    Good pastry and delicious cocoa
    Dan W.

A quaint, independent coffee place located in an alley. The design inside looks very worldly, but also factory vibes. Some easy going international music playing....just overall relaxed vibe. We came here as it was near noon, we hadn't eaten yet on a Sunday, and our brunch spot had an hour wait. We thought get something to hold us over, and kill some time. Two birds, one stone. The young woman working the counter was very friendly. My wife got a chai latte, cold, and I ordered the hot chocolate and a danish. I won't "rage" about a basic hot chocolate, but..... Unlike other coffee shops, chain or otherwise, this had an actual good balance of burning hot, yet creamy and chocolatey. If your inner child kicks in, definitely try their hot cocoa. The danish was good....light and airy pastry, and the fruit in the middle was tart. They also have specials which are actual full meals, but unable to comment on those. For a hot drink and pastry, though... definitely recommend

Good coffee, service was not great. I've been going to Old Soul for many years, I use to work across the street so I would go often. I live out of state now and I was so excited to go back, the coffee was good but the service was horrible. Walked up with my husband and the only employee there who also happened to be the barista looked quite bothered that we were even there. She was not welcoming and seemed annoyed, we ordered our drinks and honestly really enjoyed them. Will we be back? Yes, but just had this bad experience.

So. . .I met a friend here to catch up and we had a decent experience. She ordered a mocha latte and I ordered a lavender latte. We also ordered the greens salad. We got our drinks fairly quickly, but it took 25 minutes for us to get our salad with no meat. That was a little disappointing given that it was just a salad and also, someone else ordered after us but received their food before we did. We ran out of time and ended up having to take our salads to go. My friend really liked her mocha latte, but my lavender latte did not really have the lavender flavor in it and the salads were just OK. I'm not sure if they were shortstaffed and things were rushed, but I can't say that I was impressed. It's a super cute spot, but the energy was different. The customer service was just OK. Not super friendly, but not rude either. It gave the energy of "tired". Our experience was pretty mediocre, but I do plan on checking it out again. We talk about first impressions being important but sometimes it takes a second visit to really get the true feel of a place so I will definitely try it again and make an overall decision at that time.

Old Soul Co. is a great coffee and breakfast spot with a relaxed, welcoming vibe. I had the chai latte, which was full of flavor and perfectly balanced--not syrupy at all. For food, I ordered the veggie sando on a house-made biscuit, and it was really nice--fresh, satisfying, and well made. The kids had the grilled cheese, which was absolutely mouth-watering and a big hit. Overall, a solid spot for quality drinks and comforting breakfast food. During busy times hard to find a table. We have also tried another location in Fairoaks which was equally good

First time in my life that I've had a breakfast sandwich served on a biscuit. Feel like I've been missing out. I had their carnitas breakfast sandwich - biscuit was flaky and very tasty, carnitas very flavorful and the aioli not over powering. My wife loves their coffee and this time had a vanilla latte with oat milk. My chocolate croissant was served cold (should have asked them to warm it up). Great service and food. Fantastic neighborhood coffee spot.

The last time I did a review was in 2015. A lot has changed since then. My husband used to stop in regularly and get pastries for his office. He'd literally buy them out. We really enjoyed their pastries for years. Since then we've moved and it's not on our way to work and home any more. They are located in a back alley and if you don't know about them you may not see them. Lots of people have discovered them as there is always people milling around inside. It used to be mainly a coffee shop. Now they sell lots of lunch like foods such as salads, sandwiches, and pizza. Pizza is defiantly a new addition. They have a separate sign for there pizza selections. They also sell beer now. I'm not sure if that includes wine too. I'll look next time for you. They also serve root beer floats and coffee over ice cream. We always walk so parking isn't an issue for us. There is a lot next to them so I'm thinking you can park there for a fee. They don't have there own personal lot. Or Street parking as they are in an alley.

I stopped by Old Soul Co. on a weekday morning and tried their latte, which was simple, well-made, and really enjoyable! The drink was not too heavy, and the cozy atmosphere made it a great place to enjoy this cup of coffee. Service was friendly, and there were many people enjoying their morning here.

