A lovely inn with super friendly innkeepers. Nice, clean, comfortable room with great breakfast. You will feel at home with Dan & Penny. It is evident that they love what they do ...and they do it EXTREMELY WELL!

Very cute place! I came here for their high tea so I cannot comment on their hotel services. The English high tea was full of yummy homemade sandwiches, scones and desserts. I especially loved my tea! I believe it was berry flavored. Plenty of flavor and I didn't need sugar.

The Inn Victoria is an upscale New England, B&B conveniently located in downtown Chester, Vt. on route 11. A short distance from Interstate 89 if you're interested in a speedy route North to Montreal or South to Concord New Hampshire and Boston and beyond. On the other hand if you head West it connects to the most picturesque, route 100, which is one of the nation's most scenic roads. The owners, I believe, Dan and Penny do a fabulous job decorating there inn, and offer very luxurious & comfortable hospitality. I had trouble leaving. I couldn't stop talking and enjoying late morning conversations with everyone. Their free breakfast is fabulous. There are also many attractions in the area. I recommend it and will definitely return.

Spent the night here last weekend for my bfs 40th birthday getaway. Such a beautiful inn with the nicest most welcoming owners. Coffee is always available, if you need tea they've got you covered, every kind possible. Our room was perfect! I was unaware that we happened to be in a room that has access to the hot tub out on the porch, next time I'll bring a bathing suit. I did however turn on fireplace and take a long hot bath in the tub. King size bed with luxurious sheets.... heavenly. When we returned from dinner people were sitting in the living room enjoying wine, just a real homey feel and I loved it. Unfortunately we missed breakfast (we are not morning people and why rush to get out of that bed?!) as we were leaving Penny did offered us muffins but we were on our way to breakfast so passed on them. Location is perfect; close to some great breweries and ski resorts. I just love VT, I'm sure we will return! Thank you for the perfect stay. P.s. We apologize for not leaving a better tip, our room was splendid but we didn't have much cash on hand.

Hot tub outside the princess Helena and Prince Albert rooms

This place is awesome. Stayed here for 2 nights during my 3 day trip to Vermont and it was the highlight of my trip. Booked the princess Helena room for $199 a night and it was worth every penny. The room was very big and has a king bed and a free standing tub in the room which is great for a relaxing bubble bath. The room has a deck with a hot tub on it and only 2 rooms have access to it. The room also has a large tv with pretty much every channel you can possibly want. There's also excellent wifi. It also has a fireplace which heats the entire room and is super convenient for those cold winters Vermont has. The Inn is run by the friendliest people you will ever meet in your life. Dan, Penny, and Rachel were more than accommodating during our stay. They are more than happy to answer any questions you have and are there to help in any way. Also Dan makes a wonderful breakfast! He made us eggs, bacon, and potatoes with vegetables and it was extremely tasty. Honestly our stay was incredible and the next time I pay a visit to Vermont I will most definitely be staying here!

We stayed here for over the Thanksgiving weekend, and after only being there 1 night I told my husband I felt like we were with family. Penny, Dan, Jess, and Rachel were so awesome. A special thank you to Penny who went above and beyond for my husband who has a food allergy. I can't say enough great things about this place. Our room (Prince Albert) was welcoming with a fireplace and awesome jetted bathtub. On the deck outside of the room was a hot tub that we visited every-night (my husbands favorite). The food was phenomenal! If you are so lucky to have the poached ginger Pear or the Eggs Benedict you will see what I am talking about. Truly I can't wait to go back.

Prince Alfred room. View of bed from near the tv

What a wonderful gem to have found in Vermont. My wife and I had a wonderful stay in the Prince Alfred room. We arrived late due to having to work and then travel from NYC. We were cheerfully greeted by Dan upon arrival and promptly shown our room and explained breakfast time, the wine library, and given a quick tour of our room and how to use the hot tub and fireplace. The wine library was a wonderful feature, if you forget to bring a bottle of wine take 1 from the cabinet and just replace it before you leave. Next time I visit I will definitely bring something from NYC that is hard to find outside the local area. Breakfast was superb, better than any restaurant I have been to. The waffles the first day were so light and fluffy. We will definitely be returning for another visit maybe in the summer or fall , can't wait to return! Thank you Penny, Dan, and Rachel for your wonderful hospitality.

