared a white pizza which was good just not great. There is lots on the menu so we will be back for the pasta or chicken marsala. Went in for a couple glasses of wine and a pizza recently and overall was just disappointing. I've been here before with better experience, but this time was not good. The service was lackluster, bare minimum interaction and not super pleasant. The wine pours were maybe 4oz and that feels generous. The pizza was good, nothing to get excited about though it almost had too much cheese (which I realize sounds odd). They had music on a speaker that felt like a pandora electronic station that really didn't fit the vibe of the restaurant and then 2 tvs on one with soccer and one with a kids movie and the soccer had sound on. I found this gem located in East Sacramento neighborhood and parking is around residential area which is safe to walk around. The menu has amazing selections of salad, pizzas and great tasty appetizers. They have wine menu perfect pairing with the food. They have a patio area that was comfortable and pet friendly. A great way to start the day!!! I had a Chiliques dish and a cheese tamale on the side with a mocha. The Chiliques were different from the way I have been served before, but were very good. The tamale was one of the best I ever had. To smooth out the meal I had a mocha to enjoy ad I slowly went thru my breakfast. I sat next to the barista making various drinks and also saw plenty of dishes coming out of the kitchen, I will be back soon. I highly recommend coming before the noon rush hour. Casa East Sac definitely has the charm and quality of a locals favorite. Very inviting space, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is memorable. Parking can be a bit difficult though. We came for Sunday brunch and everything we ordered was solid. The pizza had a great crust and flavor, the French toast with strawberries was a crowd-pleaser (can share), and the shrimp cocktail was surprisingly fresh for a brunch menu in Sacramento. My one critique and the only reason this isn't 5 stars is the menu. I came in hoping for the pancakes I'd seen online, but they weren't on the menu that day. The offerings seem to rotate, which is fine, but it would be super helpful if the menu online matched what's actually available in-house. Small fix that would go a long way. Still, I'd gladly come back based on what I experienced. read more

Overall one of my favorite places to eat in the Sacramento area. Owners Steve and Teddy have worked extremely hard from the bottom of the industry to winning awards such as best bacon and best burger in Sacramento to building a solid brick and mortar restaurant. I would call their ever updating menu truly New American. With influence from all over Europe blended into some fantastic meals. One of my favorites is the simple roasted chicken. Incredible flavor, served hot and moist. A winner for me. Casa East Sac is most definitely worth giving and try, I'm pretty sure the service and food will bring you back. read more

Came for Saturday brunch (reservation). The place is quaint and more intimate. Our helping human, Alexis, was pretty dope also. Parking was alright (street), and check in was nice. Modest amount of seating overall, the chairs were comfortable and there was covered outdoor seating (we were seated inside). Now, the food stuff: Pricing: It's 2025, and we made a reservation, and this is California. Bacon: 4.5/5 - A side order is shareable, I appreciate the amount provided. It was crispy and not too greasy. Avocado Toast: 4.3/5 - No complaints, it was a lot happening on the toast itself, but was overall tasty. French Toast: I say 4/5, Friend leans 4.6/5 - Healthy portion (about 5 slices). It was different, and the choice of sourdough bread is...unique. It wasn't too sweet, which was appreciated. The toast was fine, a lot of berries and whipped cream. - my rating was a bit different, it is great in its own category, comparing it to other French toast is where I am left wanting for something. Maybe less slices and thicker cuts which would showcase the bread and the custard mix. Just a thought. Monte Cristo: 4.6/5 (Friend), 4.2/5 (me) - overall, this was a nice surprise option as it was not on the menu. Definitely a good portion. Ham was tender, bread was tasty. I appreciated it. - So this is where I had a question. The sandwich was good, the addition of mustard was...unique. It felt like it used to bring back the savory-ness of the dish, which worked. My focus was on the berry compote, which was good, it still felt as if something was missing that would complement the sandwich. The addition of the mustard (would could be the amount of mustard added) could've been highlighted by adding something extra to the compote. Like a berry lemon compote, or ramp up the sweetness with a fig jam. Overall, it was a nice visit. I highly recommend checking them out. Casa in East Sac is such a gem! We came for dinner with friends and decided to share a few appetizers and pizzas and I'm so glad we did because everything was really good. To start, we had the seasonal bruschetta, deviled eggs, and grilled artichoke. Each dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. I would say the artichoke was my favorite of the bunch. For pizzas, we went with the Genevieve (classic fresh tomato, basil, and mozzarella) and the Vic (mushroom with truffle oil). Both were standouts IMO. Service was also wonderful. Even though we had a reservation, we had to wait a little while for our table. The staff handled it with such kindness and were checking in with us often and even offering a complimentary glass of wine to make up for the delay. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy, which makes it perfect for a relaxed night out. Between the food, the service, and the vibe, Casa is a spot I'll absolutely be back to. Highly recommend! read more

I visited Casa East Sac for the first time today for brunch with 3 girlfriends and was blown away. First, I loved that we were able to make a reservation as that's frequently not an option for brunch at many Sacramento establishments. We were seated as soon as we arrived and the vibe both inside and outside this locally owned quaint little East sac place is great. The place was busy but didn't feel chaotic and the servers never made us feel rushed and took great care of us. For drinks, we just did coffee (be aware, they only have drip coffee and no milk alternatives but it was solid) and juice. The food was INCREDIBLE. While I'm not usually an avocado toast gal, I decided to do an avocado toast after seeing the server drop one off at another table as it looked so good (I added poached eggs to it just as that table had, which was a great call). The pickled veggies on top and freshness of the cucumber and all the vegetables and yummy bread, it was so so good and undoubtedly the best avocado toast I've ever had. We also got a French toast to split which also was great. Two of my girlfriends got the egg breakfast and my other girlfriend got the breakfast pizza (it was a steak pizza and she added eggs to it). Everything we ate was incredibly fresh and made with high quality ingredients (from delicious fresh baked bread for the side of toast to the strawberries on the French toast which were so so good). This is a cozy little spot! The inside is well decorated and comfortable. We got the Oliver pizza and meatballs to share (good amount for about 2 people). The server was very kind and attentive. The food also came out fast. For dessert we had the chocolate chip cookie with sea salt, tiramisu, and chocolate French pudding. The cookie is exactly what it sounds like and yummy. Wow! This place is a hidden gem that I didnt even know about for being a block away. Will be booking our team meeting there soon. Food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and so filling!! Service was good! Sauces great! Ambiance and environment was relaxing and fun! Cons: I always dislike restaurants that serve a can of soda and charge what most places charge with refills. I wouldn't mind it if they at least offered one more can with dinner. Towards the end of dinner service slumped a little as they were closing up - I had to ask for water - just a pet peeve of mine. Cute inside but not super kid friendly. Been meaning to stop by since there Sac Bee article. I'm a pizza connoisseur and have pretty much rated all the good pies in the areas. Unfortunately, this is not one. It quite soggy and just turns into a bit of a squishy salt bomb. The crust has some sourdough or fermented flavor, which the server didn't know much about (7.3) I think they could make it if they tweak their overall style, to make it more casual and family friendly. Also, Figuring out the pizza, trying to get that One Speed quality is tough but it's basically the same style. It looks good for brunch though.
