    Made it finally

This place has been on my radar since I lived in So Cal roughly 6-8 years ago. I gotta tell you it was totally worth the wait. It turns out they've even expanded. We shared a few personal size pizzas a bahn mi and Brussels sprouts and everything was on point. Friendly staff and plenty of area to sit. Great food worth the stop anytime.

We were looking for a nice casual spot to grab a quick and easy lunch and fortunately came across Industrial Eats in Buellton. What a fantastic find! We walked in and immediately got in line to order while we watched the crew working hard behind the counter. Everything on the tables from the other patrons looked and smelled so good we instantly knew we were in for a great experience! The portions aren't overly large but they're just right for anyone with a good appetite! We asked for some suggestions when we ordered and we weren't steered wrong! We ordered a BBQ brisket sandwich and petite filet, spinach, mushroom, mash, demi glace. It was all soooooo gooooood that we practically licked our plates! We also got some beer and wine to go with our meals and were very happy with our recommendations too (Kaena Syrah and Hook Line and Drinker Hazy IPA). Since the menu appears to change from time to time, it'll be interesting to see what they have available the next time we come in. Glad we have one more reason (excuse) to come back to Solvang and Buellton area! I hope you come in to experience the goodness that Industrial Eats has to offer too!

    Butcher paper wall menu

We stopped in after wine tasting for to-go items. I knew to expect that some things would be 86'ed by visiting later in the day. Many of the staff were courteous but all-business (of course, they were busy). The ever-changing list of seasonal menu items was posted on butcher paper on the wall. I had eaten here twice before and dined there, so this was my first carry-out experience with them. As with dine-in or carry out, drinks are in the cooler so grab your choice and bring to the counter to order your food. We ordered the brisket sandwich, which was small cubes of brisket rather than slices. The bun was soft and delicious and the slaw was well-dressed. The flavor of the brisket was good but the small cubes kept falling out of the sandwich. We also had the beet, hummus, citrus, lavash salad ($16), for which they smartly packed up the ingredients separately so we could self-assemble at home. The house-made lavash was crispy and delicious, almost like a garlicky pappadum. I loved that. The citrusy hummus was fine and the ruby beets unremarkable. Watching the plates come out of the kitchen, beautifully presented, and watching the industrious efforts of the cooks and servers in their open kitchen, I'd say it's still your best bet to eat in here, get there early for best selection, and read the reviews for stand-out items.

Came here twice during a trip to the Central Coast, and this place is a gem in Buellton. The layout of Industrial Eats is pretty simple, just line up to order at the front of the counter, get a number, and find an open spot. They deliver the food to your table once ready. In the both times I went, I got the Beets and Hummus with chips, the Miso Cod with avocado, and the beef tongue pastrami Reuben. All the dishes I tried here were delicious and the quality was fresh, with my favorite being the pastrami Reuben. The pastrami was very tender and not overly salty, and really liked how complimentary the horseradish was with the pastrami. My only complaint is how overwhelming the menu can be just reading it when ordering at the front. There was one guy in front of me that felt stressed out about what to order. The service here was pretty nice. I would visit here again to try their pizza.

    Beef Tongue Pastrami Rueben

I was looking for a quick and casual dinner in the Buellton area and I'm glad Yelp recommended me this spot! I ordered the Beef Tongue Pastrami Rueben and it was delicious! The sandwich was meaty and had great textures. The bread was crispy and buttery, the beef tongue was juicy and flavorful, the cheese and sauce was creamy and rich, and the sauerkraut was crunchy and tangy. All of these components combined made a tasty sandwich. I also liked how it came with a lettuce salad which provided a nice freshness to cut the richness of the sandwich. For around $20, this was a good value. You could even save the other half of the sandwich for another meal since it was very filling. Walking-in the interior was very social as you sit at shared tables with other people. The service was okay, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the cashier giving me some attitude when I asked what she'd recommend from the menu. Also, I asked for my order to-go, but they ended up just serving my order on a plate in-house. I didn't feel like asking again for my order to-go, so I ended up eating at the restaurant. I would recommend paying more attention to the customer's order in the future. They also have a parking lot in front and a self-serve water station. Overall, a good experience here. I would just recommend working on delivering a better customer experience.