Was working close by And wanted to grab some breakfast. The place was nice and staff was fine. Ordered biscuits and gravy. The food was pretty good but I would have expected maybe a second biscuit or a little more food for paying over $15. One biscuit and egg and a piece of bacon seems more like a snack

I'm obviously late to the party, but I'm just now realizing the blessing of coffee shop meet ups. Yes meeting over drinks can be fun, but there is nothing like having a clear mind and chatting over a nice cup of Jane with a good playlist in the background. That is the exact experience that I had when meeting up with a friend/colleague to discuss career options. For years I have heard great things about and wanted to visit Old Soul Company; therefore, I was elated when she suggested that we meet at this location. Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted by the sounds of 90's-early 2000's R&B and Hip Hop (my favorite), the sounds of laughter, and a barista waiting to take our order. Since I had a caffeinated coffee earlier that day, I elected to order a decaffeinated cappuccino with brown sugar. Five minutes later our orders were ready. I'm not a coffee enthusiasts by any standards; however, I will say that this cappuccino tasted like it was made with love (flavorful)! My wife swears by their food and was slightly disappointed that I did not try it. However, being that the establishment is in close proximity to my office, I will definitely make a return visit in the near future!

first time coming here, and I enjoyed it a lot! All of the employees are so kind and I was unsure on what to order and received a recommendation I liked. There is a variety of food and beverages, coffee beans/grounds for sale, and nice seating. I stumbled across this location and stopped by before my hair appointment, and safe to say I will be coming back again.

Old Soul is one of those cafés that nails both the coffee and the community atmosphere. Located right downtown, it has a warm, local feel that's perfect for a morning pick-me-up or an afternoon catch-up session. The coffee was rich and flavorful, and they offer a solid selection of breakfast sandwiches and pastries, everything is always so fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Service was friendly and fast. I loved the relaxed vibe...people chatting quietly, catching up on emails, or reading. They also offer beer and wine later in the day, which adds a fun twist to the usual coffee shop scene. If you're looking for a spot with charm, great drinks, and a real sense of local community, Old Soul is a top pick.

Almond Croissant $7.50 - I don't remember what this tasted like so it must've been standard. Matcha Croissant $9 - Don't let the price deter you because for $9, you get a big filling croissant and it was honestly so delicious. The dipped part was like a white chocolate matcha and the inside matcha filling was so good. I don't know how but I fridged it and ate it the next day, IT WAS STILL CRISPY! This was the highlight and highly recommend getting it. Blueberry Choux $11 - This was also really good too. The blueberry filling was creamy and delicious. It tasted really fresh. Macarons $2.95 each - Standard stuff. I got a Thai coconut cream and this is a flavor I haven't seen before and recommend trying it! In summary, highly recommend trying this place. The ordering process was smooth, and the décor is gorgeous, making it a really inviting place to spend some time. I enjoyed the bakery so much that I came back a week later to try lunch. Unfortunately, that's where things took a turn. I ordered the burger, and someone in my party had the salmon burger. Both were incredibly bland. It honestly tasted like no salt or seasoning had been added at all. If you prefer very lightly seasoned food, this might be right up your alley, but it just wasn't for me. The iced tea also comes unsweetened, so keep that in mind if you're expecting sweet tea. One small thing that could also be improved is the ordering setup. There are separate lines for the bakery and the kitchen, but when it gets busy it can be a little confusing--especially since you order first and then find a seat. Overall, I'd absolutely return for the pastries, cakes, and drinks. The bakery side is outstanding. As for lunch, though, it left me wanting a lot more flavor.

The iced vanilla lattes were really good. The pastries were the highlight. The almond pain au chocolat was perfectly flaky, and the filling was absolutely delicious. The very berry pastry was my favorite. The cream was light, fresh, and had just the right amount of sweetness, and the fruit on top tasted fresh and sweet. The hash brown bread with ham and cheese was very dense and filling, making it a great savory option. I loved the self-serve pastry setup and appreciated how large the bakery selection was. While some items looked a little fresher than others, there was still plenty to choose from, and everything we picked was delicious. The bakery itself was very clean with plenty of comfortable seating, and I noticed they even offer WiFi, making it a nice place to work, catch up with someone, or just enjoy a coffee. It was fairly busy and a little noisy, but there were still plenty of open seats. Parking was also easy thanks to the large parking lot. The only downside was the service. The staff wasn't unfriendly, but they also weren't especially welcoming. I also had trouble hearing the employee calling out completed drinks, so I ended up waiting around 10 minutes. It's possible our coffees were ready sooner, but I didn't want to crowd the pickup area. Our total came to about $30 for two coffees and three pastries, which felt reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Overall, this was a great first experience, and I'd definitely stop by again the next time I'm craving a coffee and pastry.

However, when I bit into my croquette and garlic frank, they were still cold inside. Since I had requested them to be toasted, I expected them to be warm all the way through. I called the store afterward to ask what their standard procedure for toasting items is. The employee I spoke with told me that it "just depends on the worker and how they toast it." That response didn't make sense to me. I would expect there to be a consistent standard for preparing food, especially when a customer specifically requests it to be toasted. the attitude I received came across as very much "I don't care,"
