I love India's! We have been eating here for many years, including the previous 2 locations in the Tamarac Square area. The food is authentic and delicious, in a pleasant setting. It is definitely not fast food, service is good, but not the place if you are in a hurry. Relax, have a drink or appetizer, and then enjoy a delicious meal. I especially love the Goa thali (seafood), the lamb is amazing, the curries are just right, and they know how to cook everything properly in the tandoor. She continued to feel constant and extreme pain and I took her to the nearest urgent care and they decided to do an X-ray which when they found a sharp object in her. She ordered the Masala. We are so fortunate it did not causes more harm. We had called the resultant manager about this and called me a liar. This is our family's favorite Indian restaurant in town. The lunch buffet has a lot of choices and the food always tastes fresh and delicious. We order dinner 'to go' from here frequently and it is always a good serving size and consistently great tasting. I think, this is the same kitchen and owner from India's, in Tamarac Square. I remember it being better when they were in Tamarac Square... I found our buffet rather bland and boring. The Naan came out... Almost grainy... The restaurant was dirty (granted, we came in a little late, but still... Bus you fucking tables, man), and the service at our lunch buffet was awful - We couldn't get a refill on our waters... I'm super disappointed in this new location and am holding on to the belief that this new location is not by the same owner/chef as the India's that used to be in Tamarac. read more

Hello! Do You See Me?! I'm Ready To Order! We have been exploring the restaurants around our area lately. This place was one of the most recent. I think that a lot of people are spot on when they say the service SUCKS! Come on people! Get with it! You work in a restaurant! Can you be a little more attentive and try to look happy?! Good thing I read the reviews before coming here so I wasn't too upset because I knew what I was getting into. Also the food does take forever to come out as well. We must have waited an hour from the time we walked in to get our main dishes. We ordered two dishes and an appetizer. The appetizer came out about twenty/ thirty minutes after ordering. We ordered the Paneer Pakora. Don't order this! It is like fried mozzarella sticks, but not as good! The cheese was hard somehow, even after frying, and there was no flavor or sauce to dip it in. Just get naan or samosas instead. They can't ruin that I hope... :( The two main dishes we ordered were a fish curry and a chicken curry. I am looking at the menu online to give you names but I can't remember. The two dishes were so nondescript that I can't pick them out in the menu... They didn't taste bad, they were pretty good, but definitely not the best I've had (and that's coming from a person who lived in Hawaii! Not a huge Indian/middle eastern population there!). The only positive I can really say is that we got two meals out if the portion. Dinner the next night. But that is the norm with Indian food for us so not much of a positive. Oh and the young guy filling water was on it! One person said they didn't even get a refill once so I was happy with that. Honestly, I have to go somewhere else for my Indian food even though I live right on Hampden! Sad! I will come back to try the buffet, which seems like a deal. What did the chickpea say to the lentil bean? Can you peas len me a hand with this all-you-can eat Indian buffet? Alright, so I'm not exactly a comedian and I certainly won't quit my day job. But when it comes to really good solid Indian food, India's Restaurant is no laughing matter. What you will want to chuckle over is the price. $8.95 all you can eat lunch buffet. For real?! This is some seriously good food. I've been eyeballing it for some time now and after a session of yoga at the gym next door I decided to continue my namaste. I found out quickly that their lunch is only a buffet and the menu is reserved for dinner. No problem. I passed the salad section and headed right for the good stuff. Saag Paneer - spinach cooked with cheese and spices. So good I went back for seconds! Bengan Bharta - grlled eggplant with peas, potatoes and onions. Great flavor and my second favorite. Chana Masala - spiced chick peas. Wonderful texture and well rounded taste. Chicken Curry - Beautiful golden curry with hints of spice to liven it up. Shahi Bhajia - deep fried veggie fritters. A little too crispy for my liking but great once I softened it up with some sauce off the other dishes. And the naan....obviously homemade with a nice chewy texture and soft and spongy inside. With such outstanding dishes I could easily become a vegetarian and not bat an eyelash. read more