    Salmon Carpaccio, Avocado, Shoyu

This place gets a 5 stars recognition only because Solvang was super packed and couldn't find a place we all wanted to go get lunch at. Randomly found this hidden gem only 10 mins away from the main area. It fit everyone's taste palette and I enjoyed every dish I tried. You sit at a table then get up and order your food, they'll give you a number and the food comes to you. We ordered the salmon carpaccio, petite filet, and the cuban. Let me tell you I was very quiet being in a big group only because I was enjoying my food too much. The carpaccio was so good!! We couldn't find any pictures on yelp or anywhere else but still decided to get it because it sounded too good and it didn't disappoint at all. Great way to start the meal! The petite filet was full of flavor and lastly the Cuban was extremely delicious and I devoured every piece of that sandwich. I asked for extra pickles because I love pickles and also added mustard and hot sauce myself. The environment was super chill and nice to have everyone get something different and didn't have to wait a long time. I would definitely be returning if I was every back in town. If your ever in town or visiting Solvang definitely have some food in town but if it's too overwhelming or crowded industry eats is the way to go.

Simple turkey sandwich with incredible flavor.
    Laura H.

How can a simple turkey sandwich be so perfect? I don't know but it was. An owner of a wine bar we frequent here in Southern California recommended I try it so we grabbed that and a pizza on our recent visit. Pizza was good, but with so many good pizza options now it wasn't the star of the show for us. Great flavor and perfectly cooked though. We got there right at opening on a Sunday so we had great service and didn't wait long for our food. It wasn't long before there was a constant line of about 5-10 people there the rest of our visit though. Great little industrial area we frequent since there's little tasting rooms in the area and we enjoy getting a beer at Figueroa which is right there as well. Will definitely be back - now that I'm looking on Yelp there are so many other things I'd love to try!

    Cesar salad and potato pizza
    Terri S.

I'm so disappointed, what was previously an excellent place has lost it's luster. The Cesar salad was drowning in dressing, a good amount of garlic, but thick layers of dressing on every crevice of the fresh, crispy lettuce (a point for not serving soggy lettuce), made this salad a disappointment. The potato, sage, cheese pizza was a compete miss. It was basically flavorless; thin slices of potato on pizza dough, with a few dollops of cheese and a minimal amount of scattered sage. We paid $3 for an egg on top and anticipated a soft sunny side up with a runny yoke to add flavor, instead we got a fully cooked solid yoke that added no flavor to the pizza. Too bad, this place used to be good, maybe we picked the wrong dishes. In light of seeing a staff member rinse his mouth out and spit into a sink at the bar, in full view of patrons, was more than a little disgusting and it will be crossed off our list.

Amazing food and done fast. Fresh delish and very busy all the time! They have many options that change every day and was a wonderful experience. Highly recommend for lunch!

    Dog friendly inside!
    Jami M.

We stopped here on our way home from Paso per a rec from a friend and it did not disappoint! It's tucked away in an industrial area but we easily found street parking. You order at the counter & they bring you your food. Decent wine. Food was great! They are a place that makes food until they run out so be ready for that if you come later. My crispy fish sandwich was delicious! Perfectly cooked fish. My hubs got the Ban Mi sandwich and raved about the flavor combination. I had been told the Cesar Salad was bomb and it was! Dog friendly inside as well! Def going to become a regular stop on our way to and fro central coast. Yum!

    Nacho S.

Food is always amazing, fresh and delicious. Staff is friendly and always accommodating. Pretty cool industrial space with community style sitting perfect to meet others if you want to have a small chat while waiting for your food. One of the best Caesar salads I've had in a while. A must try.

Unfortunately, Lana Del Rey finished the meal, but very pleased!
    John F.

The food was so amazing and different! Highly recommend! Service and ambience was great. We would highly recommend coming and checking out this place. If you're camping at flying flags are very resort. It is so close!

