The ambiance is super quaint and cozy. The courtyard is uber cute. The wine list is better than the typical. And all of the food was delicious. We joined them in the courtyard, which had a giant canopy set up overhead protecting them (and us) from the pouring rain. It was such a fun, impromptu, New Orleans experience, dancing to the band and enjoying a wonderful glass of wine and champagne cocktail from the bar. They have a very extensive wine list, over 50 wines by the glass, many reasonably priced. It has an upscale, luxurious, yet comfortable vibe. It is small, so fills up quickly. Really wonderful time here on our first night of Jazzfest.

Patrick serves a wonderful traditional Sazerac. We stopped by after enjoying preservation hall jazz for a cocktail to relax. A second hidden gem, Patrick's is connected and has a interior entrance to a beautiful courtyard. You can sit and enjoy your drink, in the relaxing courtyard. We sat in the courtyard, looking up to see stars over our head. I'm always amazed that in the courtyard. It is quiet the noise of bourbon street and festivities in the streets are eliminated. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. It was a generous plate and that had me at first bite, the food was delicious. Unfortunately they were out of their infamous blood bags, which both the hostess and server were kind enough to let us know. The upside to that is they have an excellent blood themed cocktail menu. I ordered the B+ whiskey cocktail, also called blood and sand, which probably gets its name from the demura sugar crystals that were sitting in the bottom of the martini glass. Served with a cherry, this is a sweet and fun drink. My friend was celebrating her birthday, so our server offered her a birthday shot, which was made with bailey's, kaluah, and something else I can't recall. I had a sip, it tasted quite nice. Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.