Lunch buffet for $8.95! Sweet! Where has this place been my whole existence in Denver? I am so grateful for Dan N putting the UYE together, so I was able to enjoy the deliciousness of their abundant buffet collectively with my Yelp dudes and dudettes. First - I'd like to comment on the decor. I am not sure if I could get any closer to a real set of a Bollywood film than I did in this colorful and opulent dining room. My favorite element was either the bar set aside for those wild and crazy Bollywood Dance Party nights or the umbrellas hanging from the ceiling in all kinds of neon, technicolor. The food was pretty delightful. Somewhat of a neophyte (still) to Indian cuisine, it seemed the buffet items - your standard chicken curry, vindaloo, masala, and samosas were very fresh and didn't seem to be sitting under the heating lamp all day. The flavors were spot on and I wasn't overwhelmed with spice, which I am not sure is typical of authentic Indian cuisine. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it and shall return! read more

Very Poor Customer Service.... My wife and I went to India's Restaurant Friday night. We got there a little after 9pm, and the host staff, two younger gentlemen greeted us sincerely, and promptly seated us. That was probably the best part of the whole dining experience--as everything went grossly downhill from there. Our knives were dirty, but there replaces immediately As we were looking over the menu, not even a minute had passed, and one of the waiter/servers came up to us and asked "what do you want to drink". He said it in a "pressuring" tone, as we were getting the vibe that he had more important things to do than to take care of us. We told him that we are ok with our water, and he walked off with a "dirty look". Another minute had passed, and we were still reading the menu---6 pages at least, and small print (we are not slow readers--their selection of food is extensive). We had another Waiter/server (the man with the thick mustache) who came to our table and asked "what do you want to order". It was obvious to note that he lacked politeness, along with the fact that we were still reading the menu. When we decided on what we wanted, we had to flag him down--I'm sure he did not realize that we are ready as our menus were down at the edge of the table (or he might not have seen that). We ended up ordering Chicken Tikka Masala, but it came with a little yougart, salad, and a VERY small amount of rice. The food was good, but the lack of rice, and mainly the staff attitude were great disappointments. I addressed our concerns with the waiter, who in turn got me the manager/owner (older man with gray hair and mustache). I addressed my concerns nicely, but he beg to differ. He told he in a demanding way "don't be sarcastic... don't talk to me THAT way". (Well Sir, I'm sorry that I am upset, and that I am not speaking to you in a way that makes me sound like I have to beg.....). As we were eating our food that arrived almost immediately, the thick mustache waiter was constantly staring at my wife. It was bothering her, and making her uncomfortable. It seems like now there were no people to readily help us, although they were cleaning up other tables. We had to ask for the check, and after we paid, my wife left quickly while I addressed my concerns to the gray haired manager/owner. It is clear to see that the words "I'm sorry we did not live up to your expectations"... or even a simple "I'm sorry". When I told him about the waiter staring constantly at my wife, and making her uncomfortable, he simply laughed it off, and said "oh... he's married". Again, no apology at all. (Maybe he feels its ok for married men to stare at his wife....). The more I tried to address our dissatisfaction, the more he said "you bought this experience on yourself... if you spoke to me nicely, we could have handled this differently".... Along with defensiveness, he also added "We have been here for over 25 years, and we know what we are doing.... and I was also in the army". At that point, I ended our "conversation" was going absolutely nowhere. It is really sad to see that places like this one do not know the lifetime value of a customer. My wife got the feeling that they treat people differently--had we been a Caucasian couple with the same concerns, speaking in the same way I did, that the outcome would have been different. I could tell people to "stay away" from this restaurant, but I will not. Sure, their food was good, but what left us a 'bad taste in our mouth' was the attitude of both of the older people we dealt with. My recommendation would be for the younger hosting team to provide the older team members with some MUCH needed training in simple people skills. read more

I am kind of blown away with that there is an Indian buffet of this quality for under 10.00. The Indian dudes that work there are so nice and hospitable, though there is definitely a language barrier. The buffet was yummy. This was my first visit. I made a special trip over for the lunch buffet. An Indian restaurants lunch buffet is not always indicative of their overall quality, but it was lunch and i was hungry. I arrived at 11:15 and was surprised that they weren't open yet, some people who work in offices take lunch between 10 and 11. I was excited to be getting there at opening time because it would mean that the food would all be fresh. I enjoyed everything I had but didn't feel like there was a big selection. There was naan, tandoori chicken, vegetable pakoras, saag paneer, vegetable masala, garbanzo stuff and curry chicken. I like everything I had but I would have like another meat dish with a creamy sauce. The naan was better than I have had on the buffet at Little India. The pakoras were dense and very flavorful. ' Next time I will come for dinner so I can try my favorite Shahi Korma. Since I am so close I will probably even return for the buffet, I will probably call and ask if the selections change though. Unfortunately, my husband does not like Indian food. He hasn't tryed a whole lot of it so I think I can still change him, but I would hate to take him here and have him not like it. read more

