Upon closer inspection of the sterno boxes they said "wick chafing fuel" so I mentioned it. The employee then said they were not gel. All their flat-cap sternos are rusted, apparently because one burst open on the rest according to the employee. Not very reassuring... I asked if I could uncap one to see if the wick was correct and neither the employee or I could get the cap undone. I asked if he had any tools we could use. He went to the back said all the guys were out with tools and then left me in the aisle and headed back up front. Not the greatest customer service or knowledge on their part...

Kaiti seemed knowledgeable and the process was fairly easy. We made our original purchase on 12/27/25 and were told they would be delivered in about 4 weeks. Well, 6.5 weeks later on 2/10/26 they were FINALLY delivered. KraftMaid seemed like a good quality cabinet but their manufacturing needs major help. We had TWO different cabinets that only had shelf holes on one side. One cabinet with a HUGE scratch on the front frame. One cabinet didn't have the drawer face connected and was sent separately without the proper hardware to install (it wasn't just simply screwing it in). One cabinet that had the wrong door swing. One cabinet the shelf holes started at 7" from the bottom and the other side 7.25". Makes great for level shelves. Finally our end panels for our island were ordered too thick so they would stick out. We went back to Hood's with the list of problems and Kaiti was very apologetic and said she would have everything fixed. We had already installed the 2 uppers without the shelf holes because we didn't notice it until we went to put the shelves in. She said since we did that already she wouldn't order new ones and instead give us a discount. We were ok with that. She also said we would get some sort of reimbursement for the other issues as well, she just needed to contact KraftMaid. Moving forward, the upper cabinet with the large scratch was reordered along with the end panels. She said expect them in 3-4 weeks. This was on 2/18/26. We did not receive the order until 3/26 which was a whole fiasco in itself because they wanted to wait until the following week because they didn't have delivery drivers. Luckily, someone outside of cabinets, I think his name was Matt and the only helpful one at Hood's, got my call and personally picked them up from the local warehouse and delivered it to us. He was awesome. Here's the next best part, Kaiti ordered the WRONG end panels AGAIN!! We're going on 3 months now from our original order date. We go speak with the cabinet manager, Randy, and told him everything. He said he had talked to Kaiti about giving us some reimbursement but she never followed through. Her communication skills were terrible. They only thing she kept relaying is that she gets to retire in several months. She should have retired before we purchased our cabinets. Anyway, Randy only offered us a reimbursement of $250 after spending over $14k on our cabinets. We finally got $500 out of him. Should have pushed for more but we were fed up at this point. He went ahead and ordered the correct end panels and said he would have them expedited and we should have them in no more than 2 weeks. Ha! Ha! This was 3/26 and our end panels finally arrived on 4/22. We will NEVER return to Hood's again. It was an absolute shit show. Almost 4 months for all our correct pieces to come in.

Time and travel my loss as they refunded item price. Next item was a mirrored medicine cabinet which ended up having a cracked mirror. I'll eat this one. Next is two toilets (don't ever bid on the toilets!!!) neither one had parts that were compatible. Professional plumbers tried to install but there was no way the bowls and tanks could be put together. Emailed Bill as to what recourse I had, no reply. Lost time and $$ on these two as well as plumbers time = $$. Still good deals to be had but not without being a cautious, educated bidder.

I came to St Peters, to pick-up some lawn bags and left with lawn bags and a new Christmas tree at a sale price that was cheaper then any of the other places I shopped. This journey began about two years ago. No...seriously, stay with me…read more.. We adopted a little five month old puppy from the St. Louis Humane Society two years ago. She dug a big hole in the middle of our carpet. I love her so much, I didn't care, however it would have to be fixed. We threw a rug over it. Okay, fast forward to next year and hubby has some health issues that kept us busy for a long time. Fast forward six months and we realized that we still have a hole in the carpet. We decide it's time to do something. Of course we decide that..."Hey, if we're going to do this, we might as well....." You know how it goes. We start visiting carpet places and places that have carpet; people came and measured the house. We never hear back from one place and the other place kept calling us with different figures every time and laminate where the carpet goes and carpet where the laminate goes. After the third time, I'm thinking; do you really want someone installing a whole bunch of flooring if they can't even get the paperwork right? So...we give up and buy a new rug for the hole. Fast forward three months and we are in the Edwardsville area looking around and we see Archview flooring. We park and look at each other. Do we really want to try this again? We both sigh and go in. I'm expecting things to go south pretty quick. Then we meet Bryan. Bryan is friendly, knowledgeable and easy to talk with. He seems to understand exactly what we want and our budget. It is like talking to a good friend. Archview has all the top brands and lots of samples to take home; we took home lots! Later Bryan comes and measures the house. So far so good. When we go back in later to really get serious about picking out our floors, Bryan goes over pricing again. We actually got a little carried away with what we wanted to do, so we had to shave a few things off, which ended up being a good thing. Once we settled on what we wanted, Bryan put in the order and we got on the install list. We could not believe it! We had actually ordered new laminate and carpet! Bryan made the whole process easy and painless! Woo Hoo! Now, our sights are set on the install. The day arrived and three men showed up right on time. They were professional, friendly and courteous. Seriously, a bunch of great guys. They respected my antiques when they moved things too, which I appreciated. You could tell they knew what they were doing! The install went perfectly! I love my floors! I love walking around on my new laminate which by the way is from Armstrong Audacity and it looks like real wood; it's gorgeous! The carpet is beautiful and the white laminate by Shaw in the bedroom turned out wonderful; just like I dreamed it! Before the installers left, one of them even fixed a spot on our entryway laminate that they hadn't even installed. These guys worked hard and did a spectacular job! This journey could not have gone better, once we found Archview that is! If you are reading this and you need new flooring; Go to Archview Flooring!
