    Sausage breakfast Sandwich
    Blanche M.

Recently visited on a week day, and it was busy! For brunch we wait about 20 min for a table of 4. Make sure you have everyone in your party there once you are called, or else you will not be seated. Parking can get hard to find especially during peak hours. This place was packed! After our wait, we were tended to immediately. Our party ordered a few items, and the wait for our food was a bit long. Although everything was good, I felt like it could be better. The hot chicken sandwich wasn't hot at all, and the sausage breakfast sandwich was a lot with the biscuit. All in all, we enjoyed our visit.

Happened to be in the area a couple weeks ago so we had to try it given all the hype we've heard about it. Let me say we were not disappointed. The food was delicious: I had the pear and pecan French toast and my wife had fried green tomatoes egg Benedict which she found super yummy. Their multiple line check-in and wait system where you line up again in a separate line once texted, process is an admittedly a bit clunky but I also surprisingly found it be very efficient. We went in on a Friday mid-morning and the wait for 2 was only about 15-20 minutes. I was blown away by how nice it was on the inside, it's a lot bigger and more modern than you would expect from seeing it on the outside. I'd say there are about roughly 25-35 tables combined inside and outside, so don't be discouraged if the line looks long. I promise it's not the hole in the wall it seems on the outside - it's really roomy on the inside! The food also comes out SUPER quick and the wait staff is super attentive and friendly. The only thing that I didn't quite understand was their pricing on their brewmosa. It's listed as $10 and it includes a PBR and only a splash of OJ but if purchased separately full cup of OJ and a can of PBR they're listed at $4 a piece. So I was a little bit confused and asked the waiter who was equality admittedly puzzled. I ended up buying the separate items and making my own brewmosa. I will say it was quite delicious! Their OJ is freshly squeezed which is a big big plus! Anyways I would highly recommend this place and we hope to be back soon if we find ourselves back in the area!

Service was great! It was triple digits and a pretty long line, but everything kept moving! Very well organized and they kept pushing people in! If you're a couple, or alone, sit at the bar! You'll get seated so much faster and you get to watch the hustle and bustle up close and personal! Our waitress was great! Super quick and attentive! My coffee never stayed empty! Needed it from the concert from the night before! The decor was modern farm-ish! Really cool spot! My wife got the "Kitchen sink" and killed it with the dishes! (What she could! It was large!) I got the benny and that was large! They do it on super thick brioches! There was some confusion in the kitchen with my order request, but my waitress got it handled right away! I had it for a late breakfast and I couldn't eat anymore all day! Have to try their pancakes or waffles next time! We'll be back! Great spot!

Second time here and cant rave enough of how good the service, food and overall atmosphere is! Heather is an amazing server. The chicken and waffles was buttery, tender and just out of this world good! If your ever near Sacramento this place is a must

Food on point with nice range of offerings, solid drink menus of varying flavors and combinations, service was great, and nice spot overall. Only recommendation would be to use the Yelp line function that allows you to get in line and avoid waiting in person.

I have no idea why I never wrote a Yelp review for Bacon & Butter because I have dined here at least a dozen time since I moved to Sacramento 10+ years ago. We used to always come in a group of 8-10 and someone always make reservation. I think back then they would take reservation for large parties. Not sure if they still do it now. So, I don't remember ever having to wait that long until.... Mother's Day! Yep, I know...I know...it was a badddd idea to come on Mother's Day and I will never make that mistake again if I can help it. My sweet son arrived at around 10:30 AM to put his name down on the list and was told we should be seated at around noon time. Great! I took my time and arrived at around 11:45 AM. Long story short, we didn't get seated until 1:15 PM. We were standing outside the entire time trying our best to stay in the shade. They were going to seat us outside in 85 degree afternoon heat. My son told him that he had put down for an inside table. The waiter was like you might have to wait another 10 minutes and I was about to lose it. The 5 of us squeezed in a booth that was meant for 4 people inside! We just wanted to eat and get it over with. Without a doubt, food is great and quality is consistent here but is it worth the ridiculous long wait??? Fortunately, the food came very quickly. Pear & Pecan French Toast is still my favorite. Brioche toast mixed with whipped cream and caramel sauce. It's the best breakfast dessert. If you prefer savory, I recommend the omelet for the huge portion. If you want both sweet and savory, definitely go with Chicken Waffle. If you (B&B) have read this far, I beg you to start taking reservations. You can have customers put credit card down to hold the reservation and charge $15-20 per person for no show!

