We waited an hour and half and canceled our reservation as there was no way we weren't waiting another 2 hours. The poor girl was doing her best but they clearly need more employees preparing rented cars for rental.

Picking up the vehicle this weekend was very pleasant and they even allowed me to choose from several available vehicles. For a Premium Crossover, they originally offered a Chevy Traverse or VW Atlas. I wasn't that thrilled with either of those, and after some more discussion, they offered me a new 2026 Nissan Pathfinder with only 500 miles on it. I was then quickly on my way down one garage level with the keys. The vehicle was very clean and ran well. I did notice the fuel level needle was just under the Full line, but just let it go. Upon dropping off the vehicle a couple days later back at the airport, because I was dropping it off 35 minutes late, the agent said a tttal charge of 30 extra dollars than what I was originally quoted. However, the Alamo agent at the pickup desk a couple days earlier said I would have one hour more to drop it off. The Dropoff agent named Zee was super friendly and explained it was the "system" automatically charging for the late delivery and easily reversed the charge. He also asked if they could do anything better and I mentioned how the gas tank wasn't 100% full upon pickup, and he offered a $20 credit. All in all, despite a couple minor issues, these guys quickly addressed them and presented good solutions. I will definitely be back to rent from them again.

Explained this all to the manager when I dropped the Van off, she was polite, apologetic and offered a discounted rate as a make good. For a 4 day rental they put $190 hold on our card, which is more than you'd pay in tolls driving down the entire east coast and back. During our trip, we passed through (1) toll, and now a month later the hood turned into a full $190 charge...they are claiming the charge is for the option to use their toll pass which is definitely not the option we were told. We called to dispute it and were told we'd have to go to the rental location to dispute it...which is absolute BS, we are in NC and not able to travel back. I would never do business with this dishonest company again, and I strongly suggest you avoid them too

I got a text that I could check-out online and skip the line - so, when we arrived we saw a sign that said if you're Hertz rewards to go downstairs (via elevator) to their window - which we did. I was then told that if you use the text it takes you out of their system and I had to go back upstairs. So, we had to take the elevator again and when we got up there, now there were 5 people in line. When I got up to the counter, I was told I should be able to go downstairs and they'd take care of me. I refused and so then they "upgraded" me complementary and I ended up with a HUGE SUV which is not what I wanted to drive around (gas and also parking issues) so I had to go back to the window and ask them to put me in the rental I actually booked. It took over an hour - as mentioned - and it was stressful and not at all the Hertz experience I'm used to. If this location doesn't offer the text check-out then they should notify Hertz to discontinue that for people picking up here. Drop-off was a bit easier and went smoother than expected - I showed up earlier expecting it to not be fast but it was like other airports and it is nice that it's so close to the ticketing area (directly across the street).

First the location at the Buffalo Airport is not on the same floor as the other agencies. No worry it's a floor below. Regardless it's super conveniently located across the street from baggage claim. The rep was super nice and friendly. Asked about our flight and demonstrated an interest in helping us get on our way. The hick up was a not having the type of car that I reserved - we wanted a luxury sedan but she offered a small lux SUV. The contracting was super quick and we were off to our adventure within a few minutes. Way to go National thank you.

They said they could deal with it after the rental. 6) I call after returning the vehicle. They offer a match to their published rates at $215, claiming their rate had been $285. They could do no better. Imagine what kind of fantastic rate I could have gotten on the car they actually provided booking in advance... Much, much better than $215. Budget is not worth the stress of being late, being overcharged for a downgrade even after a discount, and creating a nightmare. The good? Friendly staff. AWFUL company. Kind staff.
