I just within the last 24 hours purchased a brand new CR-V and had issues with the camera/computer system. I called this Honda dealer (where I purchased the car) and was told I did not need an appointment. So I went in after work and Kevin in the service department was incredibly rude. They would not even look at my car for less than $300 he said and he also told me it would take days to even look at it. I was very upset, obviously. So when I went to work in Bloomington I visited that Honda dealer. They were able to squeeze me in that day (they were very busy) and their shuttle drove me back to work. Apparently the sensor in the right front bumper needed recalibrated and it was free of charge. The alert has gone off, the car is fixed, their shuttle came and picked me up from work again and gave me back my car free of charge. I will never ever again go back to this Indy Honda dealer solely because of how they treated me when I had a computer issue with my 2019 CRV I had just spent over $30,000 on less than 24 hours before asking them for help. With all the other Honda dealers in Indy I would strong encourage customers to avoid this particular dealer. read more

Very bad experience, would not recommend Indy Honda to anyone. I recently purchased a new car and all the paperwork I signed the day I bought it had an incorrect VIN number on them. I was contacted some days after the purchase and made an appointment to go there and "fix" the problem. When I got there they did not have the documents ready for me to sign and said they would send them by email the next business day. They didn't send and didn't even let me know about the delay. I contacted them many times after that and one week later they sent me the documents for me to sign by email. However I have already requested 5 times for a copy of the documents with the authorized dealership representative signature and have not received them yet. I don't get updates when I ask for them and I am still waiting for the problem to be resolved 25 days after the purchase, very frustrating. read more

Took my 1993 Geo Metro here because it was the only place in the Indianapolis area that said they "had a guy" who could look at it (yes, it is old, but I love this ragtop, with only 90K miles on it). Getting ready for a MAJOR trip, I said "look it over and tell me about anything it needs". They replaced a four inch piece of tubing (cost: $2.94) which took them MAYBE 2 minutes (they didn't have to remove anything to get to it). Total bill: $77.94. Bad enough to make me not go there again, but that's only the beginning. I was told I needed new motor mounts (cost: $360), but I declined this and took it to another auto repair shop. Conclusion: motor mounts are fine. Conclusion: They are either exceptionally dishonest or completely incompetent. Either way, I advise you to avoid the service department. I had posted this review a couple months ago after getting a used car from this place. The owner responded to my review asking me to call about the issue. I called the number that was given in the response and explained why I was calling, the lady that answered the phone forwarded me to David Piercefield and I was sent straight to voicemail. I left a message that included my name and number and why I was calling. Two weeks went by so I called the dealership again explaining my situation yet again and that I had called a couple weeks prior and was never called back about it. This time the guy who answered the phone told me he would write my name down and let David know to call me back. A couple more weeks went by and still no call or voicemail from them. I called a third time and was told that there wasn't someone available to talk to me. I got a used 2010 Nissan Murano from this dealership and am fully aware of the risks that go into buying a used car. However we were told the only fixes needed on the car would be an oil change and new tires which is far from the truth. We have spent almost double what the car cost in fixing things just to make it safe to drive. I have a running excel sheet of all the repairs we've done since we got the car, which has reached well over 8,000 in just repair fees. I understand people are busy and life happens but I tried for 2 months to get ahold of someone and no one would give me the time of day. The car was in extremely unsafe condition and should not have been sold to us without the dealership making us aware of the long list of problems the car had. At the very least someone should have been professional about it and talked to me about it, especially when they reached out to me telling me to give them a call In the first place. 1 star is more than they deserve. read more