The food here was pretty good. I tried the Denver omelette which wasn't the best (too much onion and peppers) but I tasted my husbands hot chicken sandwich which wasn't AMAZING. The service was good and it was cleanly decorated.

After hearing so much about this restaurant being arguably the best Breakfast / Brunch location in Sacramento, me, my girlfriend and my cousin were really excited to visit this place! The wait was about an hour-ish for us which seemed pretty standard for a breakfast-restaurant with great reputation. Though MANY items on their menu sounded delicious, my party and I ended up getting the grilled cheese benedict, breakfast burrito, pear & pecan french toast, alongside with the bacon chocolate chip cookie and chocolate tres leches bread pudding. The grilled cheese benedict was not really what I was expecting. It tasted a little average with the slices of bread feeling very crunchy with their hollandaise tasting a little underwhelming. The potatoes were pretty plain but the overall rating for this item was a 3/5 for me. The pear & pecan french toast was pretty good, though it was fairly large I felt like I didn't get the same sort of presentation of both the grilled cheese & french toast as I seen on social media. Though I only had a bite of my cousin's burrito I'd say it was pretty good! As for the bacon chocolate chip cookie and chocolate tres leches bread pudding (not pictured), we found our cookie to be fairly burnt and not enjoyable whereas the bread pudding was really delicious! Though our service was good, I can't really agree or say that the food here makes this restaurant the #1 here in Sacramento, maybe I'll give this place another go in the future but other than that this place was just OK for me.

When I told people this week, I was going to Bacon & Butter, they all reacted the same. "OMG ur going to love it" and "OMG it's so good" or something to that effect. As a result, my reactions were fairly high. We didn't have to wait very long, which was nice, especially since that was the main complaint of those who had been previously. I was told to not go on the weekend because the wait times can be insane. Such a travesty that places do not do reservations. It was kind of wild that we had to wait at all on a weekday morning.  When I spotted the cinnamon roll on the menu, I knew we had to try it. It was light on the frosting, which normally isn't my jam, but the coating/ crystallization on the roll itself was yummy. Huge portion size.  We split the breakfast burrito which came with the house chorizo, cheesy scrambled egg, cheddar cheese skirt, potato, hot sauce, and a pasilla pepper crema. The pepper crema was delicious, and the creaminess was perfect with the potatoes.  The potatoes that came with the sandwich were my favorite part of the meal. I enjoyed the counter set up with so many counter seats and big table.

    Kitchen sink so good.

We found this place on Yelp. Great choice after our 3 day girls trip. It was 12 of us and it was a short line when we got there. They told us it will be an hour wait to see us together. While we discuss amongst each other, maybe trying another place. The staff was like give me a second. Let me check something out. He asked if we want to sit on the patio that he could accommodate us faster. It was a beautiful day, so why not. We seated orders were taken fast. Drinks came really quick. I mean these people got it going on. The food was excellent. I have the Chicken& Waffles with the fig syrup. Even though I asked for regular syrup, I end up eating the fig syrup. It was so good. This was a really great choice and I plan to bring my husband back. A few of the ladies got the kitchen sink and man was it good. Someone also got the peach French toast and they said it was the bomb. The potato chunks were huge, but they were crispy and tender. I'm glad we choose this place. Yummy!

Our waiter was very kind but was not as attentive as I'd hope when it comes to checking in on us. This place gets busy so it just seems like everyone's running around everywhere. As far as the food it was delicious. I was just disappointed because I asked for light cheese and it actually looks like they put extra LOL Overall, a spot with good and free parking (what i love) but it gets pretty loud in there with how busy it gets. I prefer something more chill, me not having to raise my voice to talk across the table. Next time I'll take the food to go.

Great service! Love the experience and the check in system you give them your number and they send you a link to show your place in line as well as their top menu items for you to see! The food was amazing I got the chicken and waffles and my wife had the breakfast burrito it was delicious and it's big so it's definitely enough to take home and eat later. We will definitely be back when we come to Sacramento!

Food was mediocre for brunch, could have gone to other places for better food. They were very busy so long wait about 2 hours and when seated, staff took awhile to get to you or come back to check on you for refillsz

Can you check in before getting there?

