    Fish fry. Excellent

We very much enjoyed the food here. We tried to pin down the waitress / hostess On what food would be best to order as they have an "all of India" type of menu and usually they specialize in one thing but We actually did order a lot of different things, focusing on the South Indian foods. One highlight was the chicken paratha and fish fry (picture) which is done in South Indian style and a different way than I've ever had. One negative was they are understaffed as stated in other reviews. But I'm not talking them a star for that.

I want to give 5 out of 5 because the food and service was SO SO good!!!!! Seated quickly, treated nicely , amazing food !!! I just wish I had more to eat for the price. I left still hungry. The restaurant has changed since the last time I was there. No more mirrors and booths in the main room. The colors and improvements were still beautiful. 4 out of 5 because the amazing food inspired me to go to OTHER Indian restaurants to see if I can get the same taste but a little more for the price- instead of coming back to this same spot again and again. If the portions were bigger, I wouldn't shop around for other places. I'm a person of habit. Over all - amazing experience and excited to try a new Indian spot this week to compare.

This place was interesting. Came here with a large group (8 people). The staff was very nice and very attentive (a little too attentive). We ordered our drinks and in multiple instances, they either forgot or misremebered or didn't get our drinks right. We had one server, then it was switched and it was very confusing. The food ordering was also chaotic. We distinctly asked for saag paneer..and thought we confirmed it with the host only to find out it was never ordered and we had to put in another order which added more wait time The highlights was the lamb vindaloo, very excellent. The rest was decent. The garlic naan was good and the overall dishes were good including the lamb biryani. The service was overall inconsistent, confusing and sometimes overbearing. They kept trying to take out plates when we still had food coming to the table. Like why would you try and take it when we have food coming? At least check with the waiter to know if we're done with our orders. I understood the intention to clean and take our plates but when we didn't even get all our food and being asked or almost having our silverware taken is kind of a bit annoying. Overall the experience was a bit underwhelming. If the service was better and consistent. I think I'd recommend this place. But for now it made me feel a bit apprehensive.

The ultimate Pongal O Pongal spread, served with love!

This review is exclusively about a special event lunch organized by the restaurant to celebrate the South indian harvest festival Pongal on January 17th & 18th, 2026. ~ ~ We had an exceptionally amazing dining experience yesterday at Copper Pot's Pongal special lunch! This visit was completely unplanned. We were about to order takeout on Uber Eats when we noticed the Pongal lunch flyer from Copper Pot. (Check images) When we called, reservations had already closed and they had only a few walk-in spots left, but they kindly asked us to arrive 15 minutes before the start time so they could accommodate us. Having had a terribly disappointing "traditional" Pongal lunch experience at another nearby restaurant earlier, we were understandably skeptical, but we're so glad we gave it a chance. Missing this would have meant missing something truly memorable. From the moment we sat down, it felt truly special, a traditional multi-course Pongal feast served the authentic way on a banana leaf, just as it should be. The experience was made even more special by Ilaiyaraaja sir's timeless 80s and early 90s classics playing in the background, pure nostalgia and soul food for foodies and music lovers like us. We learned this was the very first time the restaurant hosted such a special event, yet the attention to detail, smooth organization, and genuine warmth made it feel like they had been perfecting it for years. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming and super attentive, accommodating even the smallest requests with genuine care. It wasn't just our stomachs that were full by the end, our hearts were too as it filled with appreciation and gratitude. Big shout out to their chef Taj and the restaurant's lifeline Judy, and their wonderful associates. To top it all off, it was lovely bumping into our friends there and spending time together after lunch, wandering around the scenic spots of Palos Verdes & San Pedro till sunset and ending the evening back at Copper pot to enjoy their most popular south indian filter coffee with our friends, it was the perfect ending to a perfect day. #PongalSpecial #BananaLeafMeal #UnplannedJoy

We've eaten there several times and enjoyed all the food at each visit. I have to eat gluten free and the Dosas are great gluten free crepes. Great extensive menu, especially if you have dietary restriction. The menu items are clearly marked as to whether they're gluten free, dairy free, vegan or nut free. Service is quick and efficient.

Amazing food,I so delicious and savory "food for the soul", I call it. They masala salmon superb. And the house made nam yummy. My Favorite is their brunch. And the ... If I tell you a secret. THE BEST COFFEE IEVER HAD..INDIAN STYLE. Service is slow due to busy take out. So come enjoy the food and stay to savor your meal.