We have gone to their service department for years. This time we had to tow our car in as it would not start. It took 3 days for them to connect us with the car- no return phone calls. No one communicated within the service department. Once the connection made, the mechanic took 2 more days to get back to us. Every time WE called, no one knew what was going on with the car and HAD to get back to us. THEN the mechanic working on our car went on vacation and no one picked up the work on it!?!? It sat again until we called and complained. The second mechanic called to ask if we wanted new or after market parts. We returned his call within an hour. NO ONE GAVE HIM THE INFO!!! Being a diehard Honda owner, I only believe in giving my girl the best!! That being said I took my 06' Honda Odyssey Touring to Indy Honda for fuel service diagnistic costing $150. There is a waiting room filled with snacks and refreshments. Indy Honda came back with I had to pay $5K+ to replace my engine (had less than 100K miles) with a used one, yet my van had just been driven to Texas! The service dept was very nasty to me and when asked claimed the general manager or service supervisor's name could not be furnished. Needless to say, out $150, I towed my van to Ed Martin Honda at my expense and the engine was tested and fine. I replaced the fuel pump and it drives like a charm now! The story starts 3 months ago when we took our '11 accord in for some front end ins. work to be done. Our car was in the shop for 4 days, which should have been 2 days tops. When we received the car, the steering was a bit off but didn't notice much with in town driving Fast fwd 3 months and after a 2000 mile trip I took the car back in because the front end suspension was not right. After taking my car in for a 8:45 appt, I called a 5:45 to ask the status only to hear they were just getting to it. The next day I finally received a call at 2pm saying everything was ready. I get to the dealer and I get stuck with a $90 service bill!! Next to being called a lier, they would not stand up for their previous service work. Not to mention a 2 day appt for an alignment. The best part was it took 45 mins to be able to checkout after my service guy had to consult 'Bart' to make sure I had to pay, only to silently hand me my bill w/out a thank you or we hope everything is ok.. After $3500 in previous insurance work, I had to pay another $90 to make it right. We own two Hondas and bought both at Indy Honda. I'm sure most of you reading this know what a hassle buying a car from a dealer can be. Well, it was still a hassle here but that is the fault of the system, not the staff. The sales staff was professional and easy enough to work with. We left with what we felt were good deals. Do your research online before shopping and the process is much simpler. We also get our cars serviced here. Of course, they are newer Hondas so the only servicing they have needed is the routine stuff like oil changes. The service staff is always busy so call ahead and make an appointment. It is fast and quality service. I don't care for their commercials but I think every car dealer commercial is annoying. The experience started great with Ryan Adams, our salesman. He was friendly, not pushy, and went out of his way to help my wife find the car she wanted, a 2019 Passport. Then they sourced the right color vehicle from another dealer. There was a misunderstanding with a rebate, but they threw in window tint and discounted rust prevention. We dropped it off to have this done and they gave us a really nice Accord for a loaner. After that is when it all went downhill. A week after purchase, they text my wife to let us know the dealer they got the car from won't release the title and they need us to return the vehicle and they will secure the same color/model and bring it in. We felt this was ridiculous and they should handle the problem with the other dealer, but we were willing to negotiate, and were slapped in the face with a laughable offer of 2 free oil changes for our trouble, when we would have to make several more 45 minute trips to do the swap, and re-do the tint and rust prevention, as well as re-do all of our financing with our lender etc. Not just as simple as a swap and go, and our inconvenience was met with an attitude and a shrug. Well, we couldn't get in that day due to my wife's schedule. The day before we were scheduled to go in, I got in a car accident so we couldn't make it in to do the swap. Then Ryan Piercy, who I believe is either a finance or sales manager there, proceeded to treat us rudely and harass us about when we would bring the car back. We felt Indy Honda should work this problem out, and she worked all week and then went out of town. So, I contacted a lawyer friend of the family to get advice, and she made a phone call to Ryan Piercy, who proceeded to be very rude to her and said he didn't know why I (myself) was having her call when it isn't his car, that the number was his personal phone and it was his day off and he was terminating the call with out lawyer. He had no problem blowing up my phone and my wife's phone all day, but didn't like being contacted by the lawyer. So, then I contacted Honda, USA to get advice from them, and they put me in contact with a district customer service rep. Guess what happens the next day? My wife gets a text saying the issue with the other dealership has been cleared up. They turned a pleasant, fun buying experience with a great, non-pushy salesman, Ryan Adams, into a stressful ridiculous nightmare of an experience with Ryan Piercy's lack of professionalism and bad attitude. Seeing as I just got into an accident, and my pleasant experience with out salesman, I was willing to look at another purchase from them, but that was ruined, and they will no longer receive any business from us, for sales, parts, or service. Enjoy