Even me. And I am NOT a drinker. We ordered shrimp cocktails, lobster bisque, steaks and lobster. Everything so good. My son's steak was overdone but they happily remade it and ALL the sides that came with it. Just immaculate service. We also ordered the chocolate mousse pie. We asked our server to place the candles we had brought on top. Lemme tell you. The service. Just so good. She realized they were sparkler candles so she waited to light it until she was at our table. We did ask the manager if we could present our son his gift during dinner. It was a firearm and we didn't wanna cause any drama or "unsafe" feelings even though, obvi, it wouldn't have been loaded. We did want to respect the establishment and their other patrons. He kindly declined and, of course, we understood. Can we talk about service? Just so exceptional. Customer service for me will make or break any experience. The bills was... A LOT. For starters we had some chunky guac, watermelon pico, and some kind of verde salsa with chips. 10/10! The Watermelon pico was new to me and very refreshing!! Next we had some steak fajitas with rice. I was not a fan of the rice and the steak wasn't seasoned to my liking but still a good dish! Lastly we had dessert that put me in the mind of being at the state fair. It was a pastry fried (think like funnel cake taste) and fruit ...so yummy! Now the margaritas! We went for a 3:00 show on a Sunday such that by the time we got out, it was 6:00-still early. It was in the 30's outside and already dark (thanks DLS time). Yet as we reached the top of the stairs to the lobby I was immediately disappointed that there was no fire lit in the fireplace. There were only three parties in the place. One was around the corner in the adjoining sitting area and may or may not have been drinking. There were two couples at the bar, where we considered also sitting. But the only empty spot for two had two dirty drink glasses from a previous patron still sitting. So we opted for the leather couch and chair in the main area just across from the bar. And that's where we waited, and waited, for almost 30 minutes, before giving up on getting served (or acknowledged). There was only one bartender, so we were fine with going up to order but communication would have been helpful. We stood at the bar while she chatted with the two couples, who'd all been served. We couldn't really figure out what she was doing as she seemed busy-ish yet wasn't serving, or clearing, or washing, and we were chatting between ourselves and didn't really give it much thought. Then she said she was out of something and was leaving the bar to go fetch it. We asked her to let us know when she was ready to serve us, and we took our seats to resume our conversation. The bartender returned after a while, and she served one of the original couples ... for another 10 minutes at least. Again we were talking so, while an irritation, it was in the background. About 50 minutes into our visit, she came over and took our drink order. This was my third or fourth visit, and I'd ordered my drink, an old fashioned, before and knew what to expect: bourbon of choice, Luxardo cherry, and a dehydrated orange slice. Ten minutes later we got our drinks. Now mind you, my friend ordered a glass of wine. Nothing time consuming about that. She noted that her pour was smaller than the other times she'd been there. Mine came with the whisky cube already on its way to melted, a broken (a.k.a. piece of) cherry and a twist. What? Where's my glorious little crunchy orange wheel of goodness? I had spied them on the bar earlier. No soup for me! Also, and I can't be sure 100% sure of this, but I tasted neither bitters nor syrup. Was this really just a bourbon rocks? It took a minute but we realized this gal cannot tend and talk at the same time. My friend commented that she had no idea what will happen when the place gets busy, as it has been every other time I've been there. We left after 8:00, after one drink, and for me, $21 lighter. Yeah, it's pricey. And the Carmichael crowd is a discriminating one. So we expected better. Much, much better.

Ruined Birthday Celebration & Threatened for Returning Undercooked Food…read more We came to 3UP to celebrate a birthday and left feeling disrespected and completely let down. What should have been a fun evening turned into one of the most unpleasant dining experiences we've had. The food came out undercooked -- not a minor complaint, but a genuine food safety concern. When we flagged it and returned the dishes, instead of an apology or a solution, the kitchen manager showed up and asked us to leave. Apparently, the expectation was that we eat improperly cooked food and say nothing. To make matters worse, Sofia, the shift manager on duty, approached the situation with a smug smile rather than any attempt at empathy or professionalism. When we tried to calmly talk through the issue and find a resolution, she continued pushing us toward the door. It wasn't until the actual manager got involved that the situation was handled -- but only after we agreed to pay for the undercooked food we had returned. We paid for food we couldn't eat just to be allowed to stay. Let that sink in. We are not alone in this experience. A quick look at other reviews shows a pattern of poor service that management has clearly chosen to ignore rather than address. If you're looking for a place where your food is cooked properly and you're treated with basic respect, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. We will not be returning.

I kept my drink orders simple this visit, but Thieves has a whole menu full of creative cocktails. What you do when you enter is just sit down, and someone will come by and take your order. But if you're visiting for coffee (because Thieves is also a coffee bar), you can order at the counter. I don't recall if they offer food. This is mostly a place to get drinks. And it's a lovely place to get drinks. Thieves is located in the heart of Broad Ripple, which means that parking is atrocious. I parked near The Vogue and walked over, but maybe you can find street parking, if you're lucky.

Everything else they ordered was marked GF on the menu. Both girls ended up sick and one ended up in the ER with gluten contamination. Staff needs to be better trained. This could end up being a deadly mistake. Think twice if you have food allergies before dining here.
