What happened to the food and service at this restaurant? My family and I had dinner this weekend. We waited 20 mins to get water. We ordered the appetizer "Hors d'oeuvres" and received an over fried basket of cauliflower. Dinner was chicken this masala (which was decent) and the grill plate. Most of the meat of the Grilled plate was charred and uneatable. We got 1 shrimp, 3 piece of chicken and 2 pieces of an unidentified meat. My first trip to India's Restaurant at their new location. The place is bigger from their original location. If I could recall properly, the first time I was @ India's Restaurant at their old location was in Dec 2007. Unfortunately, I could not recall what I ordered while I was there to begin with. So since they move to this new location here is my review on India's Restaurant. Certain of the dishes are OK for my taste bud. Yet some of the dishes they offer were such a disappointment. My gurl fren and I went here for an early dinner sometime back on September 28th 2009. If I were to recall correctly, these are what we ordered for that evening : * Shahi Bhajia which are crisp deep-fried vegetable fritters. These are OK for my taste bud. * Kanda Paratha is onion and garlic bread. This dish was pretty decent. * Murg Kebab ~ Spicy grilled chicken wings. I opt for this dish to be in a hot tomato sauce. I request it for EXTRA EXTRA HOT, SPICY HOT. I like this dish the best! * Akbar Boti ~ Tandoori lamb and shrimp cooked in a special sauce with bell peppers and herbs. For this dish, is my second best. As per norm I opt for EXTRA spicy too. * Mushroom Curry ~ A delicately spiced mix of Mushrooms, Peas and Potatoes. This is the dish my gurl fren had. She likes what she ordered for that evening and its one of her favorite dish to order whenever she comes to India's Restaurant. For beverages, I opt for Mango Lassi. The appetizers came promptly, but it took a while for our main entrees to come to our table. By the time we finish our dinner many more patrons were dining away in this restaurant. I ordered Lamb Biryani to take home for Hubs to try. For this dish, its a LET DOWN BIG TIME! Meaning MAJOR disppointment. Its so freaking BLAND! EcK! We have been eating at Indias for many years and through their three moves. It has always been a great place to dine and the menu is broad enough to accommodate a wide variety of tastes and diets. We had not been there in at least 18 months due to Covid. We had a houseguest last week who enjoys good food. We took him there and we were not disappointed. Great waiter with a wonderful sense of humor. Every dish we ordered to share was excellent and just as we had remembered. We are grateful that restaurants like India's have survived the pandemic and have not cut down on the menu offerings. It was extremely safe since the room is so large and no one was seated close to us. The staff continues to wear masks and we are very grateful for that. We are taking no risks with Covid exposure. This was my first restaurant experience since the Covid19 restrictions have eased up, and I'm so glad we picked India's for our coming out celebration! The owner greeted us when we entered and directed us through a rope partition separating the pick-up customers from the in house diners. It is a simple modification that goes a long way to minimize contact with other customers, but it immediately brought to mind all of the planning that has gone on behind the scenes for restaurant owners to get ready to reopen. The two of us had our usual 1) Samosa appetizer 2) Saag Paneer (spicy the way I love it!) 3) Butter Chicken (my friend's favorite go-to entree at India's) 4) 2 rounds of Conundrum white wine. Terrific service! Very friendly staff. Very knowledgeable and helpful with choosing food options. And the food is amazing. Highly recommend the garlic naan and saag paneer, which is no surprise if you've eaten Indian food even once. #32 is fantastic too, but I forgot the name. Navartan korma I believe. Delicious. We were told that this is one of the best Indian restaurants in the area and that is no lie. Service is amazing, food is amazing, prices are reasonable. I don't live in the area, so I've never done take out or delivery, so everything is based on one visit. We will return here for future visits as we thought it was a very good experience. read more

One of those old Indian Restaurants focused on serving mild to medium spiced food to American customers. Had their lunch buffet, nothing special for vegetarians. Even their choice of food in the buffet was no spice dishes(in the sense, they are meant to not have chili hot spice) Veggie dishes in the buffet, $10 Dal Saag paneer Cabbage-Potato Saffron colored basmati rice Onion pakora Jelebi- dessert No Indian customers, I was the only one. But the place was almost full with American folks. Their regular/dinner menu looks good, a bit on the expensive side. The place is big, spacious and looks neat; have a banquet hall and a full bar. There is enough parking space too. ---------- Kris- Although, the lunch buffet seems so lavish for $10, my point is, it is still not attractive to Indians! Which could be the reason why I was the only Indian(my first time) in the restaurant for an hour or so that I spent at the restaurant. Haha, "who did I expect to see in a restaurant in the US?" The food was decent. My friends