While the food was very good I prefer the Indochine restaurant in Wilmington. The Goi Cuon shrimp rolls were good with nice presentation. I had the same dish at both locations - Happy Asian Melody. First off, the food is incredibly tasty and plentiful. OMG is it plentiful. I always order Hot Hokkien Noodles with chicken, beef and sausage on wonderful rise noodles in a delicious sauce. We get 4 meals out of a single dinner order! Another big plus for us is their receptionist Sheena, who always greets us with a million dollar smile. She's so welcoming it almost feels like a homecoming. It's also special how she always anticipates our order. Sheena is a real credit to Indochine Express. I'm bumping my review from 3 to 4 stars. DH and I had lunch today and the food was very good. We started with the Cha Gio rolls. There were 6 to the order and reasonably priced. They reminded us of the rolls we had at a Korean restaurant back in Maryland. Nice crunchy wraps. They were served with lettuce to wrap the rolls. I ordered the Pad Kra Pao, beef with basil. DH ordered the Pad Thai. Both were huge portions and well prepared. We have plenty of leftovers to enjoy. You order at the counter. The person that took our order was very friendly. She brought our food out quickly to our table. This is a small place and nicely decorated. The only thing I didn't like (yes, I should have asked) was that were were not given plates. For Asian takeout, you can't get better than this. A branch of Indochine in Wilmington- this gives you the best in a smaller setting. I came into today for a tom kha gai soup. The restaurant is really tiny but they had a quick system for take out. I ate in and enjoyed comfy seating in a beautiful environment.. of course my soup was delicious- especially with their homemade chili oil. Staff were very nice, too. read more

Been waiting for this spot to open so when I saw that flashing open sign I veered right into the parking lot and slide into the closest space! Staff super friendly!!! Drinks are self serve. Order up front to go or to sit down. The dining in is gorgeous. We all already know how amazingly delicious the food is and their new location does not disappoint at all! Stop in here! Food is fine, but the service is terrible. Every time I've ordered delivery there, they've gotten my order wrong. The most recent time I called, they blamed DoorDash even though they're the ones who prepped the order. DoorDash then couldn't redeliver because the restaurant apparently doesn't allow it. read more

The location is primarily focused on take-out. It has a small number of tables for dine-in service. It is brightly lit and Spartan on decor. Acoustics and traffic tend to impede conversation. We shared orders of golden bags, crab Rangoon , and yumyum chicken. After completing our meal, there were two golden bags and enough yumyum chicken for lunch the next day. The food was delicious and plentiful. The staff was friendly and professional. Overall, a great meal and a great value for the price. Just don't expect fancy. Picked up a to-go order last night. I am now eating leftover for lunch. Portions are large, enough for two substantial meals. The quality of the food here is as good as the Mother Ship. We had soup, chicken wings, pad Thai and Hokkien Hot Noodles. Food was delicious. Noteworthy is the computer system used for pick-up orders. It was spot on in the order ready time and kept me informed. With the upcoming bridge work, it is nice to have this high quality in Leland. read more

If I could give this a minus star I would. Ordered the sweet and sour tofu, I didn't realize I had to assemble my meal myself. The rice was separate, the tofu was separate as well as the sauce. I wasn't even given a plate to put everything together. The tofu came in a Styrofoam container that was just slopped in there and the sauce and rice were in take out containers. We were eating in not takeout. The menu said the sauce came with pineapple, tomatoes and bell peppers, white rice and tofu. The sauce was just that, just sauce with 3 pineapple chunks, no tomatoes no bell peppers. The tofu was one of the worse I've ever had it was dried out on the outside and rubbery on the inside like it had been sitting there for a while. It was an obscene amount of tofu like they wanted to get rid of it. Shame on this restaurant for charging the prices that they do for the extremely low quality of food. read more

We stopped in on way home after Pickleball and staff was super friendly. It was close to closing but they made time to make us some food to go! The food at the express is great. I was concerned that it would not be as good as the restaurant. They had some shaky days in the start but seems to have worked out any problems. I'm a long time fan of the Indochine in Wilmington. It has been my favorite restaurant for years. I get the same dish every time because I love it so much. I wanted to give this new location a try and ordered my old stand by dinner - Bun Thit Nuong with beef. I eat some for dinner and usually have enough for 2 lunches. I LOVE it - usually!! This version at the Leland location was Totally NOT the same. The rice noodles were overcooked and mushy and there was a thick sweet sauce on the beef. Typically, it is marinated and delicious but NO thick sweet sauce. It reminded me of store bough teriyaki sauce. The whole dish was disappointing and, not only did I not finish my portion for dinner, I threw the rest away so no leftovers for lunch. I'll stick to the original location!!! read more

We will NEVER be ordering from here again! What a horrific experience. The "Manager" Sheena has ZERO customer service! I ordered dinner for my husband to pick up on his way home from work. As soon as I placed the order he remembered the dish he ordered has some veggies he doesn't like in it. I immediately called the restaurant to try and update the order and spoke with Sheena. I explained that I just placed an order my husband is picking it up but I paid for it. She asked for my name (Multiple times, I had to spell it 3 times) then proceeded to tell me they had not received my order. I asked if it might be under my husbands name since he is picking it up. Told her what was in the order. Told her the service I ordered through. She insisted that the order had not been received even though I had a text message saying it had been. She offered to call me back when the order came through. About 15 mins later I got another text saying the order was complete and ready for pick up....Sheena called me back to say they had still not received the order. I told her I got a text message saying it was ready for pick up. She was FINALLY able to find our order and said "Oh, well, it's already made we can't change it now." I expressed my frustration that I had called and told her that I mentioned my husband was picking it up. She interrupted me and said "Well I didn't hear you, I didn't hear you". She was not at all apologetic and offered no solution, made zero effort to correct what was their error of not being able to find our order. My husband went to pick up the food and also spoke with Sheena who put her hands in his face, interrupted him while he was speaking, was argumentative, rude, unapologetic and again offered no solution. He had to insist that she remake the food (She knew exactly the dish and what he wanted done because I had told her on the phone but she had made NO effort to correct the situation). This poor customer service needs to be corrected before we will ever go back here! read more
