The protein always hits home with strong burst of flavor and is piping hot in the best way possible. After coming here for about a year, I continue to discover new items. Highly highly recommend to everyone looking for a good restaurants in general.

The lighting is warm and intentional, creating an intimate, upscale vibe without feeling pretentious. Whether you're on a romantic date or just catching up with friends, the beautiful interior design--complete with subtle traditional accents and modern elegance--sets the perfect stage for a memorable meal. For dinner I kept it classic with the Aloo Gobi and Basmati Rice, and it was executed to perfection. The cauliflower was tender yet retained a slight crunch, and the potatoes were buttery soft. The rice was incredible fragrant, fluffy, and served in a generous portion. It was the ideal canvas for the rich flavors of the Gobi. The service was impeccable--attentive but never hovering. It's rare to find a spot where the visual beauty of the space matches the quality of the kitchen, but this place nails it. I'll definitely be returning to explore more of the menu soon! I recommend Banana Leaf!

The free hotel breakfast only goes so far. I noticed there was an Indian restaurant that offered a lunch buffet, all you can eat for around $20 per person. The place was called Bombay Tandoori & Banquet. It's address is on the PCH Highway 1, but I needed the GPS to guide me there. There's no parking on Highway 1 so you need to turn into a driveway and find parking. The inside is very nice, kind more upscale than some Indian restaurants I've been to. I see there is a buffet and we get seated. Five for the buffet please ... drink orders are taken. The server is very pleasant. I like buffets for lunch with the crew, cause we don't have to spend a lot of time doing lunch, like we did at Cheesecake Factory one time! The food was all very nice and the buffet was clean. I got my Tandoori Chicken and Tikka Masala over the basmati rice. I know, I'm not that adventurous when it comes to Indian food, but I like what I like and the crew has all they want here. The restaurant is an old coffee shop and doesn't quite match the cuisine. The food is the best Indian food in the South Bay IMO. The boneless chicken biryani is consistently delicious. It is well spiced and has a mild kick. It comes with a yogurt to cool the mouth. It is visually colorful and appealing as well. It's a must order. The saag (spinach) curry is a bit creamier than I'm used to but very tasty. The andhra chicken is very flavorful and awakens all of your senses. Beware it has a spicy punch (but you knew the job was dangerous when you took it). The aloo gobi (cauliflower and potato curry) is delicious with nice texture. They are known for their dosa (enormous bread with variety of dips), which make for a nice appetizer to share with friends. All in all a go-to Indian restaurant for me. Don't expect to be pampered though as the service can be a little rough at times. Seems like it's a bit slow in terms of getting the food; for that, matter getting a menu takes a few requests at times.

We got the mild spicy chicken momos and the medium spicy chickpea curry (channa masala). If I could redo it, I'd probably switch the spice levels, go medium on the momos and mild on the chickpeas. The curry had a real kick, and I think milder would pair better with rice for smoother sailing. Overall, the food met our expectations. Interestingly, the momos actually tasted better the second day, the sauce felt more balanced after sitting overnight. We'd order from them again. Not a top-tier, must-save spot, but solid and dependable. My only real complaint is the garlic naan, $4.50 for about 1.5 smaller pieces felt skimpy. At that price, two full pieces would feel more reasonable. Naan is kind of foundational, like an Italian restaurant being stingy with bread. It just leaves a slightly off first impression.

