We head to the counter and order the lunch plate special of 1/4 Chicken Jerk which comes with rice and beans and cabbage sides. The clerk is all business. The plate takes about 10 minutes to prep. Most people are taking their orders to go, but we eat at a table in the dining room. The jerk chicken tastes excellent - spicy, tender and moist. The enormous helping of rice and beans are flavorful, perfectly seasoned. The cabbage/carrot mix is very good. The portions are generous and shareable. Prices are very reasonable. There is a 3% surcharge for credit cards use. We paid cash. There is shared parking in the strip mall lot. The restrooms are immaculate. I recommend highly. The food is great.

The server was very friendly and attentive although we did have to chase her down for the bill which wasn't really a problem. Plan on having cash to tip because once she ran my card, she said she didn't have a way to add tip to the bill or the credit card slip. Maybe you can add it ahead of time, but I didn't think to ask before. Luckily our party had some cash to tip. We really enjoyed all of the food and will definitely be back soon.

Normally, the server brings a glass of water out to the patrons too, but that was not the case here. I had to even track down the server to take my order. The staff there is friendly enough, but as I have mentioned, they are very hard to communicate with. They offer a limited menu that rotates based on the day of week. This is an authentic restaurant. I mean authentic, authentic. communicating with them was very difficult. They did not understand a word I said and vice versa. Somehow I was able to place my order, even though it took a while. I went with the fried goat, which came with french fries, plantains and slaw. I ended up having to point out the drink I wanted in the cooler behind the bar.