From the moment we walked in, it felt less like a restaurant and more like being invited into someone's passion project. The intimacy of the setting made it special right away--small group, shared experience, and a level of attention you just don't get in a traditional dining environment. Each course was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, but more importantly, it delivered. The food was the clear star--clean, intentional, and incredibly well-executed. Every dish felt like it had a purpose. The steak and mushrooms were a standout, and dessert was right there with it. The wine pairings introduced us to bottles we wouldn't normally find or order ourselves, which added to the experience. If anything, I would've loved even more storytelling around the pairings--how and why each wine was chosen to complement the dish--but that's a small note in an otherwise incredible night. What really elevated the evening was the host's passion. You can feel it in how the food is prepared, how the evening flows, and how guests are brought into the experience. It's marinated artichoke and fava bean spread, confit garlic, pine nuts, mint, and olive oil. Served with toasted bread. This was excellent! Unassuming from the outside, this hidden gem brings a blend of Latino cultures to the literal table. We've been here before and loved it, but they've since elevated their menu and added many more items. The wine list is overflowing with small-batch, boutique local wines--either Latino-owned or featuring Spanish varietals. I started with a glass of Victor Hugo Merlot, which was fantastic, but let me tell you about the Caelesta Cab/Mourvèdre. This sexxy red (shoutout to my girl Sexxy Red) was velvety, incredibly well-balanced, and perfectly complemented the paella fideuà. Junction serves fideo, or fideuà, sourced from Etto Pasta, and it's always nostalgic for me. This comforting yet stylish dish hugged me like it hadn't seen me in years. I teared up (yeah, I did...what about it?) and actually paused to consider: do I want to eat this whole dish in one sitting? Should I reconsider post-date-night plans because I might be too full? Nah--bring it on. The calories can be worked off later. The seafood paella fideuà got better with every bite. The shrimp, squid, rockfish, and mussels were cooked to perfection. I found myself clutching my linen napkin, wishing the dish would never end, hoping that my wife wouldn't notice that I'm about to make this paella my bitch, wishing I could endorse this paella to run for president and run more than two terms! Splooosh! The food and wine are the kind you'd tell your grandkids about around a campfire--meals that inspire the next generation of food lovers. But the staff were just as much the stars of the show. The space is on the smaller side but thoughtfully laid out. They were slammed--in the best way. It's the kind of place where you know whatever you order will be great, yet you worry service might slip with only two servers and no hostess. Both my wife and I have worked in service, so we appreciate a well-oiled machine--and I'm not talking about myself here. I'm talking about the legends who ran the floor that night. Too often, diners overlook the staff or don't fully understand the intensity of a Friday night rush. Major kudos to the chef and kitchen team, but may the odds forever be in favor of the front-of-house crew for flawlessly navigating the chaos. Luke Estrella was definitely getting his steps in, along with his teammate, but they always made time to pour wine, share insights, and connect with guests--all while smiling and putting out fires left and right. Bravo. 4 stars cause everyone could use room to grow.

Note that this is a review specifically for a private event (wedding lunch reception)…read more My wife and I recently got married at the Santa Barbara Courthouse and were looking for a restaurant to host a lunch reception and State & Fig absolutely delivered. A 5/5 experience and we would certainly work with them again. We were in contact with Serina for about a year before the wedding and she was very accommodating, responsive, and helpful throughout the entire process. We initially met with her to discuss our vision, had a food and cake tasting, and also a final walk through with our coordinator to ensure everything was smooth. In terms of food, atmosphere, and service, I would want to go through all three in detail: 1) Food: We had a lunch style buffet and the food options were fresh and many of our guests gave very positive feedback and took shameless second trips. Serina and the owner (Patrick) were able to source many of the ingredients seasonally and cater to our guests' palate (Asian-inspired, etc.). We had a tasting and they took our feedback into consideration in earnest. Moreover, our strawberry cake was AMAZING. 2) Atmosphere: The restaurant had a great layout for our party size (~90 or so) with seating inside, outside, and upstairs. This arrangement allowed us to have an intimate reception despite having a lot of guests. The decor in the restaurant is minimal, which allows customization to make the space truly our own. State & Fig allowed us to borrow a few decorations, which was generous. 3) Service: The two points before were already excellent, but State & Fig's outstanding service took the lunch reception to another level. Serina was a joy to work with in terms of bringing our vision to life and was always there to make things easy for us. Patrick ensured that this was a special day for us, and encouraged us to soak it in and enjoy it as much as we can. And the wait staff and servers on the day of were professional and attentive. For that, we are immensely grateful. There were other restaurants that we toured before selecting S&F, and it was clear that hosting the reception would simply be a transactional business affair. This felt like a genuine desire to make our special day a memorable experience. Overall, a 5/5 experience and we hope that others will be able to have State & Fig host their special day. P.S. A funny aside: we met a couple sitting next to us during our tasting, who were returning to celebrate their anniversary after getting married at S&F. They told us we were in good hands and not to worry, and we AGREE.

They had classic rock playing in the background. It was a nice open dining area with large windows as you can see. They had a small arcade area to the left of the entrance. I would stop by again if I found myself near/in Buellton or heading up the 101! I ended up ditching the fork and knife bc I'm a heathen and was tired from driving. Ah, good times.

For us, we had the privilege of being helped by Gino himself. You can tell the care and knowledge someone has when it is their place, and customer service is priority. He answered many questions, made modifications as requested, and did it all with a smile. We enjoyed kid's meals, chicken parmesan, garlic bread, salads, and pizza. Our plates were wiped clean! Everything tasted so fresh, and was plated with care. The restaurant seating area is spacious, with tables and chairs, and many facing out a window. There is a fun aracde gaming area, and we definitely loved it! The vibes totally reminded me of our local pizzeria from my childhood. Our family was so content after eating, and couldn't wait to call other family members back home to tell them about it. When we are in this area for future trips, this will be a "must stop" for us. Well done!