Franklyn Farm Inn - Bed and Breakfast

    Franklyn Farm Inn

    (1 review)

We stayed at the Franklyn Farm Inn for two nights, based on the content of its web site (site) and…read moreonline reviews, such as Google Reviews and booking.com. The site is misleading, and the reviews generally don't reflect our experience. Examples follow. First, though, I want to mention that we enjoyed speaking with "JJ," who was very helpful, pleasant, and informative. The comfortable rocking chairs and shawls are a nice touch. The site states, "Daily Baked Good. Enjoy homemade treats." The mass produced store bought cookies tasted awful. We weren't offered, and we didn't see or smell, any "baked good[s]" or "homemade treats." The closest "baked good" was a Pillsbury Grands biscuit served one of the mornings. The site indicates breakfast is served "7:30-9:30 a.m.," but it was served from 8 to 9 a.m. Neither day did breakfast even closely resemble the photos on the site. The first day, the commercially prepared French toast was undercooked. The second day, the commercially prepared quiche was barely warm. Both mornings, we ate all of our breakfast because we were very hungry. We've stayed at other B&Bs, in the US and in Europe, where the food (including the baked goods) was homemade and far superior to the two breakfasts that the Franklyn Farm Inn served. As stated on the information sheet posted on the room wall, towels aren't replaced, and the room isn't made up, daily. There was no place in the "petite" bathroom (or in the sleeping area) to hang the lush towels to dry. We were provided only one wash cloth each, even though we stayed for more than one night. The small trash receptacle wasn't emptied during our stay. At other B&Bs where we've stayed, towels were replaced at least every other day, there was an appropriate space in which to hang the towels to dry, the number of wash cloths was more than adequate, and the room was made up daily. During our entire stay, the hottest water in the bathroom sink was lukewarm. The liquid hand soap for the bathroom sink appeared to be diluted. The windows in the sleeping area are filthy, and the only way to keep either of the windows open is with a provided "stick." The first night, the room temperature was comfortably cool. However, the second night, the room was very uncomfortable because it was extremely hot and dry. The step provided to get into and out of the much too high comfortable beds is dangerous, as it slides on the wooden floor. Stuart, the dog, is cute and friendly. However, he may be "too much" for those who prefer to admire him from a distance. Per our request, the inn keeper supposedly gave us a senior discount. However, we've since noticed online that, in fact, we didn't receive a discount. Considering the above, almost $300 for two nights, including tax, is much too expensive. We won't return to, and we won't recommend, the Franklyn Farm Inn.

It was much more money. I figured I'd get a better rate because my husband was a disabled. I went to the actual website for the hotel itself in Springfield and the people that answer the phone and I don't remember her name right now, but she was amazing so helpful. Help me get straightened out help me to rebook the reservation, but then now is fast forward to yesterday. I came into the hotel. I was greeted very nicely by this beautiful smell in the hallway Like a pine tree Christmas tree good thing which I didn't know was an air freshener I thought at first was the Christmas tree in the hallway.. The girl at the front desk, Emily she was just filling in for her mother, which I didn't know that at first, but she was very professional very outgoing greet you. Good evening welcome when you come in the door explain who I was what I needed she ends up being able to give me a room like two doors from the actual entrance at the back at the handicap entrance. So my John didn't have to walk too far since you don't been sitting for almost 3 hours in the car to get here. It was tough so then we got the wrong. I got settled came down and asked her several questions she had no problem the girl that was doing the cleanup she her name was Donna. She was working and it was her birthday like hello don't even take your birthday off wow I then talk with her for a bit to explain some things about the hotel. Everything is fresh clean bright it's beautiful. I'm sure it looks just as good when it's not decorated for Christmas as it does today it's all decorated people, Christmas, decorations and trees and bows and this fake present under the tree. Everything was just amazing so far so now I'm having breakfast and I got to sleep late for the first time, I can't say how long but breakfast has it starts off with a waffle station then it has four different kinds of fresh juice then it has a cooler that has chocolate milk in it. It has fresh yogurt, cottage cheese, boiled eggs, regular sticks of cheese then they have cold cereal. They have hot cereal. They have fresh yogurt that you can make buffets with they have things and stuff they have three kinds of fresh fruit. They have a bread station that has bagels and English muffins and toast in it with peanut butter and jelly butter Have a microwave for heating. Then their hot station has bacon and sausage, and it also has cheese omelettes and scrambled eggs this morning if two kinds of fresh coffee, hot water for coconut tea. I mean, if you can't find something for breakfast here to eat then you have a problem I had a fresh buttermilk waffle with bacon. Everything looks delicious. Looks amazing fresh I mean this has been absolutely my number one experience in hotel and the best Western of all the times I've stayed I really enjoyed this one if they were all cookie cutter, I would be doing great. I think at one time we did stay at one of the one in Pennsylvania, and that was fantastic as well, but it's nice. You can go more than one and more than one state and it's just the same. I will definitely be back here again up here for a friendly family party tonight, but we're staying till tomorrow so we can have a real short brief vacation and get some sleep without eating anyways and being bothered and stuff. it's also literally a stone stove from the highway exit you cannot go wrong by coming off and using this as a rest stop is definitely something you should come to check out is not till 12 so I mean you have no excuse not to lay in bed. Take your time get some breakfast go back and relax and everything is just top-notch here. Also forgot to put up top all the employees address so professional in the beautiful royal blue best western shirts, nice pair of black pants and sneakers also into a swimming pool, which I'm sure we won't get time to use this time as we're getting super late last night and my husband was very tired and pain and today we have the party, but I will definitely come back and try the pool next time