I've been here before, but this visit was a completely different experience. On my last trip, I stuck mostly to the non-veg dishes, but this time I decided to dive deep into the South Indian specialties--and I'm so glad I did. It's rare to find a place that meets high standards on all accounts, but Copper Pot nails it, from their filling non-veg dishes to these purely authentic South Indian flavors. The entire meal had a genuine vibe that felt remarkably close to home. The Food Highlights Tomato Onion Chili Uthappam: This was the absolute standout. The batter had that perfect fermented tang, topped generously with fresh tomatoes, onions, and just the right amount of chili heat. It was golden and crisp on the edges while staying soft and airy in the middle. Podi Idli: These were fantastic--soft, pillowy idlis tossed in a flavorful, spicy lentil podi with a great nutty crunch. Authentic Sambar & Fresh Coconut Chutney: The sides really proved the authenticity here. The sambar was rich and aromatic, and the coconut chutney tasted incredibly fresh, providing the perfect cooling balance to the spices. Kumbakonam Filter Coffee: You can't leave without trying this. Served in the traditional style, it has that bold, frothy, soul-warming flavor that is hard to find done right. Verdict: Whether you are going for the hearty non-veg options or the traditional South Indian staples, the quality is consistent and the flavors are spot on. It was a 5-star experience that truly hit the spot. I'll definitely be back!

Tasty food. Very polite and kind staff. This is our favorite Indian food spot in the area. The owner is so sweet to us every time we come. Food-wise, the spice level is on point. My kids love the butter chicken and garlic naan. Venture away from the norm and try lamb or other tasty flavors at their recommendation. My (under 10 year old) son wanted me to say "I've never been to a better place" - and he's eaten at dozens of Indian restaurants from here to Seattle WA. Other reviews cite service - but they may also expect McDonald's speed. You're at a restaurant, slow down for once and enjoy your company. If you're in a hurry - go to a fast food spot. We received our food within 15 minutes or less - this is fast in my books. Place passes the vibe check - music, attentive kindness, and the tasty aromas fill your soul.

This place has good food, yet the worst service. We literally went up to the front thinking we had to order up there since they were taking so long. Even after we ordered they took forever to give us our food. Before this we read reviews of people constantly having to go up to the front to ask for service. The people next to us were confused too since they didn't get their orders written down for a while. The people who decorated this place tried to make it look fancy but in some spots it looked like it was a C rated restaurant. The food was probably the only good thing in the building It was pretty expensive too $17 for Chicken Tikka Masala 1 Star for service 4 Stars for food 3 stars for interior It would be wise for the owners to hire additional waiters and staff to assist with tables and to go orders.

I am a regular customer at Copper Pot Indian Grill, and I have enjoyed many soulful meals here over the time. Last night, however, was truly special. After seeing their 7-10 PM event on Instagram, I brought my family all the way from Irvine, and we thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it! We came for the unlimited Parotta, Salna, Omelette, and Sukka feast, and the authenticity was outstanding. Everything was served traditionally on a fresh banana leaf, which truly enhances the aroma and soul of the food. The Parottas were perfectly flaky, and the Sukka had that deep, rich spice profile that reminded us of a true home-cooked meal. You can really taste the care they put into staying true to traditional flavors. What keeps me coming back as a regular, though, is the incredible hospitality. A huge shoutout to the hostess--she was absolutely wonderful! Even with the restaurant buzzing, she was welcoming, professional, and made sure my family felt right at home. That level of genuine care and kindness is rare and makes every visit a pleasure. If you're looking for a place that treats you like family and serves food with real heart, this is the spot. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

I dropped by on a Saturday afternoon, where a few other patrons were already dining. The seating has around 6 or so tables inside that can fit around 4 each, and they also have high chairs for children! I ordered a number 17, which is the gyro, and got a side of hummus and pita then found a table to sit at. I had just finished buckling my child into the high chair when my order was delivered to my table! They are super fast here! The super friendly waiter delivered my meal, and I dug in. The gyro was stuffed with meat! This is a huge deal, since a lot of places skimp and don't give enough. So extra points to Al Hamra for a job well done. The flavor of the meat was juicy and well seasoned, super delish! The hummus and pita was good, although I usually add a bit of spices to my hummus so this one was a little plainer than I'm used to. Either way, it was a nice addition to the meal. The grand finale were the desserts! I usually go for baklava, but decided to try the knafeh, a layered cheese dessert with syrup and pistachios. Get the knafeh! The warm cheese and syrup were so delicious and made for the perfect ending to a good meal! I will definitely be back, the food was super tasty, and the people working there were friendly and helpful. Thanks for the happiness, Al Hamra!