completely wasting your time and being patronized? This is the place for you! On the other hand, if you prefer your car actually get fixed and crave some good respectful customer service, you should choose LITERALLY anywhere else but this dealership. Buckle your seatbelts and please keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times, it's about to be a long, bumpy ride: Day One (Thursday): I arrive at Indy Honda at 4:50pm after work, since my car decided to go berserk and the dashboard lit up with error messages. The service representative I was paired with (Dustin), proceeds to report, "It was a pretty light day today, so I just sent all my mechanics home early. If you would have been here about a half an hour ago I could have had someone look at your car." Here's where I would just like to point out Indy Honda's "service" hours are supposed to last until 7pm every day except Sunday, and I arrived over two hours before that, as soon as I could leave work. Dustin proceeds to set me up with an appointment for 8:45am the next morning (luckily I happened to have the day off). Day Two(Friday): I arrive at 8:30am, prior to my scheduled appointment time. Dustin reported that I could be shuttled home or wait for them to look at my car, to which I responded I would like to wait but requested someone come out to talk to me before any work was done on my car. Surely, I thought, it wouldn't take too long to run diagnostics and figure out the issue, especially considering I had an appointment. WRONG. Promptly TWO. HOURS. later, after they finished I'm sure every oil change and tire patch that came in both before and after me, Dustin finally came back out to speak with me. And guess what? They "don't have the appropriate parts to fix the car," he reports. Even better? They "don't have the appropriate mechanics to fix the car" on the weekends or evenings, he tells me. He says the only time I can come in to get my car fixed is Monday-Friday before 2:15pm at the latest (which might be totally fine if you weren't a 26 year old working a full time job trying to pay off student loans). What's better than that? He reports to me, "you can 'probably' still drive on it." Dustin says he will call me tomorrow (Saturday), when the appropriate parts arrive so I can schedule my appointment... Day Six (Tuesday): ...crickets. No call from Dustin. I call him to follow up and ask why I haven't been contacted, to which he first verified my phone number and then proceeded to argue with me about how he had called me yesterday (Monday) but made no mention of leaving a voicemail or attempting to call back when I never contacted him back. I repeated to him that I never received a phone cal, voicemail, or any form of contact from him, to which he says, "oh, maybe I dialed the number wrong or something. Your parts have been here since Saturday." By now, the earliest appointment possible is not until Friday, over a week after I had first brought my car in. Day Eight (Friday): By the grace of God my boyfriend had the day off and was willing to take one for the team by taking my car back in for me. I had warned him about the customer service I had received and I thought sending a male figure in my place might make things different, but unfortunately I was very wrong. My boyfriend reported back a similar experience and very matter-of-factory referred to Dustin as a douche, which I have just come to find amusing at this point. When my boyfriend arrives for the service appointment that was scheduled around 8:45am, Dustin proceeds to tell him the car was going to take 3+ hours to fix and that he "already told me" this prior to my appointment. WRONG AGAIN. my boyfriend was taken home by the complimentary shuttle service to then hear nothing back for almost the entire day. Over SIX. HOURS. LATER. He gets a call to report Dustin actually didn't order all the correct parts (ARE THE KIDDING ME AT THIS POINT)?! They politely offered a rental car but yet again the car would not be worked on until Monday because they "didn't have the right mechanics" on the weekend. Day Eleven (Monday): I must have caused Dustin emotional trauma of some sort because when my car was FINALLY FINISHED (praise Jesus), he called my boyfriend to tell him the exciting news instead of me. Considering the incompetence of this Dustin character I am now patiently playing the waiting game, I would not be surprised if he screwed something else up on my car completely. If you made it this far, I thank you for listening to my ramblings and I strongly urge you to consider choosing anywhere... seriously any other dealership or mechanic other than Indy Honda. This is not my first poor experience there but I think it's safe to say I will not be returning after this. My family has been buying their Honda's from here for years and has mostly dealt with the same person in doing so. As with most dealerships, we have been given loyalty discounts and tend to get a pretty good deal on the purchase or lease of new vehicles. I personally have only bought one vehicle from this location, but I regularly use their service department. When I purchased my vehicle 5 years ago, I was given a Honda coupon booklet that gave me discounts in the service department. Every time I have an oil change or tune up, I try to use a coupon for a discount. The nice thing about Indy Honda, if your service takes longer than expected, they will either give you a discount or usually even a free service. A couple times I have received free oil changes because they have taken over an 1 hour to complete. They do have a nice lounge for the customers to wait in while their vehicle is being serviced, complete with a tv, magazines, comfy chairs and even "work stations" for those with computers and things to work on while they wait. All your services come with a free car wash and I have found all of their staff to be very friendly. I will usually receive a text message afterwards asking to fill out a survey regarding the satisfaction of my visit too. read more

