The food is good, although in the burger that I had today, there was cartilage chunks and bone fragments in the ground beef. This could be a choking hazard for anyone and especially for a small child. I had to eat slowly and remove these inedible bits from my mouth. Do better for the sake of the community and the customers that keep your business standing. San Martians are not far from other restaurants here and in Austin that will provide everything and more than you do. Contemporary dining is cool, but you're doing it wrong when your ingredients and staff are subpar. read more

Pretty cool place! They have the ability to open up their garage doors and let some fresh air in. There is plenty of seating inside and out and it is dog friendly. I was a bit confused as it said on the menu to "order at counter" and I saw the bar with a typed up sign that said "order here". So I placed my order there for food and drinks (the bartender looked a bit confused). It wasn't until I was back at my table trying to figure out why they had waitstaff delivering drinks, that I understood. Back by the kitchen window, there was a counter where you ordered. Any drinks, the bartenders would make and a server would deliver it to your table. Oh! I was confused since I couldn't really see the counter and there wasn't a sign or anything. I wish they had a sign. The menu was pretty big for brunch, and they had a live band as well. While they seemed to have a big amount of draft beer, not all were listed, and not all of the taps had tap handles representing what they were so I didn't want to bother the bartender and ask what 10 unmarked ones were. I had a beer and my husband had the Industry Bloody, which was phenomenal! It was just the right amount of spice and smoke without being overwhelming. To eat I had That Brunch Sausage Thing, which was very good, I just wish it was a larger portion as it didn't fill me up (I was starving). Went in for brunch menu today, the setting is open seating, garage doors open which was not bad as it was a nice day. Walk up to order and given a number to get served, after that you dont see a server again. Your card us kept open, as in a bar tab so you can get additional drinks. Hmmm. The food was alright, I had the The Sausage Thing, real name, it was alright. The sausage had a breading of sort which was I teresting and the salad was over dressed. My companion got the pig pancakes, the pulled pork was sour, but the pancakes and bacon were good. Made the unfortunate mistake of going to Industry on a Sunday while traveling through San Marcos. On three separate occasions, the on-site manager was rude, unwelcoming and disrespectful. We were willing to give the benefit of the doubt for one or maybe two instances, but after the third unprofessional comment from the manager, it was time to leave. Upon confronting the manager, he tried really hard to play the victim role and chalk it all up to a misunderstanding. Again, three separate occasions would make it highly unlikely they were all misunderstandings. Would highly suggest that ownership implement some type of self-development training to their leadership staff to help manage ego and improve overall communication. read more