and I shared a few dishes: butter chicken, chicken tandoori, and chicken tikka masala. The chicken tandoori was quite dry. The butter chicken and chicken tikka masala were both supposed to be medium in terms of spice. The butter chicken was a medium. The chicken tikka masala ended up tasting mild. We didn't bother asking them to redo the chicken tikka masala because we had waited over an hour for the food to come out in the first place. Although service was really slow (in terms of getting our food, not for water refills), we ended up getting an appetizer on the house. I don't think I'll be coming back, mostly because it takes so long for food to come out. This is a comment to the owner. I was in a group of 4. If I had wanted to have mild tikka masala, I would have ordered from the express menu. Because I like to have some spice in my tikka masala, I ordered a medium spice tikka masala. They food was good, but I think overpriced. Maybe if we had dined in, I might be ok with the price. The interior is beautiful and peaceful, but we did pickup ahead and didn't realize how nice the place looked inside and we were wearing sweatpants I wouldn't have minded paying a lot for incredible food, but it was just good. My only other complaint was the cheese roti was tough and dry, but still tasted ok. Not the best Indian food I've had, but also not the worst. For well over 20 years (basically since it first opened in fact), India's has been a family favorite. It began life in Tamarac Square before moving in 2009 to Tiffany Plaza, where it now sits in a space formerly occupied by an Armenian restaurant called Jubilee as well as another entity called Kermen which made delicious hand-pulled Chinese noodles and dumplings. The service at India's is polite, but to-the-point - no small talk here. The ever-changing lunch buffet is always a nice option (particularly if you may not be terribly familiar with North Indian cuisines), and the large menu is sure to tickle your fancy in one way or another. Roghan Josh is one item which has always been popular on our visits. Originating way up in Kashmir but mutating somewhat as it travelled through north India, this dish consists here of slow-stewed lamb with ginger, garlic and other delectables. Another favorite is the creamy and vibrantly red-hued Chicken Tikka Masala, which was actually "birthed" in Scotland but is based upon much-loved Indian classics. As befits a nation where vegetarianism is widely practiced, India's also gives you a number of meatless offerings. I like the smoky sweetness of Bengan Bharta (roasted eggplant), the chewy thickness of Bhindi Masala (stewed okra) and of course the Khumbi (mushroom) Curry which throws peas and potatoes in for good measure. Each meal comes with cute little metal cups of Basmati rice, a tomato and lettuce salad, and Raita (a cucumber-yogurt condiment particularly useful if you ordered something just a little too spicy). You can also order one of their breads,. slapped on the inside wall of the Tandoor (inhumanly hot clay oven) and baked to perfection. I particularly like Peshwari Naan with coconut and raisins - but I may be a little biased since my grandfather was actually from the city of Peshawar in what is now Pakistan. End your feast with something sweet. Many South Asian desserts are based on Khoya - milk cooked down in a very intensive process until it is thick and sweet. This is indeed the basis for India's chewy Kulfi (ice cream) - the pistachio and mango flavors are the best. Or maybe an aromatic Kheer (rice pudding with raisins and almonds) is the one for you. I am very new to indian food but it is quickly becoming a favorite. My boyfriend has been coming here for years upon years like some of the other reviews when it was located in Tamarac Square. So now its in Tiffany Plaza, and the restaurant is very nice inside. Pretty open for space, neatly decorated, clean, everything one could ask for at an eating establishment. There also is a neat little window on the way to the restroom where you can see them cooking the nann and you can see right into the kitchen and how clean it is. Also a plus in my book. A colleague was trying to remember a restaurant in Denver that he had enjoyed long ago (over 10 years). While visiting Denver on a business trip earlier this year he stopped by another Indian restaurant for dinner and asked the manager if knew of the other restaurant. The manager mentioned India's Restaurant and provided the address. Since we thought getting a recommendation of an Indian restaurant from another Indian restaurant might be a favorable sign that the place was good, we decided to give it a try recently. Joined by three other co-workers we stopped by on a Monday night. The restaurant is in a strip mall that includes a Whole Foods Market, a Fitness club and several other stores. India's Restaurant is in the back next to the Elvis Cinemas. The mall has a sizable parking lot and we didn't have any problems finding a spot across from the restaurant. We ordered a few different Indian beers - Kingfisher, Old Monk 10000, Flying Horse and one other. They were all quite good. Since I ordered a combination Thali ($19.95) which is sample of several dishes, I didn't bother to order an appetizer. The dinner included salad, rice & peas, lentils, chicken curry, potato/pea curry, a lamb dish (lamb