I really liked my salesperson. So much so that I actually followed her from another dealer. I wouldn't have bought from this dealer if it wasn't for her. The finance person was instructed to get me the best terms possible for a given length of time. When we met to sign the paperwork however, it wasn't the lowest rate he could find. He admitted that there were others out there that had come back lower. He also tried to tell me that I couldn't pay off the loan for 45+days (which I know is bogus given that I have done it multiple times before). Finally tried to pressure me into getting gap through the dealer, when I was adamant that I didn't want it. Unfortunately, the used car I bought from them appears to have an electrical issue (radio will randomly reboot). So now I have to take it to another dealer that will hopefully cover the repairs under the factory warranty that is still in place. If you want a dependable car, with fair financing, then I would stay FAR away from this dealer. read more

I had an appointment to get my airbag fixed due to a recall. My appointment was for 8:45am. They asked what time I needed my vehicle back and I said 1pm. For an airbag, that they said takes about an hour and a half, that should've been plenty of time. Well they called me at 12:45 and say they have to break my glovebox open in order to get to the airbag that needs to be fixed. It was stuck closed and I had already attempted to break it open so I say it's fine. So I get dropped off to pick up my vehicle at 1:20pm and it is not done. It's not done AND the guy working on it went to lunch. So it's past time, and no one is working on it now. I explain that I'm here to pick up and the guy taking care of me asks when I need to leave. I say I have work at work, 20 minutes away, by 2pm. When do I leave? Almost 2pm! My vehicle was over 45 minutes delayed getting done which made me late for work. I had a great buying experience on the sales side, but service is a whole 'nother story. When I took it for my first oil change, I decided I would never go back. Whoever serviced my car did not put the seat back into my position, but the grossest part is that they had oil or grease on their hands so when they put the plastic cling up to tell me when I was due for service again they got a greasy streak on my windshield AND the lever to push the seat back was all greased up along with my steering wheel. They left the paper mat and hang tag in it too. As if all that weren't bad enough, they didn't even put the correct date and mileage on my reminder film. Wanted to give a "shout out" to Marshall Wilson and Bart Beach in Indy Honda's Service Department. Late into the afternoon of Monday, May 22rd, my alternator of my 2015 Honda Fit decided to begin to die as I was leaving the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Upon being able to call your service department, your Service Manager, Bart Beach, was able to give me advice about not turning the engine off; but, also an honest assessment of my chances to drive it from the west side of Indy down to your dealership in rush hour traffic. Opting to have the car towed to your dealership that evening, the following morning I met Marshall Wilson in the service department. From that point, he took care of keeping me informed on what needed to be done, and updated me on the progress of obtaining the replacement part, as well as the progress of the technician in fixing the car. Both of these gentlemen were very helpful, and understood my concern of getting the car back to me as soon as possible, as this was a very busy week for me being the days immediately before the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race. This place is by far the most unprofessional place to get ripped off. Not only are their prices inflated on used cars but new car "extras" will get you. First, they will try to secretly sell you the "Pivotol Security" etching for $299. Then they will try to sell you the "Extended Warranty" for $1500+. Then you will pay a $150 doc fee which is just a way of getting more money for doing nothing. The last thing you should watch out for is the "Pivitol Finish" detailing package for $895. This is nothing more than wax, scotchguard, and armor all. Jason (finance manager) will try to sneak all these fees in on you. As for the new car pricing and experience you should have a normalish experience. Used cars...be prepared to pay several thousands more than you should. With the inflated price they can give you a higher "trade allowence" to give the perception of a good