Fine dining should be all about atmosphere and service and offcourse good food. I stopped by India's on a Wednesday night at 7:40 p.m. for dinner with my wife. I intended to eat Sheekh Kabab and Naan and a cup of Indian milk tea. The Naan were the best of all, the Sheekh kabab was good but at times I felt it was undercooked and milk tea was very sub-standard as it was watery and not enough milk! The worst part of the visit was the waiter. I have seen him work there during another visit and I was hoping I wouldn't have him to serve this time. My bad luck, it was him again! This guy doesn't know how to greet customers and attend to their needs. There's always a sense of rudeness in his approach. At the end of our meal, he was just standing and peaking at our table waiting to grab the empty plates as if he was in a hurry to go home. he even took away our sauces before we finished our meals! It is with solomn countenance and heavy heart that I wirte this review. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. India's used to be the best Indian restaurant in Denver, nay, the country. When I lived in Denver, I would go once a week. And when I travel back to Denver, it's always been one of my three must-eats (along wtih Piccolo's for pizza and Benny's for Mexican). Verily (verily!?), I'd eaten there as recently at 2006, with excellent result. So I popped in last week for a lunch buffet and found the buffet had shrunk from 20 items in the 1990s to about 5! I helped myself to some chicken curry. They didn't bother to debone any of it and just dumped whole pieces of wing and breast (bone-in) into the (what I now know to be) slop. Scraping the meat off the bone and then grabbing it with the (not so fresh) naan, my last hopes faded. The curry was bland. Not only did it lack any kind of firey heat, it lacked spice. The pungent curry taste was gone. Alas, India's has abdicated the throne, which now belongs solely to Amber India in Mountain View, C-A. "Alas, Poor India's! This is, hands down, my favorite Indian restaurant in Denver. I used to frequent it when it was in Tamarac, followed it to Tiffany Plaza, and now go as often as I can to the new location. The food. I'm Indian. I've grown up eating homemade Indian food and when I go out for Indian food most of the time I'm unimpressed. Many of the places in town have cloying sweet chicken tikka masala, overcooked saag paneer, gravies are too thin or thick, and so on and so forth. Just average. But India's has always served well spiced, perfectly nuanced dishes. I've been ordering Number 75 (chicken and shrimp ticca masala) for years, and it has remained consistently amazing. (I haven't found another restaurant in this town that serves a similar dish. SOOOO good.) Both of my immigrant parents choose this restaurant when they come to visit. My dad won't eat my cooking and demands to be taken here, and my mom loves to order the hard boiled egg curry, which is a dish she makes at home. Authentic yet fancy? Yup. For me and my son, this has become our "treat ourselves" or "special occasion" restaurant. Not off the charts pricey but certainly not for everyday. We've even decided to make this part of our Christmas tradition and rather than cooking the standard turkey dinner we come here each year. Rather mediocre. We came here for lunch, and everyone had the buffet. I don't recall anyone particularly raving about any one offering. For me, the best two things were probably that the tandoori chicken had a nice smoky element to the flavor, and that there were a fair number of dishes being offered. That said, the tandoori chicken was rather dry, and they were using some fairly small chicken parts. The chicken curry was quite bland and was skimpy on chicken. The shrimp vindaloo was rather tasteless, and although I dug for shrimp, the only chunks I found were potato. The saag paneer was average. The dal soup was boring. The lentils were uninspired. The service was fine and the restaurant space is similarly acceptable. read more

I do love a good Indian buffet and this one has been around for a long while. Originally, I used to frequent this establishment in the days when it was housed in Tamarac Square. Now they are located on the other side of Hampden in the Tiffany shopping Center. It is not quite as intimate but the food is every bit as flavorful! Their tandoori chicken is fabulous and they have beautiful spices and chutneys to enjoy. They have something for everyone with lots of vegetarian and vegan choices available. I love all the delicious curries and vegetable dishes offered in the lunch buffet. P.S. Their chai is out of this world! read more