vindaloo?), tandoori chicken and another lamb dish (lamb sheikh kabab?). The waiter had asked how I wanted it prepared and said that the hot was really hot. So, I ordered "medium." However, it was not hot at all. Each of my dishes ranged from okay to pretty good. The lamb dishes were particularly tasty. The paradox here: in order to consume said Tikka Masala, you will need 1. more rice 2. to order an extra side of na'an. My friend and I ended up ordering the na'an when we both dismally looked down at our food. Eat curry dishes... plain or spend more moneys on na'an. What to do. What to do. The na'an ended up being ordered. Though an added expense, the na'an was delicious. Truly superb. Crispy *and* soft, thick and hot... yum! My meal was exponentially more delicious with it. I got to hit this place again last night for my birthday dinner. Once again, it failed to disappoint me! It was absolutely delicious and spicy! It burned my face off and I loved it! At least for those of you that are afraid of a little spice, you can order to your liking from mild to extra hot. I ordered my dish hot... oh yeah! The service was a little weak, but the food was so good that it didn't matter too much. I had the "Boti Saag" which is lamb in a cream spinach sauce. OH MY GOD it was so good! If you're a connoisseur of Indian cuisine, you absolutely must try India's! On a side note, they mentioned that they will be moving from Tamarac Square soon. My friend and I went there for a weekday brunch. It was kinda tricky to find the place. The Elvis' theater sign is quite visible. The restaurant is actually right next door of the movie theater. Plenty of parking (although people kinda drive crazy in the parking lot.) The brunch selection included your typical Indian dishes like chicken tikka masala, curry, vegetable fritters,etc. $8.95 was not bad for all you can eat lunch. I went for dinner but I must try the lunch buffet. How can you beat all you can eat buffets? Especially at Indian restaurants. Every time I go to to an Indian place, I have the toughest time choosing what type of dish I want to eat at that moment. Buffets let me sample a little bit of everything! I diverged. Came here for dinner and it was "A-OK!" It wasn't the best Indian food I've ever had (nothing can beat homemade Indian food.. especially if a grandmother cooks it for you. Haha), but it was still pretty yummy. Note: Not EVERYONE there speaks English. We were trying to ask him about the naan, but he just kept wanting to bring us an order of naan. Eventually he had to call someone else who could answer question and then bring us naan. Speaking of naan, it was the best part of the meal! It was so soft and warm and perfectly cooked. It was a good compliment to my dish - I got the Chicken Ticca (asked for Medium spiciness, but wow, it was spicy!). Each of our dishes came with a small bowl of rice, yogurt sauce and salad. And by small, it is tiny.. There was no way to finish our curry with just the rice; hence, the naan. All in all, it was a little pricey for what we got. We each ended up paying $20 for 2 entrees and naan (no drinks, appetizers). Which is why I say I must try the lunch buffet. Sounds amazing. read more

This is and has been my favorite Indian restaurant anywhere in the US. Don't live in Denver any longer, but was in town for one night and it was a no brainer where I wanted to have dinner. Chris and his family have a wonderful restaurant. When we lived in Denver and came often we were given such good service. This is the best Indian food in Denver. We live on Green Mountain but are never disappointed when we drive at least 40 minutes to get there. One of my favorite Indian restaurants in Denver. I have ate here many times with friends. The staff is always friendly and eager to serve you. I think that my favorite dish would be the Vindaloo. Very hot, spicy and down right tasty! Other notable mentions is the Saag and Tandoori! Since then India's has moved across the street and out of Tamarac Square. The whole Tamarac development has been under speculation of being leveled for quite some time. So many of the businesses that were here for ages have moved or have closed. Not India's! Best Indian food! They have a large restaurant compete with full bar. Had a party of 6 for dinner. We ordered and shared family style. Spicy scale is 1-5. We ordered one item mild and one item super hot and the rest medium. Food: (1-5 scale for taste) chicken korma+++, shrimp and chicken ticca ++++, saag paneer +++++, lamb vindaloo ++++, shrimp rice dish ( I would skip this it was meh) Service: friendly and attentive. I love Indian food and know how it should taste. The shrimp briyani and yellow Dahl dishes with naan bread were what we ordered. My friend doesn't enjoy Indian food but wanted to try something new. Great food, but horrible service. My husband and I waited over 15 minutes to have the server ask for our drink order. I then took another 10-15 minutes to get our drink order. Our appetizers once ordered, took another 15-20 minutes to be served at our table. Then when we placed our actual food order, we had to ask the bus server to ask the waiter/kitchen why it had been 45 minutes since we placed or our order to get our food. We will never go back. We will go to the Indian restaurant on S. Downing St. near Porter Hospital in the future. read more
