Holy cow. Just visited for the first time. Absolutely amazing. We sat at the bar and Elena helped us pick drinks and food that would cover our seafood cravings. I had a passion fruit mixed drink- amazing! For dinner I had the ahi tuna and my husband had a mixed seafood dish with a rich brown sauce. His fish was outrageously big and a steal for the price. Long story short, I had some of the best tostadas here. This is located near Fort Harrison State Park, and I pass by it often and I always wanted to check it out. This place was packed when we arrived for early dinner. But wait was only 5 minutes. They decorated the entire place with beach house theme and it is so cute. Colorful. They have a full bar as well. The server notified us that since they are very busy the food is taking a bit longer. I appreciate the heads up. They have so many things on the menu and they are all written in Spanish only (which is a good sign for me). There were many photos as well so it helped me pick what I wanted. I tried "trilogía de mariscos" tostadas. One with shrimp, one with fish and one with octopus. The food took about 25 minutes but at least they told us about it ahead of time, and we had chips and salsa to munch on. My tostadas came with a lot of ceviche. They even had avocado slices. Then I knew why they had good reviews both on Yelp and Google. They were so delicious. Squeezing some lime wedges on them made them even better. Again, the service was slow. It was hard to find our server and it took us 10 minutes to get our check. But all in all, I'm hooked on their tostadas and I cannot wait to go back there already. read more

We went on a Friday night. The room was very attractive with white chairs and table cloths. I had called ahead because the menu was in Spanish. We could interpret certain words but not all and the manager said we would be provided with an English menu I have to be honest. A lot is being done in Lawrence to improve the Pendleton Pike reputation. I was leery of the location of the restaurant but we had gone to Mama's Korean and it is next door so we gave it a try We were immediately greeted by the manager and given a table to make us feel comfortable. Wonderful flour chips and salsa. We ordered drinks. O my gosh, the mojito I had was wonderful and lasted the whole evening My husband ordered a deep fried fish and I had coconut shrimp. Deffinately a must try! If you like Mexican food and seafood, which I love both, then please stop by this little treasure. I thought this was Caribbean place, but it seems more Mexican. But the menu is so loaded there could be Caribbean dishes on there. Enough about that! So far I really enjoyed this play. I got a to go on my first visit but Deffinately want to come back with friends or family and sit down and enjoy the lovely dining area. They have a stage and I believe they have live music on Saturday and Wednesday nights. Definately Spanish speaking staff so brush up on your Espanol. They do have menus in English. I love the decor, now that looks very Caribbean. The lights. The white tables all the space is very beautiful. They do have a bar area as well and lots of tvs all through the restaurant. "Warning: this Mexican seafood restaurant is so good, you may need to buy a new wardrobe. I swear, I've tried every dish on the menu (twice) and each bite is more delicious than the last. The shrimp tacos? Divine. The shrimp tostadas Heavenly. The grilled fish? Ah, just take my money already! And don't even get me started on the guac - I've gained 5 pounds just from scooping it onto tortilla chips. But honestly, it's worth it. I had lunch there for the first time yesterday and had the Camarones Rancheros, which is listed as a new item. It was great! The shrimp were perfectly cooked in a spicy sauce with tomatoes, peppers, and onions. I loved every bite and, though I'm not a light eater, had enough left over to take home for supper. As another reviewer may have mentioned, the two salsas brought out were very hot, which is fine for me. I'll be back! read more

I was literally going to order something but first I had to use the bathroom and I was waiting on my boyfriend to meet me there. I was instantly stop and told I had to order my food first. I had to use it VERY bad so I politely told him. He told me "no" and he was very rude about it. After I came I out the bathroom he once again rudely ask me "where's your order?" I just walked right pass him because that whole encounter ruined it for me. I was already having a really bad day and I just wanted to try something new to cheer me up. Their food look's really good but the way they treat people is disgusting. He also yelled " Fuck you" on my way out so yeah I will not be come back. What a surprising find on Pendleton PIke. We have passed the restaurant a zillion times but have never stopped. I was encouraged to try it based on Suzanne K.'s review mentioning that the manager was welcoming and they had menus in English. And how extensive the menus are with numerous pages and lots of pictures! (I really like pictures). And the food I saw going by actually looked as appetizing as the pictures. There are so many seafood dishes, it will be hard to choose. My husband got the seafood "broth." Broth is a misnomer. The brought him what amounted to a seafood platter nestled in a savory soup that had the perfect little kick at the end. My husband has a "healthy" appetite and still brought some of his seafood home. I went the very safe route and ordered the shrimp tacos. My plate arrived with very generously filled tacos, salad and beans (I asked for beans instead of the usual rice). I have never had this many shrimp on a taco and there was something wonderfully different about the shells. Service was slow,(I assume they were making his "broth" upon order. It was worth waiting for) but friendly and the music was way too loud, but the restaurant is bright and cheerful and appeared to be clean. We would definitely go back to Caribe and next time I might venture beyond the ever-safe shrimp tacos. read more

I was driving to another restaurant when the sign caught my eye. The former "Outside In Bar" was now a seafood restaurant. When I walked in I noticed a life music setup. Found that one night a week, Wednesday night, they have Latin music from seven to midnight. The decor was simple and clean. I decided to give it a try and was not disappointed.