Al Hamra Kabob Grill is a restaurant run by a Pakistani owner, specializing in kebabs and grilled…read moremeats inspired by Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. The menu also features traditional Pakistani, Persian, and Arabic dishes, such as Beef Nihari and Haleem. After several visits, here are my thoughts on some of their grilled meats and desserts. Beef Kofta - 3/5. The kofta was a bit dry and tough. I wish it had more fat and seasoning to make it juicier and more flavorful. The grilling is also somewhat inconsistent--sometimes the kofta comes out beautifully browned, while other times it's over-charred. Grilled Fish - 4/5. This is easily my favorite item on the menu and, in my opinion, their best dish. The fish is seasoned just enough to enhance its natural flavor without overpowering it. It's grilled very well, developing a beautiful golden-brown crust while remaining moist and tender inside. Beef Shish Kebab - 3.5/5. The quality of the beef is decent, especially considering the price. Given the cut of meat they use, they've done a commendable job with the grilling. The beef has a solid seasoning base and a nice sear with just enough char to add flavor without becoming overly smoky. It's reasonably tender, though I wish it retained a bit more juiciness. Chicken Shish Kebab - 3.5/5. Very similar to the beef shish kebab. It has good flavor and is grilled well, but it could benefit from being a little juicier. Gyro - 2/5. Unfortunately, this was the biggest disappointment. The gyro meat on the vertical spit often appears to be rotating without enough heat to properly caramelize and crisp the exterior. As a result, the meat comes across as dry, rubbery, and lacking the rich roasted flavor that makes a great gyro. Kunafa (Knafeh) - 3/5. This dessert has both strengths and weaknesses. The cheese filling has a pleasant, slightly salty flavor and a creamy texture, and I appreciate that it isn't overly sweet. However, the syrup is underwhelming. A good kunafa should be generously coated with a fragrant sugar syrup - ideally infused with rose water or orange blossom water - to provide sweetness and aroma. I also wish the kataifi, the shredded pastry dough, were crispier and lighter to create a better contrast with the gooey cheese filling. Overall, Al Hamra Kabob Grill is one of the better places to enjoy Middle Eastern-style grilled dishes in the South Bay. While a few menu items could be improved, the grilled fish stands out as excellent, and the shish kebabs are solid choices. The owner is also incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a warm, neighborhood atmosphere that keeps customers coming back. It's not perfect, but it's a restaurant I enjoy visiting from time to time and one I'd recommend if you're craving grilled Middle Eastern flavors.

So moist and not burnt like a lot of other places. You can easily pull it apart with your fingers as it screams, "eat me! eat me!", with delight. The chicken tikka masala's flavor was amazing! I like to try things mild first to see how they taste. Some places serve bland food and mask it with spiciness. Not here. The flavor is all there. Next time I think I'm going to adventure on the wild side and try the medium and then possibly the spicy. The included salad was simple yet so satisfying. The dressing is definitely unique and packs a punch with the spice level but... I like it. *wink* *wink* hahhaa. The rice was perfection. I hate it when it's not cooked enough and too mushy or overcooked and hard. Originally I was going to eat half tonight and then the other half tomorrow but... I know myself. I would just go to bed, wake up in the middle of the night thinking about it, then not be able to go back to sleep until I finished the rest because it would keep calling my name from the kitchen. Hahahaha. I didnt get to see the inside because I got it to go but I'll let you guys know in an update. The staff there is great and they seem like a very nice family. As I've always said, I'm a huge supporter of family businesses. I'm soooo happy I gave this place a shot. I am not only coming back, I'm definitely going to have them cater some of my parties. Enjoy!

Al-Noor could so easily be a 5, you hate to see it, but hopefully they can turn a couple moves in…read morethe kitchen and reach stardom. I'll start with the good: all the curries are fantastic. They're thick, they're flavorful, they hit you with the right spice. Normal spice is a white man's medium high so they got their base down which is more than half the battle. They cook the Paneer just right. And really enjoyed the Bartha! That The not so good: the chicken is way overcooked, I don't know if it's breast or thigh, but it definitely tasted like a dried out breast. Possibly using the tandoori and just dropping it into the gravy, but a perfectly cooked chicken thigh would take the chicken tikka masala to the moon. Second, the Paneer portion size was a joke. Maybe six cubes in the whole deal. Needs to be at least double. I'm ready to try again you gotta protect your meats!