deal fair trade value. In the end, you the buyer will lose. DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP, THEIR MISTAKES COST ME OVER $1300 - Long story but I have to speak up after the way this place treated me. I had been looking for a Honda S2000 in a specific color for a while and found one in a nearby suburb of Indianapolis. I am from Cincinnati, 2 hours away. I liked the car after seeing it in person and had the owner take the car to Indy Honda for a pre-purchase inspection. I nearly bought a different S2000 in Georgia a few months ago, but passed on it because the PPI said the car needed $2400 worth of work. I call Indy Honda after the inspection is done and am told the car needed new transmission fluid, a head gasket, and a battery. Not bad, about $350 worth of work. This dealership SEEMED reputable, and because I am not mechanically savvy, I buy the car based on this report, take it back to Cincinnati, and have a friend, who is a former Honda mechanic who worked on S2000s when they were new, fix the issues above. I first fun into problems when I find out that it is not the battery that needs replacing, but just a battery strap. Not that big of a deal, but still a red flag in my mind. Because of this, I request a faxed copy of the physical inspection report. The report lists the above minor issues, but also that the brake rotors are warped and will need replacing somewhat soon. Still not the biggest issue, but something that CLEARLY should have been mentioned to me over the phone when I asked what needed fixing on the car. Here is the big issue: My mechanic fixes the minor issue, but comes back and says I need a new clutch, and that the clutch on the car is clearly on its final days, and is something that ANYONE WHO KNOWS THE SLIGHTEST ABOUT WORKING ON CARS should have picked up on just from DRIVING it, and much less when the car is being inspected specifically for issues like this. Since this is my first car, and I am not mechanically savvy, I did not pick up on this issue with the clutch. That's why I trusted Indy Honda to notice something like this. I call their service department, and speak with their service manager and explain this whole story. I will make it clear that he was very polite and understanding and CLAIMED he was willing to work with me. We spoke a few days later, in which he told me the most he could help me would be to give me a discount on the parts for the repair job, and have my mechanic fix the car since I would get cheaper labor there. Only problem is, his "discount" was essentially 25% off the dealer price on the parts. It took me all of ten minutes to find the parts cheaper online, and research the dealer cost of the parts, where I found that they would still be making a HUGE profit off me at this price. This clutch repair ended up costing me over $1300 because the mechanics at Indy Honda are apparently unable to tell what a working clutch feels like. The error in the battery is forgivable, the error with the brakes and the clutch are not. DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP. Do not give them your money, take your car somewhere else. Their laziness and inability to do their jobs correctly cost me a lot of money, time, and frustration, and their idea of customer service and relations is just as terrible and lazy. read more

I bought a 2012 Chevy Malibu for $10,000 from Indy Honda. Once I get to the freeway and hit higher speeds the car is VIOLENTLY vibrating. (I didn't do this during my test drive because the freeway is 10-15 minutes away and I didn't have much time on my car shopping day) I had the wheels balanced at Midas the next day and the guys said that not a single weight had been put on the wheels . . . FAIL!!! A quick, cheap fix, but a very stupid mistake by Indy Honda. A few days later I go out to eat lunch. Afterwards, I go to start the car and it won't start. After a few tries I get lucky and it fires up. The exact same thing happens the next day as well. It appears Indy Honda sold me a lemon, and thus I can't give them 5 stars. However, I am giving them 4 stars, and here is why: I call Indy Honda and tell them my problems. I recognize that I have signed all the paperwork saying that I purchased the car AS IS with no warranty and ask if there is anything they can do. I am put in touch with Jim Mills who tells me to bring it on in and they will have a look. LONG story short, Jim put me in one of their new CRVs (borrower vehicle) for roughly 3 weeks while he and his mechanics puzzle over this very peculiar starting issue. They replace the fuel pump twice and the fuel pump relay. Jim spent tons of time on the phone with GM and eventually figured out that there was some wire to the fuel pump that would shorten when the car was still warm, causing a loose connection from the battery to the fuel pump and preventing fuel flow to the engine on warm startups. Apparently GM used a wire that was too short in the first place. Anyway, the car has now run flawlessly for the last few weeks, despite many warm startups. I REALLY appreciate all the hard work Jim Mills did, even on some Saturdays and his coordination with his mechanics. If it weren't for him, this review would be 1 star and another sob story. To say that I am disappointed in my service would