We came down from Dallas and made industry our 1st-night-in-town place for drinks and dinner. We had an awesome time with Thor as our bartender last time we were in town. He was there this time and we got to say hi again. We sat at the bar and Raina took great care of us! We tried 2 lagers from different TX breweries and had some great shots. Industry is always a great place for some mimosas and a great breakfast. They have a ton of variety and really do their food so well. I've had tons of different items from here and have never had anything I didn't really enjoy. The breakfast brisket sandwich is great! I had a chili made from "all our smoked meats" that was very spicy and pretty filling with sweet potato fries and a blackberry and some exotic fruit drink that was yellow in the glass and did not seem blackberry at all, but it was ok. Still five stars! Got into town and wanted some dinner with Mrs. R. and we decided (i.e., I politely pleaded for) Industry. I got the half a smoked chicken together with the Mac and Cheese. Both were delicious. The chicken was fantastic: a combination of delicious smoky flavor and the chimichurri, which added already tasty chicken. The mac and cheese was absolutely transcendent. The cheese was just spicy enough to give an added kick to something already amazing. I also got drinks, and the drink I want to praise is the seasonal Spiked Cacao, which is a delicious alcoholic hot cocoa that was perfect finish to a great meal. I am super excited to update my review on my favorite place in San Marcos, Industry. I've been back a few times since my lackluster 3 star review, and they have been slaying all day so I think they are really 5 star! Most recently I was at Industry this week for a huge departmental event. We filled up over three tables, and the service was impeccable. The food was great, and the drinks were flowing. Jay was taking great care of us at the counter, and Siri was an amazing waitress who took care of our entire party. They had other great staff members helping out in the kitchen and the floor. Everyone's food was correct and tasty. Thanks, Industry, for re-affirming my love of your place. I continue to think this is a great place for parties, after work happy hours, and just lunch or dinner with their awesome menu that spans from vegan to meaty and back again. My first time here and I love it! The food was delicious and reasonably priced. My boyfriend and I definitely had left overs. My favorite was definitely the sweet benny and chili cheese fries. I'm not usually a chili cheese fry fan but this chili is legitimately so delicious with chunks of brisket in it! The biscuit and jam combo is delcious but it was definitely more suited for 3 to 4 people instead of 2 with other dishes ordered. In hindsight, ordering 2 types of fried potatoes was probably over kill but still delicious none the less. I didn't try the half off mimosas but for sure next time, I'll definitely be getting a cocktail to try! The staff was super friendly and great at getting our food out in a timely manner. The atmosphere: as the name implies, it has a very industrial vibe. Lots of concrete and metal, with a very high ceiling. This makes the place a bit loud. They have large glass garage doors that they open on temperate days. You order at the counter, they open a tab for you and give you a number for your table. If you know what drinks you want, you can order when you order your food. If you need to see what they have at the bar, you just walk on over there, give them your last name, and they'll add it to your tab. If you want, you can just leave when you're ready without closing out, and they'll add 18% gratuity to your tab. The food: ginormous portions, fresh, and delivered to your table in a decent amount of time. I know the 'Shroom wrap is supposed to be smoked mushrooms as described on the menu, but it was WAAYYY too smoky for my tastes. I only ate half of it and took the rest to go. I was still tasting the smoke the next day and couldn't bring myself to eat the leftovers. Full bar, 10 beers on tap and even wine on tap. Nice covered patio and a ping pong table. USB and electrical chargers under the counter at the bar. Yes, the patio is dog friendly - I witnessed a dog fight here... yay. Keep your four-legged friends at home or at the dog park. The fish and chips were a fan favorite at the table. There was one little bone found in one fish, but that wasn't a huge deal. The fries were bomb and the chipotle sauce was to die for. The queso was delicious. The Chilaquiles had a egg on top that was cooked perfectly. You can't go wrong with the biscuits and gravy. On Sundays they do 3$ mimosas and 12$ carafes which was a perfect Sunday funday. We ordered their signature Brussels Sprouts which, were fantastic. We also ordered their industry burger yummy and sweet potato fries and regular fries. It was Margarita Monday. I had one of those as well. Delicious I gave this establishment a five simply because they deserve it!! Job well done Industry Staff!! One caveat about this establishment don't use your card they will hold monies from your account and will not be place back into your account until 3 to 4 days. I recommend paying with cash. My wife and I tried this place out after we met the owner, Harlan, during a vendor fair in our community. He had us try samples of their crispy Brussels sprouts and we knew we needed to stop by and check it out. So, after performing our civic duty by voting early, we headed out to Industry for lunch. Located off South Guadalupe St. and East MLK Dr. in what looks like a former industrial building with exposed ceilings and oversized garage doors with glass all around, it exuded a hip vibe. We went up to the counter, placed our orders, presented our credit card to "open a tab" and settled our tab before we left...like a bar tab, I suppose. In any case, we ordered the Crispy Brussels Sprouts as appetizers and my wife ordered the Brisket Street Tacos (3 pieces) while I opted for the Banh Mi Tacos (3 pieces). My wife also ordered a diet soda to go with her meal. The Brussels Sprouts were as good as we tried them at the vendor fair...this was actually even better since it was served warm. It had a crispy exterior with just the right blend of sweetness and tanginess. Best part of our meal by far. The tacos were just OK. The banh mi tacos came with an overpowering hoisin sauce that overshadowed the pickled vegetables. The shredded meat was smoky and tender but the hoisin sauce effectively muted it. The brisket street tacos had a similarly bold BBQ sauce which overpowered the other flavors...they both lacked depth of flavors. My wife prefers to taste everything then saves the best taste for last. For this meal, she tried her tacos, my tacos and the appetizer...and she made sure to save some crispy Brussels sprouts for her last bite...best part of the meal. Lunch for 2 with tip came out to just under $36. There is wifi but you have to ask for the code. Ample parking available. read more

Every time I've been up there this girl-manager is always running around sitting at tables talking to random guys. Always asking everybody if they're OK only once coming to my table to give me my drinks that I originally ordered. Giving me dirty looks because she's sneaking around. Staff talking about things they should not be talking about during work hours-- including in front of guests. After hours activities at work they should not be doing. I have sent a couple emails and they just got passed around the workplace for all the employees to see and laugh at how embarrassed I am and nobody still responded to me. I have yet to see a response from this place about the situations that have gone on here and how it has affected This workplace. It will continue to be a problem until it gets addressed. My meal was okay, I wasn't really feeling the chicken. By the time my chicken came out the queso had sort of formed a film over the top of it so I knew it had sat there for a little bit. The rice and beans that come as a side were not really good either. Totally forgettable. Our queso was supposed to be our appetizer but came out after our food which defeated the purpose. The tacos i ordered were so delicious! The House margarita went well with it too, I think they were running some sort of happy hour when I ate there. The space is cool too, I like that it's lots of natural lighting and the outdoor feel gave it a relaxed atmosphere. You can sit outside or in and depending on the weather the garage doors are either up or down. Enjoyed a great brunch with 5 others. The staff was fantastic and really helped us navigate the menu. The bloody was spicy and smoky flavored with a good pour. Others enjoyed mimosas with passion fruit juice. Ordered several things off menu, fish and chips really well fried and fries hot and crispy, biscuits and sausage gravy very sage forward thus different from the normal which was an interesting take, brunch bowl (Vg) was huge with everything but the kitchen sink in it and chilaquiles.
