The only thing I really liked was the view. When you walk in the hotel, there are no signs as to where you need to go. You can only use one elevator to get there but it wasn't made clear so we had to ask the front desk. When we go to the rooftop, the hostess sat us by the bar right near the door. There was a garden looking patio with couches. We asked if we could sit in there and we were told they were reserved. No one came in after us as it was not too far out from closing and there were still plenty of couches available. Mind you, we also had a reservation. The waitress walked by several times and on concentrated on other tables. I had to flag her down to get her to wait on us. Even after taking our order, it took a while to get 2 glasses of wine with very little customers in the bar. Someone else delivered our drinks and then someone else our check and the original waitress walked by plenty of times without stopping to check on us. I understand that rooftop restaurants tend to be higher priced due to the ambiance but this place lacked that so it was just overpriced. Music playing was good.

This place is so FUN!!! And I respect how they're keeping their staff and customers safe during the pandemic! All my time in NOLA and I hadn't heard of this place but saw it recommended on the Tulane Parent Page for outdoor seating. (It's rooftop actually). It was literally pouring rain when we arrived so we called to ask if we should even bother coming up and they told us it's a RETRACTABLE roof! It's very cool to watch, opens like blinds with very large windows and amazing views. Warning vegetarians: their ONLY option is French fries. Very limited menu. But very nice drinks, specifically the frozen ones! (Mai tai my fave) The table ordered crab cakes and sliders. You're really not coming here for the food. This is a fun fun vibe for drinks and unbeatable atmosphere. And you order with your cell phone so very limited interaction with staff. They're taking temps and contact tracing info at the door too. This place will be my first go-to when in town. Def check out the hotel as well.

It's just okay. I came here on a Friday evening. It was pretty dead and the ambiance wasn't lively at all. When asked about drink specials the bartender told me to just scan the code. Which just pulled up a very limited drink menu with no specials. I got a Margarita and old fashion. Both drinks cost us about $35, tip was already included, which is insane for something so basic. I'd say skip this place. The view is mediocre, as well as the drinks, and music.

I'm glad I tried out this bar. The waitress was sweet and polite and helped me out with Finding something to order. The drinks were good and strong and the service was excellent. Follow me on TikTok "taneeshanthecity"

What a great rooftop bar. Great views and the drinks and food were decent. Would definitely come back!

Monkey Board is the rooftop bar at the Troubadour. Happy hour is 4 to 6 nightly and a very nice selection of drinks are available for $6 each. Everything we had was tasty and a decent pour (not "my bar at home during Covid pours" but still good!). The view is of buildings and the very top of the Superdome but it's in a city, what else do you want? The sunset made everything glow which was cool (in the winter you get a sunset with your happy hour)! It's definitely "3 seasons" with large windows that I assume are open in warmer weather. In colder weather they have heaters which is a nice touch. The staff was friendly and responsive. We have been making our list of things to see and do while here and they happily looked it over, giving us suggestions of where to go and where to avoid, which was very cool of them! It was most crowded around 5 and emptied out around 6. They stay open until 11, so not sure what the later night crowd looks like. They also have a pop up kitchen that is staffed by different restaurants each day (Check their website for who). We got tasty empanadas from Krewe du Crave. Check this place out, I think you'll be happy you did!

The only reason they get a 4 star is because we have to go downstairs to get certain food items. Like why wouldn't fries be offered by the bar. Fries are a staple any where you do!!!!! The drinks were super good. The bartender was really nice and was able to make some good suggestions. The music was ok. I feel like there was a DJ sitting next to us, however, I think he just made a playlist. It was a pretty chill place definitely recommend for a pre-game.

If you are looking for a rooftop bar in NOLA, this is it! The music, drinks, and the view are a combination that can't be touched. I ordered the Jazz Dad-quiri and a few other cocktails. I highly recommend this rooftop bar.

This place was pretty good. We had a large party here for my sister's wedding a couple weeks ago. I had the carne asada tacos for $12. They were very tasty and filling. My Mom had the chicken sliders, she enjoyed the flavor of the strawberry spiced BBQ sauce that was on them but the sliders were pretty small and at one point she questioned if her chicken was done all the way. The fries that accompanied them were hot and crispy. My husband had the burger. He finished it but didn't have a glowing review. They do temper checks for all guests entering and it is a nice rooftop atmosphere, but doesn't provide a super great view of Nola or anything.

The one star goes out to the ambiance, view & really nice staff! The lack of 4 stars is for this TWELVE DOLLAR cocktail that was served in the same cup I got my water in. Def killed the vibe if you're going up here for a cute experience/drink pictures with the view. Can't even blame it on covid, because they were serving wine in normal glasses. Aside from this good joke of a drink, they automatically add 20% gratuity to a table of 3..... and no one told us....and no one took our order... you text it in. Be prepared for this ~experience~ if you will.

I went up for a drink after deciding that we would stay in tonight, but was a bit disappointed in my decision. They had a nice little seating area, but it wasn't cleared and full of trash. I picked up the containers of empty food and cups and took them to the trash and went up to the counter to order a drink. They had one on the menu that stated bartender's choice. I inquired about it so I could place my order for it, and was told that they didn't have one tonight. Why is it on the menu if it wasn't an option? I actually felt a bit unwelcome at this point, so I just took a couple of photos with my husband after he got my drink and headed back to our room. It is a nice looking spot, but we won't be back.

Diamond member with Hilton- Talk about wasted space for something with great potential! Sub sub par service from staff that clearly doesn't want to be here! 15 patrons in line at 7pm on a Saturday... good time to take lunch break 1 of 2 bartenders??? WTF! Can we please get Jon taffer up in here! #barrescue

Service was good but I cannot believe I paid $15 for a margarita that didn't even fill half the glass. Love the ambiance but just not worth it.

Rich, layered, and well-balanced with fresh elements that worked together on the plate. For entrées, we had a variety of cuts, including the Australian Wagyu, ribeye, butcher's cut, and lamb chops. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. Service by Noelle was attentive and responsive throughout the night. Everything flowed well, and we were taken care of without feeling rushed or hovered over. This is not a casual dinner spot, but for a celebration or a night where you want a full experience, Doris Metropolitan absolutely delivers.

It started the moment we walked in. Glancing at the hostess, asking "OK to sit at the bar?", getting a nod, sitting down. An experience we've done in hundreds of restaurants. (We had reservations for a table but often prefer the bar.) The bartender -- whom we believe was named Mike -- started off his interaction with new customers as follows. "Did you check with the hostess?" I nodded in the affirmative, apparently that wasn't enough. "Check with the hostess", he ordered. I got up, went over the hostess stand, and confirmed, this time so "Mike" could see, that it was OK for us to sit at a half-empty bar. (In retrospect, we should have gotten up and walked out immediately, but it was late and even in the Quarter most places were closing for dinner.) You see, Mike clearly didn't want to be working that night. He was rude, inattentive, and condescending. And not just to us, to everyone seated at the bar. Slow making drinks, slow asking for orders, seething contempt for his customers. One time we asked to see a drink menu to decide on a new drink, he said, and this is a direct quote, "Do you want to see it or do you want to review it?" Mike's behavior was clearly well-known to the staff, because another staff member, who was off-shift and next to us at the bar, witnessed this behavior and arranged for a free dessert on the house (classy move on her part). She confided in us that Mike's pretty much always like that, but that he's a buddy of the general manager so seemingly un-fireable. Well, here's hoping someone reads this and thinks the better of Doris Metropolitan, or at least sitting at the bar. Unless you think service you'd get in a Paris tourist trap cafe is appropriate for a high-end steakhouse, you're better off spending your hard-earned money elsewhere.