No, you would have to be there in person in order to be put on the waitlist

Do people pay at the counter? If not, do you split the check for one table?

The servers come up to you and you can split to a certain amount b it you'd have to ask

Are mimosa and bloody Mary's available?

Last time I was there they did have mimosas available

    Are dogs welcomed?

Yes. They have outside seating area.

I see B&B is not on DD or any other delivery services, many times I only have time to stop and go so you have any call in or walk up take out?

The last time I went, which was a few months ago. I had to order online because they don't take orders on the phone.

    Is the outdoor patio heated?

    Yes there is

    Do they take reservations?

    They do not

What are the current vegan options? Do they have nondairy yogurt for the Bee Pollen available? That was my favorite!

They do not have vegan yogurt however they do have some vegan options available. There are not many options for vegans but I would recommend they communicate with the server at the time of their visit and depending on seasonal produce available…

What is the average wait time for a Sunday post Covid? I know pre Covid it could be a wait.

If you get there right at or right before opening no wait. If you are there 10 min after opening be prepared to wait for the first wave of diners to eat and pay before you can get in.

    Are there gluten free options?

You can make many of the dishes gluten free but they did not have gluten free bread options, specifically, when we were there.

    Can we make reservations?

No. It is first come, first served.

Are dogs allowed in the outdoor dining area?

    Yes

Have they opened indoor seating yet?

    Yes

Will your restaurant be open for indoor dining when the state opens back up on June 15? Or, any plans for indoor dining even if at limited capacity? Thank you!

    Currently open, yes

Is your outdoor seating dog friendly?

    Yes

    Is it dine in now?

Hello! Thank you for your question! We are currently providing outdoor dining, to-go, walk-up orders, and delivery through DoorDash. We hope to resume dining indoors as soon…

Are they open for inside or outside dining?

Hello Troy! Yes, we have 5 large tables outside set up for patio dining. Our plans are to add more patio seating in the future. Thank you for your inquiry and I hope you have…

What are wait times like on the weekends? I want to bring my family of 6 next weekend but have little ones and see you don't do reservations for parties less than 8.

Wait times can vary based on a number of factors (time of day, number in party, but the holidays, weather, etc)…

Are alcoholic drinks available during the week? I see mimosas in the pictures, but no info on the website about when they're available.

Yea they are. Every weekend they change the menu also.

How often do the menu items change? Including the stuff on the blackboard

Always seasonal and the blackboard can be daily.

The restaurant itself was already VERY loud, with customers talking, laughing, and enjoying themselves. We actually appreciated the atmosphere because, as parents of a toddler, it made us feel more comfortable dining there as a family. Shortly after receiving our food, my toddler became upset and started crying. The OWNER approached my husband and asked him to REMOVE OUR CHILD FROM THE RESTAURANT. My husband, being the respectful person he is, complied and took her outside. At first, I was confused about why he had suddenly left until he called me and explained what the owner had told him. We had JUST received our food. At that point, I asked our server to remove the untouched items from our bill. I made it clear that I was more than willing to pay for anything we had already touched or consumed, but I was not comfortable continuing to give my business to an establishment whose owner had just asked my husband to remove our toddler. The owner then approached me, and I explained how inappropriate and upsetting I found the situation, especially considering how loud the restaurant already was. I could barely hear my own daughter over the overall noise in the restaurant. Her response was that "people were looking at me," which is why she asked my husband to take our daughter OUTSIDE. That response was extremely disappointing. She is a TODDLER. Toddlers sometimes cry. We were not allowing her to run around the restaurant, destroy anything, or behave dangerously. She was simply upset and crying. If noise was truly the issue, then why was our child singled out in an already extremely loud restaurant? What makes the experience even more uncomfortable is that we already felt we were greeted rudely by our first server. I do want to recognize the gentleman who was calling names for the tables. He was very kind and welcoming, and I appreciated his professionalism. As for the owner, I am extremely disappointed that someone who owns a restaurant would treat paying customers and their child this way. Families with young children deserve to know what kind of environment they are walking into. If children, or the normal behavior that occasionally comes with having toddlers are not welcome in your establishment, that should be clearly communicated to customers before they sit down and order food. We will not be returning, and I hope no other family is made to feel as unwelcome and embarrassed as ours was today.