Pretty good deal for a quick lunch in the DTC. $8.95 gets you an all you can eat buffet at lunchtime and the food seemed pretty hot and fresh. I spend a lot of time in this particular strip mall (my all time favorite Whole Foods is right there) and have never thought to stop into India's (because my all time favorite Whole Foods is right there). The lunch club brought me in. I had heard ravings about the saag here and it did not disappoint. Bright green spinach, just enough cream, and it didn't taste like it had been sitting out for too long. Also tasty was the chana masala as well as the pakora like fritter things with peppers in them. Not good at all was the daal soup. It tasted like nothing but....mouth coating. The actual daal lentils (lentils lentils?) were what I was actually looking for and they were pretty standard. The buffet is just the right size and suitable for everyone. It has the requisite unnecessary "salad bar" that all Indian buffets seem to have that people only visit for the chutneys (or at least I do). The servers/water fillers are not the friendliness nor do they fill your water more than once. However, paying was painless and lunch easily fit into a lunch hour. When craving Indian buffet in the DTC area, India's is not a bad bet. read more

What happened to this place. I been coming to India's for over 15 years and came back today today for the 1st time in about a year. Boy, they've gone hill. The buffet used to be great but today was just uninspiring. In the past, the Tandoori Chicken was made perfect where you can taste the charcoal and it was moist/juicy. Today, I tried 2 pieces of dry breast and drumstick and gave up. The rest (Sag Paneer, Curry Mushroom, Curry Potatoes, Curry Chicken) was meh, just edible and nothing great. I'm sad because we live around the corner, and their food is pretty tasty (even though portions are small for the price), Sadly, their hours are bad and their online ordering service is THE WORST. Do not bother ordering online. The first time we ordered we had to wait 20 minutes past the pickup time (which was already 45 minutes in the future). The 2nd time, we arrived at the given pickup time (45 minutes after the order was placed), and they said it would be another 30 minutes! We had to cancel and eat some crappy fast food because the family was starving. If you are offering an online pickup service you need to offer accurate pickup times, or at the very least, call if you are too busy to fulfill the order on time. I just don't have any use for a restaurant that opens at 5:30, says the food will be ready at 6:15, and when I arrive to pick it up, tells me it won't be ready until 6:45. That's poor customer service. One time I can forgive, but it's every time. We won't be coming back. read more