be an understatement. I bought my Passport brand new in 2019. After only driving a short number of miles I noticed that my car would vibrate pretty bad upon braking. It had a hum to it as well which sounded like a semi-truck engine brake. This was not normal, especially for a new vehicle. I took my passport in to get this checked out. I was told that they rotated the tires and balanced everything. I was also told that they did an alignment but could not see any other issues. The service tech even drove like vehicles to mine to determine if he had the issues in that vehicle. I was then told that the problem would be notated and that I would be notified when there was a fix since it was a new vehicle, and they didn't have a lot to go off of based on other reports. I agreed and away I went. I serviced my vehicle regularly with Indy Honda and have always stayed up on the maintenance. Fast forward and I now have 44k miles and its two years later. I still haven't heard from the service team in regard to my issue. I took my vehicle in to have them do the regular maintenance and inquired about the vibrations. I received a call from the service manager who told me that he couldn't cover the issue and that I have a responsibility to tell the techs each time I came in that the problem still insisted. The service manager told me that I needed to have my rotors turned and new pads and that he could take 25% off of that price but I was still looking at around $400 The service manager stated that he would only pay a portion since I drove on them for all of this time. I only drove on the rotos/pads for this length of time because YOUR service department told me they would contact me when there was a fix. My concern is that I was told that I would be notified when there was a fix, thus my responsibility of notifying them of the issue had already taken place. I waited patiently and never heard about it. It shouldn't be my problem when it was obviously a factory defect on the vehicle to which they couldn't figure out and honestly, they are still taking guesses to what is causing the problem. I bought a new car and feel as if I have never had one. I have really sour feelings about my car, the dealership, and Honda in general because of this encounter. I will not pay for this work as I took all necessary steps to rectify it by making the initial notification. The fact that I was told that I would have to pay for the work at this point really doesn't sit right with me. I brought up the issue with less than 3k miles and was told THEY would notify me when there was a fix and now that it is outside of the warranty range, it is my problem. NOT A GOOD BUSINESS MODEL. I am also concerned that if the problem was simply new pads/rotors, why wouldn't your team have determined that when I first brought it in or are you just throwing darts at the wall and expecting me to pay for it? I will never again take my vehicle to Indy Honda nor purchase another vehicle from them, in fact there are several dealerships closer to where I live. I was only being loyal to the place that sold me this vehicle. To place the blame on a loyal customer for a defective vehicle that has been defective since it was bought, is just absolutely poor service. read more

The service department is Top Notch. The do the repair and each time I've been there the repair bill was less than the repair estimate. It is always a pleasant surprise. However this is not a good place to buy a car. The salesman sold us an extended warranty on a used car. 35 days after we took delivery the turbo charger went out. Indy Honda would not make it right and the extended warranty wasn't worth the paper it was written on. It wouldn't pay for the repair either. I want to tell you about my recent concern with what I consider to be an integrity issue Indy Honda. I had been given a quote for a new CR-V a while back. Since that quote was given, car sales changed significantly and are demanding higher prices. However, I took a chance and called Indy Honda and spoke to a salesman to see if they could still honor that price, fully expecting that they probably could not. He said that he thought that they could, was busy and would call me right back. He didn't. About a week later, I called and spoke with a different salesman and told him about the prior call and the prior quote. He said that he would talk with his manager to see if they could still honor it and would call me back. He called back with the good news that they still could. To make a long story short, he called the next day and said that they couldn't. I followed this up with someone who I understood to be a manager, expressing my confusion about a manager approving it one day, telling me they could and then not honoring it the next. When I took the initiative to go up the chain of management, I was told that they couldn't sell it at the price quoted. I am not sure why they focused on whether or not they could sell it at that price rather than addressing the integrity issue of agreeing then then taking it back. I hope that was not because I am female and they thought could be redirected from the point more easily. I then asked for the contact information for the next person up the management line, and received no reply. Weeks later... still no reply.