For drinks I had the cucumber mint lemonade. It's their newest drink. So delicious! It's cold, refreshing, and delivers a burst of flavor in your mouth. A must try! For food I had the chicken tikka masala (mild), half rice, and garlic naan. They also give you a small side salad. The garlic naan was the best I've ever had. So moist and not burnt like a lot of other places. You can easily pull it apart with your fingers as it screams, "eat me! eat me!", with delight. The chicken tikka masala's flavor was amazing! I like to try things mild first to see how they taste. Some places serve bland food and mask it with spiciness. Not here. The flavor is all there. Next time I think I'm going to adventure on the wild side and try the medium and then possibly the spicy. The included salad was simple yet so satisfying. The dressing is definitely unique and packs a punch with the spice level but... I like it. *wink* *wink* hahhaa. The rice was perfection. I hate it when it's not cooked enough and too mushy or overcooked and hard. Originally I was going to eat half tonight and then the other half tomorrow but... I know myself. I would just go to bed, wake up in the middle of the night thinking about it, then not be able to go back to sleep until I finished the rest because it would keep calling my name from the kitchen. Hahahaha. I didnt get to see the inside because I got it to go but I'll let you guys know in an update. The staff there is great and they seem like a very nice family. As I've always said, I'm a huge supporter of family businesses. I'm soooo happy I gave this place a shot. I am not only coming back, I'm definitely going to have them cater some of my parties. Enjoy!

They're thick, they're flavorful, they hit you with the right spice. Normal spice is a white man's medium high so they got their base down which is more than half the battle. They cook the Paneer just right. And really enjoyed the Bartha! That The not so good: the chicken is way overcooked, I don't know if it's breast or thigh, but it definitely tasted like a dried out breast. Possibly using the tandoori and just dropping it into the gravy, but a perfectly cooked chicken thigh would take the chicken tikka masala to the moon. Second, the Paneer portion size was a joke. Maybe six cubes in the whole deal. Needs to be at least double. I'm ready to try again you gotta protect your meats!

Al Hamra Kabob Grill is a restaurant run by a Pakistani owner, specializing in kebabs and grilled…read moremeats inspired by Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. The menu also features traditional Pakistani, Persian, and Arabic dishes, such as Beef Nihari and Haleem. After several visits, here are my thoughts on some of their grilled meats and desserts. Beef Kofta - 3/5. The kofta was a bit dry and tough. I wish it had more fat and seasoning to make it juicier and more flavorful. The grilling is also somewhat inconsistent--sometimes the kofta comes out beautifully browned, while other times it's over-charred. Grilled Fish - 4/5. This is easily my favorite item on the menu and, in my opinion, their best dish. The fish is seasoned just enough to enhance its natural flavor without overpowering it. It's grilled very well, developing a beautiful golden-brown crust while remaining moist and tender inside. Beef Shish Kebab - 3.5/5. The quality of the beef is decent, especially considering the price. Given the cut of meat they use, they've done a commendable job with the grilling. The beef has a solid seasoning base and a nice sear with just enough char to add flavor without becoming overly smoky. It's reasonably tender, though I wish it retained a bit more juiciness. Chicken Shish Kebab - 3.5/5. Very similar to the beef shish kebab. It has good flavor and is grilled well, but it could benefit from being a little juicier. Gyro - 2/5. Unfortunately, this was the biggest disappointment. The gyro meat on the vertical spit often appears to be rotating without enough heat to properly caramelize and crisp the exterior. As a result, the meat comes across as dry, rubbery, and lacking the rich roasted flavor that makes a great gyro. Kunafa (Knafeh) - 3/5. This dessert has both strengths and weaknesses. The cheese filling has a pleasant, slightly salty flavor and a creamy texture, and I appreciate that it isn't overly sweet. However, the syrup is underwhelming. A good kunafa should be generously coated with a fragrant sugar syrup - ideally infused with rose water or orange blossom water - to provide sweetness and aroma. I also wish the kataifi, the shredded pastry dough, were crispier and lighter to create a better contrast with the gooey cheese filling. Overall, Al Hamra Kabob Grill is one of the better places to enjoy Middle Eastern-style grilled dishes in the South Bay. While a few menu items could be improved, the grilled fish stands out as excellent, and the shish kebabs are solid choices. The owner is also incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a warm, neighborhood atmosphere that keeps customers coming back. It's not perfect, but it's a restaurant I enjoy visiting from time to time and one I'd recommend if you're craving grilled Middle Eastern flavors.