The atmosphere is excellent and the wait staff are all attentive and friendly. Also great as takeout but the rice portion is a little small. Went here on a saturday night. We went relatively early - 6pm. But thankfully we had a reservation. I met a lady later in the rest room that had a reservation but that it had been "lost". The decor is definitely fun! And the booths are pretty rooms! I'm sure we could have had a party of 6 with no trouble. The staff is definitely on the ball. Our water glasses were always full - although the fella filling them seemed a little put off at our water intake. The staff is definitely all about moving the meal along and getting you out the door! That kind of feeling left the meal slightly sub par. We ordered a bottle of wine with the meal and it was very good. Nice price too! We decided to have everyone pick a meal and go family style - which seemed typical, but was not when all of our plates arrived ready for a single person to eat... We started with 2 orderes of somosas and they were fresh from the frier and pretty good! For the meal portion we went with the We went with makhani murg, gorst (lamb) paneer, chicken curry, and some other chicken vindaloo! The paneer was wonderful, and makhani had a great flavor! The garlic naan was great and just perfect for dipping! We went with 2 servings! For desert they were out of the cinnamon bread pudding, but they didn't tell our companions till they delivered hubby's Gulab Jamun. Strange. The entire time we were slowing down in our eating they would come over and attempt to take our plates (still plenty of food on the table and on our plates). It was disturbing. We got to wondering if perhaps they were out of plates or perhaps had served us incorrectly. Good food, fun atmosphere, but the rushing and rude behavior would keep me from coming back. I want to give this place 5 stars but cannot. My family had dinner here on a Thursday (NOT THANKSGIVING) Service was slow, we had to ask for everything on every stage of the meal. I ordered my dish spicy and my fiancé ordered mild. They switched it and he could barely eat his meal. The tikka masala was fabulous. I love Indian Curry. But I dislike poor hospitality. At India's Restaurant we got both. Yes, we walked in near the close of lunch. But never having been here before we didn't know we couldn't order off the menu during buffet time. The waiter even asked us which, but when we opted for the menu, a hubbub ensued. There was another couple in the same situation and they almost left. The remainder of our stay felt like we were an inconvenience to them. That said, the food was good. I had Rogan Josh and my wife had Chicken Korma. We ordered garlic Naan (nan) on the side. I'm used to 1-5 spice ratings where 1 is disappointing and 5 makes me cry. Since mild sounded equivalent to a 1, I ordered medium. I'm a wuss. Medium was a bit hot for me and I quickly ran out of water. Thankfully my wife has a warrior's mouth and spared me some of hers, since waiter dude was AWOL. The Rogan Josh was not the best I've had, but was still delicious. The lamb, however, was the most tender I've encountered. Again, the heat detracted from the overall experience. The chicken Korma was 'Yummy' and my wife enjoyed the pistachios and raisins. The chicken was a bit overdone and drier than expected. Both of us felt we did not have nearly enough rice. I am used to a rice to sauce ratio of 2:1 and here it was more like 1:4. I'm no Indian eatery professional, but I wanted more rice. The Naan was good, nicely toasted with generous amounts of fresh garlic. The buffet looked like a really good variety and if you are not certain what you enjoy, then it should be a nice way to start on your curry adventure. I love Indian food and as a Denver native I have tried most of the restaurants over the past 25 years. India's remains my favorite spot to eat Indian. Be adventurous and try some other dishes besides chicken tikka masala although it's good here too. Go for their raisin and coconut nan for a sweeter bread or their garlic nan covered in garlic and parsley both are amazing. One of my favorite dishes is their egg curry... yep that's not a typo. I would never think to order this on my own but we did at a group dinner years ago and its been a staple dish ever since for us. The combination of spicy flavorful savory curry similar to a masala sauce and hard boiled egg simmered in sauce is out of this world. TRUST ME if your not someone who is squeamish about new food try it. Also good are the vegetarian dishes and tandoori grilled meats they do exceptionally well. They are also spot on with their desserts and have a much better selection than any other place in Colorado. I don't' think desert is thought of much when it comes to Indian food but you are seriously missing out. Ras malali is something you must try. Its a very delicate and mild cheese that they strain by hand much like a cheesecake and then pour over a sweet aromatic syrup topped with pistachios and the result is heavenly. I crave this stuff. Kheer is another good one. It's a traditional rice pudding but what makes it irresistible is the cardamon and spices that add great depth to the dessert. They have a full bar and great mango lasi's too. The service can be a little on the slow side at times but makes up for it in awesome flavor and authentic Indian dishes, not watered down American versions. I love the sauces, the curry, the westernized flavors from years of English influence... mmmm - imperialism never tasted so good. India's Restaurant gets it all right and their Saag Panner definitely lives up to their excellent reputation. It was creamy and smooth, and seasoned just perfectly. In another life, it could have been a centerpiece - surrounded by chips and served as a spinach dip at any number of restaurants. The cooks here have always been the same for 20+ years, they own it! Once there where two restaurants and Impostors so they closed the other restaurant to avoid confusion. This is excellent Indian food. Don't forget to get the Strawberry Lassi for dessert. read more

We were excited to find Indian food in Denver. Keeping things fair for review and our palates, we ordered our normal fare...Lamb Curry with Potatoes, Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic and regular Naan, saffron rice, etc. From the get go, the server argued about adding potatoes to a curry dish and kept on pushing Vindaloo, although the base curries are different and not the flavor I was looking for. Everything was ordered mild but arrived on the medium-hot end of the scale. Service was dismal for the amount of staff on hand. They asked how everything was and we were kind, but honest. They seemed shocked that anyone wouldn't think they were awesome but this location rates about the bottom of all Indian cuisine in Los Angeles. Shortly thereafter, they brought out rice pudding desserts which was nice but neither of us eat rice pudding. Alternatively, they took $5.00 off the check (which was about half of what the desserts would have cost). The check was still about $50.00 for a simple dinner for two without alcohol or anything extravagant. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good, quality Indian. I will be checking out other places and hope I find better otherwise I will be digging out my cookbooks and be making all this at home! read more

I went here recently with my family. When they brought out of the papadams and condiments... I wasn't impressed. So I sprinted over to Whole Foods, to bring back some GOOD mango chutney. I ordered some chicken tikka masala, rice, and naan. All of it was great. For dessert though, I opted for Whole Foods indian selection. The service here was really